It was another wonderful morning in Konoha, birds chirping and a sunrise that would make your heart skip a beat. This is no ordinary morning though this one is special for there will be a couple of young kids taking there first steps towards becoming legends. Brothers in everything but blood, Naruto was openly excited for today. Little did he know Sasuke was just as excited he just did a better job of hiding it.
Hokage's office
"I'm glad you could make it back for the graduation." Hiruzen said blowing a poof of smoke out of his pipe. "You think I'd miss the Gaki's big day." Jiraiya said clutching his heart in a mock. "Have you brought me any news?" Hiruzen asked getting straight to business. "I have bad and worse which would you like first?" Jiraiya said getting his sensei to raise his brow. "Worse than bad." Hiruzen said with a sigh. "Well my beloved teammate has been making frequent trips to suna. He's planning something but I'm not sure what yet. The bad news is Itachi is sick I told him to get checked out when we got here but it seems pretty serious." Jiraiya said with a frown.
"Well that's just lovely." Hiruzen said with evident sarcasm. "I need to find Tsunade and drag her ass back she's had enough time away don't you think sensei." Jiraiya half asked half told. "Well I'd say Orochimaru will wait for us to host the chunin exams before he tries anything so whenever you leave go and bring her back just make sure to be back for the exams." Hiruzen said receiving a nod. "So who did you put the Gaki with?" Jiraiya asked. "Asuma is there sensei and he will be paired with Ino Yamanaka, and Sakura Haruno. I think they will be a nice well rounded support squad, Naruto has both offensive and defensive capabilities, Ino could be a good sensor, and I suspect Sakura will be a medic or genjutsu type based on her scores." Hiruzen said. "On a team with two girls lucky Gaki. Jiraiya said out of jealousy.
Academy 3:00pm
"Ok everyone that is still here congratulations on passing the test now I will call out teams, afterwards hang out and wait for your jonin sensei to come get you guys. Team 7 will be Sasuke Uchiha, Hinata Hyuga, and Shino Aburame led by Kakashi Hatake." Iruka said getting a groan from Sakura because she wouldn't be on Sasuke's team. "Team 8 will be Kiba Inuzuka, Choji Akimichi, Shikamaru Nara, and will be led by Kurenai Yuhi. Team 9 is still active so Team 10 will be Naruto Uzumaki-Hatake, Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno, and they will be led by Asuma Sarutobi. While I may not be with you guys any longer I wish you all the best and don't be strangers good luck." Iruka finished as he left.
"Team 8 I'm Kurenai come with me" Kurenai said before walking out with three new students. "Team 10 I'm Asuma come on." Asuma said as he walked out not giving them time to reply. "I'll see ya later Sasuke." Naruto said as he walked out with his team in route. "I don't know if you guys have heard of Kakashi but he will be a while most likely." Sasuke said before putting his head on his desk to take a nap.
"Ok you three I think we should all get to know each other a bit tell me your likes dislikes and your dream." Asuma said before lightning a cigarette. "Uh sensei do you think you could go first so we know what to say." Sakura asked timidly. "Sure my likes are shogi and spending time with my wife Kurenai. Dislike are people who take advantage of people worse off than them. And my dream is to be able to grow old with my wife and start a family. Alright pinky you go first and tell me your names." Asuma finished. "My name is Sakura Haruno, my likes are Sasuke-kun. My dislikes are annoying people like Kiba. And my dream is to get married to Sasuke-kun." Sakura finished with hearts in her eyes. Great a girl who could give two shits about becoming a shinobi. "Alright the other girl." Asuma said pointing towards Ino. "My name is Ino Yamanaka my likes are flowers. My dislikes are mean people. My dream is to be a better clan leader than my daddy." Ino said. Well that better at least. "Ok now you." Asuma said pointing to Naruto. "Naruto Uzumaki-Hatake. My likes are Raman, my family and training. My dislikes are people who can't tell the difference between a storage seal and a Kunai. My dream is to become an even stronger shinobi than my dad." Naruto said confidently. "Good you all are different meet me at training ground 10 tomorrow at 9:00 am." Asuma said before walking off.
"Well what do you guys think of our sensei?" Sakura asked. "Asuma is a strong shinobi we are in good hands." Naruto replied nonchalantly. "How do you know so much about him Naruto?" Sakura asked confused. "I've know Asuma my whole life he is basically like my uncle." Naruto replied. "Naruto's dad is a jonin around Asuma's age all his friends are like uncles and aunts to Naruto." Ino said to clarify a bit. "Oh that makes since so what do you guys want to do?" Sakura asked. "Well I was going to meet up with Sasuke but my dad will probably take his sweet time so how about we get something to eat?" Naruto said getting a couple of nods.
Meanwhile with team 7
"Yo, meet me on the roof in 5." Kakashi said before disappearing. "Show off." Sasuke said before opening the window and walking up to the roof. "Was that necessary?" Sasuke asked as he made his way to the top." Ma had to see what the other two are made of." Kakashi said. "Ok now that you are all here tell me your names, likes, dislikes, and dreams." Kakashi said pointing at Hinata to start. "I'm Hinata Hyuga my likes are well i... I'm not real sure, my dislikes are people stuck in traditions. My dreams are to get rid of the caged bird seal." Hinata finished timidly. "That is a fine dream." Kakashi said. "My name is shino Aburame my likes are insects, my dislikes are people who harm insects. My dream is to be a good clan leader." Shino said stoically. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha my likes are training, my dislikes are fan girls. My dream is to surpass my elder brother." Sasuke said. "Great you all have very different personalities. Meet me at training ground 7 tomorrow at 6:00am and I would recommend not eating breakfast." Kakashi said before giving a wave and disappearing.
Meanwhile at Ichiraku
"It still amazes me how much Raman you can eat" Ayame said giving Naruto another bowl. "I can't help it you make the best Raman in the world!" Naruto said getting a giggle from the brown haired woman. Ino and Sakura were chatting about needing to go shopping and Naruto was putting bowls back as soon as Ayame could replenish them. "Hey Gaki long time no see." Jiraiya said with a grin putting a hand on the young blondes shoulder. "What's up Pervy sage. Come to bring me a gift?" Naruto said with a laugh.
Naruto introduced his two teammates to the Sage but Ino was fairly certain that she had met the man before. The two then decided to make there way back to Naruto's home. "Hey Gaki there's not exactly an easy way to tell you this so I'm just going to say it. There is an organization with at least 8 S-ranked missing nin and from what I have gathered there after the bijuu." Jiraiya said softly. "What does that mean for me than?" Naruto asked trying not to seem intimidated. "Well nothing for now there not moving around much. I talked with the Hokage once you are a chunin you are coming with me for some one on one training." Jiraiya said with a sigh. "How long?" Naruto questioned. "A couple years. But don't cry on me Gaki I asked if Itachi could take his little brother so you will have some company." Jiraiya teased getting a huff from the blonde.
A few hours later dinner at the Hatake house
"So it seems everyone will be leaving me soon." Kakashi said with a glare at Jiraiya and Itachi. "Let's not overreact here brat it's not like there leaving tomorrow" Jiraiya said before getting a second helping. "Look we can't change circumstances so I say we just make the best of the time we have together." Mikoto said getting a few nods in return. "So little brother I hear you have a lightning affinity as well?" Itachi asked moving on from the subject. "Yeah hopefully this doesn't give him a big head but I got pretty lucky having Kakashi as my sensei." Sasuke said with a smirk. "Sasuke you hurt me." Kakashi said clutching his heart getting a laugh from the crowd.
"Gaki have you decided which summoning you want yet?" Jiraiya asked. "Honestly no I think they would both be great so I guess a fair game rock-paper-scissors?" Naruto asked as his dad and godfather played an intense game in the end Kakashi's rock crushed the scissors. "Well looks like you get the wolves pup." Kakashi said ruffling the blondes hair. "Sorry pervy sage maybe Sasuke wants the toads." Naruto said making Jiraiya hopeful again. "Sorry already gave him hawks." Itachi said making Jiraiya smile disappear. "Ungrateful Gakis." Jiraiya said making everyone laugh.
"Hey dad can we talk?" Naruto asked as Kakashi just walked Jiraiya out. "Sure pup what's on your mind?" Kakashi asked taking a seat on the couch. "How did you deal with all the pressure? I just feel like everyone expects so much of me because of my heritage and then you took me in. What if I can't live up to everything?" Naruto asked with a tear slipping out. "That's a tough question to answer pup, but one thing I can promise you is I will always be proud of you. Do you know why?" Kakashi asked to which Naruto shook his head no. "It's because no matter what you try your hardest at everything you do, and you have a heart of gold." Kakashi said getting a hug from Naruto. "But what if I'm not strong enough to keep the kyubi at bay like father intended? I know you have faith in him and me but I just don't know, I try to be strong and smart but deep down I feel like I'm just going to be crushed by everything." Naruto said tears coming out full force now. "Listen pup you are half Uzumaki, son of the greatest shinobi in the past 50 years, raised by the legendary copy nin, and soon to be trained by one of the legendary sannin if you can't do it who can?" Kakashi asked getting a smile from the boy listing off his life step by step. "Well when you put it like that I guess I am pretty damn cool. Thanks dad." Naruto said before heading off for bed.
We pick back up early in the morning with team 7 waiting for there sensei to show up, little did Shino and Hinata know they would be waiting for a bit. Sasuke on the other hand figured as much so he decided to take a nice nap under the tree. Mean while team 10 had just showed up meeting there sensei. Asuma explained to them that most jonin sensei would test them before taking them but he likes to do things a little different in stead of testing them he is going to have them on strictly D-ranks for a month if there up to snuff he will gladly continue being there sensei if not they all go back to the academy.
Jiraiya made his way to see his old sensei before taking off. He told the man he was bringing Tsunade back, to which Hiruzen handed him a summons paper, with a little known fact that she had family in the village that he was sure she would want to meet. Jiraiya also asked the man to order Itachi to stay in the village till Tsunade could look at him, he was confident Shisui could keep tabs on the Akatsuki for a bit.
Kakashi and Itachi decided to have a little spar for a bit considering Kakashi didn't mind being late to his team. He was impressed at how strong Itachi has become he would say he had the edge in a spar, but if Itachi went all out with the huge armor technique he was telling him about he wasn't very sure he'd be able to overcome that. Itachi then explained his illness to Kakashi, Kakashi was taken aback that the doctors couldn't do anything. He hoped dearly that Jiraiya would be able to bring back his teammate and help the young man.
Kakashi finally decided to meet his fresh batch of pups and see if they had what it takes he knew Sasuke knew the meaning of this test having had him and Naruto do the same thing countless times, but he was confident he wouldn't tell his teammates knowing that it wouldn't be right. Lucky for Sasuke his two teammates were pretty smart and figured out quickly they stood no shot of taking on Kakashi 1on1 so they launched an all out assault planned by Shino while they didn't get the bells they're team work wasn't to bad which was the whole reason for the test. So they passed!
Naruto decided to hang out at the training grounds and spar with Asuma trying to get his jutsu down pat. Asuma was pleasantly surprised with the boy, no he might not be the smartest genius he's every been around, but he was smarter than most and had more chakra than he knew what to do with. He had no doubt this kid was destined for great things. They sparred for about two hours, then Asuma made the boy play Shogi with him for another two. He was surprised again once Naruto figured the game out he took two wins in a row.
The next month was a lot of the same, with team 7 Kakashi decided instead of practicing on individual talents at the start it would be better to work on there combos and formations, much to his joy his team worked damn near flawlessly. Hinata would charge the opponent head on, Sasuke would provide mid range support, and Shino would drain the enemy's chakra from afar keeping his presence hidden. If Kakashi was a betting man he would say his team could handle B-rank shinobi without him even having to interfere.
Asuma was impressed with his team as well, Naruto was definitely the heavy lifter of the squad but Ino was decent sensor, and Sakura's chakra control was insane in his opinion. There team work was solid on the D-ranks. During there free time he had Sakura do water walking for as long as she could stand it building her reserves, Ino was working on her family jutsu for the most part with a little bit of water walking to help build her reserves a bit. And Naruto was training to add his wind to his Tanto, he was a little shaky at the begging of it but he was pretty damn good at it now. Asuma also made him play Shogi with him for at least an hour a day trying to build the young blondes mental.
Jiraiya was finally closing in on Tsunade, he was a mess to say the least. He truly loved her and hated to see her fall apart, that was the main reason he gave up on trying to bring her back. Hopefully with whatever the Hokage put something worth having her come back in that letter. He was also worried about his pupil, he has lost two before him he'd be damned if that number went to three. He never was great at expressing feelings other than pervyness but he truly liked the kid he saw a lot of Minato in the Uchiha.
Itachi spent a lot of time with Sasuke and his mother for the majority of the time. He loves what he does for the village, but he definitely has a soft spot for his family. Ayame had also much to his dismay set him up on a few dates with a girl named Hana Inuzuka, the two hit it off pretty much instantly. Hana was definitely more vocal but Itachi didn't mind he is about as easy going as it gets.
"Hey Sensei do you think we could take a C-rank tomorrow?" Naruto asked as they played a game of Shogi. "Hmm I suppose do you think you guys are ready?" Asuma replied evenly. "I think so we've all been training our asses off, we have good teamwork I don't see why not." Naruto replied back. "Fair point, I'll ask the old man tomorrow." Asuma said before getting up to leave. "Thanks Sensei I'll tell the rest of the team to get plenty of rest." Naruto called out before going to search for the girls.
Training grounds 7
"Alright I think that's good for the day, I'm proud of how much you guys have improved already." Kakashi said with a warm smile. "Thank you Sensei." Shino said stoically. "I am most impressed with you Hinata you have improved leaps and bounds since joining team 7." Kakashi said making the girl blush slightly. "So does this mean we can take a C-rank?" Sasuke asked. "I don't see why not, we'll go by the office 7:00am sharp." Kakashi said before waving and walking off.
"Are you sure were ready Sasuke?" Hinata asked shyly as the two were walking home. "Yes. But I think we've all improved, I won't lie to you Hinata I was a bit worried when we were teamed up but you have proven that you have a drive to improve. I think we are definitely ready to do this." Sasuke said making her blush. "Thank you." Hinata said with a bow before heading left where Sasuke went straight.
Hatake home
"How did it go today pup? Kakashi asked as Naruto walked in. "It was a little boring but Asuma sensei said he'd ask for a C-rank tomorrow." Naruto said with excitement towards the end of the sentence. "That's good pup but most C-ranks don't have very much action in them so don't get your hopes to high." Kakashi said ruffling his hair. "How was your day?" Naruto asked. "It was good, I also agreed to take on a C-rank. So we might not see each other for a bit, how about we take your mom out for dinner because we won't see her for a bit." Kakashi said getting a nod in return.
Somewhere on the outskirts of fire country
"Hime is that you?" Jiraiya asked. "What the hell do you want you old perv." Tsunade slurred. "It's nice to see you again as well, shizune hope you have been well." Jiraiya replied. "I've been good master Jiraiya thank you." Shizune replied respectfully. "Seriously Jiraiya what the hell do you want we are both to smart to know this is coincidence." Tsunade said. "Calm down Hime don't shoot the messenger." Jiraiya said handing her a scroll. She read over it carefully, Jiraiya watching her expression carefully not getting much. But then the flood gates opened, she was heartbroken how could she still have family alive and just now figure out.
"What the fuck is this!" Tsunade shouted as the tears continued to leak out. "I didn't read the scroll Hime I don't know what's in it." Jiraiya replied softly. "I've had family in the village this whole fucking time and no one mentioned it!" Tsunade yelled back. "The Gaki? You knew Kushina was pregnant though?" Jiraiya asked carefully. "They said he died in the attack!" Tsunade yelled. "No he's the vessel, he was put in the orphanage but was getting treated unfairly so Minato's brat took him and raised him." Jiraiya explained. "But I got a scroll that said he didn't survive." Tsunade said softly. "Hime I can't explain that but we both know sensei wouldn't hide this from you." Jiraiya said getting a nod back.
"So what are you going to do?" Jiraiya asked. "I'm going back you big dope." Tsunade said as if it were obvious. "Well I happen to be pretty close to the brat so I'll introduce you." Jiraiya said with a grin. "What's he like?" Tsunade asked with a said smile. "He's a damn fine kid, he's the spitting image of Minato, he has a few of Kakashi's personality traits, and when he gets excited or angry he's just like Kushina." Jiraiya explained getting a genuine smile from his life long friend.
Hokage office next morning
"Will we be taking another D-rank today?" Hiruzen asked as team 10 walked in. "Well I was hoping to get a C-rank today." Asuma said pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. "Oh I see, well I have no problems if you think they are ready." Hiruzen said evenly. "They are ready got anything close?" Asuma said with a grin. "I think we have on in Kusa I need some scrolls delivered." Hiruzen said getting a nod. "That sounds perfect we will head out shortly"Asuma said taking the scroll from his father.
"You taking your brats on a C-rank as well?" Asuma asked Kakashi as they passed each other in the hall. "Yeah they are doing very well figure what's the worst that could happen." Kakashi said as Asuma gave him a wave as he left with his team in tow. "Let me guess you want a C-rank as well?" Hiruzen asked. "Hai, don't guess you gave Asuma the best one did you?" Kakashi asked getting a snort from Hiruzen. "He did get a pretty favorable mission, but I have one I wanted you to do anyways. It's an escort to the land of waves." Hiruzen said. "Why me?" Kakashi asked. "I think our client might not have been completely honest. I realize you have gennin with you but I don't think it's anything you can't handle." Hiruzen said getting a nod back.
An hour later at the gates
"Ok guys I hoped you packed enough stuff, while this a C-rank I doubt there will be much action but make sure to stay alert." Asuma ordered getting a nod from his genin. "How long will we stay in Kusa sensei?" Naruto asked. "I wouldn't think it would take to long a week max." Asuma answered. "Hey sensei do you think I could sit in with your meeting I'm the next clan head and I'd like to be able to handle myself at meetings like this, so i think it would be very beneficial." Ino asked politely. "I don't see why not. Ok let's head out." Asuma said as they all started on there journey.
About thirty minutes later at the gates
"Hey guys we all ready?" Kakashi asked getting a yes from everyone. "So what is wave like Tazuna-san?" Hinata asked as they were making there journey. "It is very beautiful, but I'm not sure you guys would appreciate the same as me." The man said with a frown. Shortly after Hinata and Tazuna's conversation Kakashi was seemingly ripped in half by a couple of rouge nin. Sasuke didn't believe for one second Kakashi would go out like that so he attacked first. He shot off a False Darkness killing one of the brothers on the spot. The other went into a blind rage coming straight for the boy who was a little startled from getting his first kill. Only for the last demon brother to get struck in the heart by Hinata.
"Good job guys that was very efficient, Tazuna I think we need to talk." Kakashi said appearing in front of the group. "How are you alive I saw you get ripped in half?" Tazuna questioned amazed. "Ninja tricks but that's not important right now, I watched them to see if they were after us or you and it turns out to be the latter." Kakashi said making the man gulp. (The rest of the convo goes the same as cannon basically except team 7 has different people but they decided to go on with the mission.)
Back with team 10
"State your business here shinobi." A guard said forcefully. "We're here on behalf of the Hokage." Asuma said handing the man a scroll. "You all may enter." The guard said handing him the scroll back. "Ok Ino you are with me we are going to greet there leader, Sakura I'd like you to get two hotel rooms one for the girls and one for the boys once you've done that you can check out the village. I expect everyone at the hotel by 10:00 got it?" Asuma said receiving nods in return. "What are you going to do Naruto?" Sakura asked as Asuma and Ino walked off. "I'm starving just going to grab some food." Naruto said before giving a wave and heading off.
"Excuse me do you know if there is a Raman stand here?" Naruto asked politely. "Yeah if you head straight two more blocks it will be the last building on the left." The older woman replied respectfully. "Thank you very much" Naruto replied with a bow before leaving. Wow it's pretty nice to walk through a place without getting any hateful glares. Naruto thought making his way to the stand. The smell was mesmerizing as soon as hit the blondes nose, but that was the only thing that took him by surprise there was girl eating there but she was no average girl she had hair that he had only seen once before. A fiery red that he had seen thousands of times from his mothers photos. Without even thinking he instinctively sat right beside her startling the girl.
"I'm sorry didn't mean to scare you." Naruto said honestly. "It's ok just been a bit jumpy lately." The girl said trying not to make a scene. "This is going to sound kind of odd but could you tell me your last name?" Naruto asked rubbing the back of his head. "Huh my name sure i guess, Karin Uzumaki." Karin said wondering why the boys jaw dropped, but she was suddenly pulled into a hug. "I knew it! Sorry you must think I'm crazy. I guess the easiest way to explain it is by telling you my name, Naruto Uzumaki-Hatake." Naruto said with a huge smile. "Not to call you a liar Naruto but my mother told me that her whole family had red hair." Karin explained. "I get that you would be skeptical but I have a picture of me and my mom here look." Naruto said handing it to the girl. It was a photo take right after he was delivered.
"She is very beautiful. Sorry I doubted you." Karin said with a slight blush. "Thank you I miss her a lot." Naruto said honestly. "She died?" Karin asked softly receiving a nod. "Mine died as well and I never knew my father." Karin admitted sadly. "I'm very sorry as well Karin-chan." Naruto said making the girl blush in return. "Did you say chan?" Karin asked timidly. "Yeah is that a problem don't your friends call you chan?" Naruto asked confused. "It's complicated, would you like to get some Raman to go and I'll tell you about it at my place?" Karin asked hopeful. "Sure." Naruto said with a million dollar smile.
"You have a nice home Karin-chan." Naruto said as he took a seat at the table. "Thank you. The reason why I was surprised when you used chan is because I'm not liked here very much." Karin said with a frown. "Why not? You seem like a really great person to me?" Naruto replied truthfully. "It started when my mother was getting worse with her sickness, they um would do things to her but she never let them do it with me but since she has been gone they are getting impatient. I've hidden well for the most part but they will find me eventually." Karin explained with tears pouring down her eyes. Naruto got sick at the mention of people taking advantage of her mother and then wanting her after. He didn't realize but his body just went into action and grabbed her and pulled her to his embrace. It didn't take very long before she let sleep take her as she rested in Naruto's embrace she hadn't felt this safe since her mother was alive.
Back with team 7
Team 7 was making there way, Kakashi had a nice long talk with Tazuna about how misleading people is not very nice. He also told his team to stay alert he doubted the demon brothers would be the only one coming after Tazuna if what he told him was true. It didn't take very long for trouble to find them. "Everyone get down!" Kakashi yelled as a giant sword swung over the group. "Well if it isn't the famous copy ninja I feel honored. Guess you won't just hand over the bridge builder will ya?" Zabuza asked with a chuckle. "Zabuza Momochi Demon of the mist, well this just got interesting." Kakashi said activating his MS and pulling out a kunai.
Kakashi had no intention on playing games with an A-rank ninja not when he had genin to look after. In a stunning display of speed Kakashi was behind Zabuza and impaled him only to find out it was a water clone. "Not bad but you will have to do much better than that." Zabuza called out before he tried to slice Kakashi in half only to be met with a hard kick to the ribs. "Looks like you aren't the only one with clones." Kakashi said before leaving the missing ninjas vision. The three genin were watching the battle in amazement while sasuke had seen Kakashi spar he had never seen the man use a good portion of his skills before, needless to say he wasn't disappointed. "It's over!" Kakashi yelled as he was about to impale Zabuza with a lightning blade through the heart only for the man to move at the last moment causing the man to only graze his shoulder.
In the nearby forest
Zabuza will lose soon if I don't interfere, he will be pissed but I don't see a way for him to win this battle. Haku thought watching the fight. "Not as easy as you had thought huh?" Kakashi teased. "It isn't over yet leaf scum." Zabuza spat before rushing at the man. Suddenly a few senbon came out of nowhere and took down the rouge ninja. "Thank you for distracting him for me, I had been tracking him for quite sometime now." Haku said bending down to check a pulse. "No problem but I'll be taking the head he has quite the bounty, but I'll let you keep the sword and take it back to your village." Kakashi stated.
"Wait." Haku said before Kakashi was about to behead the man. "What is it." Kakashi asked curiously. "Look I'm not really a hunter nin I work with Zabuza, but before you do anything I want you to know something before you decide what to do with us." Haku said. "I'm listening." Kakashi replied. "Zabuza was a fiercely loyal ninja till our civil war started and when he tried to kill the fourth Mizukage and was banished and labeled rouge. I don't know how much you know of him but he was truly an evil man towards the end of his run. Once our new Kage took the seat she asked for a meeting with him, the object of this mission was for him to try and infiltrate the Akatsuki. That's why he has been working for Gato." Haku explained. "Do you know if she told the Hokage about this?" Kakashi asked. "I don't know." Haku answered truthfully. "I'll make you a deal considering Zabuza will be down for a while if you help us take out Gato and explain this to the Hokage when we come back I won't kill either of you." Kakashi said getting a nod right away.
Back with Naruto
Naruto knew he had to meet back with his team but he couldn't leave her so he sent a clone to go explain where he was to Asuma. While he was just sitting on the couch comforting Karin as she was sleeping he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was, he had a crush on Ino but in his eyes he didn't think anyone could match Karins beauty. "How long was I asleep?" Karin asked groggily rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "A few hours" Naruto said softly. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to bother you with all my problems." Karin said looking down. "Hey don't worry about it, I sent a clone to my Sensei to tell him about your situation you are coming back with us to the village." Naruto said with his signature smile. "How!?!?" Karin asked in amazement. "He told your leader that he would go straight to the Hokage and tell him how you and your mother were treated, which is ludicrous considering for all they knew you were the last of the Uzumaki." Naruto explained getting wrapped in a hug.
"I don't have much money to bring with me though I doubt I could afford a place to live." Karin said with a frown. "Jiji will give you a place to stay or you could stay with me." Naruto said nonchalantly. "You would let me stay with you? Don't you think I'm ugly?" Karin asked scared to hear the answer. "Karin don't you dare think like that, you are easily the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." Naruto replied making the girl turn as red as her hair, she truly felt happy maybe for the first time in her life. Without thinking she let instincts take over and kissed the blonde on his cheek. Naruto was shocked he had never had a kiss before by anyone other than Ayame and Kakashi when he was a baby.
"Hey Naruto do you know if your mother was in the main branch of the Uzumaki's?" Karin asked. "I don't really know, the only thing I know was that she was close to Mito when she came to Konoha." Naruto answered honestly. "She most likely was then, I just wanted to make sure we aren't to closely related ya know." Karin said with a laugh. "Yeah that could be awkward... wait do you want to be my girlfriend?" Naruto asked after realizing what she was getting at. "You aren't so bad yourself plus you are the only person besides my mother to call me beautiful." Karin said interlocking her hand in his. "Well I don't really know how to be a good boyfriend but I promise I'll do my best." Naruto said with a grin
A week later at the Hokage office
"Team 10 here with a mission report." Asuma said with three pre teens behind him. "Pick up a new genin Asuma?" Hiruzen asked. "Bit of a long story Ino, Sakura you guys can head off meet at the usual spot in two days." Asuma said before putting a cigarette and continuing on. He told the old man the situation Karin was in and that he used the Hokage is my dad card back in Kusa. "I see we will talk later Asuma you can go now." Hiruzen said while loading his pipe with tobacco. "Karin what exactly do you want to do?" Hiruzen asked softly. "Well I'm a sensor and I have a kekkai genkai that allows people to heal themselves just from bitting my arm. But I don't really enjoy fighting." Karin answered respectfully. "You don't have to choose immediately my dear, it seems you have taken a liking to my dear Naruto-kun here I suppose you'd like to stay with him?" Hiruzen asked. "Hai, he said he would run it by his father but he figured that his dad wouldn't care." She replied with a bow. "That works with me. Take care you two, Karin if you could come back in a month and tell me what you'd like to do I'll do my best to help dear." The old man said.
A/N- Hey guys bit of a long one here hope you guys enjoyed. The next chapter will most likely pick up with Kakashi bringing Zabuza and Haku back to the leaf. I had thought about pairing Naruto with Ino for a while but I like Karin and feel like she gets no love in most fics so I figured why not. Well that's it guys and girls peace!
