Alex swung round to face his brother in surprise. "What do you mean, finally?" He yelled. Then his brain, working at about five million miles an hour, figured it out.

"Oh."

"BROTHERS!" Tyson yelled. "It's good to see you again. Me and all my brothers in the forge worked together in the overtime to make your new tridents. They said to say hi. Hi! Here they are. Do you like them?" The big cyclops rambled. He then pulled out two long weapons, seemingly just out of the sea. He handed them to the two boys, who looked at them carefully.

The tridents had long handles made out of Imperial gold, which flared and then sharpened at the bottom to make a sharp spear head. The heads of the blades were beautiful, in a deadly way. The two side prongs were made out of celestial bronze, while the middle one was made out of silver, with a Damascus pattern on it. Percy couldn't even think of an animal that could resist all three types of metal used, and grinned.

But that wasn't even it. "We also added some capsules inside the shaft of the trident, one at the bottom, middle and top of the handle, and one in each prong. That way, since you can control water, you can make it fly and use it more easily!" The big guy said genially.

"Wow, thanks Tyson," Alex said in awe. "And tell the other cyclopes thanks as well."

"Yeah, this is amazing," Percy muttered too. "Hey Tyson you want to hang around with us for a bit?" He suddenly suggested, grinning up at his bro.

Tyson looked happy, but then immediately turned sad. "I would really want to, but we got a really big project coming up that I can't miss. Daddy's game room." He said sadly, but his voice turning to a whisper of excitement.

Percy and Alex grinned at their eager brother. "We'll see you around, then?" He asked hopefully.

"Around what? Daddy's castle?"

Percy facepalmed, laughing. "Never mind, Tyson. He means that we'll see you soon, right?"

"Of course, brothers! Goodbye!" He yelled, and jumped into the water. Percy would have placed a million dollars that he had Rainbow with him, and sure enough, the familiar whinny rang out.

Percy turned to Alex. "Shall we try these out, then," he said, pointing to their new weapons that were embedded in the sand. Alex looked around. It was evening, a whole 24 hours after the events at camp. He really wanted to, but he shook his head.

"Nah. Can we sleep first? I need some proper rest, not just the naps we got on the train." He said.

Percy looked at him sympathetically. He was used to going without sleep for ages, but Alex wasn't and on top of that was still fourteen. He must be fighting himself to not just drop on the sand and sleep.

"Sure. Let's go sleep in the sea, come on." He said kindly, and they walked into the surf. After swimming for about 5 minutes and asking a couple fish for some info on good places, they found a nice cave and lay down.

By this time Percy was drop dead tired as well. His instincts were screaming at him that something was wrong, but he was just so tired. His eyes closed, despite his sixth sense futilely trying to keep him up. Alex seemed fine, he reasoned, so nothing should be wrong. On the other hand, his brother definitely hadn't been...in as many... situations... as he...

Both Percy and Alex woke with a start. It was morning the next day, but something was off. Percy looked around. Was the cave shaking? He turned around, and then suddenly realised why his instincts had been going off so much last night. Obviously the cave looked just as cosy to other creatures.

The boys had spent the night sleeping in front of a gargantuan sea snake.

And it was waking up.

The boys shot wide eyed looks at each other and rocketed out of there as soon as possible. But it was too late. The snake's head lashed out and caught Alex in it's mouth, and quickly retreated back in. Percy brought Riptide and his new trident out, spinning them angrily, and was about to let loose on the monster when he suddenly saw something, and put them away. He leaned back and just let himself float around, watching on.

Soon enough, the sea snake started to thrash about wildly. Percy quickly saved a school of fish who were in the way, and they swam away at Flash speeds, all yelling, THANKS LORD, WE ARE OUT OF HERE, in different ways.

Percy settled back to watch again.

While this was happening, Alex was panicking inside the monster's maw. Then he calmed himself. He would prove himself to Percy by defeating the monster from the inside. First, he expanded Shifter vertically, pinning the tongue down into the bottom of the monster's mouth. He took his new trident off of his back and looked at it. He closed his eyes and felt for the water inside it. There!

Once he had a good control over it, he made the trident zoom down the monster's throat and into it's gullet. He then just made it start whirling and thrashing everywhere. He could feel the monster spasming around now, and took pity on it.

He made the trident go right through the snake's gullet, then started just slicing into every organ he could find. Soon enough he found the heart, and once he pierced it enough times the thing finally died. It's mouth relaxed as it floated downwards, allowing Alex to grap his spear and swim out, smiling happily.

That quickly turned into an angry frown when he saw his brother relaxing and watching while talking to some sharks.

He shot up to them. "Why didn't you help me?" He asked, somewhat petulantly.

After politely saying goodbye to the sea life he'd been conversing with, he turned to his brother. "I knew you had it under control when I saw it's eyes go wide in pain and surprise," he said, relaxed. "What did you do for it to be that surprised, stab it?"

"Yeah, that was the first thing," Alex muttered. "But still, what if I'd needed help?"

"Then I would've stepped in. But I needed you to gain some self confidence, which you seemed to judging by the smile you had on as you came out." Percy said, smiling fondly and mussing Alex's hair.

Alex smiled at that. "Well then, shall we go eat and start our training?" He said happily.

Percy smirked.

"Gladly."
