CHAPTER 11

"Bertolt, have you seen Annie? I didn't see her anywhere." A man with a pale blonde man and hazel eyes asked to the man beside him as they walked to search for a certain people.

"I haven't seen her too." The man named Bertolt reply with a slight worry in his eyes. A sweat dropped from his face when a scenario came into his head. He looked at the man beside him and gritted his teeth from the growing nervousness that is lingering to his chest in a rapid rate.

"Reiner... do you think she really did it?" He asked and his heart pounded more as he catch sight of Reiner's same amount of anxiousness. Bertolt averted his eyes back to the path as he let his mind wonder while clenching his hand into a fist when his friend didn't respond.

On the other hand, Reiner kept his full attention to the forest with his brows furrowed from anxiety. They come to this state all because when it was about seven in the morning, he was woken up by none other than Bertolt who seems in a hurry and said that both Annie and the strange man are gone. After they scattered to search the whole place for about a fifteen minutes, they decided to search together next to the place where there's more possiblity to find them.

They walked more in silence for the next minute until Reiner saw a moving shadow on the ground, so he looked up and found a blonde man whose back was facing towards them up in a branch of a tree, wearing a normal civilian clothes.

"...I think that's him." He said and slightly elbowed his companion who was still out of focused.

"Yeah, that's definitely him." Bertolt whispered back.

"Hey!" Reiner suddenly shouted, enough to get the man's attention. But the man just took a quick glance at them and returned back to his original position that annoyed the both of them.

"Hey! We're talking to you!" Reiner shouted more loudly that echoes to the place, while Bertolt just stand there cautiously staring at the man.

"If you're going to ask me who I am, like that girl, then this is the only thing that I can say... I don't have a name, I can't remember it." They both watched as the strange man shifted his position so he can face them while he spoke, and jumped down with no difficulty as if he has never been injured on the first place. The blonde man clasp his hands to the back of his head as he started walk away from them.

Their eyes both widened.

"Wait!" Reiner automatically ran after him to stop him from going any further, then grab his shoulder that successfully halt the man with no name, who just glance at him from a bored complexion then smirked. Reiner quickly took his hand from grabbing the other blonde's shoulder and glared.

"What?" The man asked calmly.

"Does the girl that you're talking about have a blonde hair and blue eyes? About this tall?" Bertolt asked while lifting his hand to describe Annie's height. His sweat is starting to come out as he imagined the scenario in his head.

"Yes." He said and attempted to continue his departure, but was stopped from his tracks when the man who grabbed him earlier spoke.

"Where is she? What did you do to her?" Reiner gritted his teeth. If what he's thinking is right, then..

He looked at Bertolt as if giving him a signal, Bertolt nodded for understanding and his heart is pounding more than ever. He clenched his hands. But the man infront of them just chuckled that came into a laugh and turned to face them while his hands are still behind his head. They gulped. The man leaned over and wiped the tears in his eyes while he stifled his own laugh.

"Haa.. I know what you're thinking, but I didn't kill her. It's funny because it's not even a minute since I woke up but that girl was already trying to kill me, and now you're suspecting me? Ahhh... I'm dizzy." They watched when the man slumped himself with his back on the ground with exasperation, and close his eyes as if he's trying to sleep. They sweatdropped when they glance at each other by the words that the man had just said.

"T-then where is she?" Reiner stuttered.

"How would I know? I don't even know this place." The man replied. They're brows both furrowed from confusion as they just stand there like an idiot.

"Then why are you here?" Reiner asked again while they remained to their standing position and looking down to the man.

"Don't know..." The man said then suddenly sat up that surprised the two who took a step back away from him like a scared puppy.

"By any chance... do you know who I am?" He asked and raised both of his brows as he looked at them while waiting for their reply.

"No." They both answered. The man brought his hand to his chin as he was in deep thinking and nodded slowly.

"Hmm. Is that so? Then you three are the ones who have found me and took me inside, right? Because you're the only people who seemed interested in me." He asked again and looked up at them.

Bertolt and Reiner gulped then nodded their head in unison. The man tsked his tounge from being right, he even muttered 'I see...', but his emotion quickly changed when he remembered something.

"What happened to me?" He asked with both his brows furrowed deeply.

"W-wait, you said earlier that you can't remember your name, why is that?" Reiner stuttered and blinked a few times in confusion. If this man, can't remember his name.. then does it mean, he can't remember what they have been planning too?

"Ah, After that girl left, the first thing that came to my mind is who the fuck am I, where the heck am I and what the hell happened to me, something like that... So when the sun comes up, I walked around to clear my mind a bit so the memories that I forgot will come back. But nothing happened, so yeah." The man casually narrated while crossing his arms on his chest while looking at them with a frown.

They both glanced at each other again with wide eyes. Is he saying the thruth?

"Y-you mean, you can't remember anything at all?" Reiner asked again to make it sure and the man just nodded. They sighed. Some of the nervousness engulfing them earlier leave their body one by one from the news.

"Well that's so..." Bertolt trailed, didn't know what to say.

"Yeah, I'm so fucked up." The man continued Bertolt's sentence and sighed. A silence came to them for a moment and was broke by the sulking man.

"So, what state am I in when you found me?"

"You have no any visible wound but you're unconscious, I think it is because you hit your head when you fall from a very high tree... and it's weird because here you are and seemed like you aren't unconscious for a week. I honestly thought that you can't even lift a finger when you woke up." Reiner explained while staring cautiously at the man who just nodded and gripped his head with a pained moan and leaned over to the ground in a hope that the pain will suddenly gone. But the two just stared without any intention to help the obviously hurting man.

"So that's why my head keeps hurting..." The man once again stood up but this time shakily, while his hand are on his temple. He looked the two in the eye with a serious expression who flinched. He sighed.

"Is the name Ruto weird?" He asked but saw the same confused expression from the two that only means one thing. He sighed again with exasperation.

"Give me a name." He commanded. The two became surprise from the sudden request. He raised his brows as he was waiting for their response when he saw them just glancing at each other from time to time.

"Ahhh..." They trailed.

"Forget it." He stated with disappointment while looking at the two, he crossed his arms and smirked when they, once again, flinched.

"You know, if you keep flinching like that because of me, then you have no chance of killing me... Tell me, is the reason why you three needed to kill me, is because I know something that I shouldn't know?" He said that made them looked horrified, his smirked grew wider. So he's right.

"Haa.. but don't worry, I can't remember anything so please stop being a scaredy cat. It's pathetic." With just that, the man walked away, leaving the two there standing and glaring at the man's back as he go out of the forest with such pride.

It's the day two of her secret operation. After Sakura finished eating after Bea left, she, Petra and Oluo talked for a minute about herself. What she likes and hate, somethings about that. She's very thankful that they only talked about that because if it's something that needed a story telling, she will really just shouted at them that she's from another dimension. She's already done of making up a story that she didn't really know how to start.

When they are about to sleep, she excused herself for going to the bathroom and that's where she call for her clone and the rest is history. Now, she was on her destination, located at the giant forest, where it all began. She collected the information on where it is located when she once asked about it to Sandra, who said it was located near the Karanes district between wall Rose and wall Maria. Luckily she didn't found any titans wandering through the meantime, it will be a lot more easier this way.

She formed a handsign, and another clone of her came into existence, they look at each other and nodded, no words needed to speak out as their minds think the same way. Sakura headed to the west while her clone to the east, she fasten her pace as if she was being chase. She needs to hurry because they have a special training tommorow and they are to wake up at four o'clock in the morning, since that the giant forest is far from her training camp, it will take at least one and a half hour even if she ran with full speed.

Once in a while, she can see titans that was asleep on the ground when she was running from tree to tree fifteen meters above the ground. Bursting her chakra as soon as she came to her location, she already can feel a sudden tiredness to just sleep. Eversince she woke up earlier from that thirty minutes of sleep, she hadn't have the chance to continue it after they train all day. And now, it seems like she wouldn't had any sleep at all either.

She gritted her teeth. Bursting her chakra right now will take a lot of toll in her body, so she will have to do it manually. If only she knew the exact direction on where she appeared here, then she will save a lot of time. But the problem is all the direction that she looked at were all the same.

'Cha! I can do this!' She mused, motivating herself. She sprinted forward to the center of the forest, she wasn't sure if it is the location but her instinct said so, so she will do it. The moonlight had the difficulty to seep through the forest, so she squinted her eyes more as she goes deeper and deeper to the center of it. She just needs to be more extra careful if she didn't want to be a dead meat anytime, especially when this is the highest rate with the possibility engaging with titans.

"Don't fall asleep Sakura!" She shouted as she slapped her cheeks with both of her hands, she winced from the pain, but smiled at the same time as her sleepy mind became more focused than before.

"We saw him on a tree branch doing nothing, since we can't see you everywhere and you said you will kill him yourself last night, we thought that maybe he did something bad to you, so I called him and asked him questions. He said that he can't remember anything since he woke up, even his name. But before he leave, he said we didn't need to worry about our plan being spread out since he can't remember everything..." Bertolt narrated with a frown.

It was already night, they were outside far away from the others as they discussed what had happened today, of course they changed location in case that the man suddenly appears again. After Annie came back from the Stohess district, around seven in the evening, they immediately sneaked out to gather. Now they were in an open field with a bonfire in the center, away from the inns and the forest, this way they were sure that no one will hear them without their knowing.

Annie hardened her gaze to the fire as she let the information go into her head. She clenched her hand and looked at the unbelievably quiet blonde man beside her that was just staring to nothing. She stand up harshly as she grabbed Reiner's collar, she's so angry. If only this man let her kill the stranger from the first place then none of this would have happened. She gritted her teeth and looked at Reiner who's obviously terrified from her fury.

"This is all your fault Reiner... I am the only one who's doing all the dangerous work, while you're here sitting your ass off with some elders, planting and joking around like idiots! And because of you're stupidity, that man is still alive and if he is lying then we are all doomed!" She couldn't contain all of her rage as she shouted at Reiner from the top of her lungs and tossing him like a dull a the last word.

Annie watched him as she catched her breath, trying to stand since he fall from the log that he was sitting in. A frown is clearly written on his face while gathering her thoughts. Finally, he stood up, and stared blankly at the huffing woman infront of him.

"Annie... We both know that you can't do that. You can't just kill a man when you're still unsure if he is innocent or not." Reiner clenched his hands from both sides. He saw Bertolt already by their side trying to stop them if this fight continue to deepened.

"I can, because I have to. How about you? Do you became soft after you chit chat with some people here? Aren't you the one who decided to continue this plan from the first place even after Marcel died because of you too?!" Annie shouted back. She knew it was below the belt but she just can't take it anymore. Reiner's eyes widened with pain. She gritted her teeth.

"Hey that's enough, we can talk about this calmly, alright?" Bertold nervously stated as he grabbed Annie's shoulder but she only smacked it away and returned to her post. He looked at Reiner and gulped when he saw him out of focused and just staring on the ground with wide eyes.

"Reiner." He called him and Reiner snapped from his deep thought. He sighed.

"Earlier... he called me monster. He even knew that I am going to kill him. I originally planned to take him out of the barracks while he's unconscious and do the thing in the forest but when I came there he's already awake, and so my plan crumbled. He even said, If I'm going to kill him, then I should do it there." Their heads both snapped at Annie's direction as she suddenly talked. Their eyes widened in surprised.

Did he knew? They both thought.

Annie brought her face to her palms and tried to calm her breathing. Monster. A word that was bugging her since she left that evening. What did he mean by monster? Did he mean something more deeper than that? Or just an intuition of someone who is going to get killed?

"He mentioned something earlier... He said, 'Is the name Ruto weird?', when he noticed our faces he suddenly said to give him a name... After we didn't come up of anything, that's where he asked us if the reason do we needed to kill him is because he knew something that he shouldn't know." Bertolt stated. Saying about these smaller things is very important, they shouldn't miss a single thing. But a light chukle interrupted the silent sound of the night.

"Reiner, didn't you said that you're the who's going to kill him if he knew right? So.. what are you planning to do now? A treat or not, we need to silence him." Annie said with a mockery tone at Reiner as she sat there with her elbows on her knees. They watched when Reiner stayed quiet for a minute as he battled from his own thoughts.

"You're right... We must do it as soon as possible." Reiner looked up with a determination in his eyes. The man is seriously getting on their way, even if he doesn't really knew anything, they would feel so much safer if he's gone.

A moment of silence came as they let their mind wonder, but a faint sounds of footsteps that crushed the dried leaves can be heard that ain't far away from them. Their eyes widened in horror as their heads snapped to the direction.
