Disclaimer: I only own Kat and Ophelia.
Chica hummed to herself as she effortlessly moved around the kitchen. She was having a good day, Foxy complimented her on her cooking, Kat and Ophelia came to see her, and Bonnie trusted her enough to not hang outside the door.
Things were starting to look up.
She heard the door open which ruined her thinking and she hated being interrupted.
"Unless you're Kat or Ophelia, get out of the kitchen." She ordered without even turning around.
"Is that any way to talk teh a captain?" Foxy's voice was teasing.
Straightening up, Chica whirled to see Foxy in the doorway. She didn't see Kat behind him, something she found weird.
"I didn't know it was you," She said defensively. She attempted to look around him. "Where's Kat?"
"Binnacle." The captain shrugged. "Lass said she's not feeling well but wouldn't say what be wrong."
"She's probably hungry," Chica concluded. She stopped what she was doing to make a small snack for her friend.
"You girls are really close," Foxy observed thoughtfully.
"Grew up together." The blonde grabbed some meat and herbs. "When you've been around someone long enough you know what they're feeling and what they're thinking."
Foxy could respect that; after all, he grew up with Bonnie and Freddy. He walked over towards Chica and looked over her shoulder. "What are you making?"
"Just a small snack." Chica gave him a handwave. "I know what she likes."
"I'm sure you do." Without realizing what he was doing, he placed a hand on Chica's back and gave it a small rub.
"Wh-what are you doing?" Chica questioned, her face was turning red.
Blinking, Foxy removed his hand. "Nothing."
"H-Here's Kat's food." The blonde shoved some food in his hands. "Make sure she eats it."
Nodding, Foxy turned to leave. He glanced at Chica before leaving.
What just happened? Chica wondered. She pushed her food to the side before waving her hands at her face.
Foxy had put a hand on her back. What did that mean?
I don't think it means anything; he probably puts a hand on Kat's back too, maybe he did when she said she wasn't feeling well. She attempted to reason. She felt her face heat up in realization. Wait, he can't; Kat doesn't like being touched.
Shaking her head, she made a mental note to tell Kat and hope Ophelia didn't find out or else she would never hear the end of this. Although, Chica could get Ophelia back by pointing out her flirtatious behavior pre captured days.
Almost like he wasn't quite there mentally, Foxy carried the food back towards the binnacle.
Is Kat right? He questioned, he went up a flight of stairs and started down the hall. Do I like her? I mean if I didn't then why am I blushing? He fought the urge to groan. I hate it when others are right.
He was deep in thought that he didn't see Bonnie in front of him until they collided. He juggled the food before catching it in his hands.
"I'm so sorry!" Bonnie exclaimed. He held his hands out to steady his friend. "Is something wrong?"
"What makes you ask?" Foxy questioned defensively. He mentally made a note to try to calm down.
"You look like you're thinking," Bonnie pointed out. He looked down at the plate. "What's the food for?"
"Kat, she isn't feeling well."
Concern flashed across the first mate's face. "She's okay, right?"
"She's fine." The captain stared at his friend. "Chica said she probably just got hungry."
With a serious nod, Bonnie remarked, "That's good."
Foxy moved past him, then as an afterthought, he turned back around. "Hey Bonnie."
"Hm?" Bonnie turned around.
Never being one to beat around the bush, the redhead got straight to the point. "You really like Kat, don't you?"
Gaping, Bonnie was at loss for words. "I-I don't know what you mean." He stammered.
"Don't play coy, I've seen how you look at her." Foxy's amber eyes glinted knowingly. "You seem very fond of her."
"She's a nice girl…" Bonnie closed his brown eyes thoughtfully. "She's adorable too."
"Why not tell her?" Foxy smirked in a teasing manner.
"Why don't you tell Chica?" Bonnie shot back quickly.
Foxy's smile dropped. "I asked first."
"What if she doesn't like me back?" Bonnie leaned against the wall in despair. "She's so beautiful but what if Springtrap broke her spirit?"
"Bonnie!" Foxy scolded in astonishment. He felt a need to defend the girl, he had spent a lot of time with her. Yes, she was quiet, but that didn't mean anything.
"Broke?" The voice was so soft that it was almost missed.
Foxy winced; he should have known that Kat would have come looking for him eventually or go to see Chica or Ophelia. Unfortunately, she had picked this moment to do so.
His own face full of dread, Bonnie turned to see the redhead girl behind him.
Foxy would never admit it but it pained him to see Kat's face. No matter how much she was trying to hide it, he could see the hurt look on her face as well as the tears threatening to spill from her green eyes.
"Kat," he said awkwardly. "He didn't mean—"
Without warning, the small redhead darted past them. Before Foxy could even blink, she was jumping down the stairs.
He had a pretty good idea of where she was going. And that wasn't a good thing.
"Hey, come back!" Foxy shouted nervously. He dropped the food and broke into a run after Kat. He knew Ophelia would be furious about the mess, but he had bigger problems. Like making sure the blonde didn't find out Kat was upset.
He knew this ship better than anyone so that made him confident he could catch her before she got to her destination.
"Kat!" Bonnie shouted, hot on Foxy's heels. He felt a stitch as he almost fell down the stairs "We just want to talk."
Just as Foxy was about to grab Kat, she stuck her hand out and used the wall to slide around the corner. Foxy swore he heard a giggle as he grabbed empty air; but he had to have been imagining that.
"Kat!" Foxy shrieked in frustration. He was starting to get nervous as he started sprinting.
Mike poked his head out from his stateroom in a dazed manner. "What's going on?" He inquired.
"Grab her!" Foxy commanded desperately.
Mike blinked in confusion, so Kat took that opportunity to grab him and shove him into Foxy and Bonnie causing the men to fall into a heap. "Sorry, Mike!" She called over her shoulder.
Foxy couldn't believe this girl was outsmarting him. Did the girls know the ship that well now that they could hide from him? He and Bonnie watched in dismay Kat dove into the kitchen at the end of the hall and slammed the door shut.
"Why didn't you grab her?" Foxy shouted in frustration at Mike.
"Why would I do that?" Mike inquired in confusion.
"Never mind!" Foxy pushed himself up. "Never would have guessed that she was that quick." He looked around. "I hope Ophelia doesn't decide to come by now."
Truthfully, he wasn't sure who he would rather had been dealing with between Kat and Ophelia. He pinched the bridge of his nose as he waited for whatever impending doom was to come.
