Chapter 26

I watch as Lucy walks into the front office, she was on her phone talking. Not sure with who. I smile to her and she smiles back to me as she walks over to me and Jellal. "Yeah Jellal and Natsu made an arrest already." She states into the phone and then the places the phone on the counter on speaker.

"What arrest did they make?" Laxus asks and I raise a brow. Why was Lucy on a call with Laxus?

"We made a drunk and driving arrest, unlike you." Jellal states into the phone and Lucy giggles as she moves to my side.

"One?" she asks and I nod my head to her.

"Yes so far one arrest." I reply and I watch as she bumps her hips to mine with a playful giggle.

"Well I got second place in the assault rifle shooting contest." Laxus states and I do remember that he wasn't here for the better part of this week, as he was attending a shooting contest. He would only be back in two days, so while he was having fun we were working.

"Second place? Good job." Jellal states as he pulls out some paper work to fill in for their docket.

"He should have gotten first place. He's a loser." Lucy states and at this she giggles again when her eyes meet mine.

"Whatever." I hear Laxus say from the other side and I finally take a good look at Lucy, some tight jeans and a nice top. She always looks so fucking good, like a snack, ready to be eaten.

If I played my cards right I would be getting what I have waited for, for the past eight months. Yes you know what I mean, I would be getting to fuck Lucy tonight if everything went my way. I made some plans and I hope to God that they would be working out.

"What time are you guys working tonight?" Laxus asks and for a moment Lucy has stepped away.

"Till 12." I answer as I book the blood kit into the evidence safe.

"Hopefully we finish at 12." Comes Lucy's perky voice as she reappears and then she smiles. "Well I got to go Laxus, speak to you later, some of us needs to work." Lucy states and before we can actually greet Laxus she grabs her phone and she ends the call. See you guys in the office in a few, still got 5 more hours before we get to go home.

At this I nod and Jellal waves to her, she turns on her heel and soon she is out of the front office and making her way towards her office, we would join her soon when we write up our dockets.

Moments later Jellal's phone rings, he pulls it out and it's a video call from Laxus, Jellal accepts and then we are faced with Laxus, who is drinking and surely already actually drunk. "What's up buddy?" I ask as Laxus struggles to keep the phone at face value while trying to hold a drink as well.

"Not much, got some tequila." Laxus states and at this I raise a brow. Laxus was drunk, and beyond any food to sober him up.

"Hmm, drinking?" Jellal asks as he looks to our friend.

"Yes" Laxus answers and I just raise my brow.

"You alone buddy or you got a girl with you?" Jellal asks and at this Laxus shakes his head and he shows us a view of the whole room he is in alone.

"You guys gotta take Lucy home early. I don't like her being there late." Laxus states and at this I raise my brow even further.

"She has to work with us, you know this." I say and at this Laxus gets a stern look on her face.

"Yeah but just take her home early. Okay!" Laxus says and I take a step back as I grab some more papers that has to go into the docket. "You guys better take her home and make sure she is safe and sound." He sounds more aggressive on the second part.

"Chill Laxus. It's not like she's going to come out and patrol with us and meet up with someone." Jellal states and I watch as Laxus thinks for a moment and then he looks at the camera.

"I just really like her and want to make sure she is ok." Laxus states, I frown he would never openly admit to liking someone, he was very private with his love life. "I think I am in love." Laxus states and at this I stop everything that I am doing and I look to my drunken friend then to Jellal. Something clicked in my head as I look down to the ground. Laxus was in love with Lucy, and I am pretty sure she knew it because for the past few weeks he would drive her around and buy her lunch and stuff. I bite back the snide remark I wanted to say and I shake my head.

What was happening? It was one thing cheating on Lisanna, it was another thing if Lucy was playing Laxus and fucking around with me.

After some talking between Jellal and Laxus I grab at the phone. "We will take her home after we finish these statements ok?" I say and at this Laxus just smiles and nods his head.

True to my word after our paperwork we went to Lucy and told her that we would be taking her home. She was rather unhappy about it as she got into the back of the car and we drove her home. But I think it was the better option.
