Holmes assessed the scene, perplexed,

He could not quite believe his eyes.

Hopkins and Lestrade had caught

The culprit, to his great surprise.

The case had vexed the Great Detective,

Puzzled him in many ways.

How had Scotland Yard succeeded;

Solved it in a few short days?

Holmes glanced round the bustling station,

No one there seemed out of place;

A group of lads, a prim young lady.

Who had helped to crack this case?

The prim young lady murmured softly,

"Common sense is all you need..."

Brushed past Holmes, to head for home;

Her cottage in St Mary Mead,
