Crystal P.O.V.

"AMARILLO! CRYSTAL! WHERE ARE YOU?" Chuck roars, making me twitch in surprise. I'm tucked securely under a bush in the open, so if an earthquake strikes, I'll be safe and sound. (Or, that's the idea. It hasn't been tested yet—and I don't intend for it to be tested! EVER!)

"YOU STILL NEED TO BATTLE!" Chuck bellows.

The battle's still on? Even though we just experienced an earthquake? I frown and scold myself. Of course we're still battling. It's Chuck.

I'm staying here. I refuse to move. I don't want to die. Not today. NOPE!

"YES! WHAT CRYSTAL SAID!" A cry that sounds like Amarillo's voice comes from the center(ish) of the forest. Wait. Did I just shout that out? Dang. This…is going to be interesting.

"YOU'RE BATTLING NOW!" Chuck insists.

I would really rather not die. NO THANK YOU!

"EXACTLY WHAT CRYSTAL SAID!" Amarillo calls. Wait. Did I just yell that out loud? Oh no! Forget interesting—this will be more like torture!

"COME BACK HERE OR YOU'RE ALL GETTING FAILING MARKS!" Chuck thunders.

Failing marks? How could Chuck make me decide between my life and getting an F in Battle Training A?! Nooo…I hate impossible choices…!

Chuck isn't finished. "AND YOU'LL GET A FAILING MARK FOR EVERY CLASS I TEACH!"

That decides it! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WHYYYY MEEEEEEEEE? I reluctantly stand up and brush myself off. I can't get consistent F's in Chuck's classes—that'll ruin my reputation as a widely respected alchemist!

"FIIINE, COMING!" I call, grumbling to myself as I pick my way through a particularly thick swath of shrubbery.

"EXCELLENT, CRYSTAL! AMARILLO, COME HERE!" Chuck boomed.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Amarillo moaned.

"AMARILLO!" Chuck frowned and his gaze turned darker.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" was the only response he got.

"I'M COMING TO GET YOU IF YOU DON'T COME HERE NOW!" Chuck roars.

Amarillo screeches. "NO! BLUE! SILVER! HELP!"

"THAT'S IT! I'M OFF TO GET YOU!" Chuck shouts, right as the earth rumbles.

Oh no, oh no no no no, I knew it! I just knew there was going to be an earthquake! I scramble back to my lovely bush. The earth continues to rumble, though this isn't as bad as the first one. This is is more of an aftershock. Phew.

"AMARILLO!" Chuck roars, continuing his path towards Amarillo's voice.

No response. Smart girl — wait, where did that come from? Amarillo is a boy. Stupid me.

The earth howls beneath my feet, shaking and quaking, and I hear at least one tree topple in the mini forest. Uh-oh. Looks like things are getting more serious. I grab onto the branches of the bush, trying to keep my balance.

"AMARILLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Chuck screeches

There's only a (very loud) snore.

What? Wait. Is he SLEEPING?!

Actually, that's pretty smart. I'll follow his lead!

Chuck P.O.V.

"AMARILLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I shout at the top of my lungs.

A very loud snore comes back. No sleeping in my class! Then a snore comes from Crystal's side. She's sleeping too?! NO! I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPpeN!

"YOU WILL WAKE UP THIS INSTANT OR ELSE YOU WILL GET A FAILING F FOR YOUR GRADE!" I bellow.

A chorus of snores is their only response. More snores join in. What?! Is everyone else sleeping, too?! NO! "THAT'S IT! YOU'RE ALL GETTIN' F'S!"

Snores. All snores. Then an "Eh?"

"Huh?"

"Wuzzgoinon?"

"Lemmesleep."

"Hah?"

"Wha?"

"Hmm?"

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Amarillo shrieks.

"HUH?" I ask.

"I think he's screaming about having to fight," Blue says, dropping down from a tree.

"WELL YOU'RE GOING TO BE FIGHTIN' IN EVERY CLASS, SO GET USED TO IT!" I holler.

There's a pause. Then, "If you agree to my conditions" is what Amarillo says.

"AND WHAT'RE YOUR CONDITIONS?" I boom dangerously. I can take it, if Amarillo's conditions are reasonable. If they're not, HE FAILS IN THIS CLASS! AND EVERY OTHER CLASS I TEACH!

"That you won't make me fight every other time."

WHAT! OUTRAGEOUS! F'S FOR THE PIPSQUEAK!

"NO! NOPE! NO WAY!" I bellow. After rattling off more words that mean "no," I finally calm down a bit. "No," I finish firmly.

"You only had to tell me once," Amarillo grumbles. "Well, I'm NOT FIGHTING."

"YES! YOU! ARE!" I proclaim to the heavens.

"NEVER!" He hisses.

"YES! YOU! ARE!" I shout out to the whole world.

"NO! NEVER!" It comes from somewhere way up high.

"ALWAYS!" I yell back. "COME DOWN HERE, MISTER!"

"YOU. CAN'T. MAKE ME!" Amarillo screams.

"YES! I! CAN! AND! WILL!" I scream back, releasing my Pokemon.

"THEN COME AND GET ME! IF YOU CATCH ME I'LL FIGHT!" Amarillo belts out.

My Hitmontop drills through the tree Amarillo is in, making him fall down, but still clutching the top of the tree and his hat. The moment he comes tumbling down, my Hitmonlee wraps Amarillo up with his long, elastic limbs. "GOTCHA!" I triumphantly declare. "NOW FIGHT CRYSTAL!"

"Fine…" He grumbles, glaring HARD at me.

"CRYSTAL!" I yell. "COME OUT HERE OR YOU'RE GETTING THREE FAILING MARKS IN A ROW!" Crystal's easy to convince.

"YESSIR!" she shouts hurriedly, running back. The rest of the class is slowly coming back too, hands clutching their ears.

"Now, fight!" I order.
