Disclaimer: I don't own General Hospital or the characters, just this storyline.
Hey, y'all, I'm so sorry, I haven't updated in a while because I've been going through a really tough time lately, and during this time, I was just not myself and I lost interest in everything, and I mean everything. But I'm back now. Enjoy!

Carly could feel her eyelids fluttering. Once. Twice. Three times. Finally, she fully opened her eyes and looked around. She could see the white room she was in. Beep beep beep. She could hear the consistent beeping of her heart monitor. Her eyes landed on a figure sitting in a chair. When her eyes focused, she smiled to herself. Jason. She thought. Carly sighed. Jason's eyes immediately flew open, as if he were waiting to hear even the slightest sound. His head whipped over to the hospital bed, and seeing that Carly was awake, he approached her cautiously with his hands up.

"Carly, I won't hurt you, I promise," Jason said. "I won't hurt you." He stressed slowly. Carly cocked her head to the side. Why was he repeating this? "Why do you keep saying that?" She asked, barely audible, but Jason, being so tuned in to her, caught it. It was Jason's turn to be confused. "Are-aren't you afraid of me?" He replied in shock. Carly shook her head. "Why would I be afraid of you?" She asked again. "Don't you remember what happened?" Carly nodded her head. "It wasn't you that did it to me." She told him. Jason nodded. Carly reached out to him, and Jason quickly rushed over to her, taking her into his arms. "I need to go get the doctor Carly," Jason said, moving away. Carly nodded her head, watching Jason leave. Shortly after, he came back in with Patrick. "Carly, I am so glad to see you awake. You scared everyone. How do you feel?" He asked her. "I feel just peachy Patrick," Carly said sarcastically. Jason and Patrick chuckled.

"I guess that was a stupid question, wasn't it?" He remarked. Carly nodded pointedly. "How about this, on a scale of one to ten, how much pain are you in?" Patrick revised. She winced. "About an eight." She lied. Truth was, Carly felt like she was in hell with the amount of pain she felt. Patrick nodded. "I'll get the nurse in here to bring you some meds, that should help." He said professionally. He walked out, after promising to send the nurse in. Carly shifted on the bed, trying to get comfortable, but instantly regretted it. The tiny little move sent her gasping for breath. Jason rushed over to her side. "Carly, why did you lie?" He asked her. Carly knew Jason would know she was lying. "I want to get out of here as soon as possible. If I seem like I'm in less pain, then they'll send me home to Joss and Morgan sooner." She gritted out.

Jason sighed and shook his head. He helped her settle herself so that she was as comfortable as she could possibly be, given the circumstances. Once she was settled, Jason sat down beside her, trying to be as careful as possible, so that he wouldn't hurt her. "Jason?" Carly said quietly after a few moments of silence. He looked down at her, gazing into her eyes. Carly's breath caught in her throat, at seeing so much intensity in his gaze. A million emotions flitted across his face, but the two that stuck out were fear and relief. Fear that she was going to ask him to leave, and relief that she was okay. "How long was I out?" She asked.

Jason sighed and looked away from her, his attention going to the door. "Two weeks." He replied coldly. Not meaning to, Carly let a tiny whimper escape her throat. Jason quickly turned back to her. "What's wrong?! Are you in pain?!" He asked frantically. He suddenly stopped, realizing she was afraid of him. "I'm sorry Carly, I just didn't like watching you, knowing you couldn't respond to me. I couldn't stand it." He explained. With those words, the memories of the words Carly heard while she was out, returned to her. "I love her mom, and I don't think I ever stopped."

There ya go. I'm still not 100% at my best, but I'm not going to slip away again.
