Bounding back into the classroom, Shoyo could see Mr Takeda standing at the podium at the front of the room.
"Good afternoon!" he announced his arrival.
Mr Takeda looked up. "Ah, Hinata. Can I help you?"
Shoyo cocked his head to the side. "I thought hero training was starting soon?"
Mr Takeda laughed, pushing a few papers into a manila folder. "It's not starting for another half hour. You still have lunch."
Shoyo sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, I know. I was also kinda wondering if…"
"Yes?"
"Can you tell me who's teaching hero training?"
"Can you tell me why you want to know?"
Shoyo twiddled his thumbs, avoiding eye contact with the teacher. "Uh, uhm, so I can, uh…" he looked at the ceiling. "Prepare!" he shouted suddenly. "Yeah, so I know who's teaching so I can ask around and see what the teacher's like and stuff."
"Uh-huh," the teacher drawled in a suspicious manner. "Well, I can assure you that the teacher is not Tiny Giant."
Shoyo's face fell before picking back up into a disappointed smile. "Oh. Okay. Is he teaching this year, though?"
Mr Takeda only chuckled. "You'll have to see. You can sit in here, for now, if you want."
Shoyo nodded, heading to his seat. "So, uh," he muttered, twiddling with his hands, "who is going to teach hero training?"
"You'll have to see that, too."
Shoyo waited. And waited. And waited. Waiting was painful. Shoyo knew this from first hand experience. The most pain that he had ever experienced never came close to the pain of waiting. And waiting for hero training was the worst for a hyperactive high school student. He waited, until, finally, other students started filtering in. First was Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. They gave him weird looks as it looked like he vibrated in his seat. Then came Kuribayashi, who rushed straight to her seat. Then came Haiba and Koganegawa, who were in a conversation, or rather, fight, over who could beat who in a battle. Then came Kindaichi and Hyakuzawa, who were talking as normally as a person could. The conversation even sounded a little bland. After that, Shoyo's friend group stumbled through the door. Somehow, Yachi had ended up in the middle of a fistfight between Kageyama and Inuoka.
As soon as everyone sat down, Mr Takeda cleared his throat to quiet everyone. "Alright, you all had your written classes earlier today. The only class you have left is hero training." He paused, probably for effect. "Your teacher is...drumroll please." He waited again, and yet, no drumroll came. He cleared his throat again. "It's number three hero, Coach!"
The classroom was still silent, but the silence was different. This was the silence of expectation and excitement.
"Hey, newbies!" a loud, gruff voice rang throughout the classroom.
A/N: Hey, guys! Yet another kinda boring chapter. I'm sorry, I haven't read through my story in a while. Anyhoo, hope you enjoyed anyway. Also, happy holidays! Might as well say it now that I remember.
