Shadow x Rouge; Agents In Love
Chapter Eleven: An Interesting Time At The Lake
Two days after hiking in Pearl Mountain, Shadow met up with his girlfriend at Sapphire Forest for a little nature walk of some kind. Before entering the woods, the couple took their time to appreciate the scenery.
Shadow smelled the sunflowers and so did Rouge as she watched a group of birds nesting in the nearby trees, the sun in the sky shone bright as white clouds rolled past and a warm gust of wind blew, taking a few tree leaves with the breeze.
Holding hands, the two entered the woods with Rouge seemingly leading the way for some reason. Shadow wondered why Rouge was leading the way and what was with the bag in her hand, did she discover another gemstone cave?
Merely thinking about the idea nearly made the dark hedgehog roll his red eyes, he and the bat had been on enough dates involving gemstones for a while. Maybe she discovered a Chao Garden and there was Chao food in Rouge's bag perhaps?
Whatever was going on, Shadow decided to go with the flow and put his arm under the white bat's arm, not even saying a word and deciding to wait until Rouge had showed him what she wanted to show him.
Leaves and fallen tree branches crunched under Shadow and Rouge's feet as they strolled along, the sounds accompanied the tweeting of birds and the rustling of bushes as raccoons and squirrels scurried along in the forest.
A few skunks minding their own business occasionally emerged, not bothering the Ultimate Life Form or the gem thief. Those critters probably knew if they sprayed, it would probably provoke Shadow into unleashing his powers.
Rouge led Shadow through a brush that lead towards a clearing and, just up ahead, through a thicket of trees, the dark hedgehog could see a body of water. He and the bat made their way out of the rows of trees, setting foot into the clearing.
Now they had their full view of the area and, of course, the lake. The whole place was a sight to behold, prune bushes, a small beach-style sandbar, pine trees and crystal clear water with a waterfall nearby, connecting to a mountainside.
"What is this place?" Shadow was curious, he'd seen lakes before, but this felt different. Rouge kissed the black hedgehog on the cheek and said, "Shadow, this is Crystal Lake, one of my favorite places to visit. You can go swimming here."
Before Shadow knew it, the white bat had dragged him onto the sandbar. She removed her shoes and walked a few paces into the water, feeling it and sighing happily. The bat looked at Shadow and took his hand, looking into his red eyes.
"I take it you set up a swimming date for us." The half-alien said, seeing where this was going. Rouge put down her bag, unzipped it and pulled out a set of blue and gray colored swim trunks with white linings before handing it to Shadow.
Shadow took the swimsuit and looked at it, turning his back to Rouge, who pulled something else out of her bag and started to undress. The dark hedgehog thought for a bit, he had not planned this out, but Rouge had. He may as well go along.
He removed his rocket shoes and his white socks before putting on the swimsuit, the only articles of clothing that stayed on were his white gloves and two inhibitor rings. Shadow knew that if those came off, his powers would go wild.
A whistle from behind made the dark hedgehog turn and he froze, struggling to prevent his mouth from foaming and drooling as he absorbed the scene of Rouge wearing a revealing purple string bikini, that showed off her figure, and striking a pose.
"You like what you're seeing, sweetie?" The bat asked, she walked up and pressed her body against Shadow's, seductively putting her arms around him.
"Er," Shadow began, "You look... stunning."
Rouge laughed sarcastically, "Come on, you've seen me in outfits like this before? Don't tell me you forgot what I was wearing the day at the coffee shop and also forgot you saw me in my sports outfit at the Extreme Gear Grand Prix?"
"Er, no. Its just..." The dark hedgehog shook his head, "You look nice."
The bat tugged on his arm and whispered, "Lets go for a swim already, handsome."
Reaching behind herself, the bat pulled a floatie out of hammer space and gave it to Shadow, who slipped it around his waist. The dark hedgehog hoped his sharp spikes didn't accidently pop the floatie.
Admittedly, Shadow nearly felt embarrassed about having a floatie while swimming since it was for kids. The dark hedgehog decided not to complain aloud and just brood about it silently, he did not want to hurt his girlfriend's feelings.
Shadow shook himself out of his trance in time to notice Rouge leading him into the water, with her back turned to him, the black hedgehog reached down and playfully pinched her tail, which sent a shiver up Rouge's spine and she hunched her shoulders.
In seconds, the two were halfway in the lake, the water had risen up their legs all the way up to their waists. Rouge kneeled and dove in, moving her arms back and forth while kicking her legs up and down before turning to swim on her back.
Following along, Shadow hopped into the water and moved his arms back and forth while kicking his legs too, swimming and dog paddling around the area. Rouge playfully splashed the dark hedgehog, getting his already wet quills more wet.
A nearly surprised Shadow looked at the giggling, bikini-clad bat and a smirk formed on his face before he moved his arm and splashed Rouge right back, leading to a splash fight with the two.
"Look out, Shaddie." Rouge called before she sent a wave of water heading Shadow's way. The Ultimate Life Form raised his arm to shield his face from getting splashed, not long after, he felt a splash from behind followed by a tap on the shoulder.
Shadow wheeled around to see Rouge behind him, in the seconds after she'd splashed his face, the bat had dove underwater and swam under him before turning around and surfaced behind the black hedgehog in preparation for a sneak attack.
An unprepared Shadow gasped as a giggling Rouge pounced on him and started tickling him, leading to a little tickling and wrestling match that ended with Rouge dunking Shadow underwater.
Just before her boyfriend could surface, Rouge dove underwater and caught Shadow, as he was about to rise, and put her arms around him as they went down towards the lake floor. Halfway down, Rouge gave her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.
With bubbles surrounding them, Shadow and Rouge swam back to the surface, soaking wet. The dark hedgehog smirked and crossed his arms, chuckling, and the white bat ran her hands through her hair and giggled.
HISSSSSSSSS! Just then, water splashed everywhere and a shadow fell over the two dating agents. Both bat and hedgehog looked up, their hearts thumping intensely as they looked into the menacing, orange eyes of a humongous snake.
The snake didn't look like any ordinary snake, while it did have the face of a snake, it seemed to look like a giant worm-leech with scaly skin and a head reminiscent of some kind of snake. The lake monster bared its fangs and roared menacingly.
"Get behind me!" Shadow instructed Rouge, he was going to protect her no matter what. This snake had its eyes on the bat more than the hedgehog! Roaring again, the snake lunged for the two, its mouth open wide as the creature prepared to bite.
"CHAOS SPEAR!" Shadow channeled his Chaos Powers and threw a green energy spear at the beast, hitting it behind the teeth in its upper mouth area. The snake reared back, coughing and growling, hissing even more.
When the reptile recovered, the snake closed its mouth and glared at the dark hedgehog, eyes blazing with hatred for the Ultimate Life Form. Rouge swam for the shore as fast as possible, leaving Shadow to fight the snake alone.
Placing a hand around his inhibitor rings, Shadow began to adjust them as he looked up at the monstrosity, feeling his powers grow a bit. "I haven't had a challenge in a while," The dark hedgehog mused, "Even though there is no challenge."
The snake hissed, venom dripping from its mouth and not even affecting the lake. "You think you stand a chance against me?" Shadow growled, confronting the snake, "I don't think so, you damn reptile.
"You could've minded your own business, But no, instead, you just had to try to get your venomous fangs on my girlfriend and you challenged the Ultimate Life Form. You're not going near her, I'll make sure of it, you cold blooded bastard of a snake!"
"HISSSSSSSSSS!" Shadow heard the snake hiss again, it was go time.
"Sha-dow, Sha-dow, Sha-dow!" Rouge quietly chanted, rooting for the dark hedgehog to beat the snake. She got out some pom poms, waved them and did some dancing, adding a few cartwheels and backflips to the mix.
His Chaos powers surging, an aura surrounded Shadow and he lifted out of the water as if he had his rocket shoes on. The dark hedgehog's red eyes crackled with energy while the snake's eyes blazed, this monster was not going to back down one bit.
Shadow's floatie fell off the Ultimate Life Form's waist and floated over to Rouge by the shore, she picked it up and held on to it as she sat down, eager to see how the fight would go down. She'd already thrown in her bet.
Emitting another angry hiss, the snake lunged for the dark hedgehog and tried to bite him, only for Shadow to evade. Before the beast could rear back, the dark hedgehog lunged and hit the snake in the left side of the face with a kick and a punch.
"RRRRRRGH!" Shadow's attack seemed to do the trick as the snake growled angrily and glared at the hedgehog, gritting its fanged teeth and its whole body shaking. Shadow crossed his arms, giving his foe a taunting smirk.
Growling, the snake lunged and attempted to head-butt Shadow, only for him to use Chaos Control and warped out of the way, teleporting under the snake's chin. Shadow socked the reptile in the jaw, dazing it and headed up to kick the beast in the head.
"AHR AHR! KRRRRSSSSSSSSSS!" The Lake Drakon grunted and hissed, feeling the pain as Shadow wailed on him. Rouge excitedly pumped her fist as she dried herself off with a towel and got out a Chaos Soda bottle, taking a sip of the refreshing drink.
Shadow reached into hammer space and pulled out an explosive device just as the snake opened its mouth, the dark hedgehog tossed the explosive inside the creature before it could close its mouth and Shadow pressed a button.
KER-POOF BOOM! The bomb detonated somewhere past the mouth inside the snake's body and the creature started to cough and gag, smoke billowing out of its mouth. "Hmph, not so tough are we?" Shadow sneered, almost feeling sorry for the snake.
Sensing that the explosion had weakened his foe, the dark hedgehog went all out, beating up the snake and throwing Chaos Spear into the mix, landing blows all over its entire body despite the fact that scales could protect the creature from anything.
"HIYAH!" Shadow warped in and kicked the snake on both sides of its face before warping inside its mouth and shouted, "CHAOS BLAST!" The explosion dazed the snake as teeth dropped out of its mouth into the water along with drops of blood.
"Yes!" Rouge cried, leaping to her feet. She was so happy Shadow had beaten the creature. The Lake Drakon groaned in pain and fell back into the lake, slithering away slowly and weakly, it would be a long time before it healed its wounds.
A satisfied Shadow smirked as he watched the creature retreat right before tiredness came over him and his Chaos energy simmered, the dark hedgehog dropped into the lake like a rock as he rubbed his head. All that energy used up, he needed to recharge.
Watching this, Rouge ran into the water, dove in and swam over to Shadow. She wrapped her arms around him, placed his arm around her neck and swam with him back to shore. "That was quite a fight, Shadow." She whispered.
In just a few minutes, Shadow lay on his back near the water on the sandbar as Rouge sat next to him. "How are you, handsome?" She asked.
Shadow grunted, "I'm ok, just tired, that fight took much out of me." He smiled and held Rouge's hand, "I'm glad you weren't hurt."
The bat lay atop him and pressed her body against his, placing her hands on the side of his head and looking into Shadow's eyes as he stared back at her. Rouge smiled sweetly and the dark hedgehog put his arms around the bat, holding her closer to him.
Rouge slowly pulled Shadow into a kiss and he kissed back, the bat grasped the sides of his head and he ran his hands across her upper back, fiddling with her wings before caressing her tail and moved his hands along Rouge's firm hips.
They engaged in a bit of French kissing, deepening their make-out, their eyes closed and tongues wrestled as the two lovers hugged one another closely. For three long minutes, Shadow and Rouge kissed and kissed, expressing their love for each other.
Finally, they stopped to breathe and their eyes opened. Green and red eyes met, then, they nose nuzzled and softly butted heads. 'I love you,' They told each other...
