CHAPTER 10: AFTERMATH.
(POV: Thomas.)
After I collapsed from exhaustion, all I could see was just black and nothing more. I didn't know HOW long I was out for, but when I awoke, I found myself back in my room.
"How did I get here?" I asked within my thoughts. "Wasn't I in another realm?"
Before I could make sense of what happened, I eyed over towards my right and froze as I saw a certain magicborn sleeping next to me.
"Oh my gosh! Lady's in MY bed! Oh, I hope Mum and Dad don't find out!"
As I looked at Lady, I just froze and didn't make any sudden moves. For this moment was very embarrassing and flustering.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As Thomas looked on in shock, Lady opened her eyes and too gave an expression of shock as she saw where she was. Now very embarrassed and flustered as well, Lady jolted off the bed, and blushed as she then spoke to Thomas.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I-I must've fallen asleep while tending to your wounds."
"U-uh n-no problem." Thomas stammered as his face was red with embarrassment. "J-just please, don't bring it up to anyone."
Lady just nodded, for she was still very embarrassed over what she did. After the morning's embarrassing incident, Thomas went downstairs to the training room, to find Billster using Blue-Spark. As the 15 year old then watched, Billster swung the legendary sword, as it's blade glowed brighter and brighter, until the blade ignited into a blue flame. As Billster then slashed the training dummy, it burned down into ashes. As the 14 year then sheathed his new sword, Thomas watched over with a smile across his lips.
"Trying out the new sword I see?" He asked.
"Yeah." Billster replied as he then spotted his brother. "It feels so nice to hold, and really well balanced too. It's as if Blue-Spark was a sword meant for me."
"I can tell.." Thomas chuckled in response. "Seeing how well you wielded it back there. anyway.." He went on. "Billster, is it possible that you and I can have a go at it? you know, like the old times?"
Billster gave a great smile as he heard Thomas's question.
"Sure. I'll be more than happy to duel you, brother. Just let me put Blue-Spark up somewhere first, and then I'll get the wooden swords."
"Right."
As Thomas then waited, Billster left the room to put his new sword away. Once he returned, the 14 year-old gave Thomas one of the swords, and then gave a smile as he then pulled out a special coin out of one of his pockets. This coin that he pulled out was pretty much worth nothing, nor made of anything valuable or powerful, but was meant to start off duels between sorcerers. As the 14 year-old got ready to drop it, he smirked cheekily at his brother.
"Don't you dare go easy on me, Thomas." He said. "Or I'll certainly kick you butt."
"Oh-ho! Going there, Billster?!" Thomas quizzed jokingly. "You certainly picked up some sass, since we last saw one another."
As the two brothers then laughed, Billster dropped the coin, and the duel began as both swords glowed a blue light of a sword spell. Later, Thomas went over to the Allcroft's palace to meet up with Lady there. As he arrived, he overheard a conversation that she was having with her father, Jackland.
(POV: Thomas.)
"Are you sure that he's really the one from that prophecy?"
"Yes, father. I saw him wield IT with my very own eyes. He even had the armor of pendragon upon him."
"Um... what prophecy?" I quizzed, as the king and princess then noticed that I was there.
"The one of the child of Avalon." The king replied. "One about a noble who will inherit the holy sword of the king of Camelot and will be the one destined to decide the long going war between Mordred and Arthur."
"I see." I commented. "So this is what Arthur was referring to back then." I then said to myself as I thought back. "Dang, I got a long road ahead of me."
As I then looked back at Lady and her father, another question stuck my mind.
"So.. what is it that you want me here for, your majesty?"
"Well..." The king began. "As you may know, Lady's mother and I had collected many legendary artifacts to ensure that they would never fall in the wrong hands. Amongst these artifacts, we have the very scabbard of Excalibur."
"It's scabbard?!" I exclaimed in shock.
"Yes." Lady replied. "And that's why I wanted him to bring you over: So you can be given the scabbard for Excalibur so you don't have to summon it every time when you're going to wield it."
"I see." I replied as I then was handed a blue scabbard with golden details. "I promise that I'll put it to good use."
"I know you will." She then said to me as I then sheathed my new sword. "You're a great man, Thomas and I know for a fact that you'll do ANYTHING to protect your home."
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As Thomas then smiled and nodded, he bowed respectfully to Lady and her father, before saying his farewells and turning heel. As the nobleman left, he didn't know that the next adventure was just waiting for him and his friends in a realm winter never leaves and a silver sword with a slight demonic aura is waiting to be retrieved.
THE END.
The sword will be retrieved in the Demon Frost Arc.
