Losing My Religon
The five interns were lined up in Dr. Webbers office. He had a fairly good idea of who did it, but he didn't have concrete proof. He couldn't cut them all, and he knew only one of them did it so he waited for a confession.
The room was so silent you could hear a pen drop.
Suddenly Izzie said in a dull voice "I did it I cut the LVAD wire."
"No umm... I did it. I cut the LVAD wire" George said.
Dr. Webber looked at Meredith expecting her to do the same thing but to his surprise she didn't.
"I don't know who did it I wasn't in the room I was paged after the wire was cut. I don't know who did it." Meredith said shrugging her shoulders. She wasn't going to risk her career covering for Izzie, but she wasn't going to throw her under the bus either, so she said that.
Webbers gaze shifted from Meredith to Cristina.
"I don't know who did it. Burke sent me to check on a Mr. Duquette and when I arrived his LVAD was cut." Cristina said in a monotone. Her response slightly mirroring Mers. She didn't know why she didn't just say Izzie did it ,but it was like there was some force preventing her from saying Izzie did it so she said she didn't know.
Webbers gaze finally shifted to Alex
"It wasn't me man I was at an entirely different hospital" Alex said almost Indifferently. It's not like he didn't care. It's just that why should he cover for Izzie when she basically cheated on him with a heart patient. So, he told it how it was.
"Guys" George whispered to all three of them.
"What I didn't do Anything" Alex said shrugging his shoulders.
"PEPOLE" Dr. Webber shouted attempting to get the groups attention. "Now I know who did this. "
"Um actually sir" George said raising his hand "If you knew you wouldn't be asking"
"You have you suspicions" Meredith said dully "And you can't make a decision based on suspicions"
Richard let out a defeated sigh because Meredith was right, he couldn't make a decision on suspicions and he knew two people couldn't have cut the wire.
Richard stood up and walked around them not really expecting this to make them crack but it couldn't hurt. These were the closest group of interns hed ever seen, Karev, Grey and Yang were the closest of them all and he knew he wasn't going to get them to crack so he tried one more time. "One of you compromised a patient's life. One of you stole an organ. One of you jeopardized the integrity of this hospital and of U.N.O.S. Now you tell me who did it and you tell me right now" he yelled. Silence was he surprised ...no was he angry...yes. "Alright Fine"he said trying to sound calm. He had a much better plan. "No surgeries".
"What" Cristan said turning around her jaw dropped.
"You heard me No surgies until one of you comes clean. Don't even go near the OR floor you all share one patient Camllie Travis. Now out of my office"
The five interns walked out of the office heads hung low
"I'll tell him" Izzie blurted as soon as they got out of the office.
"No keep your mouth shut" Meredith wheeled around turning to face the rest of the group "All of you keep your mouths shut."
"Thank you... All of you I appreciate what all of you did for Denny" Izzie said quietly
"I don't care." Alex blurted out "I didn't lie for you or Denny. I lied so I could get in on the transplant surgery." He said turning to walk away but being stopped by Meredith
"We stick together all of us we all stick together" Cristina said shooting a glare at Alex "Even if we don't all take the blame. We stick together."
"Fine" Alex grumbled.
"Camille Travis is a kid with cancer how hard should it be to please her" George said reading off the chart.
"It'll be harder than you think Doctor Omalley" Bailey said walking over with two teenage girls. "Who is Camille Travis" Dr. Bailey said motioning to the girls
"She's like the chief's niece" One of them said smiling widely
"And what does the Chiefs niece want?" Bailey asked the other girl.
"Uh like the best prom ever" The other girl said putting on a smile resembling he friends.
"And you guys are going to give it to her" and with that Bailey turned and walked off.
As soon as Bailey was out of ear shot Alex grumbled "Thats it I'm ratting her out"
"Alex" Meredith said grabbing him again
"Fine" He muttered and walked off to plan the prom.

"Hey Mer" Mark said handing her a coffee "What are you doing" He said looking over her shoulder.
"Torture" Meredith muttered.
"And by torture do you mean planning a prom" Mark said amused.
"How did you find out about the prom" She said frowning.
"I know things." Mark grinned "Actually Cris told me and said that if she has to go, we have to go"
"I hate proms." Meredith grumbled
"You know after my last prom I got laid." Mark said with his signature smirk
"Manwhore" Meredith laughed
"Slutty Mistress"
"Hussy"
"Hey" Mark laughed "That was a low one"
The shrill beep of Meredith pager interrupted them "It's the chief. Got to go. Love you Marky" Meredith said kissing Mark on the cheek before taking the coffee and heading down the hall.

"What's going on" Meredith said as she sat in between Alex and Cristina.
"He's taking us in one by one" Alex said without looking up.
Right on cue Patricia called Izzie in. Izzie was in the chief's office for about fifteen minutes. Next, he called in Alex and then George after George it was Cristina and finally, he called in Meredith.
Did Webber think that she would just give them up sure he was Uncle Richard, but she wouldn't give Izzie up.
"Ive known you a long time" Richard started hopeing Meredith would crack. This was honestly a last-ditch attempt for him because he doubted, she would crack. "I knew your mother and your father, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you did not cut that LVAD wire. Meredith I need you to tell me who cut the wire."
Meredith stood around playing with her fingers and then everything clicked. That's why he wanted her to come to Seattle Grace, and that's why her mother was so against it. Meredith looked up and locked eyes with Doctor Webber. Doctor Webber took a sip of his water.
"You're the reason my parents broke up." Doctor Webber almost spit out his drink. Meredith watched him squirm her suspicions were true. She could see the pain on his face and see the hurt in his eyes. She had just thrown his biggest regret in his face. Part of her enjoyed seeing the pain inflicted on her from her mother not wanting to be around her because she believed Richard didn't stay with her because of Meredith. The other part of her watched in horror of her actions. In horror of the fact that she was causing this man pain for his biggest mistake. A mistake he tried years to make better dare she even say fix. Richard Webber wasn't a monster he was just a man who caused her a lot of pain, but he also gave her some happiness. He made it possible for her to meet and really connect with Mark so no, she wasn't mad but this just had to be said. "And it wasn't just an affair my mother really loved you. It wasn't some cheap thing where she didn't tell you she was married she loved you so much she left her husband for you but you, you played it safe. You stayed with your wife because it was the right thing to do. And you never regretted your decision. You've never looked back. Right" Meredith said locking eyes with his.
Silence.
"You can go Grey" Richard said defeated
"I forgive you" Meredith uttered barely loud enough for him to hear before scurrying out of the room.

"Hey Callie" Mark said walking up to Callie "You waiting on O'Malley" Mark leaning on the wall next to her
"Nope" Callie said glumly "I think he'd rather go with Izzie"
"The one who almost got him fired' Mark laughed "Couldn't see why."
"Neither can I" Callie sighed
"Well, if you want you can come with me and Mer" Mark offered knowing Meredith wouldn't mind her tagging along.
"Sorry Sloan I don't do threesomes" Callie chuckled
"Very funny Torres"
"I'm being serious where is Mer anyways"
"I don't know" Mark said shrugging his shoulders "She went to the apartment to get ready and she said she'd meet me here later.
"There she is "Callie said pointing up at the stairs.
Mark looked up at her in awe. She was beautiful even more than beautiful...stunning. The way her curls bounced ever so slightly as she walked down the stairs. The way her hair framed her face perfectly. The way the dress fit her perfectly. The way she smiled as she looked around. Mark could go on and on and on about her.
"You coming" He asked Callie as he went to go meet Meredith
"Nah you go get her prince charming" Callie said smiling
Mark walked off in search of Meredith.

"M'lady" Mark said greeting Mer and reaching out for her hand.
"Very funny" Meredith giggled as she took Mark's hand and kissed him.
"Ready" Mark said pulling back from her.
"Yup" and with that the couple

Meredith and Mark laughed and danced, and Derek and Addison watched. Meredith and Mark kissed, and joke and Addison and Derek tried and failed to hold a conversation about Star Wars. Meredith and Mark drank punch and laughed with friends and Derek and Addison slowly and slowly became more jealous.
"Marky I'll be back" Meredith said kissing Mark on the cheek and walking out.
This was his time Derek thought he had to win Meredith back.
"I- uh I- have something to do" He told Addison.
Mark watched Derek chase Meredith. She was a big girl she could handle herself. Plus, she would tell him what happened.

"Meredith" Derek called chasing her down the hall
"Leave me alone"
"Meredith"
"Stop following me"
"Meredith"
"She said leave her alone dude" Alex growled from the end of the hallway.
"Karev" Derek snapped
"Leave her alone" Alex said angrier. "Come on Mer we have to go … It's Iz" Alex said
"Again" Meredith groaned.
Alex grabbed Meredith and lead her towards the cardio floor shooting another glare before walking away.
"Denny died" Alex whispered as soon as they were out of earshot.
"Crap" Meredith said and rushed up the stairs.

Callie : Anytime Sloan that's what friends do

"Mark have you seen Bailey's interns" Dr.Webber said walking up to the man.
"Nope Meredith went off a little bit earlier" Mark said nodding
Just then Baileys interns walked in.
"It was me. I cut the LVAD. I thought I could be a surgeon but I'm not so I quit" Izzie said walking away.
"Ready" Mark asked reaching his hand out for hers.
"Yeah." Meredith said and the pair walked out just as thy came in together
