It was set: The demigod and wizard kids would meet in the living room to discuss the best course of action to save Hogwarts and defeat Voldemort.
The seating was as is: Karlito sat on a couch facing the family clock. On his left sat Annabeth and and Jason. Percy and Harry sat with Thalia at another chair. Hermione sat in the middle on the floor, changing Bean's hairstyle. Thalia started off the conversation.
"How do we know Moldy Shorts is alive?" "We don't, but we have to assume. With the arrival of...some strange figures, we need to be ready." Annabeth said. Karlito piped up. "Your a strange figure. All of you are." "Touche. But, in the end, we have things that aren't done. So, we are bringing over three people." Hermione piped up this time. "More transfers?" "Yep. They are going to get here tommorow."
"Who are they?" Harry asked. "You'll find out later." Thalia picked up the conversation. "We have another thing to speak of. Dumbledore. We have suspicion to believe that he...may be involved with this." Harry lifted his head up. "Not saying you're wrong, but why would he advocate against a man for thirty years of his life?" "A cover. Facade. They could be working together."
Hermione intervened. "But why refuse him a job at the school?" "I don't know for sure, but I have a theory." "What, Annabeth?" "I think Dumbledore gave a prophecy to Voldemort about Harry and Karlito." Percy raised his hand. "Why do that? That would connect him directly if anyone saw." "Maybe he didn't do it. Maybe a cloaked figure that he hired?"
"Most likey." Karlito leaned back into the couch. "I need to nap." Hermione was soon yelling at him. "You can't go to sleep like this!" "Why not?" "This is a stressful moment. If you-" Hermione stopped. She looked down at Bean. "Nothing. Just don't fall asleep." "Well, like I was going to say, I need bring up a new point." "What?" "When the giant came after Hermione, Quirrell, instead of helping her, he came and reported it."
"Yeah, so what? That proves nothing." "Not in itself. It's just that he fell forwards after 'fainting'. No one does that. The blood rushes from your feet to your head, so that impact will make you fall backwards. And that turban. Is he hiding something? Or, someone?"
Annabeth stepped up. "Karlito, you're a genius!" Karlito leaned back. "I try." "One more thing..." Thalia said as everyone got up to leave. "You. Karlito. When did you get so powerful?" Karlito ducked his head. "I only got stronger because of anger. And that lead to my...episodes. I had a vision that explained my ailments." "And?" "It's because I'm getting stronger that I have these things. I'm about to go sword training if anyone needs me."
Jason and Percy looked at each other. "He does have sword." Jason said. "Let's teach him!" The duo dragged the boy out of the door.
Harry sat down on the stairs, tired from the meeting. Should he go to bed? No, he wasn't really sleepy. Something was nagging at his mind. He felt inferior to the others. Even though he was widely known as the Boy Who Lived, these people outclassed him largely. He would make up a new weapon, and train his heart out. Harry thundered up the stairs with newfound vigor. "What are you doing?" Hermione asked. "Getting stronger." Harry claimed.
He went into his assigned room, and locked the door. Harry took of his jacket and shoes. He whipped south his wand. "What should I do?" Harry peeked outside and saw Jason and Percy sword fighting. Karlito was watching it closely. He looked up and saw Harry, then waved. Harry waved back, but in the inside was torn. He wasn't jealous of Karlito, just upset that he couldn't be a good friend to him.
I need something original, and different from everyone else's power. Something identical to a witch, but not something everyday. A sword is out of the question. So is a spear. A dagger? Maybe, but Annabeth has one. What should I use?
Harry looked down it his wand. Did someone else already have an invincible wand? Probably. So what then? He came up with foolish thoughts. A banana boat, bread, and cereal stuff. Maybe that was his stomach talking.
Harry was so frustrated, he slammed his hand down on the table. Do to his feelings, that made him stronger. The table folded like wet wood. Harry didn't even have a burn or scar. He sat down, then a light bulb went off.
His feelings. Harry didn't have to have a big power. He could just train his body to the maximum and train his self with his wand.
Harry would get started right away.
The next day started at 7 am for everyone. Hermione got up first, followed by Harry. They let Karlito sleep since...well. They didn't dare meter the demigod's rooms.
Hermione led the way downstairs. Harry was behind her, muttering to herself. "Dang..." "Shut up, Harry." The boy apologized as they entered the kitchen. "Hey, Mrs. Weasley." They said simultaneously. "Hey, children. Breakfast is served, so get comfortable. We have a lot of work to do this break." Harry digged in. Hermione gave face to conversation. "What do you mean?" "Not to be rude, hut you stay here rent free. You could help the house out a bit, right?" Hermione nodded and dug in.
Twelve minutes later, Karlito came dumping down the stairs. He had no shirt on, and some pajama pants. "Dang, I didn't..." What followed that was a big yawn. "It's...smelling good down here." Hermione took one peek at the boys chest. He had strong pectoral muscles and a sleek chest. Karlito frowned. "Did I do something?" Hermione took off her jacket and gave it to him. "Thanks. It was cold. You always look out for me. Thank you, Hermione!" The girl turned red and said nothing.
As Karlito digged into the grits and cheese, Thalia came down the stairs. She looked at Karlito, Harry, then Hermione in that order and sat down near Karlito. She looked at the salt for her biscuit, and Karlito passed it. He gave her a spoon, too. Harry saw the development, but shrugged. Hermione was in wonder. Even she couldn't comprehend the amount of weirdness in that relationship.
Annabeth and Jason came down, and ate. The table was a little crowded. Bean came down and sat in Karlito's lap. She stole a little off his plate. He let her. Ginerva came down. It was around 7:30 by now. "Ron should be down. I know Percy is doing homework. Will someone go get him?" Jason got up. "I'm done. I will." Bean called out to Jason. "Yeah?" Bean put her left hand in and 'ok' sign moved it up and down. "Beware of the jerker. He might just spray on you." The crowd erupted in laughter. Hermione was the only one appalled. "Angelina, language!" Karlito smirked. "Hermione, it's cool. Bean, don't say it so loudly next time!"
Hermione rolled her eyes. For the next thirty minutes, they made small talk. Ron finally came down, but wasn't able to get breakfast. They brushed their teeth, then put on working clothes. "It's time to get to it!" Hermione put her working face on. "Come on. Let's get to it, then."
