My Hero Academia and Goblin Slayer: The Crossover Paradox: Part 12
End of One Adventurer:
Standing in front of the Window, Momo watched as Izuku left to go on a Quest with the others. While she remained at home. Three Months had passed since the Winter Solstice Festival and now she had to go on a sabbatical from going on Quests for at least another Six to Seven Months. With a sigh, she gave him another wave and he returned it then proceeded onward. When he was finally out of sight, she returned to the Table and started to Create various items that she would by the end of the day to the Store to be sold. At first she blamed him for her condition, then accepted that it was actually both their faults. "One time we don't take precautions and we have an accident." She muttered as she made over two dozen BIC Lighters. Placing them in the box with the Flashbombs and Smoke Grenades. Which would sell just as quickly as the last batch she had taken to the Store three days ago. She needed to do this for obvious reasons. They needed the extra income. Her and Izuku's friends wanted to continue giving her, her share of any Quests, but she declined stating that if she did not go on them then she did not deserve any share of the Reward. So she decided to create things that she knew would sell. Nothing really dangerous, but most of the local Adventurers could not get enough Flashbombs or Smoke Grenades. After a few moments more, she stood and went to get something to eat. Then noticed that Izuku had forgotten the one bag she had prepared for him. In which contained Flashbombs, Gas Grenades and even Tear Gas Grenades. With a scowl, she vowed to punish him later.
The next morning and after being ill in a basin for about fifteen minutes, Momo brushed her teeth. Right after she changed her clothes, someone knocked on the door and as she opened it she noticed it was Cowgirl. "Deku asked me to come by once in awhile to check on you." The other girl said and Momo let her in.
"That is what I figured he do. Though I was actually expecting someone else not that I also expected that he would ask you to check in on me. But another one should be around any minute now. Tea?" Momo indicated the boiling pot on the Hotplate and Cowgirl nodded. Just as she was about to pour the hot water into 3 cups, someone else knocked on the door. "Do you mind letting Guild Girl in?" She asked Cowgirl who opened the door to reveal exactly who Momo had said would be coming.
On the Road:
"Don't you think it is about time to tell us where we are going?" The Elf asked and Goblin Slayer glanced about in the back of the Wagon. Moving closer to the others. He leaned in to make sure that the Driver did not overhear him.
"Watertown." Goblin Slayer said then glanced towards the driver who was busy driving the Wagon. "The Sword Maiden sent a letter to me. In it she told me that she had discovered another group of Goblins had moved back into the Catacombs under the City."
"Oh no not again." The Priestess said with exasperation. Not really looking forward to encountering Goblins again under Watertown. She had almost died when the Goblin Champion almost bit her arm off. Though that was an occupational hazard being an adventurer. What she was more concerned with was that Goblin Slayer had seen her naked.
"I wonder what they are doing there? I mean with that Swamp Dragon in there...wouldn't they avoid the Catacombs?" The Elf asked and Goblin Slayer nodded.
"That is what is troubling me. Even though they are stupid..they are not that stupid to want to be where it is that dangerous." Goblin Slayer said and removed the Map that he had kept from their last time they were there. "From what the letter said...a Party of Adventurers were confronted here. Just off where we left that Mirror." He pointed to a spot on the Map.
"Do you think that they are after that Mirror?" The Lizard Priest asked and Goblin Slayer nodded again.
"It makes sense. It is an Ancient Transportation artifact." The Priestess said and that got Izuku's attention.
"Transportation. How does it work and where does it transport to?" Izuku asked, beginning to wonder perhaps it could transport him and Momo home.
"How it works, is unknown my friend. Where...we observed that it was connected to a Goblin Village. Though none of us know where." The Dwarf replied and the Priestess placed her left hand on Izuku's shoulder.
"I doubt that it would work to send you or Creati home if that is what you are thinking. From what I read about similar Artifacts...there has to be another Mirror for it to connect to." The Priestess said and Izuku slumped. Another hope dashed. Since arriving he and Momo had hoped that someone from their World would make the Man that sent them here, bring them back. That hope ended at the six month mark. Then they were hoping that one of the Magic Users here could do it. Nope that one too was dashed, because all of the Magicians they talked to had no idea of a spell that could do that. So they both decided to look for a way home, but they were also resigned in the fact that they could be here the rest of their lives. Along with their first child's life. That thought made him laugh.
"What do you find amusing Deku?" The Elf asked and he looked over at her, smiling broadly.
"That me and Creati are going to be parents. I...I am just sort of giddy with the idea that me and Creati are going to be parents." Izuku replied and laughed again, as did the others. Except Goblin Slayer.
"I wish you two would have waited until the Goblins were all dead. We could have used Creati on this Quest." Goblin Slayer said, then noticed the glares he was getting from the Priestess and the Elf.
"It was not on purpose...we had an accident." Izuku said and thought back to when Momo returned from the outhouse holding a Pregnancy Test. She had been sick each morning for three days, so she created one and went to make sure she was not pregnant. To her first dismay and then their both delight, she was expecting. "Maybe it might be best if me and Creati do not get home after all." The others looked at him oddly and he gave a short chuckle. "Her Parents and my Mother would probably want to kill me for getting her pregnant." They all laughed, even Goblin Slayer.
Watertown:
Entering the Catacombs near where they had dropped the Cement Encased Mirror, they found several dozen Dead Goblins. The last Party of Adventurers were not Low Rank Adventurers. The Sword Maiden insisted that only Steel Rank or above took on the Quest and were forewarned what they would be facing. So the three Adventurers were more then ready for the Goblins and after they slaughtered them all. They did not remain to discover why the Goblins were there. No that was not what the Quest entailed for them to do. All it had was that they get rid of the Goblins and that was all. But Goblin Slayer and the others still kept up their guard. "The Mirror is down there." The Dwarf said pointing at the deep pool. None of them dared get too close. Suspecting that the Albino Alligator could be lying in wait. Checking near the sides, the Elf ran her fingers among the stones and found broken Spear Heads littering the stone floor. "What do you think Long Ears?" The Dwarf asked and she looked around then gave them all a small smile.
"The Goblins were here all right. Looks like they had brought some type of Harpoons or large Spears with them." The Elf picked one up. The serrated edge was about as big and long as Goblin Slayers Sword. Holding it up so that all of them could see it.
"They came here to kill the Swamp Dragon or at least drive it away long enough for them to get the Mirror." Goblin Slayer pointed further on where remnants of a Block and Tackle could be seen. Ropes, gears and long wooden poles. The last Adventurers had arrived just in time to stop the Goblins from trying.
"Do you think they might try again?" The Priestess asked and Goblin Slayer shook his head.
"I don't know. This had been a mid sized group of them. Perhaps about thirty or so." Goblin Slayer picked up what was once a Goblin Shaman Staff. Suspecting that this was the one that came up with the entire plan to get back the Mirror. It had failed due to the Adventurers and probably the Alligator. The Harpoons were large, but not big or deadly enough to actually harm the Sword Maidens familiar. At most it would annoy or piss off the huge Monster. He would guess that the Goblins could try again, but again it would be a hopeless endeavor. There were just too many obstacles for the Goblins to overcome. Such as the Mirror was a good fifty or sixty feet underwater. So even if they did drive the Alligator away. They still would not be able to retrieve it. "I do not believe it is anything that we really have to worry about. We will just have to Warn the Sword Maiden and make sure if she does send Adventurers down here, they are prepared to fight Goblins."
"So in essence it was a waste of our time to come here." Izuku said and Goblin Slayer shook his head.
"When it comes to Goblins, it is never a waste of time." Goblin Slayer stated firmly. Though he and he suspected the others were thinking the same thing as Deku just said. They had spent two and a half days getting here and there was really nothing they could do. So they would return home.

Bored beyond actions, Momo decided to mostly stay at the Guild during the next day. Numerous times Guild Girl and the Truth Sayer sat with he and talked. Which reduced her boredom. During times the two other girls could not, she doodled on a several pieces of paper. Toying with the idea of creating a Cell Phone. Along with a couple of Satellites. Unfortunately there were a couple of problems with that idea. The main one was she had no idea how to create a Satellite and of course if she did. She had no idea how to get it into orbit. So it was more of something to take away her boredom. Though she was also worried about Izuku. Without her there to make sure he did not become once more obsessive with his desire to save everyone or take on dangerous situations without thinking. Rushing in where a sensible person might not tread. She could not help but be worried. What could she say or think. She loved the idiot. He after all was her husband. When the Witch put down a cup of herbal tea before her, she winced. "What this is a Special Blend dear that is good for those that are pregnant." The Woman said with a smile. Momo gave a soft sigh. This had been the fourth cup of the tea that someone had given her. At most all it did was make her want to pee.
"Thank you." Momo said and indicated for the Witch to join her. Which she did. Sitting across from her. The Woman's partner was talking to a pair of young Adventurers, verbally advising them not to go on any Goblin Quests. It had become the practice here due to the Goblin Attack at the Farm last year, to not allow unprepared Adventurers to risk themselves by underestimating the Goblins. Too many of the new and young Adventurers were not ready yet for that type of Quest.
"So how are you dear?" The Witch asked and Momo smiled.
"I am getting used to the morning sickness. Beyond that I am a bit bored. I need to find something to do other then Creating things to be sold at the Store." Momo replied. It was not like she could sit home and watch TV or read any Books. There were not too many Books out there. Since the Printing Press had not been invented yet. So all the Books were hand written. She had debated whether to create a printing press, then lost interest in the idea. Even if she did, there was still not that many books to be printed to begin with. So it would be a waste of time.
"If I can help you dear. Just ask." The With said and Momo smiled. Generally she liked all of the other Adventurers, oh there were some that were obnoxious. But most she considered friendly enough sort that she had come to like. Mainly due to that Adventurers were a close knit group that may squabble and disagree with each other, but would fight to the death to protect each other. Some were even friends. The Witch was about to lite her pipe and then stopped. Putting it back away. Not wanting to smoke anywhere near the pregnant Momo. Finishing her Tea, she set the cup off to one side. At that moment another Girl came forward, this one was the partner of one of the other young Adventurers. She and her partner had just returned again from the Sewers and after a bath, came to the Guild. The Girl set down another cup of tea for Momo. Who grudgingly thanked her with a smile.

The Trip back was mostly in silence. They all were frustrated with the Quest in General. Especially after finding out that everything that they discovered, the Sword Maiden already knew almost all of it. So basically it was a waste of time. Even Goblin Slayer had to admit that now. Believing that they all could have gone on another Goblin Based Quest instead of spending five days not really doing anything useful. What bugged Izuku was, he had left Momo alone. He did not like doing that especially in her condition. Worried that she might overdo it. Though one of the Older Women had told him that he did not have to wait on her hand and foot. In fact it might begin to annoy his Wife if he kept doing that. But he could not help it. She was pregnant and he intended to make sure she stayed healthy and did not do anything strenuous. "Relax Deku..it took us 2 and a half days to get there and it will take 2 and a half days to get back." The Elf said and Izuku frowned. Extremely tempted to power up and run or jump the distance. But decided against doing that, since all it would do is wear him out and he had a whole list of chores he wanted to get done. So he had to be patient.
"I just want to get home and make sure Creati is alright." Deku said stared out the front of the Wagon. Watching as the road round up and over small hills and in between trees and woods. They had been traveling already for half a day and he could barely sit still realizing that it would take two more days until they reached home.
"I am sure she is fine." The Priestess said and then leaned back against the side of the Wagon. "So have you and Creati thought of names yet?" She asked and Izuku looked at her and shook his head.
"Names...no. Creati wants to wait until...she or he is born and then we will pick one." Izuku said thinking about the Customs here. Sure in the first few years a person or child here has a name, but as soon as they reach a certain age. Then they are given a task name to be called. Before then they would go by their name only. At first it felt weird and difficult to call Momo, Creati. But after a month it became easier. Though when they were alone together, he called her Momo and she called him Izuku.
"Is she going to come back and do Quests after...some time?" The Lizard Priest asked and Izuku shook his head again.
"No." Izuku knew what his friends were doing. They were basically distracting him from thinking about how long it was going to take to get back home. "We decided that one of us has to give up being an Adventurer. So we flipped a coin and she lost. She was not happy about it, but we cannot risk having both of our babies parents not coming home again. That meant one of us had to quit and remain home." He suspected that was how it happened back home when two Heroes had a child. One or the other gave up being a Hero, so they did not orphan any children. It made sense here as well. "Actually in time I may partially retire as well. Only to go on Quests when you guys need a little extra muscle." He told them and they could relate. There was a high mortality rate for Adventurers. No matter how good they were or how highly they were ranked.
"I am surprised you have not retired already." The Elf said with a small smile. "This is not the life for someone that is going to be a Parent. I bet that Creati would rather have you home rather then out here on a Quest." She looked around at the Priestess. Wondering when her Friend would no longer be able to go on Quests with her. It would and will happen. Time ages everyone but those that are immortal.

"No more tea." Momo said as Cowgirl began to set down another Cup of Herbal Tea before her. "Everyone has been giving me Tea almost all day long. I have had 7 cups already and anymore I will end up spending the night in the Outhouse." She said and Cowgirl laughed. Drinking the tea herself.
"Everyone does that because they care." Cowgirl said and sat down. She had come to once more check in on Momo. First at her Cottage and then seeing that her friend was not there, went to the next logical place. The Guild. Now she fully intended to make sure that her friend go home alright. "Are you about to go home?" She asked and Momo nodded.
"I better or someone else is going to bring me another cup of tea." Momo said standing and Cowgirl did the same.
"How about I come with you and make sure you get home alright?" Cowgirl suggested and Momo inhaled sharply. Then looked over to see Spearman and the Witch standing from their table. The Witch approached.
"It is getting late dear. How about we come with you as well?" The Witch suggested and Momo sighed. Wondering if this was how it was going to be from now on. Where everyone she knew waited on her and wanted to make sure that nothing happened to her. So what could she say. It was nice of them to worry.
"Okay I guess that would be alright." Momo headed for the door with the others and Spearman passed them, opening the door and waiting for the three Ladies to step thru. Once they did, he held his Spear loosely in his hand and glanced about looking for any threats. Once back home, the two girls entered with her and Spearman sat down on the porch. Removing a Blanket from his bag, he laid it down on the wooden planks. "Uhm what is he doing?" She asked Spearman's Partner. The Witch smiled.
"Oh he intends to remain there tonight dear. With Deku not around it might be best that someone be around since sometimes the nights can be...dangerous." The Witch replied with a small smile. Momo would protest but again she found it kinda sweet that the others were being the way they were. So what could she do, other then accept it.
"Speaking of the night...do you mind it I stay the night? I do not relish in the idea of walking home..alone in the dark." Cowgirl asked and Momo suspected that the other girl had planned to remain as well, right from the moment she had come to the Guild. With all of this attention, she now wanted Izuku home sooner. So hopefully it would only be him to lavish all the attention upon her. Though she suspected that it would only continue from the others. She became sullen.
"Dear are you alright?" The Witch asked in concern and Momo looked over at her. Giving her a weak smile.
"I miss my Husband. If this is how it is going to be with him going on Quests. Then I will have to really consider whether I want him to continue being an Adventurer." Momo said admitting to herself that she had thought about that almost the minute he had left. They had come to the realization that they were going to be here the rest of their lives, so with her pregnant it was now apparent that they needed to actually reconsider either of them being Adventurers. She had already resigned and now maybe it was time for Izuku to do the same. Perhaps only become a part time Adventurer and not going on any long term Quests.
Home World:
Gasping audibly, Mei Hatsume shook her head in denial. But there it was on her computer screen. The final result of the computer simulation indicated that it was a failure. That even if she did clone the right sequences of DNA, it still would not work. So in essences there was no way that they could bring Izuku Midoriya and Momo Yaoyorozu home. It was not just Osikaki Tashiniaki's quirk but it needed him to focus on a location to open a portal to wherever he had sent them. A computer control would not work. At best it would open a Portal, but it could be anywhere. So unless it was a total fluke, then there was no hope of her idea actually working. Regretfully the Hero Administration had already determined it was scientifically impossible. So unless someone with a similar Quirk could be located then there was no possible solution to bringing the two home. She had been the last hope and now it was gone. She had no other ideas that would even work.
Five Years in the Future:
Returning home from helping Goblin Slayer and the others dealing with an infestation of Goblins. Izuku found his Wife Momo and his four year old Daughter Shena waiting for him at their home. Momo had just returned from working at the Guild as a Technical Support Advisor. Something new that the Guild had instituted three years ago. Her job was to provide advice, supplies and even research on various Quests. Hugging first Shena, he then hugged and kissed Momo. She smiled at him and removed a plastic strip from her pocket. Waving it in front of his now almost bulging green eyes. "Guess what Izuku...it is positive again." She said and then laughed as he looked like he was about to faint.
The End or One Story and for Them the Beginning of Another?
