POKEMON: LET'S GO
Episode 11: Arrival Of A Rival
"The group is on their way to the Cerulean City, where Chase's second Gym Battle is waiting for him. But, their path is full of excitement and adventures. Who knows where the next challenge comes from?"
The group is walking through a grassy plain as Elaine asks why they didn't take the straight road to Cerulean City. Riley tells them that they are heading towards the Mt. Moon, through which a shortcut exists for Cerulean City. Suddenly, Pikachu and Eevee become alert after hearing some sounds. The trio of trainers also try to listen and are able to hear the sounds. Chase and Pikachu follow them to find their source. They find a trainer training his Mankey. Elaine, Eevee and Riley also catch up to them. They watch the training session as the Mankey tries hitting the trainer, while he defends himself with an shield. Suddenly, the shield is torn into two parts by Mankey's powerful Iron Tail. The group, especially Chase, is fascinated by the Mankey's strength. They decide to meet the trainer and approach him. The trainer is initially startled by the arrival of the group, but relaxes after Chase praises him and his Mankey. Chase, Elaine and Riley introduce themselves before the trainer introduces himself as Morris. He tells the group that he earned the Boulder Badge from Brock a few days ago and has been training there since then. He also tells them that his Mankey solely defeated Brock in one go. Chase also boasts about his victory over Brock, only to be reminded by Elaine that he had a hard time defeating Brock and that too in a rematch. Chase, however, challenges Morris for a one on one match- Pikachu against Mankey. Morris readily accepts the challenge.
They take positions for the battle. Riley becomes the judge and asks them to start. Morris asks Chase to go first, so Chase decides to go with Thunderbolt as usual. Mankey easily dodges the Thunderbolt and returns with Fury Swipes. Pikachu is hit by it several times but he manages to escape to a distance using Quick Attack. He returns with the move to hit Mankey, but it proves to be surprisingly agile and dodges the Quick Attack. Pikachu goes for Iron Tail, but Mankey dodges it as well before landing a critical hit with it's own Iron Tail. Pikachu quickly regains his composure and rushes in with Quick Attack. Mankey dodges to get beside Pikachu and disbalances him using Low Kick. Pikachu crashes to the ground. Before it can get up, Mankey uses Iron Tail causing it to faint. Riley declares Morris as the winner of the match. Chase comforts Pikachu and thanks him for giving his best. He and others also praise Mankey for it's amazing agility and strength. Morris passes the credit to Mankey itself and jokingly says that Pikachu was probably a quiet weak opponent for Mankey. Chase takes the comment seriously and, despite Morris' efforts to explain him, he asks Morris to meet him the following day for a rematch. In the heat of the moment, Morris also accepts the challenge and promises to wait for him.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket eavesdrop on them. Jessie finds Mankey to be a strong Pokemon as it was able to defeat Pikachu. James and Meowth also agree to her and they think of stealing Mankey and gift it to their BOSS. They all agree and James suggests his teammates a plan to steal Mankey.
Back to the group, Chase is still infuriated with Morris calling Pikachu weak. Riley advises Chase to analyse his previous battle with Morris to find out his own mistakes and correct them in their upcoming battle. He points out that Chase was focused on only attacking, being unaware of his defence. Elaine suggests focusing on increasing Pikachu's agility to match that of Mankey. Chase calls out Bulbasaur to help them in training. He asks Bulbasaur to hold Pikachu's tail with Vine Whip. Then, he asks Pikachu to run, with Bulbasaur pulling him back. Pikachu tries hard and is finally able to pull Bulbasaur with it. Chase is pleased, but wants Pikachu to make more efforts, so he grabs the vines himself and starts pulling Pikachu. Later, Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Chase are exhausted, but happy after the day's training. Riley remarks that only a devoted and hardworking trainer can motivate his Pokemon to be powerful, and Chase does have these qualities in him.
Elsewhere, at Morris' camp he and Mankey have gathered twigs and wood to prepare a bonfire before sunset. They are startled when a net falls on Mankey and ot is pulled away. He looks up to find a big Meowth Balloon. Team Rocket reveal and introduce themselves by reciting their motto. But, before they could finish, Mankey cuts the net with Fury Swipes and climbs up to them. It breaks the burner of the balloon that causes an explosion to blast Team Rocket off.
The same evening Chase decides to have a final practice session. He asks Elaine and Riley to help him with Eevee and Growlithe. Chase also calls out Bulbasaur. The three Pokemon stand surrounding Pikachu and all of them attack at him at once. Bulbasaur goes on with Razor Leaf, Eevee uses Quick Attack and Growlithe has its Flamethrower. Pikachu uses Quick Attack trying to dodge all of them. The group finds that his speed has increased surprisingly. He continues dodging until Bulbasaur swaps to Vine Whip and Pikachu trips on it. As he loses balance, he is tossed in air by Eevee using Quick Attack before being hardly hit by Growlithe's Flamethrower. Chase, however, is pleased and calls out the training, considering themselves prepared for the coming match against Morris.
Next day, the two trainers prepare to start their battle with their respective Pokemon. Morris again asks Chase to begin. He again sides with Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Mankey dodges it and heads on for Fury Swipes. Pikachu, being really agile than before is able to quickly dodge it.
