"Happy anniversary baby" Robert said, putting Ashton in the little bed and giving Andy a kiss. "Happy anniversary." she said, deepening the kiss.
"Mmmm I love you." He said, pulling back as they heard the baby start crying.
"I love you too." she said.
"You ready to go home." he asked, packing the last little bit of stuff into the bag.
"Definitely. I will finally get to cuddle with all three of my boys in our comfortable bed." Andy said, putting Ashton into a little blue onesie that had elephants on it that Travis had bought for them.
"I thought you just had two boys." he said, a little confused.
"I know. Last night I had two of my boys with me but I have my other boy at home. So I have three boys." she said.
"Oh you mean Bentley." he said, finally figuring it out.
"Gosh Robert, you can be so slow some times." she said with a slight chuckle.
She looked over at him and saw him making a fake hurt face which made her laugh some more.
"Come here." she said, motioning for him to come near her. "I love you" she said, pulling him into a hug. "And I don't have a clue what I would do with out you and I never want to."
"I love you and I don't want to lose you either. That means we both have to be safe when we go out on calls when we go back to work. No running in without backup or gear." he said, kissing her head.
"Ok." she said, pulling back and kissing him. A few moments later a nurse came in and said, "Here are your discharge papers. All you have to do is sign there and you guys are free to go." "Ok." Andy said, signing the paper. "Here you go."
"Have a good day." the nurse said before walking out.
"Lets take Ash home." she said, sitting down in the wheelchair, holding the baby.
"It's a good thing we put the car seat in last week." he said.
"Yep." she said. Robert put Ashton into the car seat and buckled him in.
"I think I'm going to ride in the back with him just in case anything happens." she said, getting in the car.
"Andy nothing is going to happen. We live like 10 minutes away from the hospital." he said, starting the car.
"I know but still. Just drive us home please." she said.
With that he started off towards their house. "Do you want to order take out or I could make us something." he said as they turned into the driveway.
"Umm maybe we could make some spaghetti." she suggested.
"Maybe for dinner so maybe we could just order a pizza." he said.
"Sure." she said.
"Here I'll get him. You get the bag." he said, getting the car seat out.
"Ok." she said, walking to the front of the car and getting the bag out of the front seat.
"Welcome home little man." Andy said as the walked through the front door. "Where's Bentley."
"He's at Maya's. She said she would take him for today so that we could get settled in." he said. "I'm going to go put him down in his room and then we can order the pizza."
"Ok don't forget to bring the baby monitor down here." she said.
"I won't." he said, picking Ash up out of the car seat and heading towards the stairs.
He had just walked into his room and was about to set him down when he heard foot steps at the door.
"Thought you were staying on the couch." he said, turning to look at her.
"Well ummm I don't want to put him in the bed yet." she said, walking over and taking him out of Robert's arms.
"Put him back long enough for you to take a shower and eat lunch." he said.
"I will once the food gets here." she said, turning out of the room and heading back downstairs.
"Hello." Robert said answering his phone.
L- Hey Bobby. Pruitt said that Andy had the baby. So I was wondering if it would be ok if I stopped by later to meet him.
R- Sure Luke. If you want to come around 5:30 my parents are coming to meet him and we are having dinner if you want to join.
L- That's sounds more of like a family thing.
R- Luke you are family. So if you want to come you can or stop by earlier.
L- Ok I will see you at dinner. Bye
R- Bye
He hung up the phone and headed downstairs
"Luke just called and asked if he could come meet Ash so I told him to join us for dinner." Robert said, taking a seat next to Andy on the couch.
"Can I go to Maya's and go get Bentley?" she asked.
"If you want. I thought it might just be easier to get things unpacked without him here." he said.
"Well everything is unpacked so lets go." she said, standing up and sliding her shoes back on.
"You sure you don't want to drive down there." he said, following her out the house.
"Yes Robert. Its only 5 minutes down the road and I need to lose the weight I gained from being pregnant." she said.
"Ok lets go then." he said, turning around and locking the door.
*Knock Knock*
"What a surprise." Carina said, opening the front door. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Well Andy wanted to come get Bentley so we walked down." he said.
"Where's Maya?" Andy asked.
"Shes out back playing with him. Can I hold Ashton?" she said.
"Sure." she said, handing Carina the baby when the got in the house.
"Look who's here." Carina said softly as she pulled open the back door.
"Andy!"Maya said, watching as the dog ran over to Robert and Andy.
"Hey." she said, walking over and taking a seat next to Maya on the grass. "Was he good?"
"He was perfect. I even considered not giving him back." she said with a chuckle.
"You can't steal my dog." Andy said, pretending to be mad.
They both burst out into laughter which caused Ashton to wake up crying.
"Here I got him." she said, getting off the ground.
"No Andy. Sit and talk with them. I can take him." Robert said, lifting the baby out of Carina's arms. "I'm going to stand inside if you two don't mind."
"No its fine captain. Ashton looks so tiny in his arms." Maya said as Robert closed the door.
"I know right. Its still crazy for me to think that I have a newborn." she said. "It feels like just yesterday I turned the corner of that moving truck and found you with a shocked expression, looking between Robert and I."
"Well if we are being honest here, I had a feeling you two were together since the first time he showed up with Ripley because you got a slight smile on your face." she said.
"Really? I didn't even notice I did that." she said.
"Do you guys want to stay for dinner?" Carina asked.
"I'm afraid we can't tonight. Robert's parents and Lucas are coming to meet the baby and we are having dinner with them but maybe another day." she said as Robert walked back out the doors.
"I'm sorry to interrupt the party ladies but we need to get going so we can get ready and start on dinner." he said.
"Ok well I will see you two later and thank you so much for watching Bentley." Andy said, standing up.
"Anytime Andy." Maya said as they approached the front door.
"Buy guys." Andy said.
"Bye" they said.
"I'm just going to make us a salad for lunch since we will have to start dinner soon." he said, unlocking the door.
"Ok. He just fell back asleep so I guess I'll go put him in his bed and take a shower." she said.
"I'll go start on lunch." he said.
"I will be down in about 30 minutes." she said, heading towards the stairs.
"Ok." he said.
It was now almost time for Ripley and Robert's parents to show up.
"Can you text everyone and ask them to call when they get here so that they don't wake up Ash." Andy said.m "Dinner is ready so why don't you go upstairs and get some sleep" he said, placing a hand on here back.
"I'm good Robert." she said, turning around.
"I know that but now we have a newborn and I'm not so sure we will get a good night sleep for a while." he said.
"Well we have an hour so if you come with me I guess I will take a nap." she said, placing a quick kiss on his lips.
"Ok lets go." he said, taking her hand and leading her up the stairs.
"Wait I'll be back. I forgot the baby monitor." she said, turning back around to exit the bedroom.
"Why don't you just go get him and bring him in here with us." he said.
"Sure." she said.
Andy came back in the room with Ashton in her arms peacefully sleeping. She got in the bed and cuddled up next to Robert. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer to him. She rested her head on his shoulder as he placed kisses on her and Ashton's forehead. "Ok, lets get some sleep before our guest arrive." he said.
About an hour later, Robert woke up to the sound of his phone ringing.
R- Hello
E- Hi son. Your mom and I are at the door.
R- Ok let me wake Andy up and then I will be down.
E-Ok
"Hey Andy, my mom and dad are here so I'm going downstairs." he said, kissing her head as he got out of bed.
"Ok I will be down in a few minutes." she said, sitting up carefully so she didn't wake up the baby.
A few minutes later, Andy walked down the stairs with the baby monitor in her hand. "Hi Edward. Hi Katlin" she said, giving them both hugs. "How are you guys?"
"We are good." Katlin said. "How are you?" "I'm a little tired and sore but besides that I'm good." she said.
"Speaking of which, where is the little guy." she asked with a smile.
"He is upstairs sleeping. He will probably be up in an hour to eat." she said. "Have you heard from Luke?"
"Yeah he just called. He said he would have to stop by at another time because he got called to a 5-alarm fire." Robert said.
"Man, I miss a good 5-alarm." she said.
"Well if everyone is ready to eat we can go and fix our plates." he said.
"Ok." everyone said as they walked into the kitchen.
"Robert that was delicious." his father said as everyone was helping clean up the mess. "Thanks dad." he said.
They were all still cleaning when a small cry came through the baby monitor.
"I will go get him and be right back. Robert can you make Ashton a bottle?" she asked.
"Yeah." he said.
"Hey little man." Andy said in a baby voice as she looked down at Ashton.
She picked him up and changed his diaper before going back downstairs.
"Oh he is so precious." Katlin said as Andy walked into the kitchen. "Look at that little face."
"Robert do you have his bottle?" she asked, turning towards him.
"Yep, here you go love." he said, handing her the bottle.
"Do you want to feed him Katlin?" Andy asked.
"I would love to." she said.
Andy handed her and baby and his bottle.
"Here I got this for you."Robert said as he wrapped an arm around her waist and held a little velvet box in the other.
"Robert you know we already got married right." she said.
"Just open it." he said, handing her the box.
"Omg Rob I love it." she said, opening the box to reveal a little heart necklace that had the initials, A,R,A, and the date of their anniversary on the back. "I love you so much. Happy anniversary."
"Happy anniversary baby." he said, spinning her around and kissing her.
"Ahem, I don't know if you two know but there are other people here." his father joked.
They both looked at the ground as blush creeped across their cheeks as if they were still teenagers getting caught making out in a car.
"Oh Ed leave them alone. They are young and today is their anniversary. Happy anniversary you too." she said.
"Thank you." They both said.
"Well thank you for raising an amazing man." she said.
"Well I think we are going to head out since it is your anniversary but if you ever need anyone to watch Ashton call me. I am willing to watch him anytime." she said.
"We definitely will mom. Thanks for the offer." he said, giving her a hug.
"He is beautiful Andy." Edward said, handing her the baby.
"Thank you Edward. It was good to see both of you." she said.
"Bye dad." he said, giving his dad a hug.
"Bye son." he said.
"Goodbye Katlin." Andy said, giving her a hug. "We'll see you guys later." she said.
"Bye." they said as the door closed.
"I'm so tired." Andy said as she changed into an over sized t-shirt.
"Me too." he said.
"I'm going to go change him and then I will be back." she said, picking up Ashton.
"Ok." he said.
"It takes 30 minutes to change a diaper?" he asked, raising his eyebrow when Andy walked through the door.
"I was rocking him to sleep." she said, walking over and placing Ashton in the little crib beside the bed. "Because now that he is asleep, I can have cuddle time with my amazing husband." "Ok, I guess that 30 minutes was worth it then." he said, pulling her over to him when she got into bed.
"I really love the necklace." Andy said, looking into his eyes.
"I knew you would." he said, placing a gentle kiss on her lips.
"Goodnight Rob." she said, placing a kiss on his shoulder.
"Goodnight Andy." he said.
