Spider-Man: Watch out! Here comes the Spider-Man! We flew right into the Syndicate's trap and was sent into a future where Iblis destroyed the world. Luckily, we ran into this timeline's Silver and Blaze, and even an old Nick Fury, that could help us find a way back home. But first, we need to help them seal Iblis into the Sol Vessel. Thing's a little busted, but it's better than nothing. I just hope things are going well back in our timeline while we're gone.

Issue 11: Fight Fire with Fire

New Vale City (Present Day)

Just a normal day for the people of New Vale. The city is hustling and bustling with traffic. Citizens mingle down the sidewalks on afternoon strolls. All of that was immediately interrupted when they heard the ominous voice of the world's greatest villain.

'Greetings, people of Mobiant Earth…'

BGM-Mega Man Star Force 2 OST-Atmosphere of Unrest

At Time Square, all of the television screens get hack and display live footage of Red Skull's face. His message is being broadcasted around the globe as citizens were quick to react in shock and surprise, mostly because they recognize the Nazi terrorist and just how dangerous he is to society. Red Skull continues to speak to the world as he hauntingly says, 'Most of you know me as the Red Skull, leader of Hydra and the Syndicate! Soon, we will be the rulers of this planet! Of course, we don't mean to just step into the role. We know you won't just fall into line and do as we say from the get go. So we will convince you that resistance is futile with a little demonstration that even the most simple of you can understand. We will unleash the power of that legendary civilization. When you weak and foolish creature behold the power we wield, you will realize that you cannot resist us, and we shall rule over you all!' He announced before signing off, leaving the global populace extremely worried for their future.

Meanwhile at Altitude Limit Zone…

The Syndicate have gathered on a flying fortress surrounded by numerous clouds, which is the perfect hiding spot for them to begin the critical moment of their master plan. Most of the Syndicate stand behind Red Skull and Mephiles, while the former wears the Armor of Kako. The Spear of Mira and the Crown of Tempus each float and glow beside Skull, who can feel their power responding to his Armor.

"The time has come! The Relics will break the seal of Chronoa and bring the kingdom before us!" Mephiles proclaimed.

"Are you certain the Relics can unleash Chronoa?" Skull asks the dark spirit.

Mephiles explains, "Chronoa warps space and time for energy. To break the seal and restore Chronoa requires spacetime energy, and for a kingdom it must be an incredible source of spacetime energy. And that is where the Relics come in."

"I see. And the Relics are just a powerful source!" Skull remarks with a grin.

Mephiles glances at the terrorist, "And now, Red Skull. You have the honor of being reborn into the Chrono King. A new master of time, and ruler of the Neo Chronoa Empire!" He expressed with a gesture.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Threat from Beyond

The Spear of Mira converts itself into blue energy as it enters Skull's body. Then the Crown of Tempus converts itself into golden energy as it too enters Skull. A dark purple aura starts to envelop his body as the energies of the three Treasures become one with Skull. He grunts with excruciating pain like never before until he lets out a mighty roar to the sky, "HRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" as his body erupts with an explosive pillar of energy that knocks back everyone but Mephiles, who stands strong and stoic while staring at Skull's transformation.

As the dust settles, everyone can tell that Red Skull didn't change that much. He still wears the Armor of Kako, which now sports a red cape with a symbol resembling Solaris, and is seen wielding the Spear of Mira in his right hand and wearing the Crown of Tempus on his head while is body radiates a mystical purple aura.

Upon gazing at the reborn Chrono King, the Syndicate are left in awe and shock. "So this is the Chrono King…The ruler of the ancient Chronoa tribes now reborn in Red Skull's form." Salem commented.

Nega scans the transformed terrorist with his glasses and gasps in shock, "His power readings are off the scale! To think this ancient technology could radiate this much power…"

"Not too shabby, Skull." Taskmaster quipped.

Chrono King Skull laughs while checking out his new form and immeasurable power, "If you think my form is impressive, wait and see what I can do with its power." He looks to the sky and points at it with the Spear, "SACRED RELICS! It's time to undo the seal and bring forth the kingdom of Chronoa!"

The Mira Spear fires a multi-colored laser beam at the sky and create a massive summoning gate. Red Skull laughs maniacally as he can feel the lost kingdom slowly being summoned back to this reality, and knows it won't be long until it is completely summoned.

Time Sanctuary

Inside a temple, Cia was looking through a scroll when she suddenly felt her own heart ache, sensing something is wrong. She clenches onto her aching head and rubs it, saying, "This feeling…The seal has been broken! The Sacred Treasures are being used…The Syndicate is getting closer to bringing back Chronoa…We're running out of time!" She desperately looks back at her scroll, "The Avengers disappeared from the timeline a while ago, and I don't know which timeline they ended up. This must be Mephiles's doing. I must hurry and find them, or all will be lost!"

Flame Core Zone (Future)

In the alternate future, the Avengers, Silver, and Blaze have ventured into a volcanic wasteland that pulsates with deadly lava flows and eruptions. It wasn't long until they came across a volcano from the distance, which erupts as it launches boulders around the area.

Kamala stares nervously at the erupting volcano, "Uh, we're not going INTO the erupting volcano, are we?" She turns to Blaze.

"Yes we are." Blaze answered stoically. "This area is the source of Iblis's strength. I can sense him replenishing his power after the last time Silver and I defeated him. If we want to seal him away, we must strike now before he regains his full power!"

"Let him. It will make little difference against our combined power!" Thor boasted.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Flame Core (Volcano)

"That's the attitude I want to hear!" Silver retorts with a grin, admiring his new friend's confidence, "Let's hurry and fly inside!" He levitates into the air, using his psychic powers on Blaze as he flies themselves into the volcano.

"You heard Silver! Hold onto a flier or Hulk!" ordered Captain America, grabbing Thor's hand as he flies themselves into the volcano as well. Iron Man holds onto Spidey and Black Widow as he flies through the air, before Tails follows them using his namesakes.

"We are SO gonna die." joked Kamala, using her stretchy arms as he latches onto Hulk's back.

"Most likely." Ruby quips, as she and Wolverine allow themselves to be grabbed by Hulk before he makes one mighty leap towards the top of the volcano.

Once the heroes dropped into the volcano, they were confronted by several Iblis Takers and an Iblis Worm. Blaze and Widow were quick to shoot down the Takers while Silver paralyzes the Worm, allowing Steve to kill it with a shield throw before they move towards a stone door. "Care to get the door for us, flatware?" Spidey jokingly asks Silver.

"One sec!" said Silver, telekinetically pulling down the door as the group enter a dark room with platforms and lava.

"Would love to be Blake right now and have her night vision." Ruby quips, struggling to see in this darkness.

"Blaze, can you give us a little light?" asked Steve. Blaze complies as she raises her hand and ignites it, allowing everyone to see most of the area.

Iron Man ascends to the sky and scans for an exit, which he finds across the room and is guarded by purple Iblis Monsters. Iblis Stalkers spot the hero and fire laser breath at him. "Found the exit and its guard dogs!" quips Tony, dodging the laser breath.

"Keep moving, but watch your footing!" Steve retorted, carefully leaping over a lava pit to a platform and dodging fireballs from Iblis Takers.

"I got your footing!" Silver telekinetically lifts up several platforms and have them levitate in place, helping his grounded friends across the room and be less worried about the lava river. Kamala jumps over a lava pit and the flame breath of an Iblis Biter, delivering two downward kicks that slam the Biter to its death. Tails flies around, smacking flying monsters with Spin Attacks while Spidey does the same with Web Strikes. On the ground, Wolverine and Ruby slash through a small horde towards Iron Man, who blows away the door guards with missiles.

Hulk roars as he leaps towards the door, smashing it into pieces and opening a path for his friends. "Wow. You're really strong." Silver said in awe, complimenting Hulk's incredible strength.

"You haven't seen nothing yet." Hulk remarks stoically.

"Actually he has, but a different version of him." quips Widow.

"I am still very confused that you seem to know another me from an…alternate timeline?" Silver remarks with a confused look on his face while flying over lava.

"It's time travel. It confuses EVERYONE." Spidey quips, jumping from platform to platform that is slowly riding down a lava river.

Thor rapidly swings his hammer as a swarm of Iblis Monsters fly towards him. "These fire demons remind me of the ones from Muspelheim. They are equally persistent to be blown away by the might of Mjolnir!" He says, launching powerful winds from his hammer to blow away the flames of the Monsters, seamlessly killing them at the same time.

Nearby, Tails notice Hulk and Blaze having a little trouble handling a horde that accompanied by an Iblis Titan that Hulk is trying so hard to smash. The little fox hurries to Silver and shouts, "Silver! We need to finish off the little ones so Hulk and Blaze can focus on the big guy!"

"Right! I have an idea! Come at me!" Silver gestures while hovering.

Tails spinjumps towards Silver, who catches him with his psychokinesis. The hedgehog charges his power before psychically throwing Tails around and destroying as many Iblis Monsters as they can to make destroying the Titan easier. Blaze bombards the Titan's core with fireballs, allowing Hulk to finish it off with a ferocious uppercut that shatters it into pieces.

"Silver was right. Your strength IS impressive." Blaze said, coolly smiling at the gamma berserker.

Hulk smiles back at her, "Nothing hotter than a good ol' smash."

"I am NOT taking that outta context." Spidey quipped.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Flame Core (The Cavern)

As the Avengers continue their venture through the volcano, Ruby walks next to Silver and says to him, "So Silver. Back at the bunker, we heard you call Fury 'dad'. Is that true?"

"Yeah. He adopted me and Blaze when we were kids after we lost our parents. He's been raising us, and training us when our powers manifested and believes we're the only ones who can defeat Iblis one day." Silver replied.

"He knew of you two's potential after meeting the Silver and Blaze that we know." Widow remarked.

"I always knew he was hiding something from us. How he knew so much of our power from the get-go." said Blaze.

"No matter the timeline, you can always count on Fury on keeping secrets even from his own kids." Stark quipped.

"Despite that, he is a loving father that has been consumed with so much guilt." Blaze responded.

"Not surprising. Iblis was an accident by SHIELD and has destroyed this entire world. To be consumed with guilt for centuries must have been torture. I sympathize." Thor commented.

Silver frowns with a serious expression while glancing at his friends, "He's been such a good dad to us for years. Helping him fix his mistake is the least we can do!"

"And that WILL happen, my friend. Today is the day Iblis will be vanquished and this world will know the meaning of peace once more!" Thor smiled, cheering up the young hedgehog.

"Thanks. And I know we WILL win this time, whatever it takes." Silver smiled.

"Just wish the Chronoblade was still working. It helped quite a bit against the Iblis in our time, but now it has lost its power." Spidey remarks, frowning beneath his mask.

"I've been thinking about that. I have an idea that could recharge the Chronoblade." Stark claims, which got his group's interest.

"How?" Spidey questioned.

"Simple. We'll have Iblis recharge it." quips Stark, shocking his friends.

"You want IBLIS'S help?!" Silver retorted.

"That sounds like a terrible idea!" Kamala quipped.

Tony glances at his friends while saying, "Hear me out. The Chronoblade was made from parts of the Time Eater, and for those who don't know, had the power to absorb time from anything. Iblis was once the power source of a cosmic time god, meaning if we can siphon enough of his energy, it should bring the Chronoblade back to full power and we can use it to warp ourselves to the Time Sanctuary."

"Stealing Iblis's power? I'll admit, I have my doubts that it'll work." Blaze commented.

"It will! It has to." Stark responded, hoping his plan will work.

Wolverine sniffs the air as Silver opens a door into another massive room. "Smellin' Iblis's flames growing stronger. We're gettin' close." Logan proclaimed.

"I'll say. Look at that ball of fire over there!" Kamala points at a giant ball of flame hovering over lava in the center of the room.

Silver expresses a shocked look as he asks, "What is that thing? Is that the power of Iblis!?"

Stark scans the massive core and quips, "That looks like the perfect recharging station for the Chronoblade. Spidey, we need to get you closer and stab it with the sword!"

Just then, the core unleashes a massive firewave that forces the heroes to immediately take cover behind some rocks. "Provided that I don't get burned to a crisp!" Spidey quipped.

The heroes rush up a pathway that'll take them closer to the core. As they do, Cap observes the core and notice it powering up for another firewave. "Take cover!" He shouted, quickly prompting his friends to hide behind the nearest cover spot before the firewave is unleashed. "It seems like the attacks come in regular intervals…" Steve noted. He turns to Ruby, "Ruby, the second the next wave hits, take Spider-Man to the top of the core. Understand?"

Ruby nods, "Completely."

Spidey feels his Spider-Sense tingling while looking at the core powering up, "Here comes the next one!"

The core unleashes its shockwave while the heroes take cover from it. The second the attack ended, Cap shouts, "NOW!", prompting Ruby to grab ahold of Spider-Man's hand and use her Semblance to fly themselves at inhuman speeds to the top of the core.

Spidey summons the Chronoblade and twirls it while saying, "Hope this works or else we're toast!" He stabs the core with the blade, cracking it as he concentrates to absorb the energies of Iblis. It appears to be working as streams of fires from all around the core flow into the Chronoblade while the Avengers watch in awe. The Chronoblade becomes engulfed in flames as the lava floor begins to molten, just like the core before it bursts into smoke as Spidey and Ruby fall into it.

"The lava has cooled." Blaze noticed.

Hulk was among the first to jump to the molten lava floor and looks at the smokescreen while shouting, "Spidey! Ruby! You two okay?"

Ruby walks out of the smokescreen, revealing that she is fine while saying, "We're fine! And look! The plan worked!" She smiles while turning to the smokescreen.

Suddenly, the massive smokescreen was cleared from within by Spider-Man swinging his repowered Chronoblade, which now blazes with red cosmic flames. "A little too well. Was it supposed to catch on fire?" Spidey jokingly asked.

"It is like you are wielding the Twilight Sword!" Thor compares the flaming Chronoblade to the Sword of Surtur.

Iron Man scans the enhanced Chronoblade and remarks with a smile, "Awesome! The Chronoblade's energy is back at full power! And as a bonus, we get to keep a portion of Iblis's power to use against him."

Silver's eyes widen in shock upon hearing that statement, "Incredible! To be able to take Iblis's power like that…"

"The Time Eater and Solaris aren't very different from each other. Makes sense why Iblis's power is so compatible with the Chronoblade. Too bad it's not designed to contain ALL of Iblis so we won't have to rely on Fury's shoddy repair job on the Sol Vessel." Iron Man proclaimed.

"It's still good enough! Now, all we have to do is take him down!" Silver retorts, then leads the group towards Iblis's location.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-The Last Clash with Iblis

The Avengers run through a corridor that leads them out of the volcano to a massive arena that is mostly covered with lava. The heroes run up to a large cliffside and confront the Flames of Disaster himself, Iblis, who emerges from the flames in his perfect form for one final fight.

"Iblis!" Steve announced, recognizing the Flames of Disaster.

"Think he's a little mad I stole some of his power." quips Spidey, wielding Fire Chronoblade while looking at the beast.

Wolverine snarls as he unsheathes his claws and glares at Iblis while quipping, "Then we'll help him cool off."

Silver intensely points at his fiery nemesis and says, "C'mon, Iblis! This time I'll finally stop you!" His declaration makes Iblis give out a roar and approaches to attack them.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Iblis Phase 3

Iblis slams its massive hands down towards the platform, but were barely caught by Silver's powers as he struggles to lift them. "It looks like he's getting closer to his final form." Blaze commented.

"Throw everything you have on his face! Knock him away from the foothold!" Cap ordered.

The heroes launch an all-out assault on Iblis's face that don't do much to make him flinch. Wolverine lunges onto Iblis's face and stabs two of his eyes, which finally make him flinch in pain. "Left an eye for me? You shouldn't have." quips Spidey, as he leaps to the eye in the middle of Iblis's forehead and impales it with his Chronoblade. Iblis roars from the attack as it staggers away while Peter and Logan jump off of him, allowing Thor and Hulk a turn to strike.

"HULK AND THOR SMASH FIRE LIZARD!" shouted Hulk, as the two powerhouses deliver a simultaneous smash to Iblis's face with the force to knock him far backwards until he stops himself.

Iblis raises his arms to issue forth a salvo of fireballs at his enemies. "INCOMING!" shouted Cap, blocking an incoming fireball but was still knocked to the ground. Others like Ruby and Thor were briefly knocked down by the volley, while others with acrobatic skills like Black Widow and Spider-Man manage to dodge them just fine. Silver caught several fireballs and hurls them across the molten ocean to chip away at Iblis's armor, with assistance from Blaze and her own barrage of fireballs. Iblis withstands the attacks launched at him and slowly approaches the foothold.

"We'll be in trouble if we let him get close. Fliers, let's go greet him up close!" said Iron Man, leading the likes of Thor, Tails, and Silver as they fly towards Iblis.

"Be careful if he shoots shockwaves!" Spidey shouted them a piece of advice.

Iblis begins to do just that and unleash a series of shockwaves that speed across the lava towards the flying heroes. "Good job giving him the idea to do that!" Tony says sarcastically, while his group dodges the shockwaves to the best of their ability, until they weren't and each were knocked away by a shockwave.

Tails nearly falls to the lava ocean screaming until he was caught in time by Silver's powers. He smiles at the psychic, "Thanks, Silver!"

"You're welcome! Let's do that team move again!" said Silver.

"Yeah!" Tails agrees while curling himself into a ball.

Silver charges the fox with his psychic power before launching him at Iblis's face, striking him multiple times from range before delivering one last impactful strike that causes Iblis to growl in pain. "Lemme give it something to look at!" quips Iron Man, unveiling all of his suit's repulsor-powered weapons, from repulsor cannons to missile launchers, and fires everything to stun Iblis. While the living flame is stunned, Thor had been spinning his hammer overhead and summoned a massive thunderstorm to charge for an incredibly powerful attack.

"IBLIS!" Thor shouted angrily. "Your flames have ravaged this world LONG ENOUGH! They may rival the Fire Giant Surtur and the Dreaded Dormammu's, but no flame can match my lightning! FOR MIDGARD!" He unleashes a mighty yell and blasts Iblis with a devastating powerful bolt of lightning, electrocuting the beast to the point of roaring in agony.

"KEEP GIVING IT TO HIM, THOR!" Ruby cheers him on.

"YEAH! Show that monster what it means to be the God of Thunder!" Ms. Marvel cheers on the thunderer as well.

"His power DOES equal Iblis! Our chances at winning have improved immensely!" Blaze comments on Thor's power.

"Leave some for me, Goldilocks!" shouted Hulk, leaping high through the air towards the stunned Iblis. He slams onto his face with enough force to knock it out of Thor's lightning, then repeatedly punches it with devastating punches. Iblis gets annoyed by his punches and grabs the tiny smasher, throwing him through the walls of the volcano. He then smacks away Iron Man, Silver, and Tails that were flying around him before unleashing a massive fire beam from his mouth to briefly knock Thor down from the sky. With the fliers incapacitated for now, Iblis moves in towards the platform where the grounded heroes are standing on.

"It's walking towards us again!" Spidey noticed.

"Then force it to walk backwards! Kamala, throw these molten rocks right at its face!" Widow ordered.

Kamala enlarges her hands to grab a handful of cooled balls of lava that were sitting on the platform and hurls them at Iblis while shouting, "Chew on these!" Her attacks don't slow him down, and neither does Blaze's fireballs. But the sword beams fired from Spidey's Chronoblade do stun it briefly with every shot that connects with his body.

"Beat you once before, Iblis, and I'll do it again! This time using a little of your own power!" Spidey charges the blade with fiery quantum energy, then fires it as a massive energy beam that pushes back the living flame. Growing annoyed by their resistance, Iblis unleashes a massive shockwave that knocks down the grounded heroes before raising his arms and conjures up a massive lava sphere.

"He's going to try to destroy the foothold from a distance this time! Here it comes!" shouted Wolverine.

Iblis catapults the sphere across the foothold. But as the lava sphere is almost upon the foothold with the weakened heroes, Silver comes to their rescue and catches it with his powers, much to everyone's shock at the display of his powers. "Just a little more…I will end this NOW!" shouts Silver, throwing the sphere back to deal incredible damage to Iblis.

Hulk reappears out of the volcano with a furious roar and punches Iblis a few times until Thor shows up with lightning blasts. Tails returns to strike Iblis across the face with a Spin Attack, before Iron Man fires a painful Unibeam to an eye. "He's losing power! GIVE HIM EVERYTHING YOU GOT!" Tony shouted.

"You heard him! POUR IT ON!" shouted Cap, as the heroes launch one final assault to defeat Iblis once and for all.

"Silver, catch!" Spidey throws the Fire Chronoblade to Silver, who catches it.

"Why?" Silver questioned.

"I beaten the Iblis of my time. This is your home! YOUR world to save! Only fitting you finish him!" said Spidey, encouraging Silver to use the sword to defeat Iblis.

"Thanks! I'll do just that! Cover me, guys!" shouted Silver, wielding the Chronoblade as he flies towards Iblis's head. He imbues the fiery sword with his psychic energy as he stands on his head and shouts, "It all ends! IBLIS!" before impaling its forehead eye with the full might of the Chronoblade.

"GYRAAAAAAAAAAH…" Iblis roars painfully from the devastating power of the Chronoblade as he falls back to sink into the sea of lava. All of the heroes regroup on the platform as Steve says, "Good job, Silver. You beat him." to congratulate him.

"WE beat him! Together." said Silver, handing the Fire Chronoblade back to Spidey.

With the battle done, the flame pillar rises up. Bits of magma fall onto the ground as Iblis has become nothing but a ball of flame again. "TIME STOP!" Spidey shouts, pointing the Chronoblade at the flames and freezing it in time. Silver holds out the Sol Vessel as Peter says, "Different verse, same as the first. Chronoblade, lend me your power! Eternal Sun! The Living Flame that was worshipped by the lost kingdom! Fall back into your slumber for the rest of eternity! You cursed Flames of Disaster!"

The Chronoblade glows up, as Iblis' flames are being absorbed into the Sol Vessel. But unlike before, Spidey is having trouble maintaining control over Iblis. He can feel him trying to break free from the time freeze through brute force alone, causing his flames to become wild. Peter grunts and tries to hold up his strength as best as he can, "This was so much easier when I was Super Spidey…"

Silver is also struggling holding the Sol Vessel, as it tries to contain the increasingly wild flames of Iblis. The flames briefly flail around and burst, knocking back both heroes. And while Spidey was only pushed backwards, Silver was knocked down and accidently drops the Sol Vessel to the sea of lava below, much to everyone's horror and surprise as it sinks to its destruction.

"The Sol Vessel!" Stark exclaimed.

"NO!" Silver yells in anger while slamming his fist to the ground, "That was our last chance! What other vessel can we use to seal Iblis away now?!"

"Better think of something fast! Don't know how long I can keep him still…" said Spidey, struggling to keep the flames at bay.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-You Are My Companion

Blaze looks at the ground for a moment, thinking of an idea that she doesn't want to share with her friends. She puts her hand on Silver's shoulder, and he looks at her saying, "Blaze!"

"I'll take Iblis." Blaze said, as everyone looks at her in shock and confusion.

"What do you mean? How?" Thor asked.

"Don't worry. My soul is already alit with flames. I will have better control of the flames within the Chronoblade. I will be accepted as the vessel." Blaze says, taking the Chronoblade away from Spider-Man and uses its power between him and Iblis. The fiery Chronoblade glow up, and Iblis is absorbed into her, causing flames to swirl around her as her chest glows up in light.

"Stop this, Blaze! This is too risky!" Spidey shouted at her.

"Listen, kid! Flames like these are too hard to control! They'll either kill you or turn you into something you're not!" shouted Wolverine, recalling Jean Grey's experiences with the Phoenix Force, "Let it go! We can find another way!"

"I have a way. Use your Time Stop on the Chronoblade…to stop time. Then…seal us into a different dimension." Blaze retorts, struggling to contain Iblis within her body.

"You're crazy!" Hulk retorted with a shocked look on his face.

"No way! We can't do something like that!" Silver argues with his best friend.

Blaze looks at him, "Didn't we already go through this? We agreed to save the world, WHATEVER it takes! To fix our father's mistake!"

"Fury wouldn't want you to sacrifice yourself like this!" Steve retorted.

Silver looks sadden while staring at Blaze, "We can't! …I can't. I mean, you're my friend, aren't you!? You and Dad fought alongside me to save the world. We're family…right!?"

Blaze looks disappointed as she says, "You're still so naïve. But…" She turns to face Silver and the Avengers, "I…I've always liked that about you." She holds out the Chronoblade, then closes her eyes and focuses her thoughts before unleashing its power. A dark shield appears around her, and she drops the Chronoblade as she and Iblis fade into the void.

"Blaze!" Tails exclaimed.

"Don't go!" Ruby shouted.

"BLAAAAAAZE!" Silver yells, chasing the vanishing Blaze and stops as she floats up and waves goodbye to everyone.

"Good luck, Silver. Tell father that I love him. And thank you, Avengers, for returning hope to this world…!" Blaze says her final words to her friends as she floats upward and glows up with Iblis as Silver and the Avengers look up to see her float to the clouds, and explodes in light. Rays of light descend upon the heroes, and Crisis City brightens up, quenching the lava and the flames altogether. The remaining heroes looks up in the sky, and the sun appears in the now-clear sky above where Blaze had been. Silver and the Avengers stand next to the Chronoblade as they mourn her loss next to the lava pool.

Later at Crisis City…

The survivors of Crisis City revealed themselves above ground after realizing Iblis has, at long last, been vanquished. People celebrate in many different joyful ways from the rooftops down to the streets. Old Nick Fury walks pass people celebrating as he walks to the Avengers, who have returned to the city alongside Silver. Fury smiles at them, "You all done this old man proud. The instant Iblis got sealed, all traces of his power vanished from the earth."

"Thanks. But…it wasn't without sacrifice." Steve said somberly.

Fury looks confused and says, "Sacrifice? Wait…" He scans the group to find no sign of Blaze anywhere, "Where's Blaze?"

Each of the Avengers frown in various sadden ways, looking away from the old director, which gives him hints of Blaze's fate. Silver approaches his adopted father with teary eyes and hugs him, causing Fury to realize Blaze's sacrifice with a stunned expression and mutters, "No…" Tears stream down his eye as he embraces his adopted son.

"We're sorry, Nick. Wish we could've done something." Steve apologizes for Blaze's sacrifice.

"This is all my fault…If only I shut down Project PEGASUS sooner, then NONE of this would've happened. So many lives lost. How…could I ever make this up?" Fury wonders, blaming himself for centuries of chaos and destruction caused by Iblis.

"You already did." said Silver, breaking away from the hug. "You raised me and Blaze to save the world, and that's what we did. That's why Blaze sacrificed herself, because she loved you. She didn't want you to be consumed with guilt anymore and move on."

Fury thinks over his son's words for a moment before nodding with a small smile, "…I'll try. Thanks, kiddo. You and Blaze will always be family, even though she's not here. It's time for us to move on with our lives. Work towards the future. And we have a lot of work ahead of us." He looks at the Avengers, "Thanks, Avengers. For coming to our aid one last time."

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Ultimate Alliance Returns (Main Title)

Steve smiles, "What are friends for?"

"Now that the Chronoblade is working again, you guys can return to your own time." Silver said to the Avengers.

"It still can't time travel, but…" quips Spidey, swinging the Chronoblade and finally open a portal to the Time Sanctuary, "I can finally open a portal to the Time Sanctuary. We'll have Cia return us to our time."

"Cia? So you know her. Heh. Haven't heard from her in centuries. Lost the crystal to communicate with her. Tell her I said hi." Fury grinned.

"We will. It was good to see you again, Nick." said Steve, shaking hands with the old man.

"Likewise, Captain." Fury responded.

"Let's hurry back. Getting the feelin' that our world is on the brink of destruction." said Tony, as each Avenger hop into the portal. He looks at Silver and says, "You're the Avenger of this timeline, kid. Make us proud!" He officially appoints the Silver of this timeline as an Avenger.

Silver smiles with a nod, "I will! And good luck!" He says, as he and the people of Crisis City wave goodbye to the Avengers as Iron Man was the last one to hop into the portal, looking forward to saving his timeline from the Syndicate.

KFX Here: I had the idea to kill off Old Nick Fury (having him being killed by Mephiles) in this chapter and include a fight against both Mephiles and Iblis, but didn't want to make things complicated. At least the Chronoblade gets an upgrade. We are approaching the last three chapters (not counting the epilogue), so get hype.

Question of the Chapter: What can you compare/contrast between Iblis (and by the extension Solaris) and the Phoenix Force? Which is stronger, which is weaker, etc.
