Damon

After Stefen said that I looked up at Serana and knew instantly that he was right. I wanted to kill Elena but first we had to reverse the spell. I pulled her off of me and tied her up. She started yelling so I tied something around her mouth. Stefen had watched me and I walked up to him and looked down at Elena in his arms. She was clearly in pain and she was holding onto my jacket as if her life depended on it.

"It hurts." She whispered and I saw the tears fall down her cheeks.

I pulled out my phone and called Bonnie.

"Hello?" Bonnie asked.

"Bonnie its Damon and before you hang up please listen. I know Elena had you do a spell. I need you to undo it. She lied to you and now Serana is dying. Do you remember Serana?" I asked and felt so bad.

"Wait you mean the girl from two years ago? She came back? Did you just leave Elena without thinking about how she would retaliate? This is your problem Damon." Bonnie said and I sat down on the bed.

"Bonnie, she's sixteen. She made me think about leaving Elena. I almost didn't but I couldn't stay with Elena Bonnie because I love Serana. Please don't punish her, she's innocent Bonnie. She has barely lived her life Bonnie. Please don't let her die. Please." I begged and my vision became blurry and I dropped the phone.

Stefen handed me Serana and I took her and started crying even harder.

"I'm so sorry Serana. I should have never brought you into this. I'm so sorry." I said and I felt her hand on my face and saw that the poison was now creeping up her neck.

"It's not your fault. I came back. It was my decision. Please don't blame yourself. Besides if I die so will she. My human body won't be able to survive a vampire soul. She just signed her own death warrant. So in the end I also win." She said and laughed and then coughed up blood.

I looked up at Stefen.

"I can't lose her, Stefen." I said and then I heard Bonnie.

"I'm coming Damon. I won't let Elena die." Bonnie said and I got pissed and then Serana coughed again.

"Hold on please Serana." I begged.

The door downstairs opened and I heard Bonnie rush upstairs and stop at my doorway. I looked up and I saw the surprise on her face. She rushed to Serana.

"What's happening to Elena's body?" She asked.

"It's a fast acting poison. I don't know. It certainly won't be the permanent death of Elena's body but if Serana dies while in Elena's body and Elena's soul doesn't return to Elena's body, Elena will also die." I said and Bonnie put her hand on Serena's forehead.

"Hi Bonnie." She mumbled and then coughed again.

Bonnie appeared angry and went over to Elena and reached under her shirt and pulled out a knife and cut off a bra.

"That's Serena's." I said.

"It's what Elena used to link the spell. All we have to do is burn it." Bonnie said and pulled a lighter out and threw the bra in the sink and set it on fire.

Elena's thrashed and Serana let go of my jacket and then I dropped Elena's body and went over to Serana. Her body had gone completely limp and then her eyes opened and she tried to breathe. She was scared.

"Easy it's okay. You're okay Serana." I said and untied her.

"That was scary Damon. I saw so many dead souls. I." She said and her eyes went wide as she looked at me.

"What? Serana what's wrong?" I asked and she smiled.

"It's your aura." She said and Bonnie came to Serana.

"What do you mean? You can see auras?" Bonnie asked and Serana nodded her head.

"Yes and I can also tell that Stefen and Damon have souls. I know Vampires think after they die and come back that their soul doesn't but they do." Serana said.

I looked towards Bonnie.

"It's a side effect. Every spell has one. They don't always have to be the same but she will see auras for the rest of her life." Bonnie said and then she looked at Elena and shivered.

"What's wrong Serana?" I asked.

"It's Elena's aura. It's not right." Serana said and shied away from her.

Bonnie knelt in front of Serana.

"What color is Elena's aura Serana?" Bonnie asked and I could see the fear on Serena's face.

"I can see the darkness from her being a vampire and I can see some pink but it's almost like she's just gone. Like, oh no. She shut off her humanity. That's the only thing that could cause this." She said and shivered.
