The next week was just as crazy as the week before. I met with Liz and her husband for dinner... he was not a nice man. He was charming, but you could tell he was an asshole. I was glad that get to spend time with her. I had started to talk to her as much as I was talking to Becky. Work was about as normal as it could be since it was now out that I was dating the prince. My boss was happy for me, and thankfully let me move my desk to the back. I used to be near the front, and people used to come in just to look at me... and that was just Monday. I couldn't take it and moved my desk on Tuesday. The one good thing was that adoptions, fostering, and donations were way up, which was great for the RSPCA. I had also seen or talked to Drew daily. Stu would message me about things that I needed to know, but that was the extent of our relationship now. I was still a little hurt by what had happened between us. I did want to stay friends.
I checked my messages and email before leaving work a little early. Becky and I were slipping out to go workout. I wanted to work out some of this stress and since Seth owned a gym it was a win win for Becky. I knew that Roman was going to be there since he was a trainer, and we still talked most days. He was really nice about me dating Drew, and just said he wished he was a few days earlier. Becky and I changed before heading over to the gym.
"Hey, you got away." Seth said as he hugged Becky and then me. I smiled at him and waved at Roman who was working with someone at that moment. We got to work on a workout and I was having fun. We were working out, listening to music, and everything almost seemed normal. Roman was helping me with something when I looked up to see a crowd in the window of the gym. Roman followed my gaze and cussed under his breath. Becky and Seth also saw it and Becky gave me a sad look. Seth went over and locked the doors.
"They can't get in." he said and I chuckled as Roman turned the music up louder.
"Let's have so fun until they get bored." he said and I shrugged. We were working out and dancing as we hid mostly in the back, but the crowd kept growing. I wasn't even royalty and this was insane. We were working out when there was a knock on the backdoor. Seth and Roman looked at each other before shrugging. Roman walked over and looked out.
"It's the prince." he said and they all glanced at me. I walked over and pushed the door open to find Drew and his bodyguard, Adam, looking down at me.
"Hi." I said and curtsy as Drew chuckled. Adam was watching the ally they were currently standing in and I knew that it wouldn't take long before someone came around here.
"I see you know how to make a scene." he said and I nodded before letting them in. I introduced Drew to my friends and he was happy to meet them. He was talking to Seth and Roman about working out, and by the time they were done Drew had agreed to come workout here on Saturday to help the gym. I was glad that Drew was trying with my friends, like I had with his. He walked to the window and waved as people went crazy and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Would you like me to help you get out of here?" Adam asked me as Drew walked back towards us.
"I think that would be best." I said as I hugged Becky, Roman, and Seth. Becky was coming over later for Chinese, and I was glad that this didn't ruin the afternoon. I got into the car with Drew and Adam. We drove past the gym so that people would see that we left before heading into London.
"Thanks." I said and he chuckled.
"I saw it on the news and figured you might need rescuing." he said and I smirked.
"I didn't realize that I played the damsel in distress so well." I joked and he was laughing at me.
"You have nice friends." he said and I nodded.
"Yeah, Becky is coming over tonight for Chinese." I said and he nodded.
"You can come and I will tell her to bring Seth and Roman." I said and he gave a small smile. He looked a little sad that I had plans, but I realized that if we were dating then we should probably be around each others friends.
"I would like to hang out with your friends, and I have never seen your place." he said and I smiled at him. He was trying. I called Becky and invited Seth and Roman. They seemed happy to come as Drew called Stu to tell him what was going on. We got back to my place and by that time Becky, Seth, Roman, Stu, Drew, and Stephen were all coming over tonight. I wasn't even sure if my apartment was that big. I put in an order for more beer, soda and some snacks. I also ordered the Chinese to be here around 18:00. I was glad that Margo was playing with Drew as I finished up and changed. I came out in yoga pants, a long t-shirt, and my hair in a bun. Drew stopped when I walked out and looked at him.
"You look nice." he said and I laughed as I started folding the blanket that was on the back of the sofa.
"Thanks, but this is far from nice. I just want to be comfortable." I said as he walked over to me. He made everything in my apartment look so small.
"And you look good being comfortable." he said as he pressed his lips to mine. I moaned as I slipped my hands around his waist. He chuckled as Margo nudged up against us and I petted her.
"Thank you for hanging out with my friends." I said as there was a knock at the door. He opened it before I could stop him and the delivery person was shocked to see the prince answering the door. I quickly accepted the order, tipped them really well, and hoped they didn't tell anyone where I lived. I chuckled as Drew looked a little embarrassed at opening the door.
"I'm sorry." he said and I waved it off.
"I didn't realize how some small things you really can't do because of reactions like that." I said and he chuckled as he got us two beers. He kissed me as there was a knock on the door. They were all here right on time at 17:30.
They all got here, the night was going well, the Chinese was good, and then Becky found the Cards against Humanity on my shelf. I wasn't sure how that would be accepted since I wasn't sure if that was too low brow for them. I loved the game, but I didn't want to cause any problems. I was glad that everyone was getting along. Drew, Roman, and Stephen were having fun talking about working out. Stu and Seth had gotten along about music; Becky and I were just watching what was happening around us since this was usually our girls night.
"We have to play. It's fun!" she said as Seth and Roman agreed. Stu had heard of it, Stephen was up for it, and Drew had no idea what it was, but wanted to play. We all crowded around the table, got beers, and started to play. I was wedged between Stu and Drew. I was across from Becky who could tell that something was quite right. I gave her the 'We would talk later' look as we started to play. I was having fun when I felt Drew's hand on my leg, and I smirked at him. I kept bumping up against Stu, and gave him a small smile as he smirked. I felt him start to do it on purpose and ignored it. He knew how to get under my skin, but I wasn't going to let it show.
I had a few more beers, and the game was going well when I felt Stu's hand on my thigh. I knew that he had already had a few beers so I could imagine this was a huge lapse of judgment as I was sitting right next to my boyfriend, his boss, and the crown prince of the country we were living in. The game continued on until after 2 am when I was finally glad that Stephen called it because he was tired. I was just glad that everyone was getting along. Becky hugged me as she left with Seth and Roman. Stephen left, Drew got into his waiting car with Adam, and Stu was still here because he had offered to help me clean up. Drew didn't object so I guess he really did trust his best friend.
"Good night, Stu." I said as I started to clean up. He was helping me and I took it all from him.
"Night." I said and he sighed.
"Jodi..." he was saying and I stopped him.
"Good night... you won't get lucky this time." I said as I pulled the door open for him. He looked very conflicted, but finally dropped a kiss to my forehead before was his plan... to make me leave Drew for him? Which he told me I couldn't do? He was so fucking annoying.
