The Mando Jetii
Viceroy Gunray captured. Senator Padme Amidala has scored a victory against the Separatist Alliance on the remote world of Rodia, securing the arrest of the diabolical confederate leader, Nute Gunray. The Jedi Council dispatched Master Luminara Unduli and Anakin Skywalker's Padawan Ahsoka to escort the viceroy to Coruscant under heavy guard. Once there, he will face trial for his many war crimes.
Onboard a Republic Light Assault Cruiser
Jedi Master Luminara Unduli enters the cockpit of the cruiser taking a moment to look out the viewports before speak to the clone piloting the cruiser.
"Captain, have you made contact with the cruiser?" She asked him.
"Yes, general. We'll patch you through now." The Captain replied before pressing a button and the image of three Senate Commando's appeared.
"Jedi cruiser Tranquillity, this is General Luminara Unduli requesting permission to land." She said to the Commando.
"you are cleared, general. We await your prisoner's arrival." The Commando replied.
"Thank you, Captain Argyus. I look forward to delivering him to you." She said to the now identified Commando.
"I am a man of great wealth, and I can be generous to my allies." Nute Gunray said attempting to bride Commander Gree.
"That is a very tempting offer, viceroy. In the meantime, I have a gift for you." Commander Gree said taking a pair of binders from behind his back. And shake them in his face before turning him around and putting them on him.
Ahsoka turned away at this point and walked over to Master Unduli as the rear of the Venator came into sight.
"Finally. It's been such a boring trip." Ahsoka said as she stopped next to Master Unduli.
"Speak for yourself, 'Soka'." Javak said drawing Ahsoka's attention as he stopped in the doorway to the cockpit. His chest armour had been removed along with the under suit as well, so that a medic could examine him for any injures, which left his upper body exposed. Revealing his pale skin, several scars across his body and the bacta pack that had been applied to his chest, shoulder and left side of his head to heal any internal injuries he may have received from the blaster bolts that impacted against his armour.
Ahsoka blushed slightly staring at Javak's ripped body that she forgot he possessed as the cruiser went into final docking procedure with the Tranquillity.
After a short while Master Luminara, Padawan Ahsoka, Javak and Commander Gree were escorting Gunray to the ship's holding cells.
"This is an outrages miscarriage of justice. I demand to see my litigator." Gunray complained.
"Keep moving." Commander Gree told him pushing him forward as they are met by Captain Argyus and four additional Commando's.
"Greeting, general. We have the brig all ready for this traitor." The Captain informed Master Unduli.
"Very Good, captain. Commander Gree, let's get underway." She said turning to the Commander.
"Right away, sir. Let's move." The commander replied before shouting at Gunray making his flinch away from the clone.
Nute Gunray walks forward as two commandos' step to the side then stepping back in behind him and escorted him the rest of the way into the brig followed lastly by Commander Gree.
"Senate Commandos? How does a money-grubbing worm like Gunray rate all this security? He doesn't look that dangerous." Ahsoka asked.
"Don't let your overconfidence give Gunray another advantage, Ahsoka. Even now, his allies may be conspiring against us." Master Unduli told her.
"Then let's get this over with, the sooner we break the hut'uun, the better." Javak said coming up behind them with his armour back on with BD-9 walking next to him rather than being at his usual spot.
As the Tranquillity begins traveling away from Rodia preparing to make the jump to hyperspace. Captain Argyus leaves the terminal he was using and approaches Commander Gree and asked for an update on the prisoner.
Meanwhile inside the holding cell Master Luminara Unduli and Padawan Javak are interrogating him using their force abilities to see into his mind while Ahsoka stands to Master Luminara's left side with her arms crossed growing impatient.
"Your thoughts betray you, viceroy. I can sense your concern, the fear that you will lose the wealth and power that this war has given you." Luminara said to him.
"I... have no idea what you're talking about." Nute Gunray stammers before replying unconvincingly to the Jedi Master.
"You hide a great many things: The names of your secret allies, the locations of their bases." She continues. As Javak force the force on Gunray seeking information.
"I am an innocent pawn in all of this." He said unconvincingly once more.
Javak stopped using the force at this point and scoffed choosing to speaking for the first time during the interrogation.
[Jedi Master Scoffs]
"You are merely a pawn, then who are you protecting?" She asked him.
"No one. I... I know nothing." Nute Gunray stammered once more.
It was at this moment that Ahsoka Tano found the limit to her patience and drew her lightsaber and threated to gut the viceroy like an Rikarian dirt fish. The padawan threat that scared the viceroy and made him fall of his chair backing into the wall away from the Jedi at that moment Master Unduli walked over and grabbed Ahsoka's arm and dragged her over to the entrance and whispery lectured her.
Nute Gunray after came out from under the table and suggested that they negotiated, however a sudden explosion rocked the ship followed by others as Commander Gree contacted the captain on the bridge for a status report.
Up on the bridge the captain ducked behind the control panel as three vulture droids strafed the bridge.
"Droid fighters, incoming. They've brought boarding ships." The captain informed the Commander. the ships internal alarms rang throughout the ship as the main weapons began firing at the attacking droids.
During the attack the Jedi walked out of Gunray's cell and stood around outside it as Commander Gree activated his vambrace's commlink.
"Green company, prepare to repel the enemy." Commander Gree told his men over the commlink.
During the fighting commander Gree is contacted by Green Leader informing them that Super Battle Droids had breached their Hull, that they are heading to the detention level and needed reinforcements when the sound of a singular blaster shot is heard and Green Leader death noise is heard over the commlink before cutting out.
"Commander, I'll need your assistance." Master Unduli said to the commander who nodded and donned his helmet and followed her.
"Let's go." Ahsoka said as she began to follow Master Unduli.
"You will stay here with Padawan Kryze and Captain Argyus. Guard the viceroy." She ordered.
Ahsoka attempted to object until Javak placed his hand on her shoulder stopping her.
"We will do as you say, master. jate'kara." Javak said then spoke in mando'a to her. Luminara nodded tohen walked away with Gree following.
Ahsoka then turned swatting Javak's hand off her shoulder whoever before she could complain Javak spoke first.
"She is by the book type Soka, there would have been no use in trying to argue with her." Javak explained before adding "Besides any droid that makes it past them will face the mighty Senate Commandos in all the blue armoured majesty." He said in Mando'a to Ahsoka that made her laugh.
"It appeared that you are in no position to negotiate after all, Padawan." Gunray taunted Ahsoka before continuing.
Ahsoka replied that maybe those droids are here to make sure that he won't talk.
"While we're waiting, why don't you and I have a nice long talk." Javak said as the shield to his cell shuts off and he steps inside the cell.
Skip the fight between 41st and Super Battle Droids
Javak had been interrogating the viceroy when he decides to take a break and leaves the cell joining Ahsoka, when the sounds of fighting shortly dies down. She turns towards the viceroy.
"Sounds like your rescue didn't work out after all." Ahsoka taunted.
"I am ready to discuss our bargain again." Nute Gunray replied looked defeated.
"Padawan Tano, may I have a word?" The captain asked as he approached them. Ahsoka smirked at Javak who rolls his eyes though she doesn't see it.
"Certainly captain." She replied before turning to the viceroy.
"If I leave, you won't go anywhere, will you?" She asked and the viceroy laughs sarcastically back. As Ahsoka walks over to the captain.
"I got the all-clear. The enemy has been repelled." He informed her
"And their attempt to free Gunray has...failed?" Ahsoka trailed off when the sound of lightsabers cutting through something drew her attention to behind the captain.
The unknown assailant drops down through the hole they had made and rendered the two closet commandos unconscious as Ahsoka and Javak approached with their lightsabers ignited.
Ahsoka and Ventress exchanged a couple of insults at each other while Javak said nothing even when Ventress insulted him as well. However, before they could fight, three BX-series commando droids drop down from the same hole.
Javak reacts first and engages the droids dispatching the first one with a downward strike, cutting the droid straight down the middle.
He ducks under the slash of the seconds and retaliates with a slash at it legs then grasping his saber in both hands brings it down onto the droid and impales it through the back.
The last commando droid leaps at him and drives its metallic knee into Javak's chest knocking back and the two engage in hand to hand with Javak winning when he grabs the droid by its faceplate and crushes it ending the final droid.
While Javak had been fighting the droids Ventress had gotten passed Ahsoka and opened Gunray's cell allowing him out. Ahsoka tried to deliver a downward slash on Ventress who simply moves out of the way and kick Ahsoka in the back knocking her into the cell before Gunray presses the button sealing her in.
Gunray then taunts Ahsoka however he quickly turns when he hears a lightsaber ignite and she Master Luminara charges forward into the detention room.
"Halt, Assassin!" Master Unduli shouts as she charges down the tight corridor.
"Surrender." She tells Ventress when she is joined by Commander Gree, Javak and a few troopers. Ventress simply deactivates her dual lightsabers and hold her hands surprising the others however her metal bracelet begins beeping and flashing before a big explosion rocks the ship knocking everyone but Luminara and Ventress down who uses force push on the Jedi Master before doing a front flip while just missing slicing down onto her before running off towards the elevator while being pursued. She leaps into the shaft using her lightsaber to control her descent. And Javak jumped into the shaft after her.
Luminara Unduli a few moments later went down the shaft and ran using the force to guide her.
Meanwhile in the engineering room.
Javak walks in seeing the devastation done, he walks along the catwalk sensing Ventress's presence.
"I know you are here; you consider yourself a skilled warrior and yet only cowards hide from their enemy." Javak said knowing that she'll react.
And react she did as Ventress leapt down from the ceiling bring her sabers down which Javak jumped back avoiding her attack. Ventress stands and stares at Javak
"You're the boy from Teth, I should've killed back on that planet." She spoke.
"Yes, you should have." Javak replied before Ventress lunges at him but Javak side stepped the strike and retaliates with a slash, Ventress stops and looks at her left arm and notices the bleeding wound that most definitely wasn't from a lightsaber. She looks at the padawan in anger and notices the dagger he is holding in his hand.
"What? Did you think, this was going to be a battle of sabers, dar'jetii? Let me show you how, Mandalorian's killed your kind." Javak said before going on the offensive.
A few minutes later...
Ventress is enraged at this point with multiple cuts she had received by the boy while she hadn't hit him once as she had grown accustomed to ligtsaber combat and was untrained for primitive fighting as she saw it (Skilled lightsaber user vs Mandalorian with a Kal) she eventually decided to end this and used force choke on Javak however before she could end him, Master Unduli arrived forcing Ventress to toss him of the catwalk and engage the Jedi Master.
Both women go into a saber lock before Ventress pushes Luminara back and slashes at a nearby pipe that shoots steam in the Jedi's left eye
Both force users continue fighting each and take the time to taunt each though Unduli win when she calls the assassin's fighting style unrefined, amateurish and sloppy enraging the Assassin.
They fight some more and try to use force push on each other and Ventress kicks Luminara in the abdomen then force leaps upwards and slices of pipes from the ceiling sending falling on top of the Jedi.
Master Unduli uses the force and manages not to get crushed by the pipes however one lands on her leg pinning her.
Ventress comes down and stands on top of the pipes and sees the jedi predicament and chooses to taunt before leaping at the Jedi but she is then hit by a force pushed away.
Luminara looks to her left and see Javak coming out of the smoke, his left arm hanging limply, clearly broken. Ahsoka arrives at this moment and help Master Unduli get unpinned.
"Master, are you alright?" Ahsoka said running to help Master Unduli first. And using her own saber to cut her free before giving it back.
"Yes, I'm fine. Javak what about you?" She asked as they both check him.
"I'll be alright. Let's deal with this dar'jetii first, then worry about my injuries." Javak replied.
However Master Unduli stopped him saying that with his injury he's in no condition to fight. But Javak simply pops his arm back in place, surprising both Jedi. (The scene in Blade Trinity between Hannibal King and Jarko Grimwood)
Ventress at this moment decides to come out of the pipe and engages the Jedi but finds herself outmatched as she can't handle all three at once. She chooses to force leap back up top and disappears.
"Typical dar'jetii." Javak spat as he watches her flee.
"We have to find her. We can't let her get to Gunray." Unduli said to the padawan's. They both nod and then force leap back up to the main platform.
Master Unduli takes this moment to apologises to Ahsoka and said that she should've followed her advice when her commlink goes off and Commander Gree's voice comes through informing the Jedi that they had been betrayed by captain Argyus.
As the jedi rush back the detention level Ventress force throws a pipe at the Jedi which Unduli senses it turns and slices the pipe.
"Javak, go to the detention level. Ahsoka and I shall handle the assassin." She said to Javak who does as told and leaves.
Javak runs with a purpose out of the engine room heading towards the elevator but due to the damage, he would have to climb up the elevator shaft.
Javak lowered the range finder on his helmet then fires his grabbling cable and begins climbing up the shaft. (Take the turbolift clip of Cal Kestis from Jedi Fallen Order)
After much climbing Javak reaches the detention level and sweeps the room from Gunray and the aruetii but only finds Commander Gree. The Mandalorian goes over and checks the commander and finds that he's only knocked unconscious and uses the force to resuscitate him.
The Commander of the 41st Elite Corps shoots up ready for a fight but Javak places a hand on his chest keeping him still.
"Take a breath, vod." Javak told the Commander before helping him up.
"He betrayed us, sir. All for credits." The Commander said with anger.
"He'll get his, I can promise you that, but first we need to find them. The ship is too damaged so they have no way to... escape." Javak said before being struck by realisation and turned to Commander Gree.
Who by the look on his face had come to the same conclusion, both Commanders ran to the cruiser that was still docked to the Venator but arrived too late as they looked out of the viewport and saw the cruiser and moments later saw an escape pod flying toward it.
Javak then activated his commlink and contacted Master Luminara Unduli informing but was told that she already knew and to head to the bridge so that they could contact the nearest Republic Fleet.
As Javak walked to the bridge, he couldn't help but remember what Senator Amidala said about what the capture of the Viceroy would mean for the war.
"So much for being this war to a quicker end." He remarked.
A few hours later
After the escape of the viceroy, the clone engineers were carrying out repair duties on the ship to keep it from further danger while Commander Gree and the rest of his men were able to secure the ship and eliminated any droids that remained active, the bridge staff were eventually able to contact the Jedi council and inform them of their situation.
"I'm sorry that despicable wealth-worm got away." Ahsoka said with anger and regret to Master Yoda and Skywalker holo-image.
"It's okay snips. I know you did your best." Anakin said to her.
"Master, I-" Ahsoka went on to say before being interrupted by Master Yoda.
"Troubling is the treachery of the Senate Guard, Captain Argyus. Revealed all around us are enemies are" Yoda said to the Jedi present.
"Master Yoda, perhaps we should inform Commander Fox of this aruetii within the Senate Guard rank." Javak suggested.
"Is that wise padawan?" Skywalker asked unsure about the suggestion.
"Commander Fox leads the Coruscant Guard and works directly with the Chancellor and if he is informed, he will launch an internal investigation and should there be any more like Captain Argyus they will be brought to light and dealt with." Javak explained.
Master Yoda thought about it for a few seconds then degan speaking.
"A fine suggestion, it is young padawan. Agree with you I do. Inform Commander Fox I shall." Master Yoda said.
Javak respectfully bowed to the Jedi Grand Master.
Master Luminara Unduli chose to add her two credits at this moment inform them that to aid in the Viceroy's escape they stole a republic vessel which Anakin quickly deduced that it could be tracked to which she replied that she had already contacted Master Kit Fisto to track the signal.
Master Yoda warmed that while Gunray is a coward, his allies are powerful and that caution should be taken if they are to recapture him.
Master Skywalker informed both Padawans that he shall meet them at the rendezvous point before their holo-image faded away. Ahsoka and Master Luminara spoke a little while before departing with mutual respect Ahsoka then walked over to her friend who was waiting by the doors and the pair walked together talking, joking and laughing on their way to the hanger bay ready to go back to their respective ships.
