"Good luck! Iris!" Shannon is holding on the Archen with Gladion and Max with Jirachi is on his lap sit next to her while Poipole is floating between Gladion and Shannon. Hawes decide to sit with the other scientists who are watching the other Archens

"This is going be a 2 on 2 Pokémon Battle; trainers sent out your Pokemon!"

"Alright go! Stoutland! The Normal-type Gym Leader throw a Pokeball that summon a canine like Pokémon," Stouuuuuuuu!"

"Wow, did your Herdier evolve!?" smiled Iris

"Axew!"

"Yeah, thanks to that, it got lot stronger than when it battles your friend" warned Lenora

Shannon check her Pokedex.

"Axew?" The Tusk Pokemon look at his trainer who pop a Pokeball," No Axew, I going use this guy, this is a perfect test for him" She throw it," I choose you! Druddigon!"

"Iris is going to use her Druddigon!" smiled Shannon

"Good Druddigon!" cheered The Wish Pokemon

"Let the battle begin!"

Lenora," Let me start this battle first, Stoutland use Take Down!" The canine like Pokémon charge at the Dragon-type Pokemon.

"Let give them a powerful welcome, Fire Punch!" Iris punch in the air causing Druddigon make a fist on fire. And punch the attacking Stouland causing to be push back to its side of the field.

"Are you okay? Stoutland?" The Big-Hearted Pokemon shake its head for a little bit," Stou!" which made its trainer smile," Okay..."

"Hmmmm?" Max look at the battle

"You notice to, right?" asked Gladion

"Yeah" nodded Max

"What is it Max?" asked Jirachi

"That Fire Punch look weak" answered Max

"Let keep on going!" cheered Iris," Druddigon use Focus Blast!" Druddigon puts its hands together and forms a light blue ball of energy. It then fires it at Stoutland which it hit causing smoke to appear.

"Yes, nice one! Druddigon!" Iris snap her finger as Axew did a little dance," Axew!"

"Drud!" nodded the Cave Pokemon. But as the smoke clear everyone see Stoutland is alright," Sto!" making everyone shock.

"But...Focus Blast is a Fighting-type move, it should do a lot damage on a Normal-type like Stoutland" confuse Iris

"You thinking what I'm thinking, Max?" asked Gladion

"Yeah, it Stoutland's Intimidate!" nodded Max

"Intimidate, what that?" Shannon look at Max," Every Pokemon have a different kind of special ability" Max pushes his glass up," For Stoutland is Intimidate which lower your opponent's Pokemon attack"

"No way!" Shannon look at the field," That explain why Druddigon's move are so weak!"

"It always explains why Lenora use her Stoutland first" Shannon look at Gladion," Every trainer know that Dragon-type Pokemon are the strongest type out of all 18-type because of their amazing power. Lenora knew Iris is a Dragon-type trainer and going use a Dragon-type Pokemon with amazing attack, so Lenora form a plan to lower that attack!"

"You shouldn't use too much of your Dragon-type's powerful attack, they are powerful but they have weakness too" warned Lenora," Like this one! Stoutland use Ice Fang!" Stoutland run toward Druddigon with its mouth release small frozen breath.

"Ice Fang! That is an Ice-Move!" worried Iris," Quick Druddigon use Fire Punch!" Druddigon make fist that is on fire.

Lenora," Now jump!" Druddigon deliver a punch, but it hit the ground," Dru!?" It looks up and see Stoutland over it and bite Druddigon's left arm causing it to be frozen." Druuuuu!"

"Druddigon!" shouted in worry Iris

"Axew!"

Stoutland let go of Druddigon who is on its knee and look at its frozen left arm which made the Normal-type Gym Leader smile," Now finish it off by using Hyper Beam!" Stoutland fire an orange beam from its mouth at Druddigon causing it to fall down with two black swirls on its eyes," Dru..."

"Druddigon!" shocked Iris

"Druddigon is unable to battle! The winner is Lenora and her Stoutland!"

"Good job, Stoutland!" smiled Lenora

"Stoutland!"

"Druddigon return!" Iris look at her Pokeball, give it a sad smile," You earn a good rest" She put the Pokeball away.

"Iris just the first battle!" warned Shannon," One more and she will lose the gym match!"

Archen look at Iris," Arch..."

Iris look at her Walking Pokemon," It up to you now, Axew..."

"Axew!" nodded the Tusk Pokemon as Iris look on the field and pointed," Alright I choose you...Ax..." Sudden the Archen fly out of Shannon's lap and head to Iris's side of the field," Arc!" which surprise everyone

Iris," EHHHHHHHHHH!? ARCHEN!?"

"Arch!" smiled the First Bird Pokemon as Iris walk toward it," What are you doing?"

"Arch!" Hawes run toward the field to grab it," Hey, you can't interrupt a battle" Archen fly causing Hawes to fail to grab it and fly around Iris," Arch!"

"Eh?" confuse the next Dragon Master

"I think Archen want Iris to use it for the battle" inform Max

"Yeah" agreed Jirachi

"It must enjoy the battle it saw and want to battle as well" explain Gladion

"I see, but sorry you can't because you are not one of Iris's Pokemon" remind Hawes as Archen shake its head," Arch!"

"Come on, be reasonable" begged Hawes

"It okay let it" Hawes look at his wife," But Lenora..."

"If it wants to battle let it battle, but it wants Iris to battle with it" smiled Lenora," What you said Iris!? It up to you!"

Iris look at the First Bird Pokemon who fly near her," You want me to battle with you?"

Archen nod happy," Archen!" which made Iris smile," Okay, let do it!" which made her friends shock," EEEHHHH!"

"Oy! Iris, are you sure about this!?" asked Max nervously

"I'm sure" nodded Iris," Shannon take care of my Axew and let me use your Pokedex!"

"O-Okay" Shannon run toward her friend

"Using a Pokemon she didn't catch for a Gym Battle" Gladion put his hand on his face," What a reckless girl!"

Max have an anime sweat drop on his face," Remind me of a certain guy a known would do that as well..."

"Me too, a guy I know will do the something also" sighed Gladion as they both don't know, both of them thinking of a same guy with a Pikachu in their mind.

Iris look at Shannon's Pokedex," Oh Archen is a boy and these are his move..." Shannon get Axew and her Pokedex back to the bench.

"Ready Iris?" asked Lenora

"Me and Archen are ready!" shouted Iris

Lenora smile and nod at her judge which nod back," O-okay, this next battle will eb Lenora's Stoutland and Uh...um...Iris' Archen who is still a...wild Pokemon?...Uh begin the battle!"

Lenora," Stoutland use Ice Fang!" Stoutland charge at Archen," Fly Archen! And use Double Team!" Archen fly toward the Big Hearted Pokemon with copies of himself which surprise Stoutland," Stou?" it stops and look around," Stou?" One of the Archen hit Stoutland with its wing and another one uses its beak to pick Stoutland's head many times which made it mad with a red taunt. Stoutland try to bite one of them, but it was a fake causing Archen to attack it once more.

"Good job, Archen!" smiled Iris," Now use Wing Attack!" All of the Archens' wings glow white. They all hit Stoutland," Stouuuuuu!"

"Stoutland calm down!" mad Lenora as Stoutland look at its trainer and nod in sorry," Stou..."

"One of them is the real one, Stoutland use Hyper Beam!" shouted Lenora as Soutland release an orange beam from its mouth at many of the Archens. It manages to get all of them, but the real one is not among them," What!? Where is the real one!?"

"He up there!" Iris pointed up where Lenora and her Pokemon see the real Archen near the ceiling," Rock Throw!" Archen summon bunch of white orbs that turn into rocks and throw them at Stoutland which causing it to be fainted," Stou..."

"Stoutland is unable to battle! The winner is Archen!"

Iris give a thumb-up," Well done! Archen!"

"Arch!" smiled Archen

"Did she just defeat Lenora's Stoutland with a Pokemon she just meant?" shocked Gladion

"I see stranger thing than this" inform Max

"Yeah" nodded in agreement Jirachi

"At least Iris beat Stoutland, next match is a tie breaker!" remind Shannon

Leoroa just return her Stoutland back to its Pokeball," I knew it, that Archen work better with you"

"What you mean?" confuse Iris

"The moment I see you two, I knew you two are the perfect match together" Lenora point at Iris," Win or lose this battle, you can keep that Archen"

"I can!?" smiled Iris," What you think Archen want to go with me?"

"Arch!" nodded Archen

"Okay, I catch you in a Pokeball later after we win this Gym Battle" inform Iris

Lenora pop a Pokeball," Just you finally defeat one of my Pokemon, doesn't mean the next one is easy," She throw it," Go! Watchog!"

"Waaa!"

"Lenora's Watchog!" warned Iris as Shannon check her Pokedex.

[Watchog the Lookout Pokemon and the evolved form of Patrat: Normal-type: They make the patterns on their bodies shine in order to threaten predators. Keen eyesight lets them see in the dark.]

"Begin the battle!"

Lenora," Watchog use Confuse Ray!" as the Lookout Pokemon use the attack. Iris order a command," Double Team! Archen!" Archen make copy of itself that surrounded Watchog which made Lenora smile," You can't fool my Watchog that easy!" Watchog look around until it looks at a certain Archen which Watchog holds its arms out and five golden orbs of light appear and circle around its body. When it raises it arms in the air, the five orbs fire at that certain causing all the Archens disappear and make the real one confuses.

"No! Archen!" worried Iris

"How did Watchog found the real Archen!?" confuse Shannon

"Ax?"
"Poo?"

"They don't call Watchog the Lookout Pokemon for nothing!" remind Gladion

"He right, those Pokemon can look through anything where other Pokemon can't see" agreed Max

"Thanks to that, Archen is in real trouble!" added Jirachi

The confuse Archen land on the ground and keep wobbling," Arch...Arch..."

"Aw man, snap out of it Archen!" shouted Iris

"You can keep yelling, but Archen will still be confuse!" warned Lenora," Watchog use Low Kick!" Watchog quickly run toward Archen to kick him causing the First Bird Pokemon to hit the ground hard. It got back up, but it is still confused," Come on, Archen you have to snap out of it!"

Lenora," Use Low Kick again!" Watchog deliver another kick at Archen

"This is bad!" warned Shannon

"You think!" replied Gladion

"If Watchog keep attacking Archen, then this battle is good as done!" warned Max as Watchog do another Low Kick on Archen which made Iris worry," Archen!"

Archen still in confuse manage to get up again.

"Now let finish this battle! Watchog! Once more Low Kick!" ordered Lenora as Watchog run toward Archen," Quick Archen dodge this attack and use Wing Attack!" Still in a confuse states, his wing glow wing.

"That won't work!" smiled Lenora

In slow motion everyone see Watchog deliver another kick, but the Archen who wobble on the right causing Watchog to miss the attack," Wat!?"

"What!? shocked Lenora as Archen use his wing to hit Watchog sending it fly through the air.

"Archen manage land hit!" cheered Max

Archen suddenly shake his head," Arch?"

"And look Archen is out of the confusion" inform Gladion

"Axew!"
"Poooo!"

"Now it time for our payback! Archen use Rock Throw!" shouted Iris as Archen summon bunch of white orbs that turn into rocks and throw them at mid-air Watchog.

"Watchog!" worried the Normal-type Gym Leader as she see her Watchog fell on the ground hard with two black swirls on its eyes.

"Watchog is unable to battle! Since that was Gym Leader, Lenora's last Pokemon! The winner of the gym match is Iris and her...uh...Archen!"

Iris quickly run to grab Archen a hug and lift it in the air," Thank you Archen! With this I earn my second Gym Badge!"

"Arch!"

(Outside: Evening)

Everyone is outside where Lenora hand Iris the badge," Your fighting style with your Pokemon have earn you this Basic Badge, Iris!"

The next Dragon Master look at the badge, then strike a pose," Not only I got a Basic Badge! I have a new friend who help me earn this badge, I got Archen!" Archen is on Iris shoulder," Archen!"

"Axew!" The Tusk Pokemon and the Ultra Beast join as well," Poi!"

"That make two..." inform Shannon

"But you still have a long way to go" remind Gladion," To catch up with me and Max"

"Don't worry I will get there" inform Iris

"Hey, we going to see you guys later" inform Max

"You not going with us since we are going to next close gym in Castelia City" remind Gladion

"It okay, I go once I finish study the Archens in the musem" explain Max

"Alright, see you later Max!" Iris and her group leave and wave good-bye to everyone.

"Good luck, Iris on your next Gym Battle!" cheered Lenora

"We will see you later!" wave Jirachi

"Yeah!" nodded Max

"And take care of that Archen!" shouted Hawes

Archen is flying next to Iris," I will!"
