It's the day Ran checkout from the hospital, Conan is now at Shinichi's room with one police detective that's in charge to look after Shinichi is inside the room. It seems Conan have a hard time to not by his brother side but he knows that Shinichi would not like the idea of Conan don't have better nutrition and didn't solve the case properly after all.
"Niichan… I have to protect Ran-neechan and find the culprit that did this to you. When I comeback, please wake up okay" said Conan while holding Shinichi's hand
Suddenly someone open the door which to be Kogoro want to tell him to get going. Kogoro stop his mouth to let out words and look on how Conan holding his big brother's hand in very worried look, he go next to the Coma high schooler and look at his face
"He will wake up, don't worry" said Kogoro in low voice comforting the grade schooler
"Ojiisan…"
"Hurry up, everyone is waiting"
With that Conan nod and then goes outside to meet Eri and Ran so that they can go home
Time Skip~
At Mouri Detective Agency
Kogoro shows Ran around the office and the second floor with his room and her room. Ran goes into the room and found picture of her and Shinichi at Tropical Land together
"That's Kudou Shinichi, he's jerk who try to seduce you" said Kogoro while turning the picture down
Conan who hears it kick his leg to which Kogoro hold the pain and glare at the grade schooler. Ran found her Karate clothes and take it
"Ah Ran-neechan, you do Karate too!" said Conan
"I know Karate?" said Ran surprised
"You even won the city high school championship! You don't remember?" said Eri
"No…"
Three of them mood fell hearing Ran but Ran convince them that she will remember eventually which make the mood cheer up a little
"Well then to celebrate Ran getting out the hospital, let's have something good to eat tonight!" said Kogoro happily
"In that case, maybe I will cook something up for old times sake!" said Eri
Conan and Kogoro who hears it became pale and shock like the whole universe fell to them. Eri was surprised by their reaction and question them. Kogoro was too shock and stammer his words. As he said his words which gives Conan a tiny chance to run away
"T-Then! I don't need any, I'm not hungry after-"
Before Conan finish his words, Eri goes to him and bend down to his size
"What are you saying Conan-kun, you haven't eat since yesterday. Don't worry, I will make you some scrumptious, yummy beef stew for you!" said Eri happily
"That's the worst of all…" thought Conan look shock
Kogoro use the chance to go away but got caught by Eri
"Where are you going dear?" asked Eri
"Ahh I just remember that I have mahjong promise-"
"Your daughter is in this state and you still think about mahjong! Oh so you don't want to eat my food?"
Conan and Kogoro just pale but it washes away when they heard giggle from Ran who find the situation funny. All of them can't help to also laugh with her, Conan also feel glad that Ran seems to be better
At night
Conan just go out from the bathroom and he sees a light coming toward Ran's room. He peek inside and to his surprised to see Ran seems to be sad and confused while sitting on her chair. He battle himself either think nothing happen or comfort her, after moments of thinking he finally got his answer
"Okay here we go…" thought Conan while taking his breath
Conan open Ran's door and of course not surprised that Ran didn't notice him
"Ran-neechan?"
Ran shot up surprised looking at Conan but then give a smile to him. A very small smile
"Ah Conan-kun… sorry I didn't notice you" said Ran
"Do you want to talk Ran-neechan?"
"No, there's nothing to worry about"
Conan didn't take it as the answer so he close the door and go toward Ran. He held Ran's hand and look at her in soft smile
"Ran-neechan, I know everything seems confusing for you. The fact that you don't remember staying here ever since you're little and being around Ojiisan, Eri-Obaasan, Sonoko-neechan and many people. Am I right?"
Ran look surprised to Conan, the fact that the grade schooler just deduct everything on how she feel right now. Ran then look down again
"Um… I don't have memory with anyone, with my parents, Sonoko-san, and you Conan-kun… I just feel so helpless" said Ran while holding her head
Conan didn't like seeing Ran in pain but he just stood there and hold Ran's arm waiting for her to calm down. Ran can't help to smile by Conan's warmness and she feel so nostalgic when she hold Conan's hands. After that, Ran change her position and sit on her bed
"Conan-kun… Can you tell me everything you know about me?" said Ran looking at the grade schooler
"It will be very long Ran-neechan, I known you ever for a very long time after all" said Conan smiling and sitting on the bed beside Ran
"It's fine right hehehe"
Conan notice Ran's mood getting better with that he told her about what he knows about Ran but he tried his best not involve any memories with his brother a lot so that Ran don't remember anything of what happen at the hotel. After talking for a very long time, Ran seems to be tired and Conan slowly push her to bed
"We will continue other time Ran-neechan, you should go to bed" said Conan while tucking Ran's blanket
"Thank you Conan-kun… I don't know why but being with you is so warm and comfortable, it's like we always did this together" said Ran smiling
Ran is not wrong at all. He sometimes do this and talk together with her when he stay with Ran but the one who mostly do it is Shinichi ever since she was little but she let her think it's him since both him and Shinichi have the same vibe after all
"Hehehe get some sleep Ran-neechan, good night" said Conan to the door
"Good night Conan-kun, thank you" said Ran
Conan left her room and goes to Kogoro's room and tucked in his bed. Conan then put his hands on his head and look to the ceiling serious
"The nostalgic feeling that she feels is actually from Shinichi-niichan… am I doing the right thing, Niichan" said Conan in sad look before going to bed
The next day
Conan wake up early and see that Eri is cooking for breakfast secretly without anyone notice, he became pale and hurriedly goes to her to help her cooking. Well actually he have bigger plans on his head so that everyone in the house will not have stomachache. Kogoro come out from his room and he was shock when he see Eri putting some food on the table and she's wearing an apron
"Let's dig in!" said Eri smiling
"Oi oi…" said Kogoro pale before even touching the food
Ran didn't think much and just eat, Kogoro tried to stop her but the reaction afterward surprised him
"It's delicious!" said Ran happily
"Eh really?" asked Kogoro who quickly eats it and too much of his surprised that Eri's food is delicious
"Conan-kun help me cooking" said Eri while looking at Conan smiling
"I see, this kid must have arrange the seasoning without her noticing" thought Kogoro
"Conan-kun can cook?" asked Ran surprised
"Aah… my mom taught me how to cook" said Conan smiling
Eri then goes to the kitchen to get some water and Kogoro quickly goes to the grade schooler
"Thank you for saving my tongue. For once, I'm glad that Yuki-chan teaches you cooking" said Kogoro in low voice
"I'm also saving Ran-neechan's tongue… Make sure don't let her know about this and next time if Ojiisan see her cooking, remember to at least secretly put salt or sugar!" said Conan back to Kogoro
"Roger!"
Ran who sees the interaction can't help to giggle, Conan already told him that her mother is bad at cooking last night but to think it's that bad which make them taking so much resort
In the afternoon
Detective boys, Ran and Sonoko at the detective agency office. Ran is looking at the pictures album that Sonoko bought with her. They are now looking at Ran's karate pictures and of course high school pictures. Ran stop at a certain picture, with Sonoko and Shinichi inside it
"He is…"
"Ah that's Shinichi-kun, you're husband" said Sonoko happily
"Oi oi…" thought Conan laughing
Ran just focus on Shinichi's picture which surprised Conan and Haibara
"Ran-neechan? You remember him?" asked Conan worried
"No… but I just feel very nostalgic for some reason" said Ran with a sad smile
Conan, Haibara and Sonoko were surprised by Ran's words since they are the people who know what really happen to the detective and how close is Ran to Shinichi.
"Should you be remember if Shinichi-oniisan is here?" asked Ayumi
"Yeah! He should be here if Ran-san condition is like that" said Mitsuhiko angrily
"Call him call him!" shout Genta
"Can't be helped… if he serious on his case he will not take phone" said Sonoko trying to cover up
Conan on the other hand looking outside from the window with sad look remembering his brother who still in the hospital
Time Skip~
The next day
Conan, Ran and Eri are now at the train platform, they're thinking having a shopping time at Ginza to relax their mind. As the train arrives suddenly someone shove Ran to the rail.
"Ran!" shout Eri and Conan
Conan hurriedly jump and use all of his strength to pull Ran to under the platform so they didn't get hit by the train. Fortunately they manage to get under it in time so both Conan and Ran are okay. As the train stops, Conan try to calm his fast breathing since they just get out from danger. Ran look at Conan surprised and worried since he just jump to save her life
"Are you okay Ran-neechan?!" asked Conan to Ran hurriedly
"Um… thank you Conan-kun…" said Ran in low voice
After that Ran was taken to the hospital for further check up, in the hospital. Inspector Megure then confirm that the culprit really is targeting Ran for being the witness of the Sato's shooting. Conan resolve to find out the culprit before the culprit get into Ran
"Conan-kun… are you alright?" asked Eri worried
"Um… it's alright, it's just some scratches" said Conan showing his bandage knee
"Thank you for saving Ran's life… if you hadn't jump there…"
"It's fine Eri-Obaasan…"
Kogoro who have been looking at the grade schooler again earn a respect for the brat but he keep it for himself
Time Skip~
Conan already went out to find some clues for the case. Ran who woke up are now at the rooftop viewing with Sonoko and guard by Chiba
"Thank goodness it was nothing serious" said Sonoko worried to her friend
"Yes… ah Sonoko-san-"
"Sonoko is fine!"
"What kind of boy Conan-kun is?" asked Ran who's scared and worried
"Eh? why do you ask?"
"He risked his life to save me just now…"
"Well he is indeed very witty for a brat but to me he's just a ordinary grade schooler"
"I see… eh"
Ran look at the TV showing Tropical Land and her face seems recognize the place
"Tropical Land… Oh, you were there once with the brat in glasses and Shinichi-kun!" said Sonoko
Ran, Sonoko, Eri and Kogoro talk with Doctor Kazato about Ran wants to go to Tropical Land so that she can remember. Eri was hesitate but Ran was very determined to remember which Kogoro agree and he will protecting him
"Then it is confirmed that Conan-kun can't join" said Eri looking at Kogoro
"Yeah you're right" said Kogoro serious
"Eh what's wrong?" asked Ran surprised
"That boy… have a trauma in Tropical Land. He can't go inside or near Tropical Land like normal people do" said Eri with a sad look
"Eh… really?"
"Yes, I think we shouldn't tell him that we're going there" said Kogoro to the girls
"Okay" said Eri
With that they agree to go tomorrow, Ran on the other hand can't help thinking about what Eri just said. That Conan have a trauma inside Tropical Land which make her worried if she suddenly remember that
The next day
Conan already goes away with his skateboard in the morning while the others are going to the Tropical Land. The Detective Boys who have been watching the agency since morning are also joining them
At Tropical Land
Kogoro, Ran, Sonoko, Professor Agasa and Detective boys are now inside and looking at the castle
"I remember this place…" said Ran softly
"Ahh… actually this is the place when we split up from the brat and his father" said Kogoro
"Eh? why split up?" asked Ayumi surprised hearing it
"That time… the brat and detective brat got into a fight. So the rest of the day, you were playing with detective brat only"
Ran hears it was surprised, so that's why he feel nostalgic with Shinichi only when he see this place. Because she wasn't with Conan in the whole trip
"If I remember, you two also playing the rollercoaster" said Kogoro remembering
"Then we should go there Ran!" said Sonoko
"Ah um…" said Ran
Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro and Takagi then play with the rollercoaster while Detective boys are guarding the place. After playing, Ran start to get some flashbacks with Shinichi when they are here before but still can't grasp anything. Sonoko excuse herself to get some drinks leaving Ran with Kogoro, Professor Agasa, Haibara and Takagi
"Um… dad, can you tell me more about what happen between Kudou Shinichi and Conan-kun here?" asked Ran on the bench
"Eh? why suddenly?"
"I'm curious… what makes Conan-kun have trauma here yet the one I can feel right now seems happy moments"
"Aahh… well you and I didn't see it when it happened, we arrive after the events. From what I heard from Inspector Megure, that time Conan was being hostage by a criminal and Shinichi save him but he got hurt in the end for protecting him. Conan blame himself for it and he didn't stop crying and didn't want to let Shinichi go, the medic team force to sedate him to calm him down" said Kogoro
Suddenly Haibara kick his feet which surprised Kogoro, Haibara quickly pull him closer to her face and whisper him
"Are you stupid! Edogawa-kun situation that time is similar to Ran-san!" whisper Haibara
"Eh ah…"
Ran was quiet after hearing what Kogoro just told her. She can't help thinking of how hurt Conan have been and still haunted by those feelings
"Conan-kun must have been very hurt for remembering that…" thought Ran sad
Suddenly a cola can touch to her cheek and to his surprised he get another Shinichi flashback giving her the can but it turns out just Sonoko. Ran look at the cola can remembering Shinichi but seems can't remember more so she put the can on her bag
***For the continuation, it's exactly the same as the Movie so I don't need to write it down again so I'm skipping to the hospital scene where Conan gather information***
After talking with the nurses, Conan is now at Shinichi's room while looking at his big brother's phone, he was sure who's the culprit is and he tried to call Kogoro using his own phone but he seems to be not home. He then call Eri's office and her secretary said that now Eri is heading toward Tropical Land because Ran is there. Conan became worried and without thinking goes there
Little did he know that Shinichi's finger seems to be moving when he get out of the room
Time Skip~
Conan arrives to the amusement park and he was fine when he sees the sign so he assume that he will be fine, he was about to buy ticket until suddenly his panic attacks him. His memories of what happen year ago just hit him right on his head
"Just as I thought! Come on! I need to protect Ran-neechan!" thought Conan angrily while squeezing his hair
Suddenly someone pass to his mind. He look up and his imagination start to play him. It was an image of his big brother
"Conan… you can do it, FIGHT IT!" shout Shinichi inside his head
The words help Conan's breathing back to normal and now he take a big breath and go toward the ticketing. He's now inside and goes to the tower to find Ran but to his surprised that he found his friends
"Oi Genta! Ayumi! Mitsuhiko! Answer me!" shout Conan though his badge
"Ah Conan-kun! You have to know that-"
"Oi! Calm down and listen to me, the culprit is there with a gun to kill Ran-neechan!"
"WHAT?!" shout three of them
Without hearing further, three of them goes to Ran and warn her but Professor Agasa notice the gun pointed at her and he protect Ran from it. As a result, Professor Agasa was shot through his shoulder
"Professor!" shout Haibara worried
Ran was shock and felt that it's her fault that everyone near her are in danger. Silently, she run away from them so that none of them got into danger. She run as fast as she can so that anyone can't see her and she stop to take a breather. Suddenly she felt someone grab her which to be Conan
"Co… Conan-kun?!" asked Ran surprised seeing the grade schooler
"It's alright Ran-neechan, let's blend in with the crowd and get out of here" said Conan serious
Suddenly Conan feel a bullet going through beside him and the bullet shot right to a balloon. Conan quickly pull Ran away from the place. Conan didn't think anywhere but his guts make them goes inside to one of door and he see a boat there
"Jump to the boat!" shout Conan to Ran
"Eh?!"
Conan and Ran jump to the boat and Conan quickly drive it, Conan use top speed and drive it carefully
"Conan-kun! How did you know how to drive a boat?" asked Ran surprised
"I see my dad taught my brother to do it in Hawaii" said Conan smirking
Ran was surprised but Conan seems to be more focus on driving. Suddenly his head start to get hurt, his breathing became not normal and he can feel that his heartbeat are getting faster every seconds which means his trauma start to get into him again.
"Come on! Not now, please hold on for me!" thought Conan while holding his head
Ran look at Conan who holding his pain from his head, suddenly a flash of run into her mind. Conan sitting down on the bushes with bloody hands who's crying for someone in front of him
"Is that what happen to Conan-kun?" thought Ran worried
Ran shake her head and try not to think again since they are now running away from the culprit. They seems to be already far away and Ran look back to see that if the culprit is still following them and there's no sign of him
"Hey, we should be save now right?" asked Ran
"No!" said Conan looking to his right to see the culprit with the speedboat
The culprit then try to shoot them but thanks to Conan's driving skills, they manage to dodge all the bullets suddenly one of the bullet got into Ran's bag and hit the Cola can. Conan look at it and remembered when his brother told him one of things he did at Tropical Land year ago
Flashback
One year ago
"Eehh so you take Ran-neechan to the plaza water fountain?" asked Conan sitting on the chair by his side
Shinichi is still hospitalized after what happen in Tropical Land, now both of them are talking with each other about what Shinichi did with Ran after they part themselves due to their fight
"Well she won the Karate competition so might as well giving her a present" said Shinichi slight blushing
Conan just smirk to his big brother which Shinichi didn't like the face
"But how did you know that the water will comes out?"
"Ahh those fountains goes off every two hours so it have to be in precise time"
Back to present
Time Skip~
After the boat escape, Conan and Ran are now climbing toward one of the attraction. As Ran was resting suddenly a bullet about to hit her which means the culprit is close by. Conan directly ask Ran to hide behind the rocks when they get on top. Conan look at the time which have enough time so he take a breath in to calm himself and step up to a rock which make him visible
"Protect me Niichan… let my deduction right" thought Conan serious
Conan then do his deduction to which surprised the culprit, after hearing Conan call his name then he come out from hiding which he is right. The culprit is none other than Doctor Kazato
The boy did the deduction perfectly without a hitch, from the first case until the shooting at the public phone. Doctor Kazato agree to all of it except the hotel shooting, Conan look at Ran and then hesitate to tell more so he just provoked him that he can tell him the trick and proof if he's the culprit behind the hotel shooting but he said that he will keep it until he was arrested. With that both Ran and Conan jump to the slide to escape. As they arrive to the bottom, Ran about to go out from exit
"Don't go there! He would have waited for us at the exit, let's go this way!" said Conan pointing toward the tunnel
Both of them are running through the tunnel, after they go out from the tunnel, they can see that they are now across where they face to face with him. Suddenly some shots goes right near them and they hide behind a big rock. Turns out, Doctor Kazato use the boat to cross the ocean. Doctor Kazato demand explanation of the trick and proof from Conan but Conan really hesitate since Ran was beside him
"Ran-neechan… whatever you heard, don't think about it now so that we can escape him later" said Conan softly to Ran
"Conan-kun…"
Conan look at Doctor Kazato again and take a big breath before doing his deduction
"Fine then, first you black out the whole floor. You use your surgical gloves and umbrella that you already prepared before hand. You already make the hole of the umbrella before hand, after that you put the gun through it and shoot Sato-keiji… Thanks to the umbrella, the gun powder didn't get into your clothes and you passed the powder test" said Conan
"What a great theory, but there's no proof that I did that" said Kazato smirking
"There is proof. First is the umbrella itself, I already found it at the hotel and now is being examined by the polices and second, that time, you calculate that there will just only Sato-keiji and Ran inside so you are sure that you can kill both of them but you're wrong… you didn't think that there will another person inside and that person is the one who took the bullets that you plan to use to kill Ran right… Unlucky for you that the person is very smart… He voice record everything of what happen in the toilet"
"What?!"
"The sound of you open the umbrella, putting the gun through the hole, and cursing out loud is heard loud and clear on Kudou Shinichi's phone!"
Ran was surprised hearing what Conan just said to Doctor Kazato about Shinichi. Conan just reveal that inside the toilet there's not only herself and Sato but also Shinichi is there protecting her
"Hm! To think he do such thing… your deduction is correct Conan-kun… It seems I have to kill you too"
Conan and Ran look shock as Doctor Kazato said it. Conan put Ran on his back and protect him with his body
"How to get out from here?!" thought Conan in panic
