Siren was still thinking about the very interesting call she received this morning from the secretary of a Re-Destro who wanted her to perform for over ten thousand people at a sort of office party for the New Year. It was a weird request to say the least but what was really weird was that he specifically requested that she sing her newest song. It was in a different genre from what she normally put out so it was a huge risk already, but to have someone call her the next day after posting, just the song, online and ask her to perform it for that many people was crazy.
She was running on a treadmill at the gym in her apartment building as she thought about performing for so many people by herself. While performing in front of thousands of people wasn't new to her, being alone on the stage was.
She slowed to a jog as she thought about finding a local band to perform with her when her phone began to ring. The caller ID said Derick and she answered on the third ring.
"Hey, what's up?"
"All I can say is 'wow'," "Is that a good wow or a bad wow?" "Better than good," "Really? I'm still kinda nervous about what everyone is going to say." "Did you hit your head or something? How could you forget that you are Siren 'The Hitmaker'" "I didn't forget but am I supposed to expect everyone to like all my music even when I do something different?" She stopped the treadmill and stepped off. Gathering her things she left the modest workout room and made her way to the elevator.
"No, but that's people in general, your fans will still listen to your music if they're truly fans. But I'm surprised you didn't do a video with it," the elevator chimed as the doors opened to the sixth floor and she approached the door to her condo.
"I have an idea for it but I wanted to gauge peoples reaction to it first," "You never care what others think about your music…why the sudden change?" "I don't, I just don't want to waste my time if no one's going to watch it," "But that's what I mean. Why do you care if anyone see's it or not?" She unlocked the door and stepped inside her apartment. Sitting down to remove her shoes, she responded "Because the message is actually important, but if no one cares the-" A hand came from nowhere and covered Sirens mouth before she could finish talking.
"If no one cares then, what?" Siren struggled to remove the hand that was cutting off her air supply as she threw her arm back at her assailant effectively elbowing them. She dropped the phone and stood to be able to fight back before a set of arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her into a hard body.
She felt the familiar feeling of a staple as a hand went around her mouth once again and she relaxed into his hold. A heavy sigh came from behind her and the arms immediately dropped from her body. "Aw come on, I was really trying that time," she pouted looking back at Dabi as he flipped on the switch to the hallway light.
"How am I supposed to 'take advantage of you' when you keep making a joke out of it," "I wasn't even laughing this time," she muttered more to herself. Looking back down she realized the phone was still keeping time on her call with Derick.
Picking it up she responded "My bad Derick, I need to call you back" "No explanation for any of that huh?" "No, but I will call you back," she listened to the silence that practically screamed his disbelief before he sighed "Alright." She hung up the phone and looked back into the living room as Dabi was now laying on her couch, shirtless.
"Giving up already?" She asked standing and walking towards him.
He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye as he turned on her TV and flipped through the channels. "Nope, just taking a break 'til you figure out how to play your part properly."
Sirens eye twitched "Excuse me?! I know this isn't coming from the virgin who just learned everything about sex…from me." He looked at her incredulously and she continued to stare him down.
"Maybe we should just forget it," she sat in the chair across from him and his eyes followed her every move. She reached for the ashtray that sat on the small coffee table and grabbed an unlit blunt that already sat in it along with a conveniently placed lighter.
Dabi watched as she lit the cigarillo and inhaled the smoke slowly. She sat back in the chair and exhaled looking up at him as he quickly turned his face back to the TV that no one was paying attention to. Siren smirked and brought the blunt to her lips once again.
Holding the cigarillo out towards him, Dabi noticed something in his peripheral and turned. He grabbed the blunt and brought it to his lips. This time Siren watched Dabi as he smoked and a thought came to her.
"I have, a concert to perform on New Years Eve. I assume it will go past midnight so unfortunately I won't be home 'til much later that night." "Isn't that in two days?" "Yeah, it literally came out of left field. I released a new song yesterday and this morning I'm woken up by someone's secretary asking if I'm available on that day to perform for a couple thousand people."
At first he didn't say anything as his gaze wondered from hers to the TV. "Guess I won't see you that day then," he said with finality in his voice handing the blunt back to Siren.
She sighed exasperatedly and grabbed the cigarillo from his outstretched hand. Bringing it to her lips she inhaled the smoke and looked up at the ceiling before picking up her cellphone and dialing Dericks' number.
It rang a few times before she heard him answer. "That was fast," "You know I'm just good like that," "Uh huh. Well anyway those two songs you sent to Reggie are awesome, glad to see you still got it after all this time." "Thanks Derick, but those are old songs. All I did was rework them a little-" "Just take the compliment."
"Okay, okay," she stood from the chair and handed the blunt back to Dabi. "Does that mean you guys already put the rest of the vocals on the tracks?" She asked walking towards the kitchen. Going straight to the fridge she opened it to grab something to drink. "Almost. Reggie was saying that Sabine still needed to add her vocals and then he'd finish mixing it for ya," "Great. I'm hoping we can give the fans a surprise with the start of the new year." Grabbing a bottle of water she opened it and took a sip.
"You think one of them can be the first single?" "I know one of them would be a great single," "Oh! Before I forget, what are you doing for New Years?" The question caught Siren completely off guard after his earlier statement. "That depends do you mean New Years Eve or New Years Day?" "Both."
"I'll be performing on New Years Eve but so far I have no plans for New Years Day, besides working. What are your plans for New Years?" "I've been on vacation since yesterday actually, and I'll be off 'til the fifth." "Lucky you," she rolled her eyes, "You need a vacation Siren. Honestly, you work too much," "No such thing, besides I'm too busy right now anyway, a vacation would just set me back."
She heard him sigh heavily "Everyone needs a break eventually…Reggie and I where talking about coming to Japan-" "What for?" "To see what all the hype is about," she rolled her eyes once again, "And obviously we want to see you, if you're not too busy."
"That's…unexpected, but cool. Yeah if you guys are in town just let me know, we can link up when I'm free." "Cool. It was good talking to you, gotta get back to doing nothing" "Later D." Hanging up the phone she took another sip of the water in her hands and sat the device on the counter. Turning towards the TV she jumped slightly at the sight of Dabi standing just on the other side of the counter.
His hand was stretched out towards her with the still lit cigarillo. Siren shook her head 'no' and responded "I'm good on that. You can keep smoking or put it out," "Who was that?" "Hm?" "On the phone?" "Oh, that was just Derick. He's part of the group."
Dabi starred at her for a minute as he brought the blunt to his lips and inhaled the smoke. Siren looked him in the eye and continued to wait for his response. "Is this group nothing but guys?" "No, it's me and one other girl, Sabine," "The girl from the pussy song?"
Siren spit out the water that was in her mouth in the most unlady-like fashion and busted out laughing. Hearing him call it 'the pussy song' was just too funny. Once she calmed her breathing Siren said "Yes the girl from the pussy song." Looking at his face she almost laughed again at his disbelief. She picked up her phone and immediately went to her pictures. Scrolling through she found the one she was looking for and turned the phone around so Dabi could see it.
It was an old picture of five young teens. He immediately recognized Siren with her light purple eyes and tan skin just with shorter white hair cut in a dramatic bob that actually looked really good on her. She wore a black tank top that showed off her midriff and a pair of overly baggie mens jeans that fell low on her hips showing off the name brand boxers she wore underneath. Next to her stood two guys one was tall, tan skinned wearing a blue polo with some denim shorts and a hat. The other guy was also tall but with paler skin, styled blonde hair and green eyes. He wore a pair of skin tight jeans and a very busy print shirt.
Next to them was a young Sabine with pink hair, blue eyes and skin even darker than Sirens'. She was wearing a white leather corset top with a pink tutu and fishnet stockings. Lastly was another pale skinned guy who had spiky lime green hair wearing an oversized name brand hoodie and some matching sweatpants. "That's Derick, Me, Reggie, Sabine and AJ. We are definitely one of the oddest groups out there. All of our styles are different and yet we can come together and harmonize on any beat like it was made for us."
"So, what? You're going back to your group and giving up on going solo?" "Of course not. I'm going to do both, it won't be easy but at least my album and the one for the group is for the most part done. We just have to push our social media presence and start marketing the album and the reunion tour. And at the same time I have to do all that for myself and start doing more interviews…and finish coming up with the music video concepts for my album…I haven't even thought about possibly going on tour alone-"
She was cut off by Dabi grabbing her chin and turning her face towards his that was now much closer than it was a minute ago. "I think you're ready now," he whispered a hairs breath away from her lips causing a shudder to go down her spine. Smiling she reached up with her right hand and caressed his scarred cheek "I was wrong before. It seems you can distract me from everything Dabi," she whispered lips so close to his that they almost touched. Her eyes stayed on those lips of his and a Cheshire grin spread across his features.
Dabi walked into the office building that was the Paranormal Liberation Fronts main base. He walked through the lobby and took the elevator up to the top floor. Stepping off the lift he walked in the direction of the conference room. There were no meetings scheduled for today but Dabi had his own reasons for being there.
He continued down the hall and opened a door to his left. Entering the room he saw a wall covered in computer screens and a man hunched over a single keyboard typing furiously. A few of the screens displayed the different rooms and floors of the building they where currently occupying and the rest covered the surrounding city.
"Something I can help you with?" Came the voice of Skeptic as he continued to keep his eyes glued to the screens in front of him.
"Just came to check in on the hero," "Ah, he's on his way here. You know, for the party." "I thought that was a joke?" "When Re-Destro says something he means it one hundred percent."
Dabi looked back at the screens and found the one in the auditorium sure enough, even with the tiny image, he could see decorations around the room and instruments on the stage. "I'm not staying for that. Parties have never been my thing," "Same, but I plan to be here for awhile and watching everyone get drunk and make fools of themselves will be quite entertaining." Sitting down next to the long haired man Dabi made himself comfortable and put his feet up on the table. "Guess I can watch it from here too."
Sirens' cab pulled in front of an office building and she checked her phone once again to make sure it was the correct address. This was the place. She stepped out of the vehicle and the driver held out the handle to her suitcase. "Thank you," she said handing him a cash tip.
Once inside the lobby she was immediately greeted by a tall mall in a business suit with a very pointy nose and slicked back hair. "Welcome, welcome. Siren in the flesh, you have no idea what a pleasure it is to meet you in person," he stepped towards her and bowed slightly with a hand stretched out to her. She placed her hand in his and was taken aback when he dipped lower and kissed the back of her wrist.
"Oh wow, what a gentleman you are. I take it you're Re-Destro?" "You are correct. And might I say you are even more lovely in person," "You flatter me too much already." He held out his arm and she slipped her hand onto the crock of his elbow so as not to fully link arms with this man. She had looked into him and was surprised that an underground villain had asked her to perform for probably his underlings. If she'd done her research before agreeing to anything she would have made the smart move and turned it down despite the fact that he was paying her.
He led her through a hallway and to an elevator that took them down a few floors before opening to a huge auditorium. It was still being decorated for the festivities but the stage was the only thing Siren was focused on. She let go of Re-Destros' arm and walked the long distance from the door to the stage.
Once her foot hit the bottom step she felt herself relax as she counted how many steps there were so she could become familiar with the space. A mic, keyboard, turntables, drum set, guitar and bass guitar where already set up as if a whole band was coming.
"I wasn't sure what you needed, I can have everything removed if-" "No, leave it. I got some people who are going to join me and these will come in handy." He nodded his head and gestured to a younger gentleman the appeared next to him. "My associate will show you to your dressing room. I have some things to take care of before the party but you'll go on around eleven," "Sounds good."
Alone in her 'Dressing Room', which was just an oversized office that they put a huge mirror in with two couches and a desk with a computer chair, Siren prepared herself for the lecture that was undoubtedly about to fly out of Reggies mouth the moment he stepped through the door. Reggie, Derick and AJ where in Japan and Siren told them about the performance so they decided to join her on stage so she wouldn't have to do it alone or with people she wasn't familiar with.
But the fact that these where villains that they where about to perform for was going to be jarring for the trio to say the least. While the music they played wasn't exactly pop music they also didn't go around performing for only hero or villains, but especially villains. Siren was really pushing the boundaries by doing this, but like a friend once asked her 'Why do you care what other people think?'
That's right, Siren never cared what people thought about her lyrics or her music in general until recently. Putting more of herself in her songs and being vulnerable with a public that she wasn't sure would truly accept her. That's what was causing her to stall. She could care less who or what that person identifies as, all Siren wants is to be accepted wholeheartedly.
She looked herself over in the mirror and turned slightly to make sure her ass looked good in the jeans she was wearing. They where black and high waisted with a sailor button detail on both sides of her abdomen and disappeared into a pair of black Timberland boots. Her top was an oversized white sweater crop top that hung off her left shoulder and showed off a bit of her white lace bodysuit underneath. Her makeup was light with a dramatic smoky eye that made her eyes pop and her hair was pulled up into a messy bun.
The sound of people talking hit her ears and there was a knock on the door. "Come in."
"Sorry to bother you Miss Siren, but these men say they are with you," "Damnit will you just move and let us in?" "Yes they are with me," she answered and he stepped to the side as AJ came through the door first. "Yo seriously?" His question aimed at the secretary who was just doing his job. Derick and Reggie stepped into the room with their own looks of disbelief.
Once the door closed Reggie was the first to speak "Siren, what the fuck are we doing here?" "Did you see those people?"
"I've only seen a few, but I know what you're thinking and I'm already past that." "So you're okay with doing a concert for villains-" "Not just villains a villain organization that is probably being watched by the cops and heroes. Come on Siren even you have to see that this is a bad idea-" "No. I'm done running. I don't care who the audience is I just want to make them happy with my music…Honestly you don't get to see the face of the person who buys the CD but most of them are going to be people who look like them-" "Yes but no one else is out there performing for a room full of them-" "Not unless their one of them-" "You guys are missing the point…If you don't want to join me on stage then I understand."
"I won't let you go out there alone. Besides you need my help with the music anyway," "And we'll be right there on the sideline in case shit hits the fan" said AJ gesturing to himself and Derick. Derick elbows AJ and corrects his earlier statement "We'll be right there next you."
"See this is why I love you guys. Who needs family when I got friends like you…What time is it?" "Ten forty-five," A knock came from the door. "We're ready for you Siren," came the voice of the secretary behind the door.
Dabi watched the party progress as Skeptic finally ceased his typing and sat back in his chair. He watched the same screens as Dabi as Re-Destro stepped onto the stage. He began talking and Skeptic sat forward and pressed a button letting the sound of his voice be heard in the room.
"Now without further ado, I present Siren!" The crowd erupted in applause and Dabi tried not to flinch at the introduction as he watched her walk out onto the stage with three men. Everyone took their place and Siren stepped up to the mic.
"Thank you," she paused waiting for the noise to quiet down. Siren could feel the butterflies doing somersaults in her stomach but she turned her head to the left and saw Reggie connecting the keyboard and turntables together along with his computer. She smiled and turned back to the crowd.
"I've done a lot of running in my lifetime. I ran away from the people who hurt me, I ran from the people who loved me, I ran away from music and I tried my hardest to run away from myself…And I know that I'm too young to say this, but I'm tired. All that running has taken so much time out of my life so I've decided that I'm going to live my life the way I want to! Everyone has their own version of what they think life should be like, and that's fine, you know why? Because it's emyour/em life. Make of it what you want, there are endless possibilities…I know I sound crazy to the majority of you but honestly I'm just a kid at heart with childish dreams. This is a concert and we are about to enter a New Year, so let's set it off right!" The crowd cheered once again and Siren turned her head towards the only other person on the stage. "You ready Reggie?" Instead of answering he scratched a record on the turntables and Siren just nodded her head knowing the beat was going to drop in three, two, one.
Dabis' eyes where glued to the woman on the screen. Even in a room full of villains she was mesmerizing and kept her composure. She was a couple songs in and Dabi was ready to leave. He stood from his seat and walked towards the door, "Going to get a better look?" Asked Skeptic as he peaked through his long black bangs. Dabi just ignored him as he waved his hand in a dismissive manner and kept walking.
The music could be heard as he went down in the elevator and got louder as the doors opened to the auditorium where the party was taking place. Stepping onto the wood floor he looked around at all the other people he worked with but would never bother to learn their names.
Everyone was dancing and talking but his eyes where on the stage as Siren removed her sweater revealing the top half of a white lace bodysuit and pulling her hair from the bun it was in to fall around her frame. He starred as she began to sing.
"Fiend, for that thing when you let me in between
101 with my hands inside your jeans
Feeling numb, xannies got me half asleep
In my head, I've been lost inside a dream
And I know you're only here for the ride, baby
But you know I'm always on demon time, baby
And you'll never get me out of your mind, baby, till I die, baby
It's fine shawty
Never tripping, they said legends don't die shawty
If it ain't you then I got someone in mind for me
I just need someone that's always gon' ride for me
So just lie to me
Run
On the run, only want you for some fun
This Ain't love, I just say that when I'm drunk
You ain't mine, she can have you when I'm done
To the next, don't belong to anyone
And I know you're only here for the ride, baby
But you know I'm always on demon time, baby
And you'll never get me out of your mind, baby, till I die, baby"
"Why didn't you tell us your girlfriend was coming to the party?" Came a too familiar voice from behind him. "I must admit even I'm surprised at her sudden introduction," "Is she joining the Liberation?"
"Why do you guys insist on pestering me?" Glancing over his shoulder he saw Toga, Twice and Compress. "Well if you'd just introduce us we could ask her ourselves-" "How about you just introduce yourselves and leave me out of it," "Your really grouchy today, cheer up it's a party!"
"Can't you tell what's going on Toga? Poor Dabi here is in love-" "What?!" "Mhm, yep he's got it bad, look at the way he's watching her-" "I can still hear you."
The stage went dark and a small girl appeared in a tattered grey dress. It was Siren as a little girl and she looked dazed as she starred at the audience. A shadow figure emerged behind the young girl and placed a collar on her neck. She struggled and screamed as the collar was locked in place and her scream was cut off by a powerful electric current going through her body. Siren stepped out of the shadows:
"Can't get my feet off the ground
It's harder to fight now
Things are different than before
Can't find myself anymore
I'm in a dark place lately
Why do I feel so crazy?"
The scene changed slightly to show a young Siren still with the collar on standing before other kids dressed also in grey clothes and shock collars. With a katana in her hands she was poised to strike as the other kids charged at her and she attacked without a second thought.
"It's almost like I'm sinking deeper, deeper
It's like I keep trying to be hurt, be hurt
You're always in my head
Reminding me of what can come next"
With the other children dead at her feet the daze in her eyes faded and she was immediately faced with the reality of what she'd done. Screaming her frustration also caused her body to convulse and fall to her knees. The shadow figure from before was beside her once again this time revealing a black business suit but still keeping his face hidden. The suit knelt down to her level and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Lately I don't feel so bright
I just wanna run away and go hide
But you are always right by my side
Telling me to go left when I should go right
I feel like my hands are tied so tight
I feel like I'm going to lose my mind
But I can no longer justify, my actions
'Cause you're gonna bring me down"
The young Siren was shown in a cell by herself, fighting more kids and adults, being yelled at and slapped around by the suit and her trying to run away only to brought back and tortured.
"Why won't you let me go?
I wish I could tell you no
No matter what I do
I'm standing next to you
I forgot how it feels to be free
How could you do this to me?"
The young Siren continued to fight whoever the target was with no resistance or personal opinion on the matter. She was a top assassin but was kept under constant control and surveillance. That is until the night the power went out. There was a backup generator so the building would only go five minutes without power. The collars still worked so no one thought to put extra security measures in places. The mind control was also not necessary when young Siren wasn't performing an actual mission.
In those five minutes that the power was out Siren was able to leave her room and make it to the floor two levels above hers, to the room where the keys for the collars where located. Once her collar was off young Siren cracked her neck and began to sing.
"Memories consume
Like opening the wound
I'm picking me apart again
You all assume
I'm safe here in my room
Unless I try to start again"
They where immediately alerted to her absence and found her still on the same floor. Young Siren fought them off.
"I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
I know it's not alright
So, I'm breaking the habit tonight"
At some point the building had caught fire and young Siren was facing off against the suit, who's face still wasn't visible. She was bleeding from her mouth but she continued to sing and her eyes began to glow a purple color the same as her iris. A katana appeared in her hand and the suit didn't seem threatened by it. She continued to sing as if they where having a regular conversation and even though she should've been collapsing to the ground her eyes seemed to glow brighter and she ran at him and swung her sword with full force.
"I'll paint it on the walls
'Cause I'm the one at fault
I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends"
Blood covered her body and the rest of the building burned to the ground. Young Siren sat and watched as the place she called home and hell disappeared.
A young Siren walked the streets of Los Angeles looking lost and unsure what to do. She was a mess as she came upon a group of teens dancing to hip-hop music. Siren hadn't heard much of the genre before but what she heard right then was enough to make her start bobbing her head. That's when Sean first noticed her.
"When this began
I had noting to say
And I get lost in the nothingness inside of me
(I was confused)
And I let it all out to find
That I'm not the only person with these things in mind
But all that they can see the words revealed
It's the only real thing that I've got left to feel
(Nothing to lose)
Just stuck, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own
I wanna heal, I wanna feel what I thought was never real
I wanna let go of the pain I've felt so long
(Erase all the pain 'till it's gone)
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I'm close to something real
I wanna find something I wanted all along
Somewhere I belong"
A slightly older, but still pre-teen Siren was seen forming new bonds with artists and producers. She was also seen being introduced to the other members of the group Nowhere Kids. The scene changed again as they performed live for the first time and the point of view changed to show a nervous Siren before she joined the group on stage.
"And I've got nothing to say
I can't believe I didn't fall right down on my face
(I was confused)
Looking everywhere only to find
That it's not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
What do I have but negativity
'Cause I can't justify the way, everyone is looking at me
(Nothing to lose)
Nothing to gain, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own"
The room changed to a dark apartment with a teenage Siren standing in the middle of the floor and flashes of a struggle could be seen between herself and someone else. Teenage Siren had tears pouring down her face as she turned away from the audience and ran disappearing from view.
"I will never know myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel anything else, until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything 'till I break away from me
I will break away, I'll find myself today
I wanna heal" Siren was in front of the mic stand holding it with both hands as she belted out the final chorus from the song.
Before the music faded from the sound system the entire room was cheering and screaming for Siren. Looking out at the crowd she felt that familiar rush of adrenaline and the smile on her face was genuine as she took a bow. She'd taken a big risk and it paid off.
She was quickly joined by Re-Destro not leaving her much time to bask in the afterglow. "Wasn't that amazing! This girl is truly a talent in and of itself. Let's give her another round of applause!"
"Alright now, it's almost midnight and if you don't mind, would you join me for the countdown Siren?" "Of course."
Siren was finally off the stage and her heart was beating so fast she thought she was going to pass out. Reggie noticed her silence and held a hand out to stop her from walking further. "You can breath now," he said turning to look at her in the face. Siren exhaled the breath she didn't realize she was holding "Can't believe I still do that," "After what I just saw it makes sense no-" "Not right now Reggie. I want to talk to all of you at once. You guys are the closest thing I have to a family so-" "I get it, and I'll wait," "Thank you." Her heart beat had slowed dramatically and Siren continued the walk back to her dressing room.
Opening the door she saw Derick and AJ leaning against the wall and desk with varying looks on their faces. Before anyone could say or ask Siren anything she stated "We will talk about this back at my place and not a moment sooner." Her tone was final and all three of them nodded their heads in understanding. "Good, now get out."
Siren didn't bother to change out of her jeans and lace bodysuit, instead she threw on an oversized grey sweater and grabbed her hat and coat as she gathered the rest of things into her small suitcase. Just as she was about to put on her coat she heard a commotion outside her door. She moved quickly to the door and opened it to see the backside of Reggie "Hey, what the hell is going on?" She asked as the arguing continued just out of sight thanks to Reggies' physique. That's when Siren heard an all too familiar voice. "Wait Reggie, move!" She pushed him just enough that she could get between his body and the door frame.
It was Dabi and Derick standing a few feet apart looking ready to attack the other. Siren had noticed Dabi in the audience towards the end of her performance so she wasn't sure what all he saw but she knew he definitely saw the end. Her thoughts distracted her from their back and forth so she interrupted them "Excuse me, but why the fuck are guys out here going back and forth about who's dick is bigger?"
That got their attention as they both turned to her with a raised eyebrow. "Honestly I wasn't listening. So, what's going on?" She asked looking between the both of them. "This guy says he's your boyfriend-" "You actually said it?" She asked turning to Dabi and ignoring Derick completely. His smile was enough of an answer.
"Did I miss something?" Asked AJ.
"Guys," Siren said a little louder than normal to get their full attention. "This is Dabi my boyfriend," she said wrapping her arm around his and leaning into his shoulder.
"Oh my gosh! So cute!" Siren turned to see three new people approaching them. The one who had just squealed like a little girl was a high school girl with blonde hair in a bun on either side of her head and yellow eyes. Next to her was a guy dressed in a black skintight suit with grey details, his face was completely covered. The person next to him was dressed in a trench coat with a top hat and a face mask.
"They make a cute couple. Not! I think I'm gonna be sick," came the voice of the man in the black and grey suit. "I've been dying to meet you ever since I saw your first video! I love your music, can we be friends now that you two are dating?" Asked the blonde girl.
"You didn't tell me that you had…friends?" Siren whispered to Dabi. He responded in a normal tone, "We're not friends."
"Dabi likes to say cruel things, but we don't take it seriously. My name is Mr. Compress and this is Toga and Twice, it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person Miss Siren," "The pleasure is all mine Mr. Compress. And to answer your question, Toga, we can totally be friends-" "Don't encourage her," "She's just a kid. And if she hangs out with you guys all day I'm sure she needs some female interaction," "You have no idea. It's a sausage fest around here."
Siren was immediately pulled from Dabis' side and back into the dressing room. The door closed and she turned to see the three men looking at her with their arms crossed. "Alright I'll say what the three of us are thinking. Tha fuck?!" "First off that was rude as fuck and second I don't want a lecture from my big brothers right now-" "To bad you're getting one anyway-" "Come on, I'd rather explain what you saw on stage then go into details about my love life."
The silence from them meant that they where thinking it over. 'Of course, that did the trick' she thought with an eye roll. She opened her mouth to speak but Reggie spoke first "No, you said you would tell us everything back at your place. Obviously that means it's not something you want overheard. We are simply concerned about you dating a villain-" "It's obvious what he wants from her," "How long has this been going on?"
"We just started dating but we've known each other for a few months-" "And what do you really know about him?" "More than you guys! Hell you guys are just judging him off his looks and the people he associates with-" "I mean the guy does scream 'Bad News,'" "You're not helping. Look I appreciate you guys looking out for me, but honestly I'm happier than I've ever been and a lot of that is thanks to him."
She looked at each of them before continuing, "Just give him a chance, for me." Reggie sighed heavily, "Alright, fine. We'll come over in the morning-" "What happened to tonight?" Derick interrupted. "Like I was saying we'll let Siren spend the night with her boyfriend but in the morning we will be coming over and you will explain, everything." "Yes sir."
Siren stepped out of the dressing room followed by Derick, AJ and Reggie. "Cya later Siren," said AJ as they continued to walk past her towards the exit. "Bye guys, thanks for coming," Siren responded with a wave. Turning back to the group before her she started "My apologies, their like big brothers always looking out for me," "No need to apologize-" Mr. Compress started before Toga interjected. "Are they from the group Nowhere Kids?" "Yeah, you know about that?" "Of course! I said I like all your music. Actually, can I get a picture with you?" "Sure," "Oh, I wanna be in it!" Chimed in Twice. "Here I'll take the picture for you" "Thanks Compress," responded Toga handing over her phone.
Dabi watched as Siren talked to his colleagues the same way she did those fan girls who approached her at the store. But Dabi wasn't just going to sit back this time around. After the flash of the camera phone he grabbed Sirens arm and pulled her close to him so he could loudly whisper, "If we don't leave right now then their going to find out why you call me 'Daddy'" she grinned and replied, "Let them watch then."
"On that note I'm definitely gonna be sick," "It was nice meeting you Siren," "We should totally hang out sometime." Siren heard them walking away but she only had eyes for Dabi right now. "Let me grab my things," he nodded and she stepped away from him.
She sat in the backseat of the cab and waited for Dabi to enter on the other side. Pulling her phone from her pocket she noticed that she had a text from Hawks and Hana and a voicemail from an unknown American number. Putting the device back into her pocket she decided to check them out later as the door closed and the car pulled away from the curb.
Once they where back at Sirens place she removed her boots, jeans and her sweater leaving her in just the white lace bodysuit. Leaving her things by the door she walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Pulling out two beers she popped the tops on both and holds out the other one towards Dabi. Stepping towards her outstretched hand he grabs the cold beverage and takes a sip. His eyes follow her as she walks over to the couch and drops down onto the cushions with her knees folded under her. Taking a sip of her own beer he continues to watch as she grabs a half blunt from the ashtray and lights it.
He walks over to the couch and sits down next to her as she watches the smoke filter into the room. As she exhales the smoke slowly he decides to ask her the one question that has been on the tip of his tongue since she finished performing. "Was all of that real?"
Lost in thought Siren didn't look at him as she responded. "Yeah. Tonights images where based off of my actual memories." She took another drag from the blunt and held it in for a bit.
"So I wasn't wrong when I called you an assassin," Siren rolled her eyes and held the cigarillo in front of Dabi. She pushed the smoke out of her lungs as she said, "No you weren't. I was trained in various forms of martial arts and with most weapons. I've killed a lot of people, but most of it I don't remember because of the mind control and the shock collar," she trailed off.
Dabi brought the blunt to his lips and inhaled "Guess I should've asked you to join us after all." His words clicked in her head and she finally turned to look at him. "You where going to ask me to join the Liberation Army?" He took another hit before answering. "No, I was going to ask you to join The League of Villains, but at the time you didn't seem like a good fit."
"Your right about that." She grabbed the blunt from Dabi and inhaled before continuing. "I'm not one to use violence as a way to solve my problems. And I definitely don't want to follow anyone else's ideals…but that's just me." Siren passed the blunt back to Dabi. "I do my own thing despite being part of a group. It's the only way to get things done."
Siren couldn't help but to think about her current situation. Being a solo artist and also doing another group album. A smile slowly spread across her face in understanding, "I get it. "You're using the group to help further your own plan," he put the blunt in the ashtray and sat back on the couch bringing his right leg up at the same time to get more comfortable, "Exactly."
'So he's not one of those mindless follower villains with a sad backstory, oh no. He's sly, sinister, manipulative, probably sociopathic and has a fire power which I've never seen him use past a simple flame.' This man is dangerous and for some reason all that thought did was excite Siren even more. She let her body fall in-between his legs and her head landed on his chest. Dabis left arm went around her waist and Siren relaxed into him.
She was in over her head and she knew it but that wasn't going to stop her from staying with Dabi. They say love is blind and whoever coined the phrase should win a metal or something because never in a million years could Siren have pictured herself with someone like Dabi. But at the same time she knew that something was drawing her to him.
"Hey Dabi," "Yeah," She hesitated for a moment before continuing. "Would you, go somewhere with me?"
"Where?" "Some place warm." She didn't see him raise an eyebrow at her. "Sounds kinda far."
"You wouldn't have to worry about a passport or anything like that. Everything would be taken care of, I…I just want you to come with me." Siren was happy that for once they weren't face to face having this discussion.
"When?"
"Next weekend?" He didn't respond immediately and Siren waited in silence for his answer fidgeting with her hands.
"I can't." Dabi said looking down at the top of her. He felt her shoulders drop slightly at his answer and it was obvious she was disappointed.
"Okay…maybe another ti-" "It would have to be tomorrow."
She turned her neck slightly to look up at him, "What?" He smiled at her reaction. "If you really want to go somewhere tomorrow is better for me."
"Are you…being serious right now or is this your idea of a joke?" "I'm serious."
She sat up revealing her backside to Dabi and he watched as she stood up giving him a great view of her ass covered in white lace. "I need my phone, I have a lot of calls to make." He grabbed her wrist and pulled her right back into his lap. His hands went to her hips and continued to hold her in place as his lips made contact with her neck.
"Now isn't the time for a distraction Da-" "Did you forget what time it is? Whatever it is can wait 'til the morning," he breathed onto her neck sending a chill down her spine. "I can at least book a few things onli- oh fuck," she breathed as he bit her weak spot and sucked on it. His hands traveled up her body and Siren knew she had no choice but to succumb to the pleasure he was about to put her through.
