Calem, Nate, and Hilbert stands in front of the vast landscape of the ocean near Undella Town. The sun had just risen from the sky, letting it burn a nice gradient hue of light orange to clear blue.
As Nate inhale the fresh ocean breeze deeply, Hilbert started, ruining the atmosphere. "This is a nice view and all, but why the hell did you woke us up this early in the morning just to go to the beach, in the middle of winter no less." Hilbert groaned, sleep still in his system as he give a small glare at Nate.
Nate turns around towards them, a huge stupid grin plastered on his face as per usual, signalling both that whatever he's thinking is probably not gonna be a pretty idea. "Simple, we're going diving!" and with that three words, off Nate's clothes, leaving him in his swimsuit.
Calem and Hilbert could only stare at Nate, the former with confusion while the latter in an unreadable emotion, annoyance would be Nate's best guess. "I mean, I'm all down for underwater exploration, but why this early in the morning?" Calem questioned, and a simple "Why not?" was all Nate answered followed by a quick facepalm from the male beside him.
/
"Alright, first order of business, everyone can swim right?" Nate spoke up, the three having surfed on their Pokemon to the spot the bush-haired brunet had found as a suitable diving spot. A rather darker spot in the ocean, where one can clearly see it to be a place where the ocean seems to go a lot deeper than the rest of the area. The other two teens nodded, letting Nate peak up again, "Good! Calem, ever heard of Abyssal Ruins?"
"I think I heard about it somewhere on the brochure, something about a sunken civilization with hidden treasures?" The male in questioned answered, suddenly getting an idea on what they're about to do, making an "oh" sound. Nate nodded at him, giving a pat and telling the Aqua Rabbit he's been riding on to create air bubbles for the three, in which he gladly do before being returned to his pokeball after a thank you. The other two quickly followed, returning their respective swimmers into their Pokeballs. Nate loudly whistles and down come his Braviary, swooping in to take back their Pokeballs to the safety of the beach.
"Wait, why aren't we bringing our pokemon for this?" Hilbert had to inquired, a tone of concern and confusion filling it. "Well it's good exercise, and they'd probably have a lot more fun playing at the beach anyways." Nate answers back.
"Okay, treasure, here we come!" And down Nate goes into the underwater abyss, Hilbert said to Calem, "Arceus damn it, be worried, because I have never been down there as well." before following the Brunet. And worry Calem shall as he dives down last, worrying for losing them both and not knowing what will happen...although he'd be lying if he wasn't excited as well.

He didn't knew what to expect, but the sight that beholds his eyes is something like out of a painting. The submerged temple has been completely overgrown by sea lives and many water Pokemon has made the surrounding area their home, giving it quite a mythical view especially with the way the sun filtered shine lights the temple. Nate leads the way down towards one of the entrances to the temple, sending hand signals for them to follow closely while Hilbert makes occasional glances back towards Calem to make sure he stays within sight.
No one had taught Nate that staying together is better than separating because the boy in question had already disappeared into the depth of the ruins. Hilbert lets out a long sigh and before Calem could call out to Hilbert's name, he already swam towards one of the three paths, probably blindly as well. "Arceus damn it guys..." Calem breaths out, swimming to the path Hilbert had taken to try and catch up with him.
/
"Hey guys, I think I found something!" Nate called out, floating in front of what seems to be a purple wall with mysterious runes inscribed on it. He turns around expecting the other two having followed him-only to notice no one was there. "Guys...?" He said again, trying to be a bit more louder hoping that for some unknown reason, they're just messing with him. Nate quickly swam back towards the corridor he had went through and looking around, panic setting in slowly as he swallows hard on his situation.
Nate tries to calm down by breathing slowly, not wanting to waste all of the air in his bubble, 'Okay, alright, maybe if I retrace my steps, I'd run into one of them.' With that little hope, he starts taking up his pace back towards whatever direction he came from, yelling for the other two teens name's in the process.
A dull sound can be heard somewhere in the distance. The sound went ignored by Nate.
/
"I wonder if I could ask Calem to buy me a couple of drinks-heck the laws, a person needs a chance to wind down a bit and I might as well start getting used to those toxic waste of a liquid so I'm ready when I'm off age..." Hilbert kept on mumbling to himself. He had noticed halfway while looking for Nate that he also somehow gotten seperated from Calem, thinking that the Kalosian had been following him this entire time. "Nate! Calem!" He screamed for their name, before questioning the logic of whether screaming underwater-even with the air bubble allowing voices to travel-can actually be heard or would it result in more bubbling noise. Shaking his head, Hilbert continued on straight towards whatever corridor is in his nearest view.
A nearby clicking sound can be heard. Hilbert's ears picked up the sound but soon after the sound disappeared, he pretended that it was only in his head.

"If this is what diving results in with those two, I think I'll skip the next session." Calem sighs as he continuously swimming through the ruin's corridor. His sigh grew louder as he had accidently ran into a dead end and as Calem was about to turn around, he sees a small gleam of light at the corner of the wall. Swimming closer, he picks up a small gold coin, "This looks valuable, although anything that could be found here might as well be." He chuckled to himself before tightening his hand onto the coin to make sure it doesn't fall off while he's continuing his search for both of his friend and any more loots on the floor's ruin.
A thunk can be heard very near. Calem's head shots up as he looks around cautiously, deciding that maybe exploring with a bit more alarm would be wise to do.

The three explored through the ruins for another few minutes before they all heard a loud thumping sound. Worried of the whereabouts of each other's location, they all had somehow decided to try and swim back to the entrance in hopes that the other two of their little group had actually been waiting for them out there as well as getting as far away from whatever made that sound. Calem being lucky and only having been stuck in a little loop around the small place near the opening, got out with relief but soon begins to panic a little at not seeing Nate and Hilbert outside. he looked back at the entrance anxiously, "Oh Arceus-don't tell me-"
His sentence was quickly cut off by a strong torrent of water shooting out of the entrance. A blur of cream and black shoots past at the corner of his eyes and when Calem follows what was thrown out, he found out that it was both Nate and Hilbert, both looked like they're being ragdoll by the current that shoots them upward towards the surface. Full panic mode, Calem swam up as fast as he can to make sure that his companions turns out fine by the end of this.
He regrets deeply having followed Nate's words of 'everything will be fine'.

"Nate, I am this close to actually letting Samurott use Hydro Cannon on you." Hilbert glares at the younger brunet sitting beside him. The two were knocked unconscious from the strong current and the occasional hitting of the ruin's wall, that they don't really able to recall how they even got there. They wouldn't have known had Calem not told them, apparently he got lucky enough to get Nate Braviary's attention and upon seeing the the two fainted brunets, alarmed the others to quickly get them ashore.
"I mean, hey, it was an unforgetable experience right?" Nate chuckled nervously, taking a glance at Hilbert's direction before shutting up in fear of the latter's death glare.
"He is right about it being an experience, albeit a scary one. And besides..." The two quips their head at Calem who throws them a small smile, "At least I got something out of it all." His smile grew wider as he finally open his hand and let them see of the coin he got. Nate's eyes immediately grew and shine in astonishment and envy, letting out any fear he felt prior from the threat Hilbert had given and pretty much pushing him out of the way to take a closer look at the coin, "You found a Gold Relic?! Calem, you're so lucky!"
Hilbert's muffled words of irritation could also be heard, "yes, how lucky of you."
He pushed Nate out of the way, throwing the younger one onto the sand as he requests Calem something, "by the by, could you buy me a few whiskey? I'd appreciate to hung myself over after this event." and Calem's only respond to his request is as expected, "...what."
Coming up with scenarios are haaard. CorruptedShipping fanfics has been taking up my time, lmao.
This one is a bit long, I was thinking of dividing it into two chapters but couldn't find a good spot to cut it off, so here's a bit of a long one. I'd really appreciate some scenario ideas. ;
But yeah, reviews are alwyas appreciated!
Also also, based on age, my headcannon for this fic is that it happened 1 year after XY. so Calem is 18, Hilbert is 17, and Nate is 16.
I'm still not sure on their team arrangement though.
I'll probably update the "Black and White Journey" someday, I lost interest in it right now.
