In the early hours of the morning in the ruins of Fukushima, two people stood atop an observation tower as they looked at the sleeping giant with glowing cracks in its scaly skin that was said to somehow be the reincarnation of the 1954 Godzilla but just as nastier as the long destroyed monster.
Either way, the beast looked like a joke next to the other monsters.
The two brothers standing atop the Fukushima Observation Platform were Americans of Chinese descent who were on vacation and sightseeing when the Shin Godzilla attack happened, they'd narrowly survived what had happened over two nights prior and had done a fine job not getting radiation sickness.
The eldest brother, Tom, was brown-haired while his youngest brother, Harry was black-haired and well shaven. They both used binoculars to observe the ruins.
"Did you hear the news?" Tom asked Harry, "The Japanese government is about to launch an all-out, joint military attack with the American armed forces against that big ass beast and will be aiding the other big guy, kinda absurd don't you think?"
Harry chuckled, "I sure as heck heard the statement by the Prime Minister but I absolutely have my doubts as to if it'll work or not. However, my gut tells me there's a chance Operation Serizawa might actually succeed."
"Oh yeah!" Tom elbowed his brother, "While your gut's been proven right most of the time, you've been proven wrong about many things on multiple occasions."
"Who cares, Tom? I'm confident big boy over there is goin' down."
"Sure he's gonna fall and we're gonna survive to see another day."
Before Harry could say anything, the ground began to rumble and then the whole tower began to quake, almost knocking down the two brothers had they not grasped the railing for support.
"Wha... What's going on?" Tom asked, "Why does the shaking make us feel as if a stampede is coming this w..."
Harry looked to the east and yelped in amazement, "LOOK OVER THERE!"
Godzilla 2000 had returned to the area, bent on having a rematch with his rival as his eyes blazed with determination and total fury as he charged towards the sleeping beast.
"Shall we get outta here?" Tom asked Harry, starting to climb down the tower, "You may never know when things are gonna get out of hand. Or do you wanna stay?" Harry shrugged and followed his brother, "Lets get out of here!"
Eager to make the first strike, Godzilla leapt up like a kangaroo and slid on his own tail across the ground towards Shin Godzilla, smashing through a couple buildings in the process but still collided with the dark-red monster, knocking him to the ground while 2000 got back on his feet.
Shin woke up from his slumber, roaring furiously as he starred up into the eyes of the creature that had dared to oppose and thwart his plans for the world a few nights prior.
Godzilla 2000 roared back, ready for another battle and knowing what he had to do: Overpower his opponent and somehow end him!
The towering embodiment of radioactivity, destruction and monstrous hatred climbed back onto its feet, bellowing an earthshattering screech that made the observation tower collapse and crumble. Both Kaiju stared each other down, both growling as one of them planned out the next move, prepared for battle.
Roaring again, Shin Godzilla made his move, charging like a bull and attempting to knock down the green-skinned titan. Seeing it coming, 2000 grabbed the beast's head, stopping him before he made contact.
The red-skinned monster struggled to break free before Godzilla 2000 shoved him back and fired off an atomic breath shot, blasting the would-be destroyer of the world in the face.
"AYYYYARRRRRRRGH!" Shin howled and prepared to attack, his dorsal plates glowing as the tail suddenly shot up, its tip pointed towards 2000.
Knowing what his foe was trying to do (and seeing an opportunity to injure him more, Godzilla charged up an even bigger atomic breath attack and fired, the shot going straight for Shin Godzilla's tail.
Before the abomination could react, the huge orange beam of atomic energy burned through the tail and blasted off half of it, the part with the face on the tip went flying through the air until it vanished. Blood gushed forth from the area where a part of the tail once sat.
Shinzilla howled in pain, his tail mangled and beyond repair, rage burning within him. The wound burned as if the tail had been set on fire, fueling the beast's anger and strength as he charged towards his opponent and knocked him over.
The true King of the Monsters looked up into the face of his adversary, the demonic beast's eyes glowing a bright fiery red and then a ghostly blue, the purple fins upon Shin's back glowing brighter as the mouth started to unhinge.
Realizing what was about to come next, 2000 quickly charged up a nuclear attack and fired a stream of his trademark orange energy beam into Shin's mouth.
The explosion caused the monster to back down, coughing and howling as if it were choking on something it shouldn't have tried to eat. Godzilla got back to his feet, ready to continue the fight when...
BOOM! BLAM BLAM! BZZZT!
Japanese armed forces had entered the area and begun to launch their attack, bombers and fighter jets flew overhead and tanks rolled in, maser cannons moving into position.
Not to far off, Japanese battleships and American navy vessels lined the harbor with guns pointed towards the ruins of the city before launching cruise missiles and all torpedoes.
The Allied Forces pounded and bombarded the dark-red, purple finned, possessed and irradiated sea monster, bombs exploding and the artillery striking the target without any projectiles accidently hitting the other Godzilla, who punched Shin in the face and kicked him in the knees.
2000 roared his battle cry and charged like a bull, pushing back his opponent using his head and speed even as the two monsters smashed into more buildings and crushed houses.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAHHRRRNGK!" Shin roared as he stumbled backward, "GRRRRRRRRYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOONGK!" 2000 roared back and smacked the demonic abomination with his tail before picking up the reincarnated Godzilla 1954 by what remained of the tail, lifting him off his feet before slamming him down on the ground repeatedly.
All the while, Japanese and American forces continued to target and strike at the ancient, mutated and possessed demonic prehistoric sea creature of doom with cruise missiles.
Having had enough of tail slamming this freak, Godzilla 2000 began swinging Shin around in circles, ignoring the intense heat suddenly emitting from him, speeding up before letting go and sent his mighty foe flying.
Shin Godzilla roared as he flew through the air, crashing near three abandoned office towers. The dark red entity slowly got to his feet, ready to face his foe again.
By that time, Godzilla 2000 had another trick up his sleeve: He walked forward and jumped up high into the air, Shin barely had time to react as 2000 came down atop him and toppled the monstrosity to the ground, smashing through one of the office buildings in the process.
"AYYYYEEEOOOOONGK!" Godzilla 1954 2.0 howled, "AHRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHRRRRRRNGK!"
From a safer distance, not too far off at Hirohito Air Base, the Allied Forces commander Japanese-American General Arthur Futikawa observed the battle with his binoculars atop an observation platform, accompanied by an American solider and the Prime Minister of Japan himself.
"Does the strategy seem to be working at all?" Nakamura asked Arthur.
The general lowered the binoculars, "Mr. Prime Minister, "I can assure you with certainty that the beast will be defeated, radiation levels detected by our Geiger counters are going through the roof.
"At the rate things are going, Shin should soon be down for the count within an hour or thirty minutes. Until then, the attack must continue and the real Godzilla needs all the backup he can get for what is one of his toughest battles ever."
"Yes, one of his toughest battles indeed." The guard nodded.
Godzilla 2000 began to beat away at Shin Godzilla while he was down on the ground, punching him in the face and kicking the heck out of him like wild while picking up the beast, tossing him into the air and slamming Shin down hard.
From time to time, Godzilla would whack his foe with his mighty tail upon the head whenever Shin Godzilla tried to get back on his feet. All the while, more bombs and missiles poured down around the two beasts, a few hitting Shin.
American stealth bombers flew over and dropped bunker buster bombs upon the beast's back, blasting off another dorsal plate and causing blood to spew everywhere onto the streets and the rubble below.
The bombings and the monster battle were so intense and tough, it sent dust raining down from the ceilings in the bunkers and subway shelters underground, causing survivors of the catastrophe a few nights prior to squirm with nervousness.
Maser tanks rolled onto the scene and took aim at Shin Godzilla, firing orange beams of light at the beast. Cruise missiles came down and hit the towering and not-so mighty titan in the legs, staggering him and allowing the real Godzilla to keep delivering several punches.
More buildings crumbled, more explosions went off and the air was filled with the sounds of monsters roaring, people shouting in different languages and explosive weapons going off like wild.
Minutes ticked by before the Allied Forces commander decided to call off the attack, feeling that the military, navy and air force had done enough.
When the smoke and dust had settled, Godzilla 2000 and Shin Godzilla stood before one another, the former staring down the latter. One was exhausted and ready to collapse, the other monster was on the edge of triumph.
Shin was panting, growling furiously, injured and his energies mostly drained. Not too far off, scientists detected that his skin was stiffening, a reactor scram about to happen as the beast had begun to overheat.
Godzilla 2000's dorsal plates glowed, an orb of energy within the crocodile-headed kaiju's mouth building up as the beast got ready to fire off another nuclear blast. Shin Godzilla's remaining dorsal plates glowed violet, signaling that he would attack soon.
Onlookers watched from a distance, pondering who would attack first. A minute later, 2000 let loose his atomic breath and blasted his foe in the legs, knocking him to the ground. Shin lay there, helpless as his strength to fight was gone. "Grrrryaaaaaaaaooooooooongk!" The beast roared.
"Mrrrrrrrrrrnk!" Godzilla growled back and proceeded to place his foot upon his fallen foe's head, eager to stomp and crush it. 2000 raised his foot and brought it down while kicking the ghost incarnate with the other.
Then, just before the King of the Monsters could stomp again. Shin Godzilla's textures started to change, the dorsal plates suddenly became dark-gray, his eyes became blank and the beast let out a weak roar, "Ahreeeeaaaaahhrrrrrahraaaahrrrrrrngk!"
Then, the beast froze, literally; No more movement and no more roars, the creature had met his demise. A shadowy specter emerged from the body and vanished into thin air. Godzilla put his foot down, staring at the frozen remains of his nemesis, sensing that the last remnant of his old rival was gone and his place as King of the Monsters secure.
Roaring triumphantly, the titan picked up what had been Shin Godzilla aka Godzilla 1954 Reincarnated and left the area, heading for the ocean.
His intent?
Destroy what was left of this abomination...
