flashback Lana's POV:
I was standing outside in the cold with my wife Yang, Ren my dad, and my daddy Jaune. Jaune was trying to get a signal because we crashed our bikes after we had to go on a rescue mission to save Oscar who was kidnapped by a Grimm and taken back to Salem.
I am really worried about Oscar right now. he is in the hands of Salem the most dangerous villain out there. "I repeat if there is anyone out there who can hear me...we need transport back to mantel" Jaune said. I was walking along,
next to Jaune and Yang who were walking in front of us with Ren taking the lead. Yang is checking our Aura levels on her scroll. "We need to get out of this weather. before the cold drops, our Aura's completely. How much farther to the outpost?" Yang said.
Ren ignored Yang so she repeated herself, "Ren how much farther till..." Yang was cut off when Ren said, "I don't know" Ren said. "I thought you said you saw it when you,
were up in the air?" Yang said. "I did. before I had to cut myself loose to help you guys" Ren snapped. I felt myself getting tense. Jaune noticed this too and went over to,
comfort me. "Hey what's your deal?" Yang said. "Don't worry about that" Ren said. "well I'm sorry things aren't going smoothly enough for you!" Yang snapped back. I cringed,
as I knew an argument was about to come on. I held onto Jaune's arm and hid behind him. "They are not going smoothly at all" Ren shouted. "I hate to break it to you.
but that is part of being a hunstman" Yang said. "Are you kidding?! We don't know the first thing about being a huntsman! we clearly weren't ready!" Ren yelled. "Guy's cut it,
out. your scaring Lana" Jaune said. "Were we not ready when we saved haven? when we took down a Leviathan? we got the lamp to Atlas" Yang said. "And then we lost it!"
Ren yelled. and after that when we had to make real decisions we got every single one thing wrong. and things would have been a lot easier if We did not have a daughter,
to take care of!" Ren yelled. tears were streaming down my face when Ren said that. that really hurt me. does Ren really mean that he does not want me as his daughter,
anymore? I thought he loved me. Jaune continued to comfort me and trying to break up the fight. "I am not going to pretend like we did everything perfectly. and watch it that is my wife and your daughter that you are talking about! and if we did nothing,
then things would be even worse" Yang said. "How could they possibly worse?! we are stuck here while Salem has the lamp and Oscar! we got no plan! no army!" Ren yelled. "We got the maiden" Yang said. "and by keeping her from opening the vault for Ironwood,
we're just trapping the WHOLE CITY for Salem! People are going to die because of us" Ren yelled. "So what? we should just give Ironwood what he wants? abandoned Mantle? Do you think Atlase is still going to be able to stay afloat?
"But these aren't the kind of decisions we should be making. because we have no idea what we are doing!" Ren yelled. I was feeling more scared now. sweat was running down,
my face and my body was shaking. Jaune noticed my escalation in anxiety. "Okay. both of you cut it out. can't you see you're scaring Lana already?" Jaune said. Yang looked,
at me with concern. "It's okay baby. we're not going to hurt you I promise" Yang said with a small smile. I said nothing and nodded. I am more scared of Ren right now than,
I am Yang. "I'm just saying what nobody else wants's too. we are way over our heads. Ruby is barely more than a kid. I'm just an orphan from the middle of nowwhere" Ren,
was cut off when Jaune and I were trying to speak. "Dad, please stop it I can't take it anymore!" I cried. "SHUT UP LANA, I DON"T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY! I WISH WE,
NEVER ADOPTED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE!" Ren screamed. "Ren I-" Jaune said but was cut off when Ren yelled at him. "AND YOU CHEATED YOUR WAY INTO BEACON!" Ren,
roared angrily. everything was silent when Ren said that. tears were streaming down my face uncontrollably as I was sobbing. Yang went over to comfort me and Jaune was,
comforting me too. "You don't think we should be huntsman? Fine. but I am getting out of the cold. And how could you say that to our daughter? you should be ashamed"
Jaune said. "Seriously, is your goal to push everyone away? Including your own daughter? you should be there for her you know she is going through a lot right now" Yang said. Ren said nothing as Yang and Jaune continued walking. I stood there unable to move.
I looked at Ren uncomfortable as he stood still. Ren looked at me and gave me a glare. "I hate you, this is your fault" Ren said quietly. "Your grounded for two weeks" Ren said. with that Ren walked away. Yang and Jaune noticed that I was standing still.
I had my eyes closed and fell. "LANA!" Yang and Jaune cried as they ran up to me. they caught me as I was about to fall over and hurt myself. "Are you okay?" Yang said with concern. "I'm scared" I said. "I know Lana. Ren didn't mean any of that. were all stressed right now" Jaune said.
"Daddy, did you really cheat your way into beacon?" I said. "Yes, Lana I did. but I had people to help me see me through that" Jaune said with regret. "Can you walk?" Yang,
said. I tried to walk but I was wobbly. "I can carry you while we walk to the outpost" Jaune said. "thanks daddy" I said. Jaune picked me up and Yang carried the broken bike.
a while later we finally arrived in the outposet. Jaune laid me down and tucked me in bed. after that Jaune walked over to Ren. "Your right Ren I did cheat my way into beacon.
and I am glad I had people to see me through that" Jaune said. Ren said nothing and stormed out. I sighed. Yang walked over to me and rubbed my head. "Try to get some,
sleep okay hon? By morning you will feel better and...I will talk to Ren" Yang said. "Thanks Yang. I am just really stressed out right now and I am really worried about Oscar.
what if Salem hurts him?!" I said with tears streaming down my face. "it's okay honey, we will save Oscar don't worry. Oscar is strong he won't get hurt don't worry. I'm sure through all this he would want you to stay strong too" Yang said. Yang then kissed me. "goodnight Lana" Yang said. "Goodnight Yang" I said.
with that, I fell into a deep sleep.
