Shinichi is walking back to Agasa's house when he spotted Inspector Megure who is leaving the detective agency. He walks towards him, "Good evening Megure-keibu, what are you doing here?"
"S-shinichi-kun?!" he shouted in shock then he covered his mouth. "What are you doing here? Especially on this street?" he whispered to him.
"I'm walking back home. Why? Is there something wrong?" he asked him.
"You shouldn't be here. If Mouri-kun saw you, you will be dead." Megure explained.
"Ohh okay. I mean that's normal. He doesn't like me." Shinichi explained.
"Mouri-kun told me about Ran-kun." Megure said, elbowing Shinichi which makes him blushed. "But right now, I'm saving you from him. Mouri-kun is not in the right state right now."
After saying these, he noticed that Shinichi's face looked down. "It's getting late, you should go home now." Shinichi nodded and went to Agasa's house.
At Agasa's house:
"Ran's gone. She left." Shinichi told Agasa and Haibara.
"Do you know where they went?" Agasa asked.
"No, no one is telling me. I asked Hattori if Kazuha knew something but he said that she doesn't have any ideas. Sonoko is avoiding me. I can't ask oji-san because he's not in the right state right now and he might kill me when he sees me. I think Megure-keibu knew something but he won't tell me. Getting back to my real body is such a waste!" Shinichi exclaimed.
"I'm sorry Shinichi-kun…" Agasa comforted him.
"It's my fault anyway… I should go home first." He said coldly then went home.
At Kudo Mansion:
"Good evening Subaru-san." Shinichi said as he walked past Okiya who was stunned seeing him.
"Kudo Shinichi-kun?" he asked.
"Yeah, it's me. Haibara managed to make an antidote for me at least for one month but it's useless now since Ran already left me." He stated then went to his bedroom.
Morning came, Subaru prepared breakfast for them. After eating, Shinichi went to his room again and lock himself there. After many hours it's nighttime again, Shinichi skipped lunch and went to the dining room to look for something to eat. While walking down the stairs, he heard that Subaru Okiya aka Shuichi Akai is talking to someone. Knowing that eavesdropping is bad, he thought of going up quietly again so that he will not disturb them.
"We've already talked to the NPA SB (National Police Agency Security Bureau), they agreed to back-up us in our mission." The lady stated which makes Shinichi stopped. The lady's voice is familiar, so he quietly peeked at the living room. Just as he thought, it's Jodie Starling. She is also an FBI agent.
"I see but why? We don't actually need them. We can handle the Black Organization by ourselves." Shuichi muttered while cooking dinner.
"We will be attacking the whole organization, not only Gin, Vodka, and Vermouth. The whole Black Organization. Also, my people told me that the TMPD is now aware of the Black Organization. They are investigating them, and they also have a lead. Mouri-tantei is helping this case." Jodie explained.
"Wait. What? Black Organization? Oji-san?!" Shinichi thought to himself.
"I think we don't need Mouri-tantei's help. We don't need another burden." Shuichi said.
"That's what I thought earlier but Megure-keibu told me that Mouri-tantei must be included in this mission no matter what." Jodie answered.
"Oji-san? Why? The Black Organization is too dangerous." Shinichi thought. He must look after Kogoro knowing him being clumsy but still, he is Ran's father.
"Let me help you too!" Shinichi shouted which startled the two adults by his presence.
"We don't need a kid like you to get involve." Jodie scolded.
"Actually, we need Kudo-kun. You're in." Shuichi said.
That whole evening, Shinichi confessed to Jodie that he is Conan to gain her trust. They explained their plan on how to capture the Black Organization. By the information given by Furuya Rei, a spy in Black Organization.
It is revealed that once every year, the executive members of the Black Organization get together for a board meeting while the other members get to inspection. They meet somewhere but never in the same place twice. But this time they will meet in an underground bar in Tokyo. They will ask for TMPD's cooperation to get the information they needed from their investigation.
"You're ready Kudo-kun?" Shuichi asked.
"Yeah." Shinichi responded.
