The big red-white British "cargo ship" known as the Churchill sat parked next to the French "supply ship" called the De Gaulle, the ships were well manufactured back in 1988.
As of 2005, they were now 17 years old and when 2008 and 2018 arrived, those ships would be twenty years and then thirty years old.
But our focus is on the British ship Churchill and one particular military individual; Colonel Bill Benton, a man in his 30s with brown hair, a cookney accent, dark eyes and side buns as well as a white uniform.
He'd been serving for five years and was currently in the service of the British military embassy in Japan to maintain good British-Anglo military relations. Bill made his away aboard the Churchill, he was there on important business, to make sure things were set when it was time to test the outer space nukes.
"Colonel, how are you?" Benton's Scottish Highlander colleague Robert asked, shaking his hand.
"Ruddy good." Bill replied, coding into the hold where the controls for the space-based nuclear launcher were located. "It feels weird preparing for a high above-ground nuclear test in Japan, ye know." Robert pointed out.
Benton nodded, "Yes, I know. But the government thinks its important for the Japanese people to watch the important work England and French are doing."
"I bleedin' hope we're careful."
"Don't worry." Robert entered the hold and examined the black control panel on the wall. "We all understand the dangers of nuclear weapons and nuclear war."
"Ye know the Jappy Prime Minister. He's not a fan of nukes and very recently gave a speech about nuclear weapons. If something bad happens and he learns that a nuke is coming Japan's way, he's gonna get really upset and have to do another anti-nuclear speech."
"Who cares, we'll probably retreat to a bunker in case if a nuclear holocaust breaks out and all life on Earth ends up getting decimated to a point where there might not be a whole load of survivors."
Two satellites bearing the British flag and the French flag sat in high rotation above Earth, currently inactive, but they were loaded with a nuclear missile, two big ones.
The controls on the planet for the missiles were in ships parked in Japan's harbors, when the time came, the missiles would fire and explode above the skies over the planet over the continent of Asia.
But little did everyone know was that something would soon go wrong and the results would not be pretty. Ghost Godzilla was coming and his arrival would damage the ships, causing the controls to activate, making the missiles launch...
Blackouts!
As the sun set over a mostly deserted Tokyo and the stars began to come out, every single light and piece of electronics began to shut down, lights, jumbotrons, electric billboards, etc.
It had been a long time since a Japanese city had underwent a blackout, back in WWII, every Japanese city bombed by Allied Forces, underwent blackout mode to evade being struck by "enemy" bombers.
In Tokyo harbor, rows of tanks, cannons, troops and rocket launchers moved into position. Even battleships were lining the harbor, facing the bay, armed and ready.
Jet fighters and helicopters flew over the bay, the pilots on guard and under orders to alert anyone if anything emerged.
Defense lines 1, 2 and 3 were being set up, the Japanese navy crews felt cold as chills shot up their spines, thinking of what the 1954 Godzilla's ghost could possibly look like.
Behind the battleships stood turret towers, tanks and missile launchers, close by and away from the edge of the harbor stood the other line of troops, tanks, cannons and rocket launchers.
The uniformed, rifle-bearing men were chatting amongst themselves, sharing jokes and talking about their lives. Commander Fujita had his hands on the radio, awaiting further orders from HQ or the Prime Minister and his… "advisors from GPN".
Meanwhile, in a metallic bunker with carpet flooring beneath the government district of the city, in a room surrounded by electronics, the PM, the Johnstons, Alice, Ian and most of the government officials watched on the just-activated big board as the military and the navy finished their set up.
Ben nodded, "I admit the Japanese Self Defense Force is very effective against whatever could pose a threat to Japan's mainland."
"I agree." Kamatakura agreed, speaking English since he was talking with English-speaking people. "I just hope the military might somehow drive off our Godzilla Ghost. I do fear the worst."
"Mr. PM, don't worry too much, things will work out in the end. The world will be safe and the bad guys will be stopped."
The old politician nodded grimly, barely evading memories of the past from when he was very, very young.
As helicopters hovered and coast guard boats roamed in circles, patrolling the bay area in preparation for what seemed to feel like an eternity before something was bound to happen.
The water began to bubble and glow brightly. In one of the helicopters a Geiger counter began to go bonkers and the pilot looked at it with confusion, not knowing what was happening when…
WHOOSH!
The gigantic specter of the 1954 Godzilla's spirit emerged, roaring loudly, its roar piercing the silence of the night. "GYAOOOON!" The pilot screamed and hit the gas, steering the chopper away before the beast swiped at it.
"RED ALERT! RED ALERT!" The pilot screamed, "ITS HERE. THE GHOST OF THE FIRST GODZILLA IS HERE. SCRAMBLE FIGHTERS AND BATTLESHIPS."
BSSSSSHHHH! KA BOOM! The beast's nuclear breath shot down the chopper before shooting down the choppers as the coast guard retreated to shore.
Within 5 minutes, battleships began moving into attack position and JSDF fighter jets flew in, ready for attack.
"Got the ghost in my sights." A pilot said, lowering his goggles, hands on the controls.
"Look at the size of that thing!" Another exclaimed.
"I'm going in." An American volunteer declared.
Japanese navy crews forgot how chilling the sight of Ghost Godzilla was and began loading the big guns, moving said guns into position.
Upon the commanders orders, the ships and the planes began firing, unleashing their payload of bullets and bombs upon Ghost Godzilla, in hopes of dishing out damage.
As expected by many, the bullets and bombs didn't have any effect as either they passed through the beast due to it being a ghost or bounced off, exploding in sparks and not penetrating Ghost Godzilla's tough hide.
"What the…" The pilots and navy crews shouted, "What tomfoolery is this? Oh never mind, KEEP FIRING AWAY!"
The guns continued to let loose on Ghost Godzilla, slowly enraging the beast as he planned his retaliation. "RAAHNGLAAAARRREEEEEEEOOONK!" The ghost roared.
The planes flew by and the battleships surrounded the phantom in a pincer movement, trying to trap him.
"GYAOOOOOOOOROOONK!" Now Ghost Godzilla had enough. As the planes circled about for another attack, the dorsal plates began to light up blue.
"GRONGK!" The pilots of the jets widened, taking notice too late as the blue plasma beam fired from the phantom's maw and blasted 3 planes out of the sky.
The gunfire and bomb dropping stopped as the planes began to retreat, turning its focus on the battleships, Ghost Godzilla wiped out its navy-ish foes. One by one, all the ships exploded in a ball of fire and began to sink and burn.
With defense line 1 in retreat, the beast dove back underwater and advanced towards Tokyo, failing to notice that he was being observed from afar by the new Godzilla as the huge airborne fortress of Doc John Koschizawa flew overhead...
