Since that night on the summit, Mufasa and Adela flourished from that moment. Soon the youngest son of Ahadi and Uru and the only daughter of Jaser, became an item. Everyone were surprised about the couple. Considering that Adela was older but everyone accepted the relationship.

Scar on the other paw, found the whole affair sickening. He hated seeing Mufasa happily in love with Adela. But even though Mufasa's relationship sickening him, it gave him ideas of his own.

Seeing how happy his brother was with Adela, Scar wondered if love really did have that happy effect on others. If love could bring happiness to him.

The brown teen began to think about a certain young lioness who always plagued his heart. He really didn't care that Isla was his adopted sister, she could have been his blood relative but he couldn't stop thinking about how life would be if he had Isla by his side.

So he decided to talk to her after he got away from the family bonding since now Adela is to be his sister-in-law and queen when Mufasa takes the throne.

Isla wasn't hard to find after the bonding and Scar quickly asked to take a walk, which the light gold teen agreed.

"Isn't it wonderful about Muffy and Dela?"

Scar scoffed as he continued to walk a bit ahead of the light gold pelted female. "...Peachy."

Isla frowned at the sarcasm. "Aren't you happy for them?"

Scar sighed heavily, it's now or never. "I suppose. It at least made me think about some things."

Isla looked at the bit older male with wondering purple eyes. "Oh really, like what?"

Scar blushed looking away, "Uh...well..." Scar took a deep breath before turning to face the light gold female. " I, uh, care about you a lot, Isla."

Isla giggled before brushing against the rich brown teen. "I care about you too, you're my best friend and big brother."

Scar folded his ears back as he looked at Isla with love pouring from his bright green eyes. "No, I mean I like you more than a friend, than a sister."

"...Oh..." Isla couldn't find any words to say. What Adela and Sarafina said a few weeks ago came rushing forward.

Scar stepped closer with a loving smile. "I don't think I have cared about anyone as much as I do for you."

Isla felt like she was forced into a very tight spot. "Scar, I don't know what to say."

Scar's smile brightened as his ears perked. "Say you feel the same, and I'll be happy."

Isla lowered her eyes as she folded her ears back. "I'm sorry but I care for you, just not like that."

Scar's smile faded as his ears went down. "What?"

Isla lifted her eyes and immediately wished she didn't, she couldn't stand the pain in his eyes. "You have been there for me and I love you, but I can't find myself being with you."

"I see." Scar snarled before turning away.

Isla felt hurt swept through her. "I'm sorry Scar. I never wanted to hurt you."

Scar growled as he began to walk away. "Just leave me alone."

Isla went to follow with tears starting to fall. "Haru, please..."

Scar turned and roared at the light gold teen, causing the princess to step back from shock and fear. "I said leave me alone!"

Isla sat and watched Scar run off. Tears fell rapidly from her eyes and she couldn't help but think, that she made the wrong choice.

...

Sarafina watched as Zira fawn over her new crush, a visiting rogue that's a season or so older. Everyone is getting together with someone, Ahava and Vanya are in the mist of being courted by Desta and Hunter.

She's not jealous, after all if her father's plan goes well she'll be queen. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't have feelings for a male. She always had feelings for Haru-well Scar, every since they were cubs, she didn't know how to deal with it so she was mean to the prince.

So she was glad that her father put her in his plan because she believes that Scar would be a better king than Mufasa.

With a heavy sigh she stood and started to walk away from the couples. Sarafina wasn't sure how far she walked but she wasn't expecting to find Scar near the edge of the Pridelands, crying.

The creamy teen scrunched up her nose as she walked over to the prince. "I thought I caught the scent of something foul."

Scar snapped his eyes open, tears fell freely as he glared at the few weeks younger lioness. "Sarafina...go away. I'm not in the mood."

Sarafina rolled her blue eyes. "Pfft. When are you ever in the mood for anything? What's up your butt this time? Mufasa?"

Scar narrowed his eyes as his ears went back. "It's not Mufasa! It's... It's Isla... She,"

It then dawned on Sarafina what's going on. To be honest, she actually felt for him and was hoping this would happen. "Ohhh...she rejected you, huh?"

Scar glared at the female and snarled. "Shut up and go away!"

Sarafina sighed before walking closer. "Scar, it's not the end of the world..."

Scar's eyes narrowed as he a growl ripped from his throat. "How would you know? Has the lion you cared about ever not liked you back!? Do you know this pain?!"

Sarafina stepped back and looked down at the lion. "...Yes..."

"Oh yeah right. Who could you possibly like with the cold heart you got?"

Sarafina blushed as she lowered her head. "You..."

Scar snorted before snarling. "Yeah right! Ever since we were cubs all you did was bully me!"

Sarafina sighed deeply before taking a few more steps closer. "Scar I was foolish back then. I always had a crush on you. But I didn't know how to act on it so I decided to be mean."

Scar looked at the creamy female in shock before growling. "Cut the bull, Sarafina! You don't really expect me to believe that!?"

Sarafina took a deep breath before closing the space and thrust her head under the brown prince's. Scar's heart was set on Isla but those feelings slowly disappeared and replaced with a new fire.

...X...

After departing from Sarafina, Scar roamed through the Pridelands with no real destination in mind. He just needed to clear his head. A lot has happened and he needed space to mow over what he's going to do.

"You seem deep in thought."

Scar jumped before turning to see Sarafina's father, Athazar. "What are you doing out here?"

Athazar smirked before apporching the prince. "I came to help. I know, the hyenas know and even my daughter know you would make a better king than Mufasa."

Scar didn't even flinch when the dark cream mentioned Sarafina. Considering that he just left the creamy female after a rather intimate moment.

Scar looked down before looking at the dark cream lion with a raised eye brow. "How do you know about the hyenas?"

Athazar grinned. "Because dear prince we're working together. The hyenas and I believe that you deserve to be king. If we help you you'll take Sarafina as your queen."

Scar looked at the older lion before laughing. "Me a king? That's funny."

Athazar glared before smiling. "You laugh because that's actually what Mufasa and your parents are doing. Do you know your so called mother blames you for Mohatu and Athena's death. When you become king you can set things straight."

Scar shook his head. "As good as that sounds but I will never be king. Mufasa is going to have a cub of his own. If not than Isla will be queen."

Athazar nodded his head as he walked closer. "That's why now is the time to strike."

Scar looked at Athazar with wide green eyes. "You mean kill my brother! I can't do that! He's still my brother!"

Athazar shook his head. "Not to you he's not. Remember you are adopted and you have been heart broken! Mufasa wouldn't care, Ahadi wouldn't care. All your father cares about is his heir and blood son. But if it's killing a bad thing, why not have a test run. See how you feel after, hmm?"

Scar thought about it before side stepping the dark cream lion. "I'll think about it."

Athazar grinned evily as he watched the prince disappear over a hill.

...

Scar had continued on walking, ignoring the animals that gave their respect. Scar stopped and looked towards the horizon as the sun was setting.

"Scar?" Scar groaned before looking over his shoulder to see his brother trot up. Mufasa stopped just at his brother's side. "Are you alright?"

The rich brown prince glared at his brother. "I'm fine, why wouldn't I be? And why should you care? You have everything. Mom's effections, a mate, the throne...Everything."

Mufasa frowned, he really didn't understand his brother anymore."Scar, I've always tried to see things through your eyes, but I just can't anymore. You had just as many opportunities at happiness as I have."

Scar narrowed his eyes as his glare hardened. "Ha! How the bloody hell do you reckon that?!"

Mufasa in haled and exhaled before continuing. "You want to be king, big deal. You still had a job of high honour as my advisor, which I can't at all allow because you refused your training. You had amazing friends, but you don't trust us, and you turned your best friend and our sister away because she couldn't feel the same way. So you really had plenty of opportunities at happiness, but you've turned away from them all. You did this to yourself!"

Scar's expression darkened as he growled, latching out. "How dare you! This is all your fault!"

Mufasa's frown deepened at every word before he took a deep breath and latched out as well. "I've done everything I can to show you love, brotherly kinship, friendship and opportunity. But you sneer at me and turn away, just like everything else in life. Any neglect you feel, or conspiracy you feel is against you are only perceptions of your selfish mind. I love you Haru no matter you go by this ridiculous name. But if anyone has hurt you...it's been yourself." Mufasa seen Scar turned and start walking away. The golden prince sighed heavily as he lowered his head. "I'll always be here for you. But you need to find yourself, Scar. Before it's too late. I don't want to lose my brother."

Scar was a bit away from Mufasa but he heard what the future king said. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, You already have...

AN; Quite a bit of a emotional chapter. But what do you think?
