Hey guys it's Thursday. 9:54 for me. Here is a new chap.
Hiccup was surprised. Astrid would want to spend time with somebody like me?! Over the weekend?nah, don't get your hopes up, again shes just a friend...
"Well I have football practice on Saturday morning but after that I think tuff said he was going to have everybody over at his house to hang out."
He hoped that was a satisfactory answer. After all she would come right?
His phone buzzed and he looked at the messagecarefully.
"Oh yeah Heather told me about that... I just wanted to see if you were coming."
Hiccup felt excited? He didn't really know why. He wasn't complying that he got to spend time with his friend though.
"Yeah I was going to go there, but after that I'm really not doing anything, you know it being the first week and all."
"Yeah youre right.."
There conversation started to die out after that, because of nothing else being left to say. Hiccup didn't really know how to come up with random subjects to talk about. Especially with girls.
Hiccup told Astrid he was going to go to bed and he set down his phone. His father was literally still at work and it was like 10 PM which literally sucked. Hiccup brushed his teeth and drifted off until the next day...
The next two days, Astrid and hiccup exchanged a few normal conversations about the weekend or just things that were happening at the moment. Ruff and tuff had reminded everybody at Friday's lunch about the event. They said they had some pretty amazing things planned. Which of course everybody knew to expect something rather.. not amazing.
Hiccup woke up Saturday morning to hear his dad yelling at him from down stairs to get ready for practice. He groaned and got out of bed to put some clean clothes on.
His dad was constantly reminding him all the "good" things to do and hiccup's reply was "I know" everytime. Hiccup didn't know if he was happy and proud of him or if he was just making sure he didn't embarrass himself as a dad for having a son that sucks at football.
Hiccup wasn't terrible. He certainly wasn't the best or the fastest. But he wasn't stupid. The coaches actually put him in during some of the practice plays and he did well. Today was his last day of wearing shoulder pads then he would move on to wearing full gear every practice.
The mornings were extremely cold. Everybody's fingers were numb and hiccup wondered how anybody could catch a ball like this. It hurt to catch a fast moving ball and he probably expected to drop a lot of the ones thrown at him.
As hiccup arrived with his father to the school he headed straight for the locker room. The freshman, JV, and varsity teams all had the exact same locker room and it was very large. It also smelled horrible. It smelled like sweaty uniforms that never get washed and sweaty socks and shoes. It filled the entire locker room. It only went away once everybody put their gear on and most of the stench was dissolved.
Hiccup sat down on the Bench and started to open the lock to his locker. He was pretty early comparing to how many people were in the locker room. At least he thought he was early.
He saw some other kids hurrying up to put their gear on and hiccup wondered what they were rushing for. As he got his locker open he saw his dad running outside and he saw hiccup. His face burrowed and hiccup new something was wrong.
"Hiccup! What are you doing! Your practice has started, you are late!" Stoick yelled as he ran out of the locker room to the field.
This realization shocked hiccup and he hurried to put his gear on. He saw as a text message from Astrid appeared on his phone but he didn't have time to talk to her at the moment. He would explain later.
Hiccup hurried to put on his gear and he headed outside. He wore a sweater under his gear because of how cold it was. He had gloves on for catching but they didn't help very much.
As he jogged on to the field he heard a lot of "hiccup! Hurry up" as he went to his part of practice.
"Well well well look who finally decided to show up!" Hiccup turned his head to see Snotlout sneering at him but he quickly turned away as one the coaches told him to shut up.
"Hiccup come here!" He heard Spitelout the head coach say. Hiccup walked over to where he was standing and stood before him.
"Why are you late hiccup?"
"Me and my dad arrived late, we lost track of time because I woke up late. My bad coach." Hiccup started to walk away as he felt a hand land on his shoulder.
"Ah ah ah, you have to go run 5 laps around the entire field for being late. You start now."
Hiccup was dumbfounded because of this. Are you kidding me? Laps?! I had hardly eatena breakfast OR drank water. You have got to be joking. Hiccup thought as he started to walk away.
"Hurry up now, we can't wait forever for you hiccup!"
Hiccup at this point was annoyed and started running without saying a word. He hadn't even stretched... By the time he finished his first lap he already felt like dying... He did not want to go on...
Finally, he did actually manage to complete the laps and by that time he was allowed to take a break and rest for a couple of minutes. During those minutes, he wondered what Astrid was doing. They planned to meet at 3 Pm and it was currently 11 in the morning.
He really looked forward to seeing Astrid in person. Although they didn't have a lot of conversation, it was still nice to be around her.
Hiccup exited his thoughts and walked slowly back to his practice area.
YES I KNOW ITS A SHORT CHAPTER. However this is going to be a 3 part chapter. So stay tuned!
Currently I am feeling a little sick and I hope it goes away soon. I don't want to stay up all night writing a huge chapter if I can spread it out into chunks.
Chances I might upload tomorrow and Saturday! In the mean time, thank you for reading and remember reviewing helps!
