Unofficial Report- #11027D

(Pft. Lemillion my ass- Rabbit)
[Can someone fix this? Additional text keeps showing up in the files? Edit: 10-11]
(Good luck with that- Rabbit Edit: 10-11 3 minutes after you walked out the door.)
When she first meets him, he was with him. The other man. The one that uses her quirk. And the look in his eyes is cold and dead inside, glazed over like one of the treats he would sneak into her later. (She means a donut. My eyes were glazed over.)
But the second time. The second time they light up, bright sparks of emerald as he steps up to the glass.
"Hello there Eri-chan." He greets, and he bares his teeth, curls his lips back into an expression that she's unsure of.
"H-Hello." She mumbles back.
Because he's here to do some tests. He's here to push her past her limits, until everything around her rumbles and shakes and warps and colors and feelings jumble and mix in her head and-
"Could you tell me about yourself Eri-chan?" The man with the green eyes asks. And he leans against the glass, looking… comfortable, resting in the position instead of bearing into the glass, demanding for a result.
"I-I guess."
"Do you like ice cream?"
She hesitates. "What-…what's that?" She replies.
The expression fades, and instead his lips slip down, eyebrows furrow. She flinches as a response, ducks away from the window into her room and cowers in the corner.
"I'm sorry mister!" She shouts. "I'm sorry I don't know!"
"It's okay Eri-chan." The man replies, soft and quiet as his voice trickles into the room through the sound system. "It's okay."
"Don't dawdle. I brought you here because you said you could follow up on my research." He sweeps into the room, and like before, the bright look in mister's eyes vanishes, and his hands drop to the keyboard.
"And I told you I needed to do some looking. Eri-chan has a peculiar quirk, it's not just limited to animate, or inanimate objects like more quirks. I wanted to map out her lineage."
"It's nothing that matters."
"I'll get to work Overhaul." Mister mutters, and he walks off.
Overhaul hums, glancing back into the room. "Testing starts in ten. Get ready."
He hums while he works, but only when he's alone. It's taken her three times for her to figure that little tick out. For her to realize that he taps the window twice with his pencil when someone's coming down the hall. For her to realize that he doesn't say anything as a demand, but rather as a request with a gentle voice and a smile.
Today is one such day.
Today being a relative term. Time is something measured in moments and iterations of reassembly for her most days.
Yesterday, she thinks it was fourteen.
Fourteen times she lost control, and rewoke in the room with Overhaul's hand on her shoulder. The mister stopped it at that number, grumbling that the data was starting to get erratic.
"Miss Eri-chan." His voice is calm and gentle, like it is when he's alone in the room, working on his little clipboard and jotting things down in his notebook. "Would you please come to the slot in the door?"
She obliges, totters across the room to the slot. It flicks open, and a foil package sits inside.
She picks it up, tentative as the coldness hits her fingers.
"Unwrap it." The mister encourages.
She does, and inside is a wooden stick, something orange frozen onto it. She looks back to the window, and the mister mimes licking the item in her hand.
"It's a popsicle." He explains, "frozen flavored ice. You can lick it, or bite off pieces. Just. Be careful. It's cold." He smiles, the expression explained to her in bits and pieces, a dozen other things along with it.
It tastes tangy and sweet at the same time. Not. Terrible, but she makes a face and thrusts it away from her.
She recognizes the noise filtering through the sound system as a laugh. Overhaul does that. But this laugh is… sweeter. It's not dark and menacing. It doesn't make her feel scared. She looks to the window, and the mister is laughing quietly, shaking his head before he taps the button that triggers the speaker.
"I wasn't sure what flavor you wanted." He explains. "I'll have to try another one. Orange must not be your thing."
She doesn't really know what orange is other than a color. But she nods, smiles and nods as he gets back to work, leaving her with the slowly melting flavored ice in her hand.
His name is Rabbit.
She's not sure why. She thought it was an animal, but she also supposes Heros and Villains have strange names. How he got the name Rabbit doesn't make sense though. He doesn't jump or bounce, or have big floppy ears. He just. Works. Quietly to himself as he looks up between her and the monitor in front of him.
Conversations are usually one sided. He gives her information. Answers questions and explains terms or conditions to her. He's explained her quirk to her.
She rewinds things.
Reverses time on an object, seperates what that time has caused and reintroduced it into the present. A reversion of sort. He explains that Overhaul-Chisaki- he sometimes says- wants to use it as a weapon.
"What kind of weapon?" She asks.
He hums, taps his pencil once against the window. A signal that it's a question for later. Possibly never.
"What will happen to me?" She asks.
He glances at her, and she can't help the shiver racing down her back at his expression.
Severe. Intense. Like a predator.
Like some animal that's been cornered.
Ready to attack.
Or defend.
"Nothing." He assures. "I swear it on my life."
She doesn't know what to think about that. Overhaul is a thin man, shrouded by a thick coat and hunched over when he moves in the lab.
Rabbit isn't much different.
Thin and lean, and the attire he wears is always form fitting, affording her the opportunity to see that he's small, smaller than Overhaul. And Overhaul has lots of people that are so much bigger than him.
She doesn't think he's strong enough to make that promise true.
But she also isn't so sure with that look in his eyes.
It's. Dark. Focused. A bit scary.
"I'll keep your safe." Rabbit assures with another smile. And she mirrors it, unsure what else she could do.
She doesn't know much about him.
But she knows he likes heroes.
Or.
She assumes.
He comes in one day, perusing a file and talking to himself.
"It's nothing compared to All-Might, but if the quirk is the same…" He mutters something, walking across the room.
She learned kind of early on that when he's mumbling to himself, he likes to pace.
"And if it's the same there must be a limiting factor. Scales to body type?" He hums, and shakes his head. "No. He's exceeded that limit. Broken bones…" he trails off. "Percentaged based then. Mental limiting, nothing physically changes…maybe the body gets used to it? Have to do more research…"
"What are you working on?" She asks, and he looks up, emerald eyes blinking innocently.
He smiles.
"Nothing you need to worry about princess." He laughs. "How about I sneak you some more ice cream?"
And if the smile flickers, and fades on his lips when she agrees. She supposes it's just because it's hard to sneak something that cold in.
The world is shaking. Tearing itself apart piece by piece as the room shuffles and shrinks and changes.
She screams.
It's a response, not a conscious action, and before the air in her lungs is out, she's already wrapped up in a pair of arms, hoisted off the ground and clutched to someone's chest.
"Shhhhh. It's okay Eri-chan." And its Rabbit, pulling her out of the room and rushing down the warped hallway. "It'll be okay. I promise." He assures, and she chances a glance up, into his eyes.
His expression is grim, lips set into a grimace as he runs. He holds her tightly to his chest, one hand on her back, the other wrapped around her waist, clutching her so tight, she doesn't have to worry about falling.
"It's okay. It's okay." He repeats, and the hallway widens into a cavern.
"Rabbit!" A voice booms, and the ground shifts, and he jumps, crushing her against his chest as he dodges something she can't see. "Trying to steal my life's work!" And it's him.
It's Overhaul. It's that monster. That man.
"Trying to protect an innocent girl!" Rabbit shouts back, and he jumps to the side, the rumble of rock and dirt puncturing the ground.
"Does't matter! I'll put her back together every time!" Overhaul snarls back.
"You won't touch a hair on her head!" A new voice, frantic and determined as someone new changes into the fray.
Blonde and already bloodied, a man with a number emblazed upon his chest rushes across the room, and without a second thought, Rabbit pivots and throws her.
It's startling. Uncertain as she flies through the air, only to be caught and cradled in the other man's arms.
"I've got you." He assures, and she twists, fearful as she looks to Rabbit. To the kind man that gave her ice cream. To the person that was gentle and soft when the rest of the world was scary and hard.
"Rabbit!" She shouts.
"Get her out of here Lemillion!" Rabbit roars. "You have one job!"
Lemillion. That's the person's name. Hero's name. Because only a hero could look down at her and smile like that. And he charges back, towards a hallway she doesn't know where it leads, back into the darkness, but away from the fight.
Away from Rabbit.
But maybe to safety.
"ERI!" Her name, three letters, is drawn out in a scream.
"RUN!" Rabbit barks.
"YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE ME!"
She doesn't know what happens next.
Only that it's suddenly rumbling and the world shakes and buckles and warps and then she's on the cold ground, startled and in pain as the barest hints of light peek through the darkness around her.
She curls in on herself, hearing her breathing echoing through the darkness. IT's closing in. The darkness. Bleeding into the light. Stealing it away.
Her breathing gets louder. Echoing in the earthen shell.
Where's Lemillion? Where's Rabbit? What happened?
A hiccup escapes her throat, but she smothers the next.
He hates the noise.
He calls it useless.
He calls it stupid.
Another hiccup escapes and she clamps her hands over her mouth.
Where's Rabbit?
He said he would protect her.
He said he would keep her safe.
Her rock tomb shutters, shakes before fingers tear into the holes, heaving. And with a flash of yellow lightning and a flicker of darkness, the threat of the tomb disappears.
And she's greeted by the hero.
And Overhaul, bearing down on him with the handgun.
"You're done." Overhaul snarls it.
"MOVE BITCH!" And Rabbit's in the way, shoving Lemillion one way as the gun goes off. She sees it. Sees it punch through the black trousers Rabbit always wears, blood on both sides.
He staggers, then surges forward, tackling Overhaul as Lemillion takes a step back to her.
"I said get her out of here Lemillion!" Rabbit roars, and there's something in his eyes that's even scarier than Overhaul. Something in his expression that makes her more scare of what he will do than what Overhaul can.
The hero scoops her up, running again.
"YOU WON'T GET AWAY!"
"You touch a hair on her head and I will break your down molecule by molecule!" Rabbit snarls back, and how Lemillion is holding her allows her to look back, to see Overhual shift, hand scraping the ground.
A spike of rock lance through Rabbit's legs.
And another coming for them.
She screams.
And Lemillion turns, twists just slightly to see what the issue is.
And then she's dropped onto the ground, hard and unforgiving as he takes the attack. He staggers, the stalactite through his side. He wheezes, blinking once or twice as his hands fumble around the spike.
He grabs it, then raises a fist, smashing through it with a snarl.
"Rabbit!" He roars the name, and she flinches away.
And another gunshot punctures the air, and Lemillion staggers, jerks just as Rabbit appears, shaking and limping along. No. Not shaking. He's being dragged, lazily across the uneven ground as Overhaul makes his way across the cavern, gun in one hand, her unconscious savior in the other.
And she screams again, something unintelligible and raw coming out of her throat. Something that she's not sure how to describe other than- fear.
Lemillion drops to his knees. Mouth agape as something leaves him. Something she doesn't understand, but it's like the-the strength bleeds out of him.
Rabbit tilts his head towards her, emerald eyes alight despite the dark red oozing out of his body. He smiles, expression tense as he fumbles, one hand fumbling for his pockets.
"I'm stealing it." Rabbit wheezes, without context or explanation as he pulls something from his pocket.
She recognizes the shape, but not the purpose. And the shape is memory, memory of the shape, of the feel of the needle plunging into her veins over and over again. Of blood being pulled from her body, of drugs being injected into her system. Of darkness overwhelming her every time.
In this case. Rabbit does the opposite. He slams the syringe into his leg, presses the plunger down.
And nothing happens.
Overhaul throws him across the room, into the dirt by Lemillion.
"Hold him off." Rabbit murmurs. And Lemillion shakily stands, one hand on his thigh, the other on his side.
"You took it." Lemillion mutters, quiet and confused.
"Shut up. And fend him off." Rabbit snarls, a crackle of energy rolling off him. He grits his teeth suddenly, wincing. "Eight percent maybe?"
"You took it!" Lemillion hisses, staggering to his feet. But if that comment seems to affect Rabbit, then the later doesn't care.
"And I'll take it from everyone else in the world too!" Overhaul chuckles. "And I'll revert it all to how it should be. Take away all the Quirks. Level the world. Start it anew. Take away the filth and the depravity of this society!"
Rabbit snorts, shaking his head.
Lemillion rushes forward, to Overhaul.
And she.
Watches.
Shaken.
Amazed.
Uncertain.
Fearful.
Awestruck.
Because he's not using his quirk.
He's not using the strength that broken through the stone. He's not phasing through attacks with a twist or a flex. He's dodging.
Ducking.
Weaving through blow after blow, twisting around attack after attack and.
He's fighting.
Plainly, with blood and muscle and bone.
With his life on the line.
Until he's not.
Until the blood loss catches up to him and he goes down, drops to a knee as a new shard of earthen death lances through his leg. He crumples over it, awkward and with a howl of pain.
"DETROIT!"
And for a moment she's scared, because the roared word is louder than anything else she's ever heard, and it's accompanied by a boom and a flash and the shattering of rock and compounding of dirt.
And Rabbit's flying across the room, green electricity trailing behind him as he swings, one glowing fist smashing into Overhaul's face.
"SMASSHHHHHH!"
And with a cloud of dust and a audible pop, crackle, bang, Overhaul disappears. Flys across the cavern and smashes into the far wall. Rabbit staggers, lands on his feet and shakes his arm out.
"17% is apparently too much." He grumbles, flexing fingers. "Get up Lemillion."
The hero shakes, struggles until Rabbit joins him, and with another crackle of energy, the rock pinning him in place shatters.
"You stole it." Lemillion breathes.
"You lost it." Rabbit replies. "Now get Eri out of here. I'll deal with Overhaul."
And just like that, like some unseen trigger, that was all it took. And a roar of anger bursts through the room, sends her shuffling her feet back. She knows the voice. Knows the owner.
Knows that if she's caught when he's like that, he'll disassemble her just for fun. And she'll wake up over and over and over again anew. Dazed and confused and and…. Off.
"You-"
"I SAID SAVE HER!" Rabbit roars, heaves the hero, whose taller than him now that she sees them side by side, off the ground and throws him at her.
Lemillion stumbles, staggers once, then swallows. "Hero." He mutters, and he bends down, wraps her up in his thick red cloak and smiles at her. "I'm here to save you." He says, voice hollow, tentative as Rabbit rushes away.
"O-Okay." She murmurs digging her fingers in as Rabbit rushes off to fight, and he rushes back down a hallway. To save her.
To free her from that man.
That monster.
"He stole it." Lemillion mutters. "Right out of my hands… and I… couldn't save anyone…"
She squeezes, pats his chest because the look he's got right now is distinct. Almost like he can't see her. "But you saved me!" She smiles.
He glances down, smiles. "Always." He sounds like he means it.
"Always." He reiterates as the cavern shakes, the hallway buckles. He shields her from the dust with his cape and keeps running towards her freedom.
[Stole what? Reports include that Overhaul used a quirk-erasing weapon, and that Lemillion was affected by that. So what did Rabbit steal? Also, this report contains the first mention of Rabbit utilizing his quirk. Perhaps a strength enhancer?]
(Those aren't questions you're ready to hear the answers for. – Rabbit)
