I woke up to the feeling of something soft rubbing against my body, nuzzling my face and chest.
"Orinthia?" I asked, making sure it was her and not another enemy. Sure, it was her, but it was the first time I saw her behave like this.
"Don't stop me, Felix. I'm glad you're safe!" She paused and said, before continuing to nuzzle me again. It was uncomfortable but felt good at the same time. But her words didn't make sense. Was I attacked while sleeping? From whom? She was with me, wasn't she?
"Okay, calm down, Rin. What are you talking about?"
"You – You don't want to know, Felix." She finally let go of me and said, turning to face the other way.
I looked at the sky. It seemed like only the beginning of dawn. Did one night at my house change her sleeping habits too? But she didn't answer my question yet, I needed to solve her riddle. I gently grabbed her shoulder.
"Orinthia, please tell me. I won't judge you." I tried to sound assuring. It sure didn't seem like she was trying to molest me, then what was she so hesitant about? She finally spoke up,
"I had this strange dream where I hurt you, Felix." She became sadder with each word spoken. I thought she was done, but then she added, "I killed you in the dream, Felix. Then I woke up and saw you safe. I couldn't contain myself, Felix. Forgive me." She was looking at the ground again, as she does when she's upset.
I wanted to laugh. That was all? We have strange dreams all the time, in the end they amount to nothing. I once had a dream where I was sentenced to death and couldn't be any happier when I woke up and found myself in my bed, safe and sound. Maybe Orinthia wasn't used to strange dreams. I tried to comfort her,
"Well, if that's all, then cheer up! They don't really mean anything, you know. You'll be shocked if I told you about the kind of dreams I have, Orinthia." I tried to assure her, but it took the conversation to the wrong direction.
"What kind of dreams, Felix?" She finally looked at me and asked. Now that was troublesome. Should I tell her about the times when I dreamed about torturing a Delcatty? Or what about the time when I was being chased by some kind of Pokemon I couldn't identify? I decided to just shrug it off, "A lot of weird dreams, Orinthia; some of them were also about killing others, but they're fine and I didn't end up becoming a killer. Dreams are just that, Rin, they don't affect reality."
It seemed to work, as she seemed to have calmed down, but not fully. She was still hesitating, as if she wanted to tell me something. She finally opened up again, "Felix, is it okay if I don't take you to the cave?"
Now she was talking in riddles again. What did the cave have anything to do with the dreams and such? But I didn't want to push her. I could just buy some Poke Balls from the mart I used to work at. I smiled, "It's okay. But can you tell me why?"
"No, not right now, Felix." She sounded firm in her opinion.
"No problem, Rin. It's entirely up to you. How about going back to sleep? It's not even morning yet." Although I wasn't feeling sleepy anymore, I didn't want to disrupt her sleeping habits. Maybe a little more sleep would help her calm down as well.
"Only if you hold me while I sleep, Felix." She grinned. She was returning to her normal self again and that's all I wanted to see. I pulled her closer.
It didn't take long for her to fall back asleep again, but I couldn't relax.
Just what did she have to hide?
