Chapter 13: Madison's point of view

Thomas had been acting weird since we got back from Friday's. He would miss what I was saying and had an obsession with texting John Laurens, someone we hated since middle school because his hair was lighter and softer and ours was dark and rough. "Tommy, come on. Get off your phone!" I said to him. "Fine. What are you gonna put on?" He said, setting down his phone. "Clouds! It's a new movie on Disney+!" I said smiling at him. "Ok…" He sighed, pulling me in closer. I could tell he was constantly checking his phone, looking for a text from John. "I'm gonna go down to the gas station to get some more food, ok?" He said to me while closing the fridge door. "Ok, I'll pause the movie." I said, as he grabbed a sweatshirt. "I love you." He said kissing my forehead. "Love you too." I said and smiled. Instead of staying home, I decided to follow him, waiting about 2 minutes until leaving the hall. I walked out to see him right in the hallway, talking to some guy. This guy wasn't John, this guy had brown hair and a small mustache and beard. I saw the guy smiling, but only Tommy was blushing. Then Tommy kissed him! The guy pulled back, thankfully, and walked away. Then I saw Tommy walk to the elevator and go to his car. I really couldn't believe this! I ran back to the room and tried to process this. How could someone I've been together with since FRESHMAN YEAR of HIGHSCHOOL kiss someone who is probably new? I decided to call my friend, Aaron Burr. (UH YEAH I DID JUST DO THAT-).

"Hey, what's up?" He said as he answered.

"Ok there is no easy way to say this bu-"

"SPILL PLEASE!"

"I was about to, then you rudely interrupted me. But anyways, Thomas kissed someone."

"He did WHAT?!"

"Yeah."

"OH THAT LITTLE-"

"Aaron, chill. I'll deal with it when he gets back. But when something goes wrong, you will need to get here quickly, ok?"

"Ok. I'll talk to you later. Theodosia is pulling my sleeve because she wants to watch a movie."

"Ok, bye." And then he hung up. I was just so nervous about confronting him. I mean, what if he left me for that guy?
