Okay, I've changed their ages to be 16, not 15. Doesn't make sense now but it will towards the end of the story. I'd also love to hear your guy's thoughts on the story thus far. Sorry for crappy reactions, I really got bored writing this and wanted to write the next one.
"What was that thing you were talking about?" Melody asked as they walked towards Science class.
"In the cafe?" she asked, Melody nodding."Oh just asking about my birthday next week."
"Oh happy early birthday," she said.
Emma smiled."Thanks but I was asking if we could go ice skating."
"Oh," Melody said, her voice a beat sadder.
Emma raised an eyebrow why she sounded so sad, suddenly hitting her."Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you can't-"
"No no it's fine," she assured her." Believe me, I'm used to it. But I'd love to come."
"Great," she squealed.
The screen switched to the ice skating rink."I can't believe you've never ice skated Sale," Alaina said, lacing up her skates.
"I'm not into sports," she said, struggling to tie her laces.
"Ow!" Hugo screeched, falling the second he attempted to stand.
"You really don't have good balance," Iris stated.
"Hey!" Hugo shouted.
"You okay Hugo," Alaina asked in a sigh.
"This is impossible," he groaned, struggling to stand up.
"Just as bad as your mom," Adrien said, pulling his son up with ease.
"I am not bad!" Marinette shouted.
"Yes you are," Adrien said simply.
"Is that why she isn't skating?" Salem asked, holding onto Alaina so she could stand.
Adrien nodded. Marinette had stayed back at the house since Louis had a cold, and he'd gone to supervise though they didn't need it.
"Got it Sale?" Alaina asked, letting go of her friend.
Salem waved her arms around for a moment, eventually finding she was stable." I'm... who's that?" she asked pointing onto the rink where an 18-year-old girl donning wavy brown hair and deep chestnut eyes was performing perfectly.
"That chicks good," Alix said.
"I dunno but she's good," Alaina said.
"Who?" Melody asked, having just had arrived.
"That girl," she said pointing out onto the rink.
"She is good," Melody said, looking around."Where's Emma, I thought you attended your own party?"
"I can tell she hasn't been to a lot of party's," Alya said, originally as a joke but quickly turned sad.
"Think she's in the bathroom, come on Sale, let's get you stable," she said, pulling her red head of a friend onto the ice.
Leaning against the railing, Melody watched as Alaina performed surprisingly well and Salem failed over and over.
"There such sweet friends," Mylene said.
"You're here," a familiar voice said from beside her.
Turning with a puzzled expression, Melody was surprised to see Carmine beside her."What are you doing here?"
"This is gonna be good," Alya said, referring to the drama.
"My sister likes to come here to practice and sadly I had to come." turning to where he was pointing, her eyes fell on the brown-haired skater from before.
"That's you sister?" she asked.
"Sports runs in the families," Alix mumbled.
"Yes," he sighed."What are you, someone who can't even skate doing here?"
Kagami frowned, not enjoying seeing her future daughter made fun of.
"Friend's party," she frowned, watching as the two laughed, Amber, joining them.
"Mhmm," he hummed in perfect tune."I'd think you'd spend more time working on our skills rather than standing here, moping on what you can't do."
"Excuse me?" she asked. To both teen's dismay, they'd been paired up to be partners."Fencing is for fun, it isn't my career."
"God, what's this kid's deal?" Alya asked.
"You say it's fun yet there is no enjoyment whilst you are." he stated."Explain that."
"I-" Melody frowned, angered."Stop putting words in my mouth."
Carmine smiled, turning towards the rink.
"If you're so into training then what are you doing here?"
"You think I want to be here?" he asked."No, Amara forced me to come. I have no interest in skating."
"Shocker," she muttered.
"You have siblings?" he asked.
"Uh ya, a younger brother, really annoying."
"I can agree," Nino sighed, thinking of his annoying younger brother.
"Does he fence?" he asked.
"That kid doesn't look like he could pick up a five-pound weight," Kim laughed.
"Liam? No, he's a music geek like my dad, my mom, and I..." she stopped, smiling disappearing.
The room grew quiet, an uncomfortable silence.
Carmine turned at her, frown on his face."Your last name, it's Couffaine, no?"
"Ya it is," she said, eyebrow raised."How would you-"
"Your mom worked at the academy." he stated." I've been here since I was six, I recognize the name," he explained.
"Oh," she said, biting her lip.
"I'm sorry," he said.
"He's sweet," Rose said, enjoying seeing that Carmine had a sweeter side.
"They always say that," she sighed.
Adrien frowned, recalling her eight-year-old selves thing against people apologizing for her mother's death.
"Pardon?"
"Nothing."
"Hey, Mel I-" Emma stopped, not recognizing Carmine."Who's this?"
"No one," Carmine answered, walking past Melody." You better get to work, no legs," he whispered on the way by.
"This kids weird," Alix said, unable to figure out if he's mean or not.
Melody groaned, fist tightening."Sooo... who was he?"
"No one," she stated.
"He's cute though I never pictured you as the guy crazy type," Emma said.
"Do I sense a blooming love?" Alya asked, Kagami frowning though still shocked, thinking no way.
"What!" she shrieked, unable to believe she'd assume such a thing."No, he's just some jerk I fence with."
"Hah!"Alix chuckled.
"Whatever you say, Mel," Emma smiled, placing her arm around her friend.
"So are they friends or not?" Alya asked.
"More of a rivalry thing," Hugo explained.
