I lifted my head and yawned, it's been two whole days since Raon had told me about where he truly came from. Even now, it was a tiny bit hard to believe him, but I still did. The Houndour was snuggled up in my fur, like nothing has changed, and nothing really changed at all. All that did, was now I knew that Raon has the mind of a human, not a Houndour, so for all I know is that Houndour and Houndoom were still just savages. Though, should I start treating him as a pup, or a human?
How old was Raon when he was a human? Well, I said I'd still take care of him, so maybe I'll just treat him like I've been treating him.
The Houndour opened his eyes and yawned, "good morning Scarlet," he greeted, "morning Raon," I said. The pup buried himself even deeper into my fur, then looked up at me, "are we waiting for Sound to wake up?" I nodded, "yes we are, albeit we might be splitting off from him today, since he'll likely head into the city I told you about." Raon's ears fell for a second, I was quick to catch though, "don't worry Raon, someday we will meet him again." That chance of meeting him again was very, very small.
Despite that, it made Raon smile a bit, "now Raon, can you answer this one question about yourself?" he tilted his head, "I'm all ears," he then directed his ears at me. The Houndour had that look of anticipation, "how old were you when you were a human?" I asked, the pup answered almost immediately, "I just turned 16 before I ended up in this world." so he was a teenager, or in other words, a kid.
Raon lifted his head, "why do you want to know?" he had a curious look in his eyes, "I was just asking, in case you'd rather be treated like you were when you were human." the Houndour shook his head, "I'd rather you just treat me the same as you always had," he said. Well, that confirmed how I was going to treat him, except this time I won't try to dumb things down for him. Raon wasn't a genius, but I doubt I needed to make things super simple like I would, if I was dealing with a young Vulpix.
Raon's POV=
Sound woke up after we had our conversation, so we dropped it after.
Scarlet still kept eying me when we ate, did she want to know more about me? I had my past for so long, that she likely thought I still had more to hide. Other than some of the details about my world that I had forgotten to tell her, there wasn't much to tell her. Aside from me acting like a kid more often, my personality was still basically the same right?
Did I change a bit after becoming a Houndour? I was a bit more outgoing than usual, that had to be it. Maybe it was due to how Houndour might act pretty similar to how most dogs act, and dogs usually aren't super nervous when meeting new people. After my bowl was empty, Scarlet picked me up, and laid me in front of her, "Scarlet what are you doing?" the Ninetales didn't answer, and just started licking me.
"Scarlet?" she still didn't answer, "Scarlet?" I didn't mind being licked, she had done it before. Mostly when we were about to sleep and after we said "goodnight" to each other, but she was doing more than that one lick. I was confused, "you needed some grooming," Scarlet said after she had stopped, "wha?"
"Have you noticed how soft my fur is?" I nodded, "well, it's because Vulpix and Ninetales take some pride in having clean fur. I think the cleaner and more healthy it is, the softer it is." that does sound about right, usually if I didn't get my dog groomed her fur was a bit rough. Scarlet then licked me on the forehead like she had always had, "and you head some tangle fur from what I could tell, so I might as well have groomed you anyways right?"
Sound got up after eating and collected our bowls, "alright you two, let's get moving," he said, we both barked and got up to follow him. Just like a pair of dogs, well, a fox and a dog. As we walked along, I noticed that my nose was kind of dry. Was that normal? Given I was a Fire Type it might've made sense. Though, that could also mean I was sick. If the anatomy of Houndour was the same as an average dog, then I might be coming down with something.
Once we had reached a fork in the road, Sound sighed, "so, I guess this is where we split?" Scarlet nodded, "Raon, I recommend saying goodbye to him now."
Scarlet's POV=
Raon went over to the trainer and rubbed up against his legs, "hey bud don't worry," said Sound, "it's a big world, but I know we'll meet again some day." he said with a smile. Raon licked the human's hand, before going to my side. Sound patted me on the head, "you two take care of yourselves alright?" we both barked, and Sound started off on his way.
We went down the other path, Raon was doing better than I thought with him splitting up from Sound. If he wanted, we could've just become Sound's Pokemon, it'd help with training Raon, so I would've been fine with getting yet another trainer.
Then I eyed Raon again, his walk was a bit slower than it had been, and his breathing seemed like it was stuffed up.
Raon's POV=
It was a bit harder to breathe with a stuffed up nose, so I had to split my focus on walking and making sure I got enough air. Scarlet walked in front of me and sat down, "are you feeling okay?" I nodded, "my nose is just stuffed," Scarlet sighed, "if you had a cold it'd be a bit harder to tell given your typing, but let me ask you this," she stopped for a second, "are you feeling more tired than usual?"
I felt like I was about to collapse and slee when she asked that, "yeah," Scarlet nodded, "yup, you're definitely sick," she picked me up by the scruff, "first we're finding a cave for you to rest in. then I will go and get stuff to ease your cold."
