Ch 11

"Bella..."

"Hello, Jenny..." Bella said quietly. She watched Jenny, looking for any signs of running. "I understand that you don't like me... And I know why..."

"What do you know? You would call him and he would go running. Even if he didn't run to you, he still ran and it wasn't to me. He told me out right that he didn't want me as his imprint because he was in love with you and thought he could get you to change your mind... We all saw how well that went..." Jenny stated not caring who heard.

Jake's wolf whined on the inside. He still felt guilty for what he did and he was trying to make things right. But hearing what he did to her from her own mouth hurt. He held Jenny to him and rubbed his nose on her head.

"I'm sorry Jenny... It was never my intention of making Jake do anything like that. If it makes you feel any better... I did punch him in the face once in hopes of getting him to understand that I didn't like him like that and sprained my hand..." Bella tried to joke around. Jenny held her ground though.

"No it doesn't make me feel any better... That fact that you had to, after stringing him along... That's messed up. And then for you to beg him to kiss you so he wouldn't fight on your behalf... And yes I do know about it. Paul and Sam always kept me updated despite me not wanting to know..." Jenny said, telling everyone what had happened before Jake entered in on the newborn army war. "It was you that continued to string him along. It was you that I got compared with. Kind. Thoughtful. Clumsy. Someone who needed saving. It was you, who wasn't me." She took a breath before closing her eyes and shaking her head not letting anyone else talk.

"It's not all your fault either, I'll grant you that... And I'm still trying to figure out what you have, that he wants. Jake followed you like a lost puppy any time you were near. It was him that continued going back to you even though you told him no time and time again. But what else did he have? Someone he knew versus a girl he barely glanced at. So excuse me for not liking you at the moment... Jake is trying to get on my good side and with you here... It's brought up some questioning whether if you call... Will he go? I'm sorry for being... Jealous, petty, whatever you want to call it, but I'm insecure and can't help but wonder... Now if you'll excuse me... I'm tired." Jenny finished, dancing away from Jake's hold and wandered up the stairs to the room that was graciously given to her til the threat was taken care of.

Jenny finally let the tears fall gently down her cheeks as she sat on the bed. A headache was forming and she wanted peace and quiet. Kicking off her shoes, she curled up on the bed, hugging a pillow to her chest.

Downstairs, Jake and Bella both kept their head down as they thought about how things went wrong for the both of them. Bella, calling out for Jake and using him as a crutch til Edward came back, making Jake form an attachment to her. Jake, already having a crush on the now vampire girl, continuously going after her even though she was taken and would let it known that she didn't like him like that. Jake never should've pushed the imprint pull away from him, he should've never compared Jenny to Bella. She was more than what she claimed Bella to be. She did need saving even though it was thanks to him who got her in trouble.

"It wouldn't hurt for you to go after her now, Jacob..." Bella told him with a small grimacing smile. Jake only nodded before jogging his way up to the bedroom. Thankfully Jenny left the door open. He slid into the room, closing the door behind him. Jenny turned and looked at him before turning back to face the wall. Jake came up behind her and snuggled with her, his arm wrapping around her waist.

"Jake... You do know I love you right?" Jenny whispered.

"I know, Jenny... Do you know that I love you too?" Jake asked back.

"I know that now. Thank you for staying me... I know the wolf is itching to get out and go vamp hunting," Jenny said with a yawn,

"Anything to keep you safe. Besides, Sam and Paul are covering for me until tomorrow."

"If those two get hurt... If you get hurt-"

"Nothing will happen to us, Jenny. We did it before, we can do it again. It's what we were made for."

"But still... I don't want anyone hurt."

"I'm not superman..."

"No you're not... You're Jake... My Jake."

"Yes I am." Jake kissed Jenny's head as she closed her eyes to rest. She let out a lot off her chest and it tired her out. Having to hold it in for years and then finally letting it out must've been exhausting. Who said that holding a grudge wasn't tiring? Even he knew it was. Thankfully he let it go and working on redeeming himself. He kissed Jenny's head one more time before closing his own eyes for small nap.

Jenny woke up to low voices filtering up from the floor below. Jake was no where to be found. A scent of alfredo sauce floated into the room making her stomach growl. She blushed as she knew everyone heard it. She sat up and fixed her hair and then slid off the bed, sliding her shoes on on the way to standing. Once she thought she was ready, she headed down the stairs.

Jake and Emmett were playing their game again, trying not to cuss as Esme did not like that kind of language in her house. Bella and Edward were watching silently. Jenny looked around for everyone else. Alice and Jasper sat on a tree branch outside, above the porch. Esme and Carlisle were in the kitchen cooking, having fun, throwing stuff at each other, cleaning it up before it even hit the floor.

A woman with blonde hair up in a braided bun came walking in where a blue and dirtied blue jean jump suit. Grease stains and oil stains evident on Jenny's out loud comment, "I wonder what kind of car she was working on."

"A very expensive Hummer Jeep that my husband keeps on going mud riding it and breaking the axel on it," the woman said with a minor glare before going up the stairs and disappearing into a room.

"Rosalie doesn't mind it seeing as it gets her out of the house and she can work on cars," Emmett said from the couch. Jenny shrugged, "Do you what you love and keep yourself happy. I'm good with my number and I like going over books and keeping things under budget."

"So an accountant?" Esme asked gently, making two plates of shrimp alfredo with broccoli mixed in. Carlisle was already cleaning up pots and pans behind her.

"Yeah. Majored in accounting and minored in pediatric nursing... I should be getting my certificate in the mail soon," Jenny stated, surprising Jake.

"Like a kid nurse?" Jake asked.

"Yeah. Ages ranging from newborns to 18 years of age. Since I'm an accountant for the shop down at the reservation, I can do the books at home, if I wanted to, I could find a clinic near by and work with doctors until I decide that I want to become a full doctor, which if I did.. I probably would stay a nurse and work my way into the NICU floor. If I can help babies in anyway, I will. I love children despite what people think of me..." Jenny rambled. Jake chuckled at her rambling, giving him an idea to present once things were really smoothed over with her.

"I think it's a great idea. I know Fork's Community hospital is always looking for new people, I could give them a recommendation, if you ever decide to follow that path," Carlisle said with a smile.

"Thank you..."

"We made some shrimp alfredo for you and Jake," Esme said as she placed the plates on the kitchen table.

"Thank you..." Jenny said again, her stomach growling again as well.

"YES!" Emmett yelled out. Jake groaned and rubbed his face before placing the remote on the couch and headed to Jenny and the kitchen table. Both sat down and ate as Emmett placed against Edward this time. Jenny spoke her peace and forgave everyone in the mess that created Jake to push her away and sighed. Pushing her plate away, she looked to Bella who watched Edward win the round with Emmett.

"Bella?..."

Bella looked to Jenny, "Yeah?"

"I'm sorry for how I acted and know that I forgive you... For Jake's sake... I'll try to be friends... Just... Just give me time," Jenny pleaded quietly, making everyone pause. Bella slightly smiled.

"Thank you, Jenny... And I will."
