lightningbolt1423: yea i made her female because i was having difficulties coming up with a good male dragons name that didn't either seem cliché or that sounded lame, i enjoy when i read about dragon's being named after something they resemble like Kokuen is Japanese for graphite(at least by google translate). For Silver's nickname I wanted something that was close to what Gilda thought he was and with being a prodigy at aerial combat sky reaper seemed to work well. I always appreciate the review and I'm happy to see the story get more views. Everyone waiting for the next update know that you are appreciated and I'm rambling anyway as always Stay Awesome:).

Filler: takes place after discord is sealed away by the elements. The mane six as well as a few others will all be close in age and height consisting of Twilight age 19 5'7, Rarity age 21 5'6, Rainbow Dash age 18 5'5, AppleJack age 20 5'9, Pinkie Pie age 19 5'4, and Fluttershy age 22 5'7, Gilda age 19 5'8, Silver age 220 6'8, Spitfire age 23 5'9.

Chapter 14: The Curriculum

*Recap*

Not answering her vocally Silver levitated Spike to where he was in the seat next to the mare, giving him a curious look they noticed the stallion turn to the side as he lowered his wing and revealed what caused both Twilight and Spike to gasp in surprise as they saw another dragon, as they were looking at the dark red baby dragon Silver decided to speak.

"Twilight, Spike meet Ruby. Ruby meet Twilight and Spike" Silver said as he pointed a hoof to the owner of the names respectively.

"Where did you get him?" Twilight asked as she looked at the stallion but lightly flinched at the look she received.

"Her name is Ruby, and I heard a voice and found a cave that had an elder dragon who when took over the cave found the egg and said that it was waiting for a certain being which was me as we later found out" Silver said as he corrected the mare of Rubies name and gender.

*Present*

Getting the looks to explain from the only other pony dragon pair Silver began to retell the story he gave them a brief explanation of. The two were shocked to hear there was a elder dragon who was not aggressive to him, in general and only attacked when they felt what his intent was the first time, holding their questions until they knew the stallion was done they continued to listen intently as to what happened in the cave and were even more shocked when they heard and saw the changes that had happened to the stallion seeing as he now had the eyes similar to a dragon which granted him with better night vision then he previously had, better hearing and a sense of smell unchallenged by any other creature, as well as seeing his scale covered feathers the pair were surprised that such a thing could happen but were simply told it can only happen if the elder dragon wishes to give some pony or other being a gift and that the dragon decides what to give it ranging from various different things.

After Silver finished telling the pair about the situation at hoof, the pair were in silence as they processed what the stallion had just said. At first the two were skeptical because of the fact that they have not heard about one nice dragon aside from Spike but seeing as he was still a baby in the eyes of his species he didn't technically count. But they were also putting into consideration that it was Silver that told them and he was not a pony to make things up let alone Rudy occasionally nodding at what he said pushed them more towards the case that he was telling them the honest truth as to what happened.

"What i would need your help with is to help teach Ruby up to the point of where she is out of the mental stage of a hatchling seeing as her body is that of a dragon about the age of Spike if not a bit older" Silver said as he looked at the pair before he added "plus it would give Spike a chance to be around another dragon and would give you the chance to see how they interact when they are young" Silver said as if to lean her more towards helping him seeing as she was more experienced with teaching a dragon and he only knew about the dragons from the knowledge he gained from Kokuen.

"Alright fine but don't think you are just going to be able to drop her off here any time you please" Twilight said after a couple minutes of thinking over his proposition and making a pro/con list which was as followed, Pro: she could teach a new mind, learn how young dragons interact, study a dragon that was a different gender and what seemed like a different type of dragon, help a friend out even if they weren't close friends. Cons: it would take her away from her books and that was as far as she was able to get before she was coming up with blanks for more than just that.

"Never planned to just drop her off, seeing as Ruby was waiting for me it only seems right that i lend a hoof where i can in helping teach her to interact with others as well as showing her around just so ponies can see the new addition to the town" Silver said as he looked at the mare as she was almost imitating a fish as she had her mouth open with a slight "oh" since he guessed she wasn't expecting him to answer that way.

"Are you wanting to start her lessons now or wait until she is more settled in seeing as she hasn't left your back since you got here" Twilight said as she looked between the other pony dragon pair.

"It would probably be best if we waited until she was settled a bit more before starting her lessons" Silver said as the mare nodded at the choice seeing as that would give her time to gather the required books and other things that she would need to help the young dragon.

Once everything was decided Silver bid them a farewell as he and Ruby made their way around town so she could see the various different places and the ponies that stayed here as well as try the different foods. Silver was glad to see that Ruby didn't need to have gems with every meal since from what he learned there were some dragon's that could be extremely picky, he was glad that he got lucky with a more open minded dragon when it came to food then again she was still a hatchling in a sense.

As they were walking through ponyville Silver noticed that he was near the school, deciding to pay Cheerilee a visit and to show her Ruby. Making his way through the hallway towards the door that he knew was Cheerilee's, after he reached the door he gave it a couple of knocks which resulted in her opening the door and quickly ushering him in since the foals and colts seemed to enjoy the stallion's company when he last visited. Making his way into the room full of young ponies as Cheerilee took her place near her desk, Silver decided to greet the class before he introduced a guest.

"Good afternoon class, have you been listening to Miss Cheerilee" Silver asked as he looked around the room before he heard the class say together "yes Mr Shade".

"I am glad to hear that because i brought a special guest for you all to meet, but i must ask you don't surround her as she is a bit shy when meeting new ponies" Silver said as he looked around at the different young onesies seeing them all nod their understanding, and looking towards Cheerilee he could see her curiosity grow by the second.

When he was assured that the class would behave, he turned to the side and lowered both of his wings, to reveal the curious looking Ruby. her head was going from the various different small ponies in the room until she looked at the only other grown pony in the room. A split second after the class and Cheerilee got a good look at their special guest there was an audible squeal that came from the foals of the class with one being slightly higher in pitch which came from the mare near her desk.

"Class this is Ruby she is a recently hatched dragon as you can see, now if you all want to introduce yourself to her i ask that no more than 3 come up at a time" Silver said after the various squeals had ended allowing him to talk.

A good 10 minutes came by with the ponies of the class coming to introduce themselves to the small dragon that was on the stallion's back, soon enough there were only 3 left unintroduced that started walking up to the stallion/ dragon pair. The last 3 were the only ones in the class that he knew by name.

Once the three made their way to them they normally introduced themselves as Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Applebloom. After they introduced themselves Ruby did something that apparently no pony was expecting she leaned closer to the three foals and nuzzled their cheeks for a few seconds before going to the next. Upon seeing this one foal in particular did not like that the once blank flank got special attention from the dragon and not her.

"Why does those three blank flanks get special treatment i demand i get shown special treatment" a pink coated foal with a white and purple mane and tail that had a cutie mark in the same shape as the tiara that she wore atop her head, said as she walked to where the dragon was.

Silver hearing her comment stood to his full height as the foal was making her way to them as he waited to see what she would do now. Once she got to him while slightly pushing her way in between the 3 foals that got the special attention according to her. As she was looking at the larger stallion not sure if she made the right choice but figured she couldn't go back on her words now.

"I demand that you let me have the dragon" Diamond Tiara said as she gave her fiercest glare to the stallion which wasn't that bad for him.

"Oh you demand it do you, and what if that doesn't work then" Silver asked as he looked at the foal.

"If you don't then i will have my daddy ruin you and make it to where you can't find a job here" Diamond Tiara said as she started smiling thinking that he was like the rest. But she received an answer that she was not expecting, the stallion just laughed.

"Look small one i don't know who your daddy is but trust me when i say this he can't do anything to me, so be a good little foal and stop acting like a spoiled filly and take your seat" Silver said as he gave the smaller foal a look that gave her no room to demand anything else from the stallion.

When that was all over Silver bid the rest of the class a good day as well as Cheerilee as he made his way out of the school. Once fully out of the school he shook his head at how spoiled that little foal was and started to make his way to Sweet Apple Acres, seeing as it was around the time he gave Granny Smith a visit as he promised all that time ago as well as buy some more Zap apple jam seeing as he was down to the bottom of the jar.

As he walked down the large dirt road he noticed that in the distance that he could see the gate to the farm. Another couple minutes passed as he made his way through the gate and started heading for the porch where he knew the older mare would be at. True to his words there in the rocking chair was none other than Granny Smith herself, clearing his throat lightly so not to scare the older pony.

"Can't ya see i was 'ere nappin" Granny Smith said as she looked to where the sound came from to see the larger stallion that helped her in their time of need as well as straightened out her grandson.

"Hey Granny how is it going, sorry if i interrupted your nap" Silver said as he greeted the kind hearted mare.

"Ah its you biggen' I reckon ah been good, and it's alright seeing as i did tell y'all to visit" Granny Smith said as she looked at the stallion, and noticed he had a different color on his back.

Seeing her notice the small figure on his back Silver turned to the side so the mare could get a better look before he introduced them "Granny this is Ruby, Ruby this is the ever kind Granny Smith" Silver said as he heard a light chuckle from the older mare.

"I reckon if I was 40 years younger ah woulda gone after ya" Granny Smith said in a mix of jokingly but seriously that Silver had given up on trying to figure out which one it was more of.

"I came by to also buy some more of that Zap Apple jam you make seeing as I am running low, and I was wondering if you have any of those delicious blueberry apple pies for sale," Silver said as he saw the mare gain a proud look at the mention of her pies.

"I just made half a dozen this morning and how many jars y'all need?" Granny Smith asked as she smiled at the praise of her pies.

"2 pies and 6 jars of the zap apple jam, don't know how you make both but it would seem I'm addicted to them" Silver said as he looked at the mare as she stuck her head in the doorway before she hollered inside. "Can one of y'all bring me 2 of my pies and 6 jars of Zap apple jam on the double" Granny yelled inside while getting a "kay" in response.

As the pair waited they began to talk about the various things that have occurred, Granny asking about how he got the little dragon and him asking how the farm has been doing. They were broken from their conversation when the squeak from the door alerted the pair that some pony was coming out, that pony was none other than AppleJack herself.

Once she was out the door she locked eyes on the pony who was talking to her Granny as she gained a light blush, remembering all the times that her Granny always teased her about when they were going to give her some great grand fillies. As she gave him the items that were requested with him handing her the required bits, both knowing what was coming next from the older mare.

"So AppleJack when are y'all gonna give me great grand fillies huh i ain't gettin any younger ya know" Granny Smith said as she saw her grand daughter blush up a storm as Silver had gotten used to these occurrences and simply shook his head at the older mares antics.

Without answering her Grandmother AppleJack lowered her head so her hat hid her bush as she made her way inside the house that she had just come out of. With the pies and jam safely secured in either his saddle bags or hovering from his magic Silver bid her a good day as he started to walk away from the farm but not before hearing "come back now ya hear" from Granny who was now peacefully rocking back and forth.

Nodding to the mare on the porch Silver continued on his way down the long road that would take him to the town where he would then head to his house. After passing the school as he made his way to his house, after entering the town he felt a little rumble on his back as he figured that Ruby was hungry and decided to make a detour to SugarCube Corner since it was nearby. With that in mind he started to make his way to the bakery that he often frequented to get himself and Ruby a late lunch seeing as he couldn't let her go hungry.

Once he entered the bakery and made his way to the counter he ordered 3 muffins for himself and asked if they had any muffins that had gems on it, with the mare behind the counter giving him a curious glance he turned slightly to show the dragon on his back which caused her to gain a look of recognition as to why he asked if they had gem covered muffins.

"While we don't have them premade if you don't mind waiting a couple of minutes we can add some to a couple of muffins but it will be extra" Mrs. Cake said as she looked at the stallion nod before he told her that would be fine and asked for 2 blueberry with gems.

After waiting for a couple of minutes the mare walked back out with 2 separate bags and told the stallion which muffins were in which bag as he floated the amount of bits asked for to the mare as she put the bags on the counter. When the muffins were paid for he made his way to the normal field that he enjoyed eating the muffins in and as he laid down on the grass Ruby slowly slid off his back as she sat next to the stallion as they enjoyed the muffins.

When the two were finished with their muffins they began to make their way around town in search of a small bed for Ruby to sleep in since his room was big enough, now that he owned the house he would have to schedule a renovation to add a bedroom for her. As they were looking for a furniture store Silver remembered where he bought the towels after he first moved into his house, after remembering the location Silver and Ruby made their way to the Quills and Sofa store that was near the road that led to the school.

Once they entered the store Silver started to make his way to the counter in order to see if they carried a small-medium sized bed, to his joy they did asking if they would be able to bring one up for him and getting a "yes we can do that" Silver started to make his way through the store in search for some blankets and pillows, which he let Ruby choose the colors. She chose a half black half red blanket, 2 medium sky blue pillows and to his surprise a silver/ light gray sheet. Silver also decided to buy some spare towels just in case he had an overnight guest that wanted to take a shower.

As he levitated everything back to the front counter the clerk rang everything up and totaled close to the 500bit mark, glad that he filled his bit bag this morning he paid the required amount and once again levitated the items as he and Ruby made their way back to the house in order to get everything set up. It took them roughly 15 minutes of walking through town before they eventually came to the sight of the hill and their house slowly closing in.

Making his way in his house he puts the spare towels in the bathroom closet in order to keep them fresh, and started to make his way to his bedroom in order to put the frame together and then set up her bed so she can see how she likes it tonight instead of having to wait for it because he could tell that she was excited which caused him to smile.

Time Skip: 2 hours, 3pm

Seeing as this was Silver's first time putting a bed frame together he had to rely on reading the step by step instructions which gave an illustration as to what he had to do. Once he had gotten the frame finished he began to put the sheet over the mattress, tucked the blanket at the bottom of the bed and placed the pillows where her head would be resting. Smiling at his word he lightly sighed as it just dawned on him that he was going to have to take it apart and then reset it up once the renovation he had planned to build an extra room for his house was done.

Walking out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen he heard a knock on his door, having Ruby sit on the couch as he passed it and went to see who was at the door. Opening the door Silver sees a light tannish brown coated stallion that had a slicked back black mane and tail and had what appeared to be money bags as his cutie mark.

(20 minutes before)

After Filthy Rich had heard about what happened at the school from his precious daughter he made his way to the Mayor's office in order to find where this pony lived to see how much the baby dragon would cost since he would do anything to make his little girl happy, at first he wanted to buy the property the pony lived in but the Mayor told him that the land had a new owner and that she wasn't the one who was able to sell him the land and so gave him the address to where he could find the land owner.

Making his way to the address that was given, Filthy Rich came upon a medium sized house and seeing that it was similar in description to the one the Mayor told him that he would find the owner of the land, he knocked on the door and waited patiently for the pony to answer which didn't take long. Once the door was opened Filthy Rich was greeted by the sight of a rather intimidating stallion, said stallion was very tall with a black coat with similar black mane and tail that the tips were a silver color just under half way.

"Can i help you?" Silver asked in his usual monotone, as his question seemed to break the other stallion from his thoughts.

"Ah yes I am Filthy Rich and was looking for the owner of the land seeking directions to some pony who was rude to my daughter earlier today" Filthy Rich said as he introduced himself then told the stallion his reason for being here.

"Who is your daughter exactly and do you know what the pony did to her?" Silver asked as he knew what the stallion was here for but was curious as to why.

"My daughter is Diamond Tiara and the pony in question brought a baby dragon in to her class and it later gave 3 less fortunate fillies more attention then it gave my daughter and so she asked to have it" Filthy Rich explained to the stallion expecting him to give up the information of the pony he was looking for, but instead he heard laughing. It was at this time that Ruby stepped from behind the couch allowing Filthy Rich to see her.

"Ah i see so you were the pony that made my daughter sad, so how much will it be for the Dragon then?" Filthy Rich asked as he looked from the baby dragon to the stallion.

"She isn't for sale, and if me not bowing to the likes of your daughters demands made her sad then good lets hope she learns she can't have everything she wants" Silver said rather coldly as he looked at the other stallion.

"If the dragon is not for sale then i will just take it off your hooves and be on my way" Filthy Rich said smugly as he attempted to make his way through the door but was stopped.

"No i don't think you get what i am saying, you aren't getting Ruby and i would appreciate it if you didn't try to enter my home when i never gave you permission" Silver said as he stood in the middle of the doorway blocking any attempt the stallion could try at entering.

"I don't think you understand who I am, anything that I or my family want they get" Filthy Rich said as he once again tried to enter the house but was soon levitated off the ground, as he looked to the source of where the magic was coming from began sweating at the glare he was getting.

"I don't care who you are, or how high in the class you are. You dare come to my home and demand things from me and then try to enter my home without permission. Let me tell you this, I am not one to wrong do you know why" Silver said as he looked to the stallion shake his head as he started to walk with the levitating stallion, and once he was out of the doorway he closed it and locked the door just to be safe.

"Tell me how old are you?" Silver asked as he walked towards the town.

"30" Filthy Rich said after he gulped a couple times.

"Tell me do you know how long an average Alicorn's lifespan is?" Silver asked as he received a shake from the levitating stallion, "take your age multiply it by 5 and you would still be 10 years off my age" Silver finished as he saw the stallion look shocked since he never heard of a pony living that long except the Princesses who were Alicorn's as well.

After they made it to the edge of his property which went from the edge of town to a couple miles past the hill, once the stallion was floating off his property Silver cut his magic off which caused the other stallion to fall unceremoniously on the ground as he looked up to the stallion that started speaking "I will say this once and only once, I don't want you or anyone of your family to step hooves on my property. If I catch any of your arrogant family on my land I will forcibly remove them seeing as it is my right to do so, I will only allow them to be on my property if the one who caused this mess apologizes but after that is done your family will not be welcome here, now do you see why i am not a pony you should wrong, do you understand?" Silver said as he gave a harsher look to the stallion who was still on the ground and saw that he started to rapidly shake his head yes that he understood as he didn't trust his voice.

Silver seeing as the situation was now clear he started to make his way back to his house in order to make dinner for Ruby seeing as it was now getting close to dinner time. On the way to his house he was joined by Rain and Gilda as they heard the commotion and came to see what was going on, after telling the two what just happened they at first wanted to beat the arrogance out of the pony but were stopped by Silver as he said he thought he nearly pissed it out at the thought they laughed. Once the group made it to his house he asked if they had any plans for dinner to which they said no, so he told them they were more than welcome to eat here which made them happy since they enjoyed his cooking, it wasn't anything fancy but it tasted really good.

Once Silver unlocked the door and made their way inside to see Spitfire trying to read a book while Ruby was trying to get her attention in various different ways. Seeing the sight the group couldn't help but laugh as the griffon and mare joined the two in the living room while Silver went to the kitchen in order to prepare dinner. For dinner he planned to make an apple and carrot soup with a side salad and for dessert the pies that he had bought earlier at the farm. The soup was fairly simple as it was a wheat and sugarcane broth to help add flavor with small pieces of apples and carrots in it.

With the dinner prep finished Silver started to put the items in bowls and levitated them into the dining room portion of the living room, as soon as each seat had the 2 bowls of food in front of them minus his as it had 4 Silver was about to call the others to let them know the food was ready when they all came in while sniffing the air since the soup filled the air with a sweet scent. Seeing as he was right once he sat down he had Ruby sitting on his lap as she looked to see which was hers until Silver added a couple small pieces of gems like breakfast earlier into the soup, which caused her to smile happily as she grabbed the spoon seeing as the others did it she followed them.

Once they all dipped their spoons into the soup and brought it to their mouths, they were surprised as they couldn't understand how he made something so simple taste so delicious. After they took the first bite they started talking while they ate, "Sil if you ever get tired of gem hunting you could be a chef this soup is phenomenal" Spitfire said in between spoonful while the other gave their words in agreement, even Ruby seemed to agree as she was vigorously eating the soup in front of her.

When they finished the main course Silver levitated Ruby onto Rain's lap as he went into the kitchen to grab dessert, it wasn't long before he came back with 5 levitating plates that had a piece of pie placed on it. When he sat down after giving the plates to the other he was surprised that Ruby stayed on Rain's lap but smiled nonetheless seeing as she was getting along with others already.

"Now before we eat dessert just know I didn't make this. It was made by Granny Smith" Silver said as he told the group but was more towards the pony who hadn't spent much time here as of recently with her replacement training. With that out of the way they began to enjoy the taste of the dessert that was still warm and seemed to melt in their mouth.

Once the food was done and all the dishes were taken into the kitchen Gilda gave Silver a small kiss which he returned before she said she enjoyed the meal but was gonna head home and get some rest after bidding the others a goodnight. Rain followed not long after saying that she wanted to stay again but added that even though they had "special" fun it was still too early in the relationship to spend too many nights together. Silver seeing what she meant gave her a small kiss and bid her a good night which she returned before giving Spitfire a goodnight as well as Ruby.

"I was wondering since our relationship has been steadily increasing lately, could I stay the night in your room seeing as it was lonely last night" Spitfire said as she was trying and slightly failing at not mumbling out what she wanted to say.

Silver hearing this smiled as he gave her a light kiss on the lips before "I can understand what you mean and yea I feel that we are at the stage where we can sleep in the same bed together and cuddle" Silver said as he looked at the bright smile she had on her face as the three made their way back to his bedroom.

After Silver kneeled down next to Ruby's bed so she could go from his back to the bed, he and Spitfire crawled under the covers to his bed with Silver laying on his side and Spitfire making her way in between his arms and resting her head against his chest. Giving the stallion one last kiss which he returned they all soon were asleep as the events from the day took its toll on all of them.
