Alright, sorry for the late update, but here you go!
Corrin headed out of the hallway and into the Sword Wing, exhausted from his previous battle with Bowser. As he approached the door to his room, he heard a strange sound that caused him to change direction.
He found himself staring at Link, who was playing on his ocarina. Roy seemed to have heard as well, being that he was leaning on the doorframe across from him.
When Link finally took notice of the two swordsmen, he blushed. "H-how long were you two standing there?!"
"Not that long, but dude, you're good…" Roy said, pulling out a chair and plopping into it, while Corrin merely nodded in agreement.
"Oh… thanks… I guess I've been accustomed to playing by now…"
"Y'know, you don't gotta be shy about it. My uncle, who happens to also be a manakete, plays a flute. There would always be some sort of gathering around Uncle Nils when he played; he was that good…"
"Wow. I have a cousin named Azura. I don't think she played any instruments, but she was a fantastic singer and dancer. In fact, her song was so powerful that it could clear the mind of possession!" Corrin exclaimed, chiming in.
"Wow… impressive…" Link muttered, before turning the ocarina in his hand over. "Maybe… all of us could try… making music someday?"
"Hey, doesn't Samus have like some sort of stash or something? She said something about a bunch of 'modern instruments' in the basement or something?"
"The mansion has a BASEMENT?" Roy asked in shock.
"Well yeah, it's just… Not many people go down there. The last time I remember seeing anyone down there was when Ragnell went missing."
"What are we waiting for then? Let's go down into the totally not creepy, unexplored, and possibly deadly basement that this mansion has!" Roy said excitedly, not surprised when the other two gave him looks that asked if he wished for death.
"Why… why don't we get like, Marth first or something? Or like, ask Samus about it, or bring Cloud or Ike so we don't possibly… y'know?" Link asked, putting his ocarina away and standing up.
Link has created a Chat
Link has added Marth, Ike, Cloud, Lucina, Chrom, Robin, Roy, Corrin, Shulk and Samus to the chat.
Link: Hey guys
Link: Wanna go into a creepy and unexplored basement?
Samus: Why.
Chrom: …
Robin: Is that even a question?
Robin: Of course I'm coming!
Lucina: … Robin, you're supposed to say no.
Marth: ...Are you sure you want to go down there…?
Ike: That place is nasty. Very gross, if I say so myself.
Cloud: I'm coming.
Cloud: I mean, come on.
Cloud: A little dust won't kill you.
Shulk: I think I'll pass.
Shulk has left the chat
Link: Roy and Corrin are coming too.
Samus: Why do you even want to go in there?
Link: Musical instruments
Samus: …
Samus: I'll just get a drone to fly them up.
Roy: Aww, I wanted to experience a near death situation though!
Corrin: Ignore that ^
Marth: Music, you say?
Marth: Sounds… interesting.
Lucina: …
Chrom: …
Robin: Seriously? Learn to have fun once in a while.
Lucina: We are having fun.
Lucina: Father and I are in an intense sparring session.
Marth: …
Robin: …
Ike: Looks like you two switched places now.
Samus: The instruments are in the central room now. SW
Link: Thx Samus
Marth: Seriously, Lucina, why don't you and Chrom take a break from training and check them out?
Robin: ^^^ Listen to your Hero-King ^^^
Lucina: …
Chrom: Fine.
Chrom: Gimme 5 min.
When Chrom and Lucina finally arrived, most of the others were gathered around a huge pile of random instruments.
Link was pointing out several different flutes to Roy, who was looking at them with piqued interest.
Cloud and Marth seemed to be trying to pick a better looking instrument then the other, Ike watching with amusement.
Just then, Chrom heard a familiar voice call him.
"Hey Chrom, check this thing out!" Robin yelled. He seemed to be near a black table, Lucina next to him and watching in sheer wonder.
"Father, look! If you tap on certain parts, they make different noises!" Lucina exclaimed.
Samus just rolled her eyes at their cluelessness. "Guys, that's a Keyboard. It's a literal electric version of a piano…"
"Wow! And if you press this key, the noise that comes out is even lower than Meta Knight's voice!" Chrom remarked, clearly not listening.
"Wait, you can push this little thing back and forth!" Lucina cried once more, before the small blue screen turned black, and the keys stopped making noise.
"I think that was the power switch," Robin said dryly, pushing it to turn it back on.
"Ah! The screen flashed again… Is this some sort of unknown magic?" Lucina asked nervously, then poking another key and flinching when she heard the low pitch.
"Ike…"
"I told you, I'm not playing."
Cloud facepalmed. Getting the mercenary to try playing an instrument would be tough, but he didn't expect it to be… THIS hard.
"Bro, you know that even Marth is going to try to play one. Why won't you?"
Just then, Marth walked up to them, a harp in his hand. "Have you two chosen yet?"
"Yeah," Cloud replied, showing Marth the pitch-black electric guitar in his hands.
"Second time. I'm not playing."
"Ike… Please?" Marth begged. He was looking forward to seeing his BF play an instrument.
"...Marth, don't make that face. It won't make a difference."
After a couple more minutes, despite what he had said before, Ike gave in and allowed Marth to choose an instrument for him.
"A drum set? Seriously?"
"It's the only thing I'm certain of that you won't accidentally break. The woodwinds are too fragile, and you would probably rip the strings off the string instruments."
"What are you playing then?"
"This." Marth held up his harp, which seemed to glint gold in the sunlight. "It's not modern or digital or anything, but it reminds me of my sister. Pit taught me the little that he knew."
Marth then ran his fingers over the strings of the fragile instrument, causing the delicate strings to vibrate. It released such a sound, fluid yet soothing, with a type of magic that seemed to mesmerize the two people watching him.
"Whoa… Marth, I never thought you would have that much talent for these things but…" Cloud sighed. "Damn, that was… a mythical performance!"
Ike, on the other hand, was speechless. "How-?"
The prince smiled, glad to hear such praise. "Well, I've always wanted to see you two make music together. Why don't you give it a try?"
Boy, Marth would regret saying those words as soon as they started.
So, how was it? Please leave a review if you enjoyed.
