[The following information was taken from Creepypasta Case File #008028022670. The document below is a transcript of an interview conducted by Lauren and Laurence Van Helsing between the two remaining victims, Mary Lota and Shelby Benton.]
Lauren: My name is Lauren and this is my twin Brother, Laurence.
Laurence: Feel free to call me Lance.
Lauren: I know you ladies must be tired and sick of sitting in this room, but we just want to know the truth.
Mary: We didn't kill them!
Shelby: [Sobbing] They were our boyfriends! We loved them!
Lance: All four of them?
Lauren: Lance! Shut up. Forgive my brother. He jacked up on coffee before arriving. In fact, Lance, you should wait outside.
Lance: Oh, come on, I was only joking.
Lauren: Don't make me call Uncle.
Lance: Fine.
[A door can be heard opening and then closing.]
Lauren: I really am sorry about that. Let's try this again. Start from the beginning.
Mary: [Sighs] It was Carl's idea to head down to the plantation. Halloween was next week so we figured it had something to do with that. All of us were transfer students from different areas except for Carl. He was the only one who really knew the area.
Lauren: What did you do at the plantation?
Mary: Carl led us inside the house and gave us a tour. He told us about the history and what not. I think some of it was boogus because he was pretty high at the time. Not too mention the fact that Pat was constantly laughing because he was drunk.
Shelby: He tried to flirt with me but Justin kept him in check at the time.
Lauren: At the time?
Mary: Carl led us to the basement. He said that people believed a young black boy had been killed there by the overseer or whatever it was called. He said a witch cursed the man and the boy's ghost haunted him until his death and that the ghost stayed behind.
Shelby: Yeah, then he went on about this nursery rhyme that when you said it on the plantation that it supposedly would summon the ghost. Something like Tommy Boy, Tommy Boy. It repeated that a lot.
Lauren: I know it. It's a very popular rhyme in Louisiana but only here. Especially in this town.
Mary: Then how do you know it? Your accent tells me that you're from England.
Lauren: My family is from England. I tend to travel from place to place.
Shelby: What did you say that your last name was?
Lauren: I didn't. It's Van Helsing.
[All three girls were silent for several moments.]
Lauren: What you experienced in the plantation . . . That was supernatural, something that my family specializes in. I'm not here to make fun of you or call you crazy. I'm here to figure out what happened and what I can do to prevent it from happening again.
Shelby: [quietly] I thought I was crazy.
Mary: Well, if we are, then at least we aren't alone.
Mary: Once Carl got started, the other guys joined in, including our boyfriends, Justin and Zack. I thought it was stupid so I stayed quiet.
Shelby: I was too afraid to join in.
Lauren: That's probably what saved your lives. So far as we know, Tommy doesn't take too kindly to being made fun of, which the rhyme does exactly that.
Mary: Yeah, it seemed pretty strange that if the boy had been killed by a white guy that he would kill Pat, saying that he was of the same race.
Lauren: Most monsters don't discriminate because of race. But Patrick's body was in better shape than the others.
Shelby: Tommy took Pat first.
Mary: Yep. At first it was really silent when the guys had finished. They then busted up into laughter, pushing each other. Normal guy stuff.
Mary: [after a short pause] Shelby said that she wanted to get out of there, so we decided to leave. Pat was at the back of the group.
Shelby: We all thought he had fallen or stumbled when he shouted. It wasn't very loud.
Mary: Carl was in front of Pat, so he stopped and turned, looking back into the basement. Justin and I were right behind Shelby and Zack who were at the front of the group.
Shelby: I figured Pat was just joking, so I continued on, knowing that the others would check up on him. I just needed to get out of that house and outside.
Mary: Zack went with her. I stayed back because they were guys and were prone to do stupid things.
[Lauren chuckles a bit causing Mary to let out a single laugh along with her.]
Mary: Carl called out Pat's name but Pat didn't reply. Carl obviously found this hilarious and bursted into laughter.
Mary: We had shut the lights off to the basement, but the stair lights had still been on. The lights shut off at that moment, plunging us into darkness. Then I heard a slam like a door shutting coming from upstairs. I took off running up the stairs.
Shelby: It had been the front door. Zack and I had reached it and we were about to go outside when it slammed right in front of us. Zack tried the doorknob but it wouldn't budge.
Mary: The lights all over the house then went out. I think I might have knocked over a few lamps after that, trying to figure out what door had closed. When the lights went out, Shelby screamed, so that kind of helped.
Shelby: I reached out for Zack when that happened. I think he was going to grab my hand because I remember touching him and then he was just gone, like someone had pulled him away.
Mary: I called Shelby's name and she replied. I grabbed a hold of her and asked what had happened to Zack, calling his name, but no one replied. That's when the screaming started.
Shelby: It was so loud. It was like a child screaming for help, over and over again, amplified to echo all around the house.
Mary: I heard another door slam through the screams, probably the basement door. That's when we began to hear the boys screaming as well as if something or someone was attacking them. The screaming of the child turned to one of anger when before they had just sounded sad.
Shelby: I was frozen in fear. I didn't know what to do.
Mary: I wanted to go check on the boys but Shelby stopped me. I knew that I just couldn't leave her alone. Besides, I wasn't a fool. In those kinds of situations whenever you split up, you usually end up dead, so I stayed with her.
Lauren: How long do you think you stayed like that?
Mary: It's hard to say. It felt like an eternity though.
Shelby: One by one the guys' screams would get very loud before cutting off. [Shelby breaks down crying.]
Mary: When the screams stopped, it was deadly silent for a few minutes before we began to hear a faint crying which got louder as Tommy got closer to us.
Mary: He was enveloped by a white light, though it wasn't very bright and you could see through him. He had one of those old style brown caps on his head, a white shirt with brown suspenders, barefoot. You could see there were tear tracks on his face. He looked like he couldn't have been more than ten years old.
Mary: I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He looked so sad.
Lauren: Had you had any paranormal experiences before this?
Mary: No. I didn't believe in that. I thought the movies were just Hollywood *Bleep*.
Lauren: Most of it is, but they are based on truth. Go on.
Mary: He said that he was sorry. He kept repeating that over and over. Promising that he would be a good boy.
Shelby: I don't know what happened. I just exploded at him. I screamed at him to let us out. To just let us go!
Mary: Shh, Shell, it's alright. There's nothing wrong with that.
Lauren: Indeed, there is nothing wrong with that. You girls couldn't have reacted any better than you did. That's why you survived.
Mary: [sarcastically] Thanks.
Mary: [Sighs] He pleaded with us to help him. That he wanted to leave.
Lauren: Did you?
Mary: Yes. Tommy smiled at me. The door behind us swung open. Shelby ran out but I stayed.
Mary: He said to check the fields. Then he just disappeared.
Lauren: So that's why you were in the fields.
Mary: Yes. But I didn't know what he wanted me to look for.
Lauren: I do. Trust me, Lance and I will help him. Thank you for your cooperation and I'm sorry you girls had to go through this.
Incident Report #: 192947934241389
Victims: Carl Juan (Deceased), Patrick Sheldon (Deceased), Justin Smith (Deceased), Zack Ward (Deceased), Mary Lota, Shelby Benton
Entity: Tommy
Date of Incident: 10/26/03
Location: Magnolia Plantation, Charleston, South Carolina, USA.
Report Filed by: Victim Or Agent Lauren Van Helsing
After interviewing the remaining victims, Mary Lota and Shelby Benton, Lance and I headed back to the Magnolia Plantation. We waited until it got dark before Lance tried summoning Tommy.
Tommy appeared as normal. Before he could attack us however, we explained that we were there to help. We asked where his body was buried. Using a map, he was able to pinpoint the exact location.
As we were leaving the house, Tommy disappeared which I found slightly strange. I think he might have been bound to the house which didn't make sense. Most spirits when bound to a house, were bound to it by magic, or their body was buried there/they died there. It might just have been that but it still struck me as a little odd.
Lance and I dug up the location where Tommy said his body was buried. We found bones thrown into a sack about three feet down. It was clearly Tommy's.
We went to the slave quarters and proceeded to give him a proper funeral, burying him six feet deep, burning the bones before we threw the dirt back in, since we didn't really have a coffin. Lance made a cross out of sticks and we etched Tommy's name on it.
As of now, we believe Tommy to be at rest.
