Hello people, and welcome back to Highschool of the Dead: Resurrection. Yet another home lost for the team, let's see if they can keep their base-acquiring streak going as well...and their zombie ass-kicking spree of course.
When the yacht reached the opposite dock, Itachi was the first one to disembark, and then ran off to scout ahead as the test of the rest got their stuff in order. They then disembarked themselves, and looked over the zombie Itachi shoot down...that still had an arrow in it's head. At least they knew he would come back; Hell will freeze over before Itachi wastes an arrow. They were right too, minutes later, Itachi caught up with them as they left the docks, and they turned their heads to see him catch his breath.
"See anything?" Takashi asked.
"There's a blockage on the bridge back there, and a shitton of zombies waiting to get put down." Itachi said, and Masato immediately marched in that direction with the group looking at each other before following him.
"Ready for more practice Alice?" Kohta asked.
"Yes." Alice said firmly as Kohta gave her an M9.
"You go ahead, I'll catch up." Itachi said as the group left.
When they finally reached the bridge, they were just in time to see Masato tear through the zombies with Takashi's old shotgun, which Taksashi of course replaced with their new AA-12. He and Saeko then rushed into the fray to help Masato with each of them taking one side as Masato took the center. Meanwhile, Saya pointed out a ruined fire truck that had it's ladder broken off, probably from a crash of some sort, and the rest of the group used the ladder to climb up the truck and pick off the zombies from overhead.
Even Shizuka and Alice got involved, with Shizuka slowly taking pot shots at the zombies...and recalling Masato yelling at her to only fire if she knew she'll hit the and Saya each focused on the zombies that got too close for comfort, as Rei's gun wasn't silenced, unlike those of her nearby teammates. Unsurprisingly, Kohta had the least trouble out of the group, with his own M4 allowing him to bullseye zombies left and right.
"I'm out of ammo!" Alice exclaimed.
"Give it here!" Kohta said, and Alie handed over her M9, and Kohta reloaded it for her before giving it back.
"Thanks!" Alice said before getting back in the fight.
Meanwhile, Saeko danced circles around the zombies while slicing off or through their heads, tripping them, kicking them down, or into each other, with some of the tripped zombies getting stabbed to slashed through the face. Takashi however kept his distance with his AA-12, unloading one shell after another into the zombies, despite the fact his gun had modest recoil, and a perfectly reasonable full-auto function. He reloaded when needed of course, but when the zombies got too close, he slung his AA-12 over his shoulder, and took out his new metal bat before smashing in zombie skulls.
Masato continued to tear through the zombies' center, until he reached the other side...and he was pulling as few punches as ever. He didn't even bother cocking his shotgun; he fired one shell, and loaded another directly into the chamber before blowing at least one zombie's brains out with it. Whenever a zombie managed to get too close, he bashed it's skull in by using the shotgun like it was Takashi's bat, or he pulled his bayonet and lobotomized a zombie with it. Sometimes he even grabbed it, broke it's neck, smashed it's head into another zombie's head, or into the edge of a piece of a ruined car.
The three-pronged assault eventually wore down the small horde, and Masato regrouped with Saeko and Takashi for a final push...but there was a problem.
"More coming from behind us!" Saya yelled, and Zeke started barking as Saya's fellow gunners turned to see them.
"The gunfire must've drawn them." Kohta said, and Rei looked at the three members of her group they were supporting.
"They only have a few zombies left, let's focus on the other horde." She said.
"Right." Kohta said before the group opened fire on the zombie reinforcements.
Saeko and Takashi continued to bash and slice through the remaining zombies, with Masato shanking his own fair share of zombies. At one point, he jammed his knife into the skull of one zombie, then another lunged at him...only for him to pull a second bayonet and stab it through the face with a furious yell. He then readied both knives, and charged at another group of zombies, tackled one down, stabbed two more on either side of him, stomped in the fac of the one he knocked down, and turned to see another lunge at him, only for Saeko to slice through the back of it's head, and make Masato pushed it's unmoving body to the side.
He didn't acknowledge Saeko's aid before looking at the other side of the bridge, and seeing the incoming zombies, that were getting wiped out. At one point, Rei ran out of rifle ammo, and pulled her Glock instead, and Kohta had to help Shizuka reload her M4 for her. Despite their efforts, the zombies were closing in...and fast.
Takashi then reloaded his AA-12, and charged over to help the rest of his group who were about to be trapped by the zombies encircling the fire truck. He then used the full-auto function and laid waste to the horde, as Masato and Saeko looked on while Takashi tore the zombies to shreds while yelling at the top of his lungs. Everyone looked at Takashi with awe as he took a moment to calm down...and then a loud bang on the other side of the fire truck reminded them that the fight wasn't over.
Next thing they knew, arrows came zooming through the crowd, with some piercing multiple zombies in a row.
"There's only one person I know who can do that..." Saya trailed off, and lo and behold, Itachi was running on the top of one delivery truck after another as he loosed his arrows into the crowd of zombies. He then ended his killing spree by jumping off of a delivery truck and loosed no less than four arrows before hitting the ground and rolling forward as the last of the zombies fell down dead.
"Nice of you to join us." Rei said as Itachi regrouped with them and took his arrows off of the dead zombies.
"You're welcome." He said as Masato, Saeko, and Takashi rejoined the group.
"I think that's all of them." Takashi said, and a zombie with a gash on the side of it's head stumbled towards them from behind, and Itachi notiched an arrow.
"Actually..." He trailed off before loosing his arrow into it's head. "...that's all of them."
"Nice..." Saya groaned.
"Which of you hit that one? Actually, nevermind, I don't want to know..." Itachi said before walking off, and leaving the group there to help each other down from the fire truck. Itachi then looked back at them with one hand on his hip, and then walked off when they got close enough.
"And where were you exactly?" Rei asked.
"I...happened to have been watching the show, as well as scouting further ahead before I figured you could use some help from..and third party." Itachi said.
"You did all of that?" Takashi asked.
"Yes...I did. Also I was winded from running from one end of the dock and back, but at you can see...I feel fabulous now." Itachi said.
"Clearly." Saeko said before looking at the blockage at the bridge, along with everyone else.
"What do you think caused it?" Rei asked.
"Maybe some people got together and tried to seal this part of the city off...but why?" Kohta asked.
"Maybe to contain the infection...or worse, keep this place to themselves." Takashi said.
"So we shouldn't even be here." Shizuka said.
"Hey, it's too late for that now, so unless you're done making too much noise...let's get hopping." Itachi said.
"What did you find?" Saeko asked.
"Well...I noticed a crate of supplies that had signs of being scavenged through, so there's likely some Ghosts around here. I also spotted a temple to the right side of the city." Itachi said.
"A temple...? We might find someone, or something there." Saeko said.
"We better find some wheels first, because I'm not walking all the way to the other side of the city." Saya said.
"Luckily, there's a motorshop on the way...with buses." Itachi said.
"Thank God." Saya said.
"And me;last I checked, God didn't tell you, I did." Itachi said seriously.
"Yeah, whatever, let's just go get us a bus." Saya said.
"First, we go back to the yacht to get the rest of our supply." Masato said.
"Naturally." Itachi said, and the group then went to the yacht, grabbed their bags...and Masato's chainsaw, and walked into the city.
Their trek was largely uneventful aside from the usual stray zombie, some of which were drawn out by the wind chimes Itachi found, before taking an arrow to the face. Saeko, Takashi and even Rei used their respective melee weapons, to slice off the zombies' heads, smashed them in, or in Rei's case, give them a rifle-mounted blade through the skull. The other mostly spotted zombies, since ammo needed to be preserved until further notice, and especially noise has to be kept down despite most of the zombies nearby were dealt with at the bridge. Neither of which was a problem, even with the long distance the group had to travel; they were more than versed enough to deal with most of it.
Eventually, Itachi climbed on top of another delivery truck they found, and looked through his binoculars.
"What do you see?" Alice asked.
"Aside from the crate being half a block away, and a ton of zombies that are not only far away, but also far out our way? Not much." Itachi said.
"What about what is in the way?" Saeko asked.
"Wait..." Itachi said and continued looking."That motorshop I mentioned isn't much further."
"Good, it's going to be dark soon." Takashi said as he looked at the twilight sky, and the group continued their trek.
After a brief and pointless check-up on the crate of supplies...which is much bigger than it normally was, the group got to the motorshop.
"What a dump." Itachi deadpanned.
"You can say that again." Saya said.
"What a dump." Itachi said before smirking.
"Smartass..." Saya groaned and Itachi snickered before Masato kicked in the door and looked around. No zombies showed up, nor were there any noises, so he motioned for everyone to come inside. Once they did, they immediately started to look around.
"Is anyone of you an engineer?" Masato asked.
"I for one assumed you were." Saeko said.
"I know how to drive an APC, but that's the extend of my knowledge." Masato said.
"It's too bad we don't have any engineers with us; this is some high-end stuff." Kohta said.
"No kidding, power tools, generators...the list goes on and on." Rei said.
"None of it matters, let's just grab the bus and go." Masato said.
"We can deal with whatever you have in mind later; there's no rush." Takashi said.
"Unless you count the darkening sky, and the fact that we don't have, hell I don't know...a place to sleep!" Saya said.
"Lady's got a point." Itachi said.
"Thank you Itachi...cannot believe I said it, but I mean it." Saya said.
"Um, guys? I think we have a problem..." Shizuka trailed off, and the group went to see her...and the bus was opened.
"O.k. that can't be good." Saeko said and Masato inspected the bus itself first, saw there were no zombies, then checked out the engine.
"The battery's gone." He said before closing the hatch.
"Dammit! Well, let's go see if there's any batteries here." Rei said.
"If someone took the battery out of the bus, there's not likely to be any inside." Saeko said.
"We won't know unless we check." Rei said.
"That is true." Saeko said before the group looked around, with each person checking a different area, leaving no stone unturned. Despite all of their efforts, no battery was dug up.
"Anyone find anything?" Takashi asked.
"No." Kohta said, and everyone else shrugged, shook their head, or hummed in disagreement.
"What now?" Alice asked.
"Now we look for a place to stay." Takashi said before Itachi surprised everyone by walking into the shop from the front door.
"No need." He said, and everyone looked at him.
"Where have you been?" Rei asked.
"Well, while you were all going on a wild goose chase times ten, I was chasing another goose." Itachi said.
"And what would this goose look like?" Saeko asked.
"How about an entire neighborhood full of houses that each resemble my own house, walls and all." Itachi said.
"O.k...nevernmind how good of a find that is, you could've told us about what you were doing before." Takashi said.
"Hey, I'm here to scout for all of you, and that's what I did. Now, are we going to keep sipping tea like a pack of half-ass Englishmen, or are we going to get ourselves a home?" Itachi asked.
"O.k. o.k., point taken..." Saya groaned.
"Oh, and did I mention there's enough for all of us individually, and like the rest of the city I looked at, they should have water and heat?" Itachi asked.
"Again: point taken." Saya said, and then they followed Itachi to their new homes.
When they got to the neighborhood Itachi pointed out...once again, his intel was solid. Each house had pretty decent walls to keep the undead out, and there were indeed enough for everyone of them individually. Unsurprisingly, the group split into groups with each group taking one house, each one next door to the other, or across the street from each other. Rei and Takashi took one together, Shizuka took Alice and Zeke with her, and Masato took the one next door to her, along with their supplies, with Kohta and Saya next door to that one. Saeko and Itachi would up in the same house, and next door to Rei and Takashi, although Itachi and Saeko had their own spaces on opposite ends of the house, with Itachi's on top since he needed the view more.
In Rei and Takashi's house, he stored their personal belongings in their room, after taking a shower, as Rei finished one herself. When she finally came out while wrapped in a towel, she spotted Takashi, in his underwear, looking over his metal bat.
"Takashi?" Rei asked.
"I remember the wooden bat I used to have...back when this all started." Takashi said.
"Oh...fun times those were..." Rei breathed out.
"I can't help thinking about how many lives were ruined thanks to this plague...and how many lives were improved. Most of all, I don't know if ours were improved or ruined." Takashi said.
"If you ask me, it's a bit of both. Nevermind how you and I are...finally together, we get to travel, learn, grow, and frankly just get more badass." Rei said and Takashi snickered.
"Hard to say no to that last thing now is it?" He asked.
"Even though it was necessary. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if you and I were by ourselves...or God forbid how many people were by themselves." Rei said.
"True. I mean, Itachi was alone but...he doesn't really count." Takashi said and Rei sighed.
"I hate to say it, but he is pretty badass in his own way, and he is saving us alot of trouble...but there might come a time where he causes it too." She said.
"He'll definitely get what's coming to him then; good luck justifying putting one of your teammates in danger, and I don't want to hear anything about how he's not one of us; he's traveling with us, which counts for just as much." Takashi said.
"I...wasn't going to say anything, but you're right." Rei said.
"Anyway...your underwear's on the cabinet where you left it." Takashi said.
"Actually...do you mind...well..." Rei trailed off.
"Wait...are you talking about what I think you are?" Takashi asked.
"We...I...if you're o.k. with it." Rei said.
"I...don't see why not." Takashi said and Rei gave him a soft smile before dropping her towel...and Takashi's eyes feasts on Rei's toned, shapely body as she approached him. He then opened the blankets, laid down as Rei snuggled into him, and she closed the blankets for them before sighing dreamily.
"Damn this is nice." Rei breathed out.
"Yes...it is, although I'm not removing my boxers." Takashi said.
"Probably for the best anyway. Although..." Rei trailed off.
"What?" Takashi asked.
"Well...Miss Shizuka found birth control pills..." Rei said.
"And you want to take them?" Takashi asked, and Rei nodded. "Well...if you really want to do the deed, then we'll do it when you're ready."
"Thanks. I know we're supposed to marry first, but dammit, we have too much to make up for!" Rei said seriously.
"Alright, point taken, let's just get some sleep." Takashi said, and Rei calmed down before snuggling into his chest.
"I don't mind being touched however." Rei breathed out...and Takashi smirked before groping her butt.
"That...we don't need pills for." He said before Rei claimed his lips with her own as Takashi continued squeezing her supple flesh. The battery could wait until morning, now the entire team had a place to call their own again.
When dawn came, the group reunited in Masato's house...and each one came with their hands full.
"I found a battery!" Kohta exclaimed.
"You did!? Where?" Takashi asked.
"Ours house's garage. Turns out they had a spare battery for when their car malfunctioned. Clever people." Saya said.
"That takes care of the bus." Takashi said and Shizuka held up a map.
"I found a map in the garage of my home." She said, and Itachi took it from here and looked it over.
"O.k...the bridge is here...we came through here...and stopped there...now we're...here!" He said before pointing at the map.
"You're sure we're there?" Saya asked.
"I'm certain. I've used maps before, I remember which direction we went, and-" Itachi stopped talking when a plane flew overhead, then went to the window.
"Breakfast time." Alice said.
"Alright, some of us should set up the bus, and the rest should go get the supplies." Takashi said.
"Shizuka, you come with me to set up the bus, everyone else go get the supplies." Masato said.
"I think we're going to need that bus, because that supply drop is going to land well away from here." Itachi said.
"Then it's settled..." Saeko said before everyone readied their weapons and went outside.
Well...get one problem, solve one problem, fair's fair. Anyway, here's hoping that lose-your-home streak is finally over now, because frankly, I'm sick of writing that..even though it's my plan. Now, please continue to Rate, Review, and Share while I cook up the mother of all supply runs. Stay tuned.
