Three day later
Sabrina had started her first day at her new school today. Over the two day Madison has been trying to get Riley to talk to Amber, but it never worked. But there is one thing that Riley has agreed to do. She was going to talk to her mother.
Jareau-Prentiss household
Riley was at JJ and Emily's house with her mother, Amber and Sophia. The kids were at her and Madison's house with Emily and Madison and JJ was out doing something.
"Let's get this over with." Riley said as she sat down on the couch next to Sophia, Amber, and her mother.
"Okay where should I start?" Makayla asked
"Why did you split us up?" Amber asked
"Okay, I didn't mean to split your guys up. I didn't mean to leave you guys with your father." Makayla said
"You did not leave us with dad, you left me with dad and Sophia and Amber went to our uncle. They had a somewhat better life with our uncle then I did. Why was that?" Riley said
"Well he only wants one kid. So he gave Amber and Sophia to your uncle and kept you." Makayla said
"But why?" Sophia asked
"Because he saw something in Riley." Makayla said
"Saw what in me? "Riley asked
"I don't know." Makayla said
"Okay then why did you fake your death?" Sophia asked
"I didn't not fake my death, your father just lied to you guys. I left him. I tried to take you guys with me but i couldn't." Makayla said as tears rolled down her face.
"Now if we are done here, i have to get home." Riley said as she stood up.
"But…" Riley cut Amber off.
"Let it go Amber. See I talk to Makayla. Now I have to go home." Riley said
"Riley you can't just do this. Think about how mom feels right now." Amber said
"I don't care what she thinks, she is not my mom and she will never be." Riley said
"You are a selfish bitch." Amber yelled.
"And you are an annoying bitch yourself. So if you don't mind, I have to get home to my family." Riley said
"But Riley, we are your family." Sophia said with tears in her eyes.
"Okay guys, how about we settle down, if Riley has to go home i'm fine with that." Makayla said
"See she is fine with it. Now I have to go home." Riley said
"Do you really have to go home or are you lying to get out of this?" Amber asked
"So what?" Riley asked
"Do you even care about us?" Amber asked
Riley didn't even look at any of them.
"See you never care about us. All you care about is your little family with Madison. And just wait in only a matter of time before Madison leaves you. Well I'm surprised she is still with you. I thought she would have left you by now." Amber said
"Amber." Makayla and Sophia said at the same time. They were both shocked by what Amber said.
Riley turns toward Amber.
"What did you just say?" Riley said
"You heard what I said, you are nothing. Once you die no one cares that you were dead. They moved on. So no one cared about you now." Amber said
"THAT IT!" Riley screamed as she went to pounce on Amber.
At that moment Riley felt someone grabbed her mid air and spun her around.
"What the hell is happening here?" JJ asked as she walked over to where Madison had a hold on Riley.
No one says anything.
"Okay how about you go to the car and cool off. I will be there in a minute." Madison said as she slowly tried to push Riley away from Amber.
A few seconds of trying Riley finally walked to her car.
"What the hell just happened?" JJ said
"I thought y'all was coming back for another hour." Amber said
"We were but Sophia texted us that you and Riley were fighting. So we rushed over here." JJ said
"Well Riley gots mad." Amber said
"Why did she get mad, because I know Riley would have a reason why she would try to hurt you." Madison said
"She said things that made Riley mad and maybe sad too." Sophia said
"This is just great. What did you say?" JJ asked
"Well i just told her the truth, if she could handle that truth it is not my problem. Oh look at the time, I should really get going. I don't want to miss my plane." Amber said as she walked out of the house.
"I should really get going too." Makayla said as she stood up.
"I really hope i can see you again Sophia." Makayla said
"Yeah me too." Sophia said as Makayla walked out of the house.
"Sophia, I think you should get ready for bed." JJ said
"Okay. I hope Riley is okay." Sophia said
"Yeah us too." Madison said as Sophia walked upstairs.
"So what are we going to do about Riley?" JJ asked
"I don't know, but I think we should give Riley time to cool off before she talks to me." Madison said
"Okay, do you want Emily to drag the kids here so you and Riley will have the house all yourself?" JJ asked
"Can everyone fit in Emily car?" Madison asked
"I think she can find a way. So is that a yes?" JJ asked
"Yeah." Madison said
"Great, I can text Emily and tell her what happens and the plan is." JJ said as she pulled out her phone.
Thompson household
After Emily and the kids arrived at JJ and Emily's house. Madison and Riley said goodbye before heading home.
"Are you okay Riley?" Madison asked as she sat next to Riley and grabbed Riley's hand.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Riley almost laughed at herself for stating such a lie.
"You're not fine, Riley. You can keep telling yourself that you are, but I can see that you're not. What is going on. What is going on?" Madison asked
Riley didn't say anything.
"Tell me what's going on, Riley? Please! Whatever it is we are in this together. No matter what." Madison said
Riley abruptly pulled her hand away from Madison. Riley quickly got up and began pacing.
"I want to be left alone. Please just leave me alone." Her breathing became heavy and chest tightened.
Madison got up from her seat and slowly made her way toward Riley.
"Go away." Riley repeated but Madison did not attempt to leave her alone.
"Not happening." Madison said and lowered Riley outstretched arms that were pointing at her.
Riley tries to pull away again but Madison stops her.
"Please just leave me alone." Riley said, struggling to get air in her lungs.
"No." Madison said as she placed a hand on Riley's chest, feeling her chest rise and fall heavily.
"Breathe, Baby girl. Slow breaths." Madison whispered
"You can fight me all you want Riley but I'm not leaving and i'm not letting you go." Madison said
At those words Riley broke down in tears. Madison slowly pulled Riley into her arms.
"You need to calm down. You're making your breathing worse. Try to take slow breaths." Madison said
Madison had managed to get Riley to sit down on the couch.
"Just focus on your breathing, in and out slowly." Madison said
Madison rubbed soothing circles on the quivering back as another strangle cry filled the room.
A few minutes later Riley had no tears left and her voice had turned raspy.
Madison watched Riley sleep after the panic attack Riley just had.
After a few minutes of watching Riley sleep she decided she would go to sleep too.
