Midoriya ended up messaging Uraraka all the way to the bar when they both had to stop. One was at school and the other at an evil villain hideout. Midoriya opened the door and walked in with a smile on his face completely forgetting the situation he was in. Shigaraki, Kurogiri, and a guy called Giran he'd only met once before were in the bar. The air was tense as no one knew where this encounter was going to go. After a few moments of silence, Midoriya started walking to one of the booths in the back. As he walked past Shigaraki he was stopped by four scared fingers with another pointing upwards. If that finger touched him he'd painfully turn to dust. Midoriya stopped and looked at Shigaraki.

"I'm sorry for overreacting," Shigaraki said. "I hope we can still work together."

Midoriya knew this was scripted and forced, Shigaraki made no effort to hide it.

"Yeah sure." Midoriya said grudgingly.

"Great now that we're all friends again you have a mission kid." Giran said excitedly.

Midoriya turned to Giran and saw paperwork spread out over the table. Under one piece was an image of a villain he recognized instantly.

"The hero killer Stain? What's he got to do with it." Midoriya said sitting down opposite Giran.

"The Master thinks he might be an asset to the League, we want you to find him and get him here." Kurogiri explained.

Midoriya looked through all of the paperwork which was all about the hero killer's past crimes in detail mentioning the hero and the areas the crimes were committed. There were also bits of paper with information about the killer but the only question mark was his quirk.

"Why can't Giran find this guy?" Midoriya asked.

"You and that cretin have similar ideals which means you're more likely to convince him to meet with us." Shigaraki said.

"I could look at all the kills and see if there's a pattern... or maybe see if there's anything on the dark web... maybe a tracking quirk might do but we'd need the right one..." Midoriya mumbled to himself.

"Young Midoriya are you up to the task or not?" Kurogiri asked,

Midoriya came out of his mumbling trance and looked at Kurogiri.

"Yeah maybe in four or five weeks maybe." he said.

"You have two." Shigaraki said coldly.

He got up off his seat and started walking to the ladder to the basement. It took a moment for Midoriya to realize the time he had.

"Wait two weeks? How am I supposed to do that?!" He panicked.

"I don't know and I don't care just get it done." Shigaraki said walking into the darkness.

Midoriya sifted through the papers thinking of a way he'd be able to do this. He started mumbling to himself which annoyed Giran making him leave. Midoriya was sorting all of the papers when someone tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around to see Kurogiri standing next to him.

"Don't forget you still have to train," Kurogiri said. "We need to work on Instinct, that seemed to help you in the USJ attack."

"Yeah I think I can isolate where I'm going to get hurt, I trained it a bit with All for One but I didn't make much progress." Midoriya said disappointed.

"You have to give it some time, it's not going to happen straight away."

"Yeah I know we'll train in a bit okay."

Kurogiri nodded but didn't move. Midoriya could feel there was more he wanted to say.

"What's up Kurogiri." He asked.

"When you walked in you had a smile on your face, why was that?" He asked.

"Oh I made some friends, UA students. I was able to get information about them and people in their class but I'd been talking to Uraraka before getting here, she's a really kind person."

"Do you like this Uraraka?" Kurogiri asked.

"I'm not sure yet, we'll have to see where it goes." Midoriya said with a smile.

"Just be careful not to reveal to her who you really are okay."

"Don't worry as far as she knows I'm quirkless, as long as I don't use Blink all will be good."

Kurogiri seemed happy by the answer and left Midoriya to thinking. He sorted all of the information into a timeline and made links where he could making sure to look into the heroes in depth. By the time he went for training, he'd made a few connections about where the hero killer had been and where he was now. Despite all of this he still couldn't think of a way to find him. The heroes were corrupt or weren't true heroes like All Might only being heroes for fame and money or to use their position to get what they wanted. But he didn't kill all the fake heroes some weren't even considered a target but why? When his training was over he had to go meet up with Uraraka and Iida. He packed up all of his notes and filed away all of the other pieces of paper. While he walked he kept working on his notes and kept trying to think of a way to find Stain withing two weeks. Uraraka kept messaging him but he was too focused on the work at hand. When he got of the train he'd completely forgot about meeting with his friends and just kept walking.

"Hey, Midoriya!" Uraraka shouted.

Midoriya looked around and saw Uraraka and Iida running over to him.

"Oh hey guys, sorry I forgot we were meeting up I was too invested in my work." Midoriya said,

"It's fine it's good for a student to be invested in their work." Iida said.

Iida looked at the notebook and saw all of the notes and images that was on the open page. Uraraka soon followed.

"Wow that's all about the hero killer," Uraraka said amazed. "It's really extensive."

"That's true this is some impressive work Midoriya." Iida praisingly.

"Thanks guys, I wanna be a detective so I decided to try and find the hero killer but I'm struggling to work out how I'm gonna do that." Midoriya said a bit embarrassed.

"Well,it's not like you can work out who his next victim is." Uraraka said.

An idea suddenly sprung into his head. If he could find the most corrupt and fake heroes in the area the newest killings are then there might be a shot. Midoriya had to keep his happiness down. It would be weird if a qurikless boy was suddenly ready to take on a killer.

"Yeah I guess so but I'll come up with something for sure." Midoriya said.

Midoriya put a note in the notebook and put it away. The three of them walked together laughing and exchanging stories about what happened during the day. Midoriya just said he'd been working on his detective work which they both believed. Part of him wished deep down that he'd been able to get onto the course and made all these memories with them. The thought made him feel sad, his days were just filled with training and nothing much else. Eventually, Iida had to go a different way which left only Midoriya and Uraraka.

"So what's the story with you and Bakugo?" Uraraka asked. "He won't say anything and seems to get really depressed about it."

"Oh that I've known him since we were toddlers and I used to think he was amazing and that only grew when he got his quirk. Being quirkless meant I was bullied a lot and Bakugo was one of the main bullies but it was never too bad. You know that sludge incident a while back, the one where Bakugo was involved."

Uraraka nodded her head.

"The only reason he got out was because I went to save him while all the heroes did nothing until All Might finally decided to help that pathetic hero. Anyway I was told off while Bakugo was praised. The bullying got worse when news of my rescue attempt reached my school, I'd come home with cuts and bruises and I eventually got depression which sucked. I tried and tried to find a job where I didn't need a quirk but I had no luck. One day I was on a roof and..."

Midoriya hesitated, if he told the truth then she'd see Bakugo differently and maybe resent him. He didn't want to do that.

"You don't have to tell me if it's too hard for you." Uraraka said.

"It's fine," Midoriya said. "I decided to jump off the roof and tried to kill myself."

Uraraka gasped and was shocked at the lie. It took her a moment to compile her thoughts, she had no idea how to respond to all of this information. A part of her just wanted to wrap her arms around him but another part was still processing things.

"You're okay now though, right?" Uraraka asked.

"Mostly I do have my down days but nothing that bad." Midoriya said reassuringly.

They both walked in silence for a bit neither wanting to say something wrong. Midoriya wanted to know more about Uraraka and she wanted to know more about him. Eventually they got to Urarakas house. It wasn't all that impressive but it was enough to live comfortably.

"Would you like to come in for a drink?" She asked at the front door.

"Thank you but I've got this case to work on and my mum's got me on a strict curfew because of an argument." Midoriya said.

"Really what was the argument about."

"Just how I'm qurikless and how we need a change that doesn't discriminate against the quirkless and gives them a real chance you know."

"That sounds a bit like something a villain would say." Uraraka said worried.

"Yeah that's what my mum said but I don't have a quirk to do anything and I want to help society not destroy it," Midoriya said. "I wanna inspire people like me to work hard to get into professions where they say you need a quirk."

"Wow that's amazing Midoriya." Uraraka said with a big smile.

Midoriya's chest got tight and he nervously smiled back at her. He still couldn't explain this feeling that he had when she smiled at him or even when she was close to him. There was a part of him that wanted to get to know her more but a part of him was telling him to be cautious.

"Haha thanks Uraraka, I'd better get going but I'll see you tomorrow." Midoriya said.

"Yeah see ya." Uraraka said waving.

When Midoriya was out of sight he started using Blink to get home as soon as he could. He was in too good of a mood to be shouted at by his mother.
