Chapter 11:
Discovering that I could diffuse the Amalgamates that Chara called the Memoryheads? That alone was enough to make anyone shocked, Alphys especially. But we still had to rescue the others, which we started doing in the next room to the east, which led to a bedding area. Alphys then held a finger to her lips and looked around for... something.
"There's an Amalgamate in this room... but they are incredibly shy. Maybe leaving the pizza out in the open will convince them to come out," Alphys said, me nodding at that as I opened up the pizza box and left it on one of the beds. And shortly after, an Amalgamate materialized out of thin air, them looking to be a strange mix of monsters that looked tall and thin... the body was made of a furry creature, it had arms that were shaped more like wings, and it also had a single eye on its head that was covered with black ink. I simply came up from behind while it was eating a slice of the pizza... and poked it in the small of the back, the Amalgamate gasping as, almost instantaneously, they all split apart into three different monsters. One looked like a feminine dragon, another was a feminine slime, and the final one was a manly-looking cat monster that stood on all fours.
"W-What the hell?" asked the dragon lady, her looking around and then at me and my group, her looking the most shy of all of them as she blushed all over... and the blush was colored black and white, just as their bodies looked.
"We're... separated? What happened?" the male cat asked.
"It's because of me touching you. That and because my soul is absurdly powerful," I said, the trio looking at me and them smiling at me in their own ways.
"I can't believe my eye... a human was the one to save us... the very first time we've ever been saved by anyone," the slime said, me being confused at his statement.
"So you're aware... the Amalgamates all know of the Resets and the time loops as well... mostly because of their high concentrations of Determination... though what will happen to them now that they're separated? How long until they turn back into puddles?" Alphys asked... and then, Chara took control.
"I can actually feel something happen to my soul whenever Frisk touches them... it's like it's absorbing the excessive amounts of Determination from them, leaving behind just enough so that they won't become melted chocolate after being split apart... mm... chocolate..." Chara said from my mouth, me then smelling just as she did. Chocolate? In this place?
"Oh dear... it appears that Reaper Bird is using fire magic to make melted chocolate again... it's their favorite snack," Alphys said as she pointed to the east. "They can be found over here, in the greenhouse section," Alphys said, me being confused at that statement.
"Greenhouse?" I asked, Alphys sighing at that.
"Yes... I feel I should explain that part as we go find Reaper Bird... as for you three, Dragirl, Slimetta, and Leo... you can go wait for us in my fake lab. We're having a pizza party after everyone else is separated from each other," Alphys said, the three looking at each other and smirking widely as they rushed off to the elevator to Alphys's fake lab, our group going to the east where we smelled the melted chocolate and Chara taking control when she saw the melted chocolate in a bowl in front of a glass mirror.
"MMm... I can't help it... I need to eat this," Chara said as she then proceeded to try and give the thing a lick... but she was stopped when something popped out of the bowl... by materializing out of it! "ACK!" Chara exclaimed in shock as she let me back in control as the creature completely emerged from the bowl... and we were stunned by how freaking tall it was. It had long and spindly legs, tiny wings that looked like Froggit's head... and a giant head that had a giant eyeball and having feet for a beak.
"ASRGPONDCaofgmgsAGOANGasmf!" the creature said, me being dumbfounded. I felt like I'd just heard the most scrambled up message in the entirety of mankind! Nevertheless, I poked this guy on the beak and, just as before, the monster separated and the trio in front of us looked like a trio of monsters that looked related to some of the monsters I'd met in the Ruins, but having a more dangerous look to them all.
"That's my chocolate!" the one who looked like an armored Whimsun shouted, the trio then gasping as they looked at each other and then at me.
"Ribbit... my word... did you save us?" asked the one that looked like a very spiky Froggit.
"How very surprising... to finally be able to speak on my own... how I have missed this feeling," said the final one, it having a single eye, so it was definitely related to Loox.
"Um... can my other side please have some of this chocolate, please? She can't control herself around it, you see," I said, the trio nodding at that.
"Go ahead... we had our fill of it already," the whimsun smiled.
"Well, I hope you have room for more, because there's gonna be a pizza party for all of you after we finish separating the others down here! Go to Alphys's fake lab and wait for us to get there," Spike said, the trio immediately rushing off towards the elevator and me looking at Alphys to see she was smiling very happily.
"I never saw them so happy before... now it's time to find the ventilation room... that's where Endogeny makes its home... we'll need to turn the fans on in order to be able to go into one of the Amalgamate's rooms... her mere presence in it causes the room to be filled with frigid fog," Alphys said, me immediately thinking of one single monster.
"It's Flakes, isn't it?" I asked, Alphys sighing and nodding at that.
"She's the one that's in the most suffering, as she is combined with 16 other monsters... and she always fights for control..." Alphys said as we went to the north and I happened to see a door that led to something I desperately needed to visit at some point. A bathroom. I went to the east along with the others for now until we came across a room filled with fog as well as small bits of white particles floating in the air... and after Alphys hit a button on the wall to the furthest point to the east, the fans turned on, getting rid of the fog in the process... while also having the particles start to form together into a singular entity. One that looked like a giant misshapen dog-looking creature with a large hole for a face and its 6 legs in the shape of dog heads.
"Um... good doggies?" I said, the dog then rushing for me while barking in a very odd fashion and them tackling me to the ground... and the weight of them on my body was like I was being crushed underneath one of the fat kids at the orphanage! But, of course, when they touched me, they began to diffuse and turn back into their old selves, me seeing they consisted of a very big dog, two female puppies, a male teenage dog and a female adult dog. They gasped as they looked at each other and then at me before they then realized what was going on.
"Free... We're finally freed! Thank you, human friend!" said one of the two puppies, them licking me all over the face and me giggling at the ticklish feeling and Alphys giggling as well.
"Okay, guys. I suggest you go to the elevator and wait in the lab. We're going to have pizza for everyone," Alphys said, the dogs smirking at that and nodding. They all then gave me a lick each before then rushing off, Magenta smirking at that.
"Those girl dogs were kissing you left and right... I feel a bit left out," Magenta said, me then going to her and kissing her on the lips, her gasping at that before melting into the kiss and me hearing Chara gagging in thought.
"Okay, mushy stuff over, let's keep going," Chara complained, me smirking at that as I then looked at Alphys with a smile.
"Could I possibly use the bathroom real quick before we get the others helped out?" I asked her, Alphys smirking at that.
"Of course you can," she said, me immediately going into the restroom and seeing there was a toilet there. I then had Chara take control so she could show me how to use the bathroom like a girl did... and after she demonstrated that as well as showed me how to wipe properly, we then flushed it and I went back to join the group. And we saw that there was a strange item on the ground that looked a lot like a small microphone.
"Hmm... I don't remember a microphone being here before," Alphys said as she went to pick it up... and the microphone morphed into another Amalgamate! One that I immediately recognized just from the features it possessed. It had bicep arms, a tail that looked like the second part of Shyren, and a head that was shaped like a Moldbygg.
"Um... are you partly Shyren's sister and Aaron's brother, by chance?" I asked, the creature changing its face to look like an angry smile. And then they spoke.
"YES! WE WANT TO GO HOME!" the creature said, speaking very loudly and saying the same thing multiple times in a row... that is, until I touched them and they gasped as, instantaneously, they all separated and formed their own beings. Shyren's sister looked a lot like Shyren did, only she was gray in color, due to having been turned into an Amalgamate. Aaron's brother had black fur rather than brown and he also had a white fish tail. And as for the Moldbygg? He simply wiggled in place as he looked pretty happy to be separated from the trinity they were before.
"I-Is this a dream?... Or am I in heaven?..." Shyren's sister asked, me smiling at her and the others.
"This is real, guys. You guys get to go home today after we have a pizza party," I said, Moldbygg and Shyster gasping at that and looking happy afterwards.
"Where do we wait for the food? I can't wait to eat it on my own again!" Shyren's sister smiled.
"At the top floor of the elevator that leads to my place," Alphys said, them all swimming off to the area in their own ways with our group then going to the west and feeling the chill in the air as a small amount of freezing cold air could be seen coming from what looked like one of the refrigerators. "Be prepared for a possible failure... Flakes has the most combined Determination of all the subjects and she is partially melted," Alphys said as we then inspected the fridge and saw that it then morphed into the monster that Alphys said... and it actually made me feel very sorry for her in the state she was in.
Her eyes were fashioned from the mouths of Vegetoids, her snowflake crest was made up of 5 different monster limbs, her lower half was melting constantly, her beak was chipped, and her wings looked like they could barely move.
"S...no...wy..." she groaned, obviously suffering. I then sighed as I then touched her on the face and... well, at first, nothing happened. But then, I felt Thorn take control and touch her... and when that happened, she as well as the other monsters combined with her split apart instantly and Thorn then sighed in and out.
"Well... that took a bit out of me... I'm still getting used to having this much strength in this new world," Thorn said as she then disappeared into my mind again and Alphys looked at me in confusion while Magenta and Spike went to Flakes and saw that she was awake, just a little tuckered out... and I also saw that the monsters that made up her other parts consisted of 5 tentacled monsters, 2 cat-like creatures that wore shirts and had black hair, two Vegetoids, 4 monsters that looked like they were made of fire, and three slime monsters.
"Oh... my god... the power that you exhibited just now... I'm honestly shocked at how strong you were just then..." Alphys gawked as she helped the other monsters up as we saw that they were all up and at 'em while Flakes needed to be supported by me and Alphys.
"I thank you... human... I'm so happy... I'm finally back to my old self... I can't wait to see my son... without being a broken mess..." she said as we then looked at all of the other 16 monsters and I smirked at them.
"Okay, time for us to get back to Alphys's pad. The pizza is going to arrive in only 6 minutes, so we'll need to be quick," I said, everyone cheering at that as Alphys then asked a serious question.
"Who was the one that had the power to separate Flakes and the others?" Alphys asked.
"Um... her name is Thorn and she's from the true world, as Chara described it as... she's the one who was the original owner of the super strong soul inside of me. It's apparently a billion times stronger than a normal soul in this world," I said, everyone stopping in place just outside of the elevator at what I said.
"What?! A billion times stronger? Then... you're pretty much a god in this world!" said one of the kitty creatures, which Chara then told me were called Temmies... and she found it odd that they were speaking regularly instead of speaking oddly.
"Um... I wouldn't go that far... besides, even if I were, I've not really done much other than beat Undyne with super strength and save the Amalgamates," I admitted as the first group of monsters went up the elevator, as our group would be too heavy to go up all at once.
"Regardless, we owe you our lives, kid. Whatever you want, just say the word and we'll help you out," one of the fire monsters said, her looking to be a feminine-looking one, though she and the other fiery monsters were the same color as the other saved monsters. Black and white.
"Isn't it a bit odd that everyone became black and white after being separated?" Spike asked for me.
"I was about to ask that," I said, Spike smirking at that as the elevator came back down and the next group went up it, leaving myself, Alphys, Spike, Magenta, one of the Temmies, and Flakes at the bottom waiting for the final trip.
"Hey, can I possibly get an escort back to my village when the party is over? I miss my daddy," the Temmie girl said, me smirking at that.
"I'm sure we can find an escort for both you and the other Temmie," I said, her smirking at that.
"Thanks... I'm Jane and the other Temmie was my brother, Jake... our daddy named us rather than Asgore," she said, me smirking at her as the elevator came back down and we then got on it, us then arriving in the lab and us then emerging to see the other monsters were waiting for us and them all being happy to be there.
"Okay... now, I'm sure that your family members will be very happy to hear that you're doing well, but I'd like it if we could have some food in your systems before you go see them... and I'd also like it if we could call each of your family members to let them know what happened," Alphys said, me smirking at that as Shyren's sister already was on it and began to sing a song, me smiling as I knew that Shyren would be able to hear her now. And then, right on cue, a doorbell chimed at the entrance to the lab and Alphys went to the door and opened it, us seeing that there was a delivery boy with all the pizzas in hand, all in four boxes that were square and had a strange pattern on them... a bunch of small squares that spelled out M in yellow squares with the rest of the spaces being red.
"Mettaton's Pizza service. You owe us 200 gold in total," the delivery boy said, me seeing he looked like a dog of some sorts with brown fur rather than white fur. And he also had on a hat with an M on it and an apron and a very forced smile.
"Here," Alphys smiled as she handed over the money and she then accepted the pizza, the delivery guy then smiling at her.
"Thank you for choosing Mettaton's Pizza service," he said before then leaving in a huff, Alphys then bringing the pizza over to the group of us and all of us smiling at the scent that wafted from all of them.
"Let's dig in," Alphys smirked... but as soon as she said that, I heard something... odd. Something that sounded like someone slamming into a wall.
"Um... did you guys hear that?" I asked, particularly the dogs.
"Yeah, some kind of banging sound," one of the puppies said. The noise then got louder as I could actually feel a small tremor from the shocks as Alphys then sweated all over.
"Oh no... not now..." she gulped as out of nowhere, a large rectangular creature burst through the wall with a powerful clap of thunder... one that had a single wheel, two noodle arms, a microphone in hand, and him looking to be completely robotic.
"OH YES! Welcome beauties and gentlebeauties... TO TODAY'S QUIZ SHOW!" the robot said ecstatically as I saw a disco ball appear from the ceiling and I also saw a couple floating cameras appear, me being immediately worried as I realized who this was. The fact he was a robot, him having cameras, the bombastic entrance, the flashy lights, him saying we were currently on a quiz show? This had to be Mettaton, the cousin of Napstablook!
"Mettaton, not now, please!" Alphys said as Mettaton basically ignored her pleas and looked at me.
"Let's give a big round of applause for our contestant, the weird human child!" Mettaton said as he clapped his hands and some of the other monsters around me clapped, me wondering what was going on.
"Um... okay, this is odd," I frowned as Chara explained to me in thought that Mettaton made a deal with Alphys prior to me arriving here to put on a show and to pretend to try and kill me... and that Alphys would help out. But that wasn't going to be the case now, it seemed. "But I'm game for answering some quiz questions," I said, Mettaton beeping at that as his lights formed a smiley face.
"Have you played before, darling?" he asked.
"Can't say I remember playing any game shows before," I said, Mettaton smirking at that.
"The rules are simple! Answer correctly... OR YOU DIE!" Mettaton said as he then forced my soul out of my body and he then asked a question... with there being four different responses in front of me, from A to D. And the question?
"How many monsters are in the studio audience?" Mettaton asked as I then looked behind us and counted. There were a grand total of 41 monsters if you included Alphys, Spike, and Magenta. I then pointed at C, which said 41 and Mettaton smiled as I heard a victory tune play.
"Correct, darling! Now let's see if you can answer this one," Mettaton said as he then showed another question... one that made both me AND Chara stumped. "What quantifies a monster soul?" he asked, me wondering what I should answer... one option said Magic and Fur, then there was Hopes and Dreams, another was Ferocity and Magic, and the final one was Magic and Hopes.
"Um... these aren't t-the questions we agreed on..." Alphys gulped as I simply made a random guess to B, Hopes and Dreams, and sighed a breath of relief when I got the answer correct.
"You were lucky, human! Now for a tricky one!" Mettaton said as another question popped up... one that I knew would be impossible to answer correctly. "What were the names of the original king and queen of the monsters?" Mettaton asked, me gulping as I didn't know ANY of the names listed...
"Mettaton, that's enough!" Alphys exclaimed out of nowhere, me gasping at that and seeing she looked at him in an upset manner. "No one but the Royal Family could know that question! Not even I know it! Who gave you these questions to ask the human?!" Alphys asked, the others looking at her in surprise. I guess she wasn't known for bursting out in anger.
"If you must know, Alphys, I got an anonymous tip that this human is incredibly dangerous. If they were to attack a monster, or even the barrier, then the entire fabric of reality would collapse! So, from here on out, I'm going to give the human different challenges, ones that are sure to be their end!" Mettaton said, me immediately knowing what was going on. Flowey. He even got Mettaton to turn on me.
"Well, could you wait until later to do that, mister Mettaton? You kind of interrupted a pizza party," I said, him chuckling at that.
"Oh, but of course, human! I formerly apologize, for I did not know that was what was going on! However, as you go through Hotland, be prepared to run into me a few times. I will end your life before you do the unthinkable! And to my lovely viewers, I'll see you on the next show! More drama, more romance, more bloodshed! Stay tuned!" Mettaton said bombastically as he then retracted his wheel and jetted off into the sky with a jet propulsion, me looking at Alphys and her looking at me with seriousness.
"It was that flower again, wasn't it?" Alphys asked, me nodding at that.
"He's been spreading that lie ever since I got out of the Ruins. He's not gonna give up until I'm dead, and I hate that... but why would that tiny flower fear me so much?" I asked with a frown, Alphys sighing at that.
"I'll tell you, but only after the party is done and everyone has an escort home... do you have any ideas on who to contact to help out with that?" Alphys asked, me nodding at that as I called Papyrus.
"HELLO! IS THIS FRISK?" the happy skeleton asked happily.
"Yep. Hey, I managed to save the test subjects and I needed you to get Gaster and his followers to Alphys's place so they could help escort them back home. Is that alright?" I asked with a smile.
"OF COURSE! I'LL EVEN CONTACT UNDYNE AND SANS TO ASSIST!" Papyrus smiled as he then hung up and, almost instantly, Gaster, his three followers, Sans, and Undyne all appeared in the room via teleportation... but for Undyne, it looked she was an unwilling participant with Sans.
"Ugh, Sans, what's going o-" Undyne was about to ask... before she saw the entire group of black and white monsters and she gawked, her looking at me in shock.
"You actually managed to find them?... Not only that, but they all appear to be colored black and white... could I get a bit of an explanation?" Undyne asked.
"Yes, you'll get one, but only after you join us for the pizza party," Spike said, all of the group smirking at that.
"I'm game for having some pizza... I've missed the feeling of food in my system," Gaster said, me smirking at how Undyne looked at him in surprise before then looking at me and me simply smiling. "I'll explain that part too," I said.
