The Great Hall and The Transfiguration Classroom, Hogwarts
Percy
Luckily, Percy and Jason made it back before anyone noticed. Since the storm had abruptly stopped due to 'unknown' reasons, Professor McGonagall ordered the Gryffindors back into their dorms. Percy, being exhausted, fell asleep quickly. He was hovering over an enormous void. Percy looked up. He was holding hands with a girl who was the only source of light in this void. Percy, embarrassed, let go quickly. The girl gasped, and Percy fell into the void. Drifting... Alone... "Percy. PERCY!" Annabeth shouted.
"Huh... What?" Percy asked, finally awake.
"You're going to be late!" Annabeth exclaimed, hurriedly. "Come on!" She dragged Percy out of bed, let him change his clothes and rushed him to the Great Hall. "The others already left. Hurry!" Percy, still yawning, quickly gobbled up his food, and rushed to the Transfiguration Classroom. Luckily, Professor McGonagall was delayed by Peeves on her way to her classroom, and she didn't see Percy and Annabeth come in late.
"Hm, hm. Welcome everyone," Professor McGonagall cleared her throat. "Today, we will be working on a branch of Transfiguration called Vanishing. It is used to make an object or living being go into nonexistence. Now will everyone follow me. Twist and a flick!" The class practiced the movement. "Very good. Now, today, we are going to start small." She passed out buttons to everyone. Almost immediately, everybody started practicing. Only Hermione, Jason, Calypso and Thalia manage to do it.
"To everyone who didn't manage to vanish their button, you will have to by next week, and show me you've learned the skill by then. Everyone, you may go. Jackson, you stay for a minute, I want to talk to you." McGonagall said. The rest of Percy's friends glanced worriedly at him before leaving.
"Um-" Percy started to ask.
"Just a minute, dear. Now Jackson, how far are you to completing your mission?" McGonagall asked.
"Not very far," Percy replied.
"Alright then, I will contact Chiron to let him know," McGonagall told him. "Now, you may go," Percy quickly left the room. As soon as he left, she shook her head and remarked. "I swear they get smaller every year."
**Time Break**
Later that day, Percy and Jason ran into Harry. "So Jason, how do you think of our school?" Harry asked, ignoring Percy.
"Um, not bad, I guess. The subjects are fine," he replied. Harry nodded.
"What was that about?" Percy asked. Jason shrugged.
**Time Break*
A few weeks later, Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Thalia, Will and Calypso were sitting by the tree near the lake. Nico was inside, and Leo was still busy making his invention. The giant squid slowly propelled itself across the glimmering lake. Percy grinned, and jumped right in. Hello, Lord. The Giant Squid thought. Uh, hi. Please don't call me Lord. What's your name? Percy asked. Octulus. The giant squid replied. Uh, have a good day, Octulus. Percy telepathically told the squid. Octulus shot deeper into the lake. "C'mon, guys!" Percy waved to the others. None of them went in. Percy sighed, and controlled the water. He made a giant hand grab Annabeth, and dump her in the water next to him.
She squealed. "Percy, you're getting my school robes wet!"
"Oh, right. Here," Percy replied. He made a giant bubble around them and dried both of them. They slowly rose in the water until they were floating right above the water.
"How did you do that?" Harry demanded.
"Water magic," Percy replied. "Or hydrokinesis. Why, jealous?"
"No, just that you two look stupid in that ball!" Harry steamed. He turned around and fled, retreating to his friend Ron. Hermione joined Jason by the tree.
"Huh, well that has to be very complicated magic," Hermione marveled.
