Chapter 12: I Feel Reluctant
A.N. – Thank you guys for all the reviews. I started reading The Sisters Grimm when I was around 12 and I'm 17 right now so it's been really amazing that this community is still fairly active.
I've been reading fanfics for like 6 or so years now but I only made an actual account last year. I was really scared to start writing but reading the reviews honestly make me feel so supported so I just want to thank everyone who's taken the time to write one.

Sabrina sat in her bed, a few minutes had passed since Luke had left. She had suggested that Luke just sleepover but her friend knew her too well. Luke knew that she just wanted an excuse not to talk to Puck about what had happened and said that she had avoided it long enough.
Before Luke had left, he said that they would hang out with Bella when Sabrina came back from visiting her grandmother. Sabrina let out another groan and dragged herself out of bed to brush her teeth and get ready to call it a night. She would talk to Puck once she was done even if she did feel a bit reluctant to do so.
/
Puck walked into Grimm's room quietly. He looked around and was disappointed when he couldn't find her. He jumped onto her bed and waited for her. She would have to come here eventually, right? Unless she decided to leave with Luke. Puck had been too busy playing video games with Daphne to pay attention when the other boy had left.
He hoped Grimm was still here. He and Jake would be moving out any day now and that would just make it harder to try and talk to her. He turned onto his stomach and pressed his head into the pillow. He wanted to talk to her about everything but he also felt so tired.
He must have drifted off because he felt himself waking up as someone gently poked his shoulder. He groaned and turned his head to see who was disturbing his sleep.
/
Sabrina returned to her room and saw Puck passed out on her bed. She poked his shoulder, "Move over, fairyboy, you're taking up the entire bed." Puck pouted but shifted over to give her space.
Sabrina slipped under the covers, "Are you gonna stay on top there?"
Puck continued to pout as he moved to go under covers, "You woke me up."
Sabrina snorted, "So sorry, Your Majesty. I'll be sure to let you freeze next time."
"Why did you take so long to come home," Puck grumbled and he laid on his side.
Sabrina sighed, "I just needed a few days to wrap my head around what was going on."
"I'm sorry," Puck said as he pulled her closer to him.
Sabrina didn't move away but she didn't turn to face him either, "For what?"
"You know what."
"I can't read your mind."
"Are you really going to make me say it?" whined Puck.
Sabrina had to fight back a smile and stayed silent. She was reminded of how Puck used to be when they were younger. Never wanted to admit when he was wrong. Never wanted to grow up.
Puck huffed out a breath, "I'm sorry for being kind of judgmental about Bradley. I was upset but I should've listened to what you had to say first."
"I get it."
"Really? That's it? I thought you were going to yell at me again. Maybe punch me."
"We're not twelve anymore, Puck. I just needed time to deal with how I was feeling."
"We're good then?"
"Yeah, we're good."
"Do you, uh, do you want to talk about this afternoon?"
"No offense but I don't really want to talk about him with you right now."
"Good. I didn't want to hear about him."
Sabrina let out a small laugh, "Then why did you ask?"
"It seemed like a nice thing to do. Mustardseed said I should try being nicer."
Sabrina smiled as she rolled and turned to Puck, "Sounds like something he would say."
"You should've heard him this one time I offended some Egyptian princess…"
The two continued talking for hours. Puck seemed to have a never ending list of stories from his travels and Sabrina told him stories of highschool drama and some of the few cases she worked as a fairytale detective after she moved back to New York.
Sabrina paused from her story about the time she got a month's detention, slightly pulled away and saw that Puck had fallen asleep. She glanced at the clock and saw that it was 4:00 am. She knew would be tired in the morning but she didn't regret staying up.
/
Sabrina woke up to the sound of her phone vibrating. She blindly reached for her phone, "Hello?"
"Hey, Brina. Sorry I couldn't come over yesterday," replied the voice coming through the speaker.
"Bella?"
Sabrina heard a muffled laugh and then, "Yes, Bri, it's me. Did I wake you? I thought you would be up by now. Luke said you were going to Ferryport Landing."
"I am. I went to bed a couple hours ago so….yeah," Sabrina weakly replied.
Bella laughed again, "Okay sweetie. I just wanted to see how you're doing."
Sabrina wriggled out of Puck's embrace and slowly left her room. "I could be worse," she softly closed her door and made her way to the bathroom. "I think I'm just glad Bradley didn't make it more difficult or anything like that."
"Luke mentioned what happened but I wanted to check in with you and see how you're feeling today."
Sabrina stopped brushing her teeth to reply, "I'll survive. What're you up to today?"
"Mads and I are going to get some decorations for the dance. Wanna ditch your family and come with us?"
Sabrina snorted, "I'll pass on that."
"I figured. We'll probably spend the day together or something. Nathan might join us."
"Have fun third wheeling if that happens."
"I'll get someone else to come. Maybe Luke or Alex."
"I'm gonna hop in the shower. I'll talk to you later, okay?"
"Enjoy your trip this weekend. Love you."
"Love you too," Sabrina hung up the phone and looked in the mirror. Blue eyes stared back at her and she couldn't help but feel uneasy. She hadn't been back to Ferryport Landing with Puck in a while. She was reluctant to go back to the place where she first fell in love with him.
Even when Sabrina would go back without Puck, the memories could sometimes overwhelm her. She couldn't imagine what it would be like now that he was actually going to be here.
Sabrina inhaled deeply and then slowly released it. She stepped in the shower and let the water calm her down.

Around an hour later, everyone was in the kitchen eating breakfast. Sabrina was munching on an apple while her dad and uncle were eating toast and eggs. Puck and Daphne were having a contest on who could eat more bowls of cereal.
"Ghow arr ee gowin?' Daphne said with her mouth full of cereal.
Henry smiled at her, "Sweetie, don't speak with your mouth full."
Daphne swallowed, "Sorry dad. I was asking how are we going. Like how are we getting to Granny's."
Uncle Jake piped up, "I think you guys should go first with your dad and Puck and I will probably come by a bit later."
"What? Why?" Puck asked.
"I want to show you the apartment. We'll start moving our things once we get back from Mom's house. It won't be hard and you won't have to do much work. It's not like we have a lot of stuff."
Sabrina watched as Puck frowned but he didn't say anything else. She didn't quite understand the expression he had on his face but she chose not to comment on it, "Dad, do you want to drive or should I?"
Henry shook his head, "Oh, don't worry Brina, I'll drive. You still look a bit tired. Uncle Jake will borrow your car today."
"Okay, I'll probably take a nap on the way there," she turned to Uncle Jake, "Let me just go grab my keys."
Henry got up and went over to the sink to wash his plate and glass, "Daph, how about you finish up and we get into the car and wait for your sister."
Daphne shoveled the last bits of cereal into her mouth and then slurped the remaining milk. She dashed to the sink and hastily splashed water to clean her mouth, "Bye Uncle Jake! Bye Puck! I'll see you guys by Granny's." She disappeared out the room and they heard the front door open and then close.
Sabrina came back from her room with two bags and handed her keys to her uncle, "Here you go."
Uncle Jake reached out his hand and collected the keys, "Thank you. I guess the next thing I should look at buying is a car, huh?"
Sabrina pretended to think, "I don't know. I think a motorcycle would be a better choice."
She laughed as her dad began to furiously shake his head, "Why would you give that idea? I'm going to load up the car." He took the two bags from Sabrina and picked up his bag from under the dinner table and left.
Uncle Jake chuckled, "You would be right. Did your mom need anything from here?"
"Yeah, one of the bags I just brought down was packed with some things for her and Basil."
Daphne ran back inside, "I FORGOT MY STUFF IN MY ROOM! SABRINA LET'S GO!"
Sabrina rolled her eyes, "I'll head out then. See you guys later."
Uncle Jake nodded while Puck mumbled something from the table. Daphne ran back downstairs and the sisters went outside to leave with their dad.
/
Puck stepped out of the door and followed Jake back to the car. The apartment was pretty nice but he just felt like something was off.
"What's up with you? Is something wrong with the apartment?" Jake asked Puck as he opened the door and got into the driver's seat.
"Nah, the apartment is sweet. I just feel like something is weird between me and Grimm."
Jake started up the car, "What do you mean? Didn't you talk about it last night? I figured you guys were cool since I didn't see you sleeping on the couch."
"Yeah, we talked."
"And what? Do you not want to move?"
"It's not that. I just feel reluctant to leave, you know? Like I shouldn't leave just yet. Like I should stay and protect her."
"Sabrina is more than capable of taking care of herself."
"When we talked, there wasn't any yelling or punching or anything like that. I feel like something weird is going to happen."
"Things aren't always fixed by screaming about it."
"Yeah, I guess everyone knows that but me."
Jake stretched his arm out and ruffled Puck's hair without even taking his eyes off the road, "You're just a bit slower than the rest of us."
"I know you stole that joke from Grimm. It's not even funny."
"It's pretty funny."
Puck huffed and turned up the radio and the two sat in comfortable silence. Both of them were oblivious to the device that had recently been placed underneath the car. Neither of them were aware of the trouble that was ahead of them.
