There was a buzzing near Mrs Hudson's ear, and a small fuzzy bee landed on the edge of the mixing bowl. The bee extended her proboscis, and tasted some of the pie filling. Evidently blueberry was to her liking, and she sat there contentedly, eating her fill.
"Well, just help yourself to the pie, why don't you," Mrs Hudson said, folded her arms, and watched the bee with an expression torn between a scowl and a laugh.
After a short while, another one of the bees joined her.
"Sherlock!" Mrs Hudson called. "Come remove your bees!"
Meanwhile, upstairs, Miracle was busy chewing a hole in one of Sherlock's boots, while Watson held back a laugh.
"He seems to know which items belong to us, I've never observed him chewing on Mrs Hudson's belongings," Sherlock said. Upon seeing Watson's smile, he added, "he was chewing on your bag earlier."
The smile vanished from John's face, and he let out a curse when he found his bag, complete with holes. "Mrs Hudson," he called, "please come get your dog!"
They heard Mrs Hudson call for Sherlock at the same time.
"It seems Mrs Hudson is likewise experiencing someone else's companion as a pest," Holmes remarked.
A short time, and exchange later, all was well. Miracle and the bees were back where they belonged.
