13. Dinner with the Bakugos

"I know, Kacchan," Izuku sighed, "but auntie will be fine with you. I'm scared of what she'll do to me when I tell her about Shoto," they walked together to Bakugos apartment.

"Red, White, and blue balls? I told you, I'm not letting him have you. You're mine. That kid's mine and you're going to be my wife as soon as I get my damn Hero license," he put his arm around Izukus neck. Izuku was quiet for a moment.

"I actually remember you asking me to marry you," he chuckled, "it was before you got your quirk. Before our first school year," he grabbed Bakugos's waist.

"So you're already mine, dump that half 'n half wit. I don't know what you see in that jackass," he growled. Bakugo looked away, becoming tense. Izuku looked at him.

"What's wrong?"

The blonde scoffed.

"I mean.. Why? You have me, but you were fucking with him," he pulled off of Izuku, " I just don't get why you... why you cheated on me. I'm the best damn thing to happen to you," he shouted. Izuku looked away, guiltily.

"We were off. I thought we were done for good," he shrugged.

"Bull shit. We got back together way before you got pregnant. You could have broken up with him at any point, but you kept fucking him," Bakugo turned from him. Izuku was surprised. Bakugo was upset.

"Kacchan has been acting like what I did to him was nothing, but he... is actually mad," he thought.

"Look, I promised your mom that I wouldn't stress you out during your pregnancy. But... I think, until I know it's mine..." They stopped at his door, "I can't trust you,".

"Kacchan, I-"

"Katsuki!" Bakugos mom, Mitsuki Bakugo, opened the door. "Izuku!" She pulled Izuku to her chest, "Please come in!" She pulled him inside. At the couch sat Bakugos dad, Masaru Bakugo.

"Hey Izuku!" He got up and shook Izukus hand, "your mom will be over in a few minutes.

"Oh, my mom is coming?" the air suddenly became dark, and heavy. Mitsuki hovered over them.

"Oh yes, we have a lot to talk about," she placed a tense hand on Izukus shoulder.

"Oh.. that's great," his voice shook, "I guess you've heard the news,".

"Oh, yes we did," her attention turned to her son, slapping him on the head, "I'm too young to be a grandma but you had to just screw that up, didn't you?!"

"Get your hands off of me, you old hag!" Bakugo shouted at her.

"I'm an old hag thanks to you, dumbass," she spat.

"How are you feeling Izuku," Masaru pulled Izuku away from the two.

"Ah, great, a little nervous, but I always get nervous when coming here," he peered at the two battling family members.

"Haha, what about your... baby? Everything going well? You don't look too big," Izuku flattened his shirt, showing off his stomach a little more.

"It's good. I'm pretty much done with my morning sickness, so that's good," he let go of his shirt, "I'm just starting my second trimester,".

"That's great! So that's, 14 weeks?" he thought aloud.

"Yeah, that's right! On the dot!" Izuku smiled. Izuku always had a good relationship with Masaru. He figured because they both fell for a fiery blonde.

A knock came at the door.

"That must be your mom, let me get her and we can have dinner," he moved past the brawling pair.

"Scrawny shit," Mitsuki yelled.

"Ugly cow!" Bakugo screeched. Izuku watched his boyfriend.

"Kacchan... even now you're acting normal. That everything's okay," he looked away. "But you must hate me,". Izukus stomach twisted in guilt.

"Hi Inko," Mitsuki stopped mid fight to greet Izukus mom.

"Hello Mitsuki, how are you?" She ignored the boy biting his own parent.

"Ah, you know," Mitsuki slapped Bakugo one last time, causing him to fall to the floor, "just excited to see the baby,".

The two families sat around the table, eating the meal Masaru made for them. The conversation was mostly the adults catching up, and their work. Bakugo and Izuku sat next to each other. Bakugo wasn't touching his boyfriend, or even looking at him.

"So, all of that grabbing today was for Shoto," Izuku frowned.

"So, Izuku, there is a problem with your pregnancy," Mitsuki started. Izuku looked up at her.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"You don't know if the baby's Katsukis, do you?" She didn't hesitate. Izuku shrink down.

"No ma'am. Kacchan must have told you," he swallowed hard, "it's true. I've been... cheating on Kacchan with someone else; Shoto Todroroki. He's another classmate of mine," the words burned his throat. "He's the only one though. Just him and Kacchan,". It got quiet. Really quiet. No one ate or even moved. They just stared at him. "I'm sorry," he could nearly whisper. Inko wanted to comfort her son but didn't.

"Do you not love Katsuki anymore?" Mitsuki asked.

"Suki-" Masaru saw that Izuku was uncomfortable, "he's clearly-"

"Of course I love him!" Izuku blurted our. Kacchan didn't look at the greenette, but listened closely. "I've loved Kacchan since I was a kid! I was just-" he paused. He couldn't say what he really wanted to say. Tired of Kacchan dumping him. It sounded so childish in his head. But that's how he felt. "I was just stupid, and wasn't thinking,". He lied. He was thinking, just not about Kacchan. Mitsuki smiled and closed her eyes.

"Good. As long as you know it was a mistake," her words were more like a scolding than a reassurance.

Dinner continued as usual. Except Izuku couldn't eat. His stomach was in knots. He looked away from everyone else, playing with his food. Mitsuki watched him.

"Izuku, are you alright," she asked. Izuku didn't say anything. The rest of the table looked at him, except Kacchan who continued eating.

"Izuku, honey," Inko leaned in, worried. She moved the hair from his face, revealing green teary-eyes

"I'm sorry. But," he stood up, "I don't deserve this kindness from any of you. I cheated on Kacchan and now I don't even know if it's his baby that I'm carrying. I shouldn't be here. I have to go," he started to leave. Bakugo stood up and went after him.

"Deku-" he called. But Izuku was already out of the home. He walked down the street, tears streaming from his face. Bakugo came out looking around for him. "Deku!" He shouted into the sky. Izuku ignored him and continued walking. He pulled out his phone and messaged Shoto.

IzukuM Meet me at my apartment

his message read.

He continued walking, knowing Bakugo wasn't far behind. It wasn't too long before he caught up.

"Deku, what the hell are you doing," he growled.

"Something I should have done a while ago," he walked to his apartment, letting himself in. Bakugo followed right after him.

"Tell me what you're doing," He followed him through the apartment.

"We're waiting for Shoto," he flopped on to his couch as he angrily wiped his tears away. Bakugo steamed.

"Why? I asked my parents to see us tonight. We were supposed to plan our future while we still have the time. What the hell is your problem?" Bakugo's voice was shaking. Something in him was cracking. Izuku ignored him. It was quiet for a moment before Bakugo realized he wasn't going to talk back. "You're not going to talk to me. You're going to invite that icy hot bitch over and replace me," he continued, "damn it Deku talk to me!"

"Why should I, Kacchan?! You dumped me when I got into UA! You've dumped me in middle school because I asked you to go to the New Year festival with me! You dumped me because you didn't get your provisional hero's license and I did! You even dumped me when you got kidnapped and I saved you! You threatened to dump me when I saved Eri! You can't decide if you want me or not- so why the hell would I decide if I want you!" He yelled through his tears. He spoke out of anger, not meaning any of it. Bakugo stood there, speechless. "Every time in middle school you broke up with me, I waited for you to come back. Like an idiot I waited for someone who treats me like crap and still calls me by their mean nickname! You won't even let me in your dorm room!" he laughed with tears in his eyes, "When I finally thought that this time, this time you wouldn't come back, I tried to move on to someone who didn't yell, who didn't call me names, who doesn't care if I was quirkless! He loves me with all of his heart, and I can't say the same about you, Kacchan! You can't trust me anymore, but I can't trust you to come back. Oh, when you came back. That night when you came back," he choked out, "you said that things would change. You wouldn't be mean anymore, you wouldn't be angry. You said that you wanted to keep me and would do anything to do that. I lied to you, but you're STILL lying to me," Izuku took in air. His face was red and covered in tears.

Bakugo watched him. He hadn't ever made Izuku cry like this. He never wanted him to cry like this. He stepped forward, reaching out a hand.

"Dek- Izuku," his voice was soft. He grabbed Izukus shirt but the greenette slapped his hand away. Bakugo reeled back, not ever seeing this raw emotion before. "De-Izuku, I'm sorry," he whispered. Izuku looked at him, a little shocked, but that feeling quickly melted away as it seemed like another empty apology.

Suddenly there was a knock. Shoto opened the apartment door, causing the other two boys to look at him. Shoto looked at Izuku then quickly went to him and held his face. He wiped away his tears with his thumbs. He pulled the pregnant boy close to him. Bakugo watched, knowing he couldn't be as soft as Shoto was.

Izuku gently pushed Shoto off of him, clearing his throat.

"Good," he sniffled, " now that you're both here I can tell you," he started. Shoto shot an angry glare at Bakugo. "I've made my decision. I know who I'm going to dump," he announced. They both looked at him in horror.

"You haven't had the test," Bakugo shook his head.

"Or met my family," Shoto added on. Izuku nodded.

"I know. But I'm not going to hold you two in suspense anymore," he looked to the floor. His mother walked into the open door, followed by the Bakugos. "It's not fair of me to keep you both. I don't deserve either of you. I love you both and can decide who I want to create this life with," he held his belly, "so, I'm breaking up with both of you," he looked to the boys. They stepped back in shock.

"Izuku-" Shoto uttered, "but-".

"I've made up my mind. I'm not going to continue pulling you guys along. When the baby is here, I'll decide if I want to start dating again. It might be one of you, or someone else entirely," he paused, "you guys can come to the paternity test but the result won't change my mind," he finally looked at them. The whole room was in shock. No one moved, they just stood there. Shoto didn't freeze up or burn everything down. Bakugos fists shook. There was nothing he could do. Izuku looked to the adults. He bowed to them.

"I'll message you the details for my appointment, but right now, I'm going to bed," he stood back up, and left everyone.
