Hotch is driving the SUV, Rossi sits in the passenger seat and JJ and Reid are in the back. Reid holds a phone with Garcia on the line. Morgan and Prentiss are in a different SUV, ahead of them and arrive first
JJ: Ok, there's one thing that's been bothering me. Why is he killing now?
Reid: Well, this level of anger and pattern of violence probably says he grew up in a broken home, probably an abusive mother or grandmother, which is why his rage is directed at women.
Hotch: If his rage was at a single parent or grandparent, it would explain why he was so violent towards Briar; she was a single mom.
Hotch: Garcia, what's his story
Garcia: Oh, lordy lord it's unsub central over here. Dad was never in the picture and he was raised by his grandmother after his mother abandoned him.
Garcia: Oh no- there was a series of hospital visits for little Edgar. Social services never investigated, but it was definitely abuse. The ER visits stop when mom disappears. And grandma died a week before Eleanor was murdered.
