The kitchen was a real mess. Harry, Ron and Hermione were talking together while the member of the Order was talking. Fred, George and Ginny were singing and Hiccup watched the whole thing.

"So you're off?" asked Hiccup, walking toward the group.

Everyone jumped, Hiccup smiled, just look at the looks on their faces. Hiccup almost laughed but turned it to a light cough.

"I thought you went away." said Harry.

"And I thought I'd stop by." said Hiccup, sitting down. "Wanted to check if you are cleared or not."

"Well, I am!" said Harry, almost shouting. "I'm going back to Hogwarts!"

On the last day of school Hiccup came back from his work and got the letter.

"Two new books," said Hiccup, looking down at the least. "and I have to buy my new robes, cauldron and a few other things. Like other Textbooks..."

"I guess we have a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher."

"I heard that Dumbledore had a hard time finding the teacher." said Fred.

"Not surprising."

"One sacked, one dead, one's memory removed and one locked in a truck for nine monthes." said Harry, counting off his fingers. "Yeah, I see what you mean."

"Wait, wait, wait." said Hiccup. "One Professor died?"

"Yeah, he was our first year Professor. He served Voldemort, Harry killed him." said Ron.

"Then who got his memory erased?"

"Lockheart." said Harry. "In the Chamber Of Secrets."

"The Chamber Of Secrets?" said Hiccup, puzzled.

"Oh, just some secret Chamber with a basilisk in it." sad Ron, reading his letter.

"Cool, can I go in it?" asked Hiccup.

"Uh…" said Harry, looking at Fred and George.

Ron was staring at his parchment. Hiccup peaked over his shoulder.

"What's a Prefect?" asked Hiccup, reading from the paper.

"Huh?" said Harry, Fred, and George, rushing over.

"Ron's a Prefect?" said Fred.

"I thought Dumledore was bound to pick Harry or Hiccup!" said George.

"What's a Prefect?" asked Hiccup, eyeing the badge.

"Someone that can hand out punishments and stuff." said Fred.

"Someone like a Chief?" asked Hiccup, thinking.

"I guess," said Ron, shrugging and tossing his Prefect badge to Harry who passed it to Hiccup.

Then Hermione bursted in. She was holding the same badge as Ron's. Hiccup was tossing it into the air and catching over and over.

"Did you - Did you get -?

She saw Hiccup catch the badge again and let out a shriek.

"I knew it! Me too, Hiccup, me too!" said Hermione excitedly.

"Uh, this is not my badge, Hermione." said Hiccup. "It's Ron's."

Heroine looked at Ron. "It - what?"

"It's Ron Prefect's badge not mine." said Hiccup, indicating himself.

"Ron? Are...you sure? I mean -" stuttered Hermione, Hiccup whispered to Shard who was on his shoulder.

"She kinda sounds like me when I'm nervous."

[Oh? Yeah…] said Shard, sleepily.

"It - what?"

"Ron's prefect, not us." said Harry.

"I…" said Hermione, looking shocked. "I...well...wow!" Well done, Ron. That's really -"

"Unexpected." said George, nodding.

"No," said Hermione, blushing. "no it's not...Ron's done loads of...he's really…"

"I guess she thought we'll be the ones to be prefects." said Hiccup, matter of factly.

"Well, Harry defeated the Dark Lord, won the Triwizard Tournament, Hiccup can tame dragons and talk to animals." said Fred.

"Harry did a lot of mad stuff either way," said George. "and Hiccup only attended one school school year..."

Hiccup shrugged and smiled while Harry smiled too, but Hiccup thought he looked troubled.

Their talking was interrupted when Mrs. Weasley came into the room.

"Ginny said the booklists had come at last." said Mrs. Weasley, glancing around at all the envelopes as she made her way over to the bed and started sorting the robes into two piles. "If you give them to me I'll take them over to Diagon Alley this afternoon and get your books while you're packing. Ron, I'll have to get you more pyjamas, these are at least six inches short, I can't believe how fast you're growing...what colour would you like?"

"Get him red and gold to match his badge." said George, smirking.

"To match his what?" said Mrs. Weasley absently, rolling up a pair of maroon socks and placing them on Ron's pile.

"His badge," said Fred, with the air of getting the worst over quickly. "His lovely shiny new prefect's badge."

Fred's words took a moment to penetrate Mrs. Weasley's preoccupation with pyjamas.

"His...but...Ron, you're not…?"

Ron held up the badge.

Mrs. Weasley let out a shriek just like Hermione's.

"I don't believe it! I don't believe it! Oh, Ron, how wonderful! A prefect! That's everyone in the family!"

"What are Fred and I, next-door neighbors?" said George, indignantly as his mother pushed him aside and flung her arms around her youngest son. Hiccup laughed under his breath at the dry humor.

"Wait until your father hears! Ron, I'm so proud of you, what wonderful news, you could end up Head Boy just like Bill and Percy, it's the first step! Oh, what a thing to happen in the middle of all the worry, I'm just thrilled, oh Ronnie -"

Fred and George were both making loud retching noises behind her back but Mrs. Weasley did not notice; arms tightly around Ron.

"Mom...don't...Mom...get a grip…" said Ron, trying to pull his mother out of the way.

Hiccup watched the day go by. Mrs. Weasley went crazy, she started to go around the house preparing food and talking about Ron to whoever would listen. Ron was just like his mother talking about his new broom. Hermione went up to send a letter to her parents. Harry...Harry looked strange. Hiccup thought he looked like Astrid when he became better than her at the kill ring. He was jealous, Hiccup thought but at the same time he's ashamed of it. Poor Harry. Why didn't Dumbledore pick Harry for Prefect?

Soon dinner was served, Hiccup stared at the sign that read; congratulations Ron and Hermione - new Prefects.

"Neat," muttered Hiccup as he sat down.

The whole Order had a nice time and Hiccup was listening to the people while sipping on his Butterbeer. The grownups told their own tales about Prefects.

"I think Dumbledore might have hoped that I would be able to exercise some control over my best friends," said Lupin. "I need scarcely say I failed dismally."

"So, Dumbledore made Ron and Hermione Prefect so they can 'exercise control' over me and Harry?" joked Hiccup, Ron and Hermione looked at him as if to say 'seriously?', Harry looked uncomfortable. "What?"

Hiccup ate his meal with Toothless and Shard. He was just about to get a second plate of roasted chicken when he heard sobbing. No one else heard it, Hiccup's hearing had advanced since the missions. He ran up the stairs to the drawing room. Mrs. Weasley was sobbing over Ron's dead body. Hiccup saw Harry too, he looked pale.

"R-r-riddikulus!" sobbed Mrs. Weasley.

Crack!

Then Ron's body was replaced by Bill's.

"R-riddikulus!"

Crack!

's body appeared.

"No! No...riddikulus! Riddikulus! RIDDIKULUS!"

Crack! Dead twins. Crack! Dead Percy. Crack! Dead Harry…

" just get out of there!" shouted Harry, staring at his own body.

"Yeah, Let someone else -" said Hiccup, looking down at his friend's body feeling disgusted.

Lupin barged in and ended the bogart. looked so worried and...broken.

"Poor ." said Hiccup as he and Harry walked upstairs.

"Yeah, I know…" said Harry, he was deep in thought.

Hiccup sighed, he was worried too. Can he protect Harry to the end?

Hiccup hoisted himself to the roof. He stared up at the sky with Toothless and Shard.

[You're troubled.] said Toothless resting his head on Hiccup's lap.

"It's fine…" said Hiccup, petting Toothless and Shard. "I'm just worried about Harry."

[You're going to protect him, right?]

"Of course I am, Shard."

The next morning Hiccup found himself dangling from the roof. He quickly got up and went down stairs. The place was a complete chaos. and 's were screaming at the top of their voices. Hiccup saw Harry, Hermione, Ron, Fred, George and Ginny running around. He quickly got his bags and got Toothless and Shard.

"When are we leaving?" asked Hiccup as he ran up to the Golden Trio.

"Mad-Eye says we can't leave. We have to wait for Sturgis Podmore to guard Harry." said Hermione. "If we don't leave now we'll miss the train."

"That's my job." muttered Hiccup, had the Order forgotten that it was his job to protect Harry in any condition?

"Oh, Hiccup how are you planning to go to Hogwarts? You have a dragon and a Thunderbird. That will get you noticed in the Muggle world." said Hermione.

"Well...I'm not sure. I think I should take the train but how am I going to hide Toothless and Shard?" said Hiccup, looking troubled. "It's not like I can leave them here."

Then Moody walked up to him. He handed Hiccup a bag.

"Gee, thanks." said Hiccup, opening the bag.

"It has an Undetectable Extension Charm." grutted Moody. "You can put your dragon and Thunderbird in it."

Hiccup put his whole arm in the bag. "Cool! Hear that Toothless, Shard? Come on in the bag!"

[Whee!] said Shard as she flew in the bag.

Toothless looked suspicious but he stepped into the bag.

"How's it like down there?" asked Hiccup staring in the bag.

[It's okay but it's dark, cold and empty.] said Toothless.

"Well I'll go down once we board the train." Hiccup shouted back.

When they got to the station Hiccup could not stop himself from gasping. So many people and the trains! So amazing! They all boarded the train and Ron and Hermione made their way to the Prefect carriage. Harry, Hiccup and Ginny sent out to find their compartment. They met a boy named Neville Longbottom. Soon they sat down next to a strange looking girl named Luna lovegood. Hiccup set open his bag and slipped into it. Harry, Ginny, Neville and Luna watched him.

"He's interesting," said Luna.

Hiccup fell into complete darkness.
