The Laguz Threat
After Ilyana was rescued by Ike, Mist and Rolf came outside in the pouring rain. Ike did not like that they were disobeying orders and decided to holler at his own sister for her actions.
"Ike! Stop it! We're all gonna die out here!" Mist exclaimed.
"Mist, stop being a foolish one!" Ike said. "I will make sure you and Rolf get out of here safely with Princess Elincia! Alive that is!"
"Brother, I'm not leaving your side." Mist said as she held up a heal staff. "Look! I have this heal staff Rhys gave me. He's teaching me how to heal people. Like Shinon taught Rolf how to take hands of the bow! Remember, Brother?"
"I guess I remember…" Ike thought. He didn't quite remember the moment or even know what his sister was talking about. Then, a roar was heard in the distance. Knowing that it was the sound of the Beast Tribe Laguz, Ike quickly knew something was coming next. With a slash and a scratch on a Daein soldier's face, the Daein soldiers knew that these laguz creatures somehow had connection to the Mad King's War.
"Filthy, ugly sub-humans… so strong… how can this be?" the Daein soldier said. The laguz helping Ike untransformed, revealing it to be two laguz Ike recalled seeing before his father passed away. Their names were Lethe and Mordecai. Lethe was an orange cat and Mordecai was a blue tiger. Both were loyal to King Caineghis, the king of Gallia. However, despite Lethe's loyalty towards the king, she does not trust the human beorc race. Mordecai and Ike thought of being friends until Lethe interrupted the talk.
"Mordecai, what are you frickin' thinking? Do you think we can trust this stranger?!" Lethe hollered. Then, Soren spotted the laguz changelings and had something very rude to say.
"You filthy, hairy, ugly, furry sub-humans! You think you can stand up to a wind mage like me? Ha! Sub-humans."
"Mordecai, kill that wretched branded man!" Lethe ordered. "He is a threat to all of the Beast Tribe Laguz and the nation of Gallia! One who has a heart like that shall not be allowed to keep beating. He must frickin' die!" She later exclaimed. Mordecai later went to attack Soren, but accidentally attacked Ike instead. He apologized to Ike though.
"It's okay, Mordecai. We're just… not thinking straight. Nothing else important." Ike said. "So, problem, guys?"
"The king wants to see you." Lethe said. "We are here to guide you to Zarzi, Castle Gallia. Come with us." She later said. The trek through Gallia to the palace was about to begin, and Ike was about to greet the king.
